Halikarna's Kebabs in Southend-on-Sea

Rude people. Bought me the wrong food. Never offered to bring me different food. Will never use again. 40 pound on the wrong order..please stay away from.these

Thought i would give them another chance. Wish i had not bothered. Asked for chicken shish kebab. Amazingly this was ready in under 5 mins. When i got home, found out why. Chicken was luke warm. Veg was soggy. Got the impression it had been cooked a while and was sitting there. Dont understand how this place is getting good reviews. They obvs not tried anywhere else to see that they can better elsewhere.

Well I have been going to Halikarnas for years and over the years was always the best, would always go miles out the way to go there and didn’t mind paying that little bit more because it was always very good but now moved around the corner from there and it’s just got worse and worse, tonight was the last straw for us and I will not be ordering anything from Halikarnas again! We ordered our food and it took over 2 hours and 40 minutes to get to us! When phoned up to ask where it is we got the same old story, “it’s on its way? Just left” which was a lie! when it did come to us the food was cold and some of the order was missing, £45 wasted! Didn’t even get a drink for a £45 order First thing! If you get the order wrong do something about it! Don’t just keep saying okay! We will give you free chips and kebab next time! I paid for it? And it was missing? So it’s not free is it? Put it this way if I walked into haliarnas ordering chips and a kebab then said I’m not paying they wouldn’t have it? So why should I have to pay for something that I didn’t have? If theirs going to be hours and hours wait then tell people the truth! Don’t keep saying 50 minutes! I am a builder and if I done a half arse job I wouldn’t get paid? So why do Haliarnas think they should! It all went in the bin in the end! Thanks for putting me right off! Never again! I don’t know what’s gone so so wrong!

Ordered food at 6.30 via Justeat after 90mins chased and a message of 8.15 come, waited. Still nothing phone line constantly engaged. Sent further messages from justeat, no discount offered. Ended up driving there and just as I pulled up the driver called saying 5 mins away. It arrived at 9.10 The driver apologised. The meat dish was tasty otherwise a 1 out of 5 the GB was dry and only slightly warm I used to use this takeaway all the time but not answering phones and 2.45 hours of not being able to get through to them extremely disappointed.

We have now been lied to 3 times in the space of half an hour. We have been told that the food was leaving the restaurant on 3 separate occasions, only to find out that it is still sitting in the shop. It then arrived in what can only be discribed as a piece of old news paper....poorly presented and soggy. We have 2 kids waiting to go to bed which is totally unacceptable. Delivery driver was rude and tried running away before we had checked the order.

Having had a bad experience from our usual kebab house, we thought we'd try somewhere new. I had a halloumi kebab, full of cheese and fresh salad and the wife had a doner chicken kebab wrap with salad. Both were fantastic, delivery was 30 mins early and hot. Will definitely use again as reasonably priced and delivered by a happy guy. Thanks

Decided to stay in and order a take out, apart from a quick delivery service is quite bad. Ordered the food through JustEat who were quite good with the situation. Had a mixed lamb and chicken kebab with salad, kids cheeseburger, and hummus with pita bread. Kebab and salad was served separately; kebab had about 5 pieces of chicken and rest was lamb; salad was all onion and nothing else. Cheeseburger was very dry as if it’s been left on the grill for too long. Hummus with pita wasn’t for me, but that seemed to be the only decent thing from the order. If you are looking to order from this place I would suggest to do it in the actual shop because otherwise you will pretty much have to put all the food together yourself once you get it. Tried to call the restaurant to resolve the issues but had no answer when calling so had to contact JustEat. They contacted the restaurant and advised of the situation letting them know I wasn’t happy and would like a refund which was rejected.

What a shame.... Used to be one of the best but this is the last time I will use them. Two pizzas burnt to a crisp.

We often pop in for late night snacks and the staff are so helpfull and also having a laugh. The food is a great price and plenty off it always.

Food here is good and reasonably priced . The staff are generally warm and friendly . However the guy that cooks the pizzas is a little over friendly to the point that my wife will no longer go there unless I go with her, that doesn't seem to stop him, he seems to behave better when his wife is there though .

Don’t call and order It is MUCH MUCH smaller, hardly any veg , not as much chicken for £10 They put the veg in a tiny tin pot, think twice

Lamb and chicken Donna or Shish- can’t go wrong here. Superb chilli sauce too. Always tastes fresh . Favourite kebab shop in Southend and I’ve done most of them

Excellent takeaway good delivery nice ingredients.The service is friendly and efficient. Chicken kebab is my favourite and Adana my husbands ,go for it.

Everything I've had from here is great! Doner meat pizza is absolutely lush and for the price it's massive! However my favs are the lamb kebab and the haloumi kebab... we buy one of each and share them... they are delicious with loads of salad and a choice of sauces... friendly staff too... my only gripe is that some Saturdays they don't seem to deliver which is disappointing when you're in your pjs already!

Decided on giving Halikarna's another chance after being disappointed a couple of years back but unfortunately it's even worse than before. Went in for a takeaway and chose a mixed special kebab with all the trimmings for £10.00. the picture showed three skewers of kebab and some doner meat served with salad, onions, peppers and mushrooms in a foil tray. Man in the shop said that although it was pictured in a tray it would be served in a foam box - no problem I thought as long as it tasted good and there is plenty of it. Unfortunately when I opened the takeaway foam box at home I found chunks of chicken skewer, two chunks of kofte skewer and a load of doner meat. There were two small pieces of pepper, two small pieces of onion and half a mushroom. To make matters worse there was no pitta bread supplied with it. Luckily I had a couple of tortilla wraps indoors so I used them instead. Doner meat was very greasy and the pot of chilli sauce was miniscule. All in all not an enjoyable experience and I'll go elsewhere next time.
