Bar staff are lovely, couldn't be more welcoming, they're always happy to help and just overall friendly happy people, will definitely be coming in more often

Visited with my daughter this lunchtime for a meal. Food was delicious, staff were friendly and welcoming, especially Louisa who served us our food and drinks. Lovely pub and lovely staff, will definitely visit again

The food was really tasty and was a great price. The service was great, I was served by a woman called Julie. She Made sure everything was okay for me, she checked back in a timely manor. Coudnt ask for anything more I’m really pleased with how I was treated and will definitely be returning :)

Had a 3 course Christmas dinner today food was hot well presented and service was excellent nothing was to much trouble excellent value for money would recommend

Popped in to try out the new menu with 2 of my minis can not rate highly enough the new Garlic bread def a must to try....... best I've ever had !!! Ordered nachos aswell as starter which the 3 of us shared which was covered with a generous amount of melted cheese.... we followed with the combo ...and childrens mac n cheese and nuggets chips and beans which we all enjoyed ..... now for the dessert .....The ultimate candy mania wowzers !!!!!! LOVE LOVE LOVE !!!! The staff was amazing we was served by chloe and chef was Garf...? Asked if we had any allergies which is a big plus not many restaurants ask this (and to be honest I'm pretty awkward ) also checked to see if everything was OK..Met the chef which was nice and told him how amazing it was especially that Garlic bread !!!! Will def be back soon Thank you

Myself and some friends popped in for a catch up and a bite to eat. The atmosphere was relaxed with some lovely background music playing. There was lots to choose from on the menu, and some really great offers each day. Our food tasted delicious and was definitely great value for what you get on your plate. The staff were very friendly and attentive. Both Chloe and Amanda came and checked on us to ensure all was good for us, without being intrusive, you don't get much of that anymore! We left with full tummies and very happy. Thank you for a great experience, we will definitely be recommending to our family and friends. This will now be our go to place.

Been quiet a few times now. Been very good. And fast.

The home run burger that my partner and I had sounded great, but the onions were legitimately vile, so slimy smelled vinegary, which we unfortunatly discovered once taking the bun off because it tasted so awful we scraped it off drowned it in sauce but those onions in the burger ruined the meal, not sure if it is supposed to taste like that but the fact it was served to us this way suggests it was so didn't feel comfortable sending it back, wish I had as now we have eaten my stomach really hurts and I feel very sick

Myself and family visited for tea, the food was lovely and our waitress Jules was very polite and helpful, thank you for a great family tea.

The food was presented very well and was delicious. What stood out to me the most was the service and it was great. I was served by a women called Jules. She went above and beyond with her service. She welcomed us with a smile, asking about any allergies with food, regular check backs, always asking if there is anything else they could do for me which I really appreciated and was really caring and respectful to all of us. I’ll be returning again with that amazing service :).

I can honestly say as a long as I've been coming to the halcyon (20+ yrs) I've never met a better bunch of staff and landlady.. keep it up you are amazing nest staff ever Amanda was very helpful and service with a smile xxx

***Edit*** Service was so much better today! Food was absolutely banging!! Came in 2 Fridays in a row, and both times the tables were dirty with food and sauce all over. Wasn't particular busy, where you could understand it. We had to clean them ourselves as the staff were in and out, and we couldn't collar one.. food was good but the coke was flat on one visit and on the other was so full of ice it was watered down. Not enough staff working the food bar area.

Had a fantastic night for a Sunday, service was quick and the locals are great, Beth served us and it was a great experience !! Would come back !!!

One glaring problem with this venue. I love a game of pool with my pint but their pool table has only one very knackered cue with worn out tip and no chalk anywhere in the building but they charge a whapping £1.50 a game.

My wife and I came for a quiet lunch while the kids were at school and it was exactly what we were looking for. The staff were very welcoming and helpful. Shannon couldn't have done enough to help, very nice to see. The food was very well priced and delicious. Will probably be back soon.

Great morning at the halcyon for the macmillan Disney morning, kids had lots of fun decorating cakes and arts and crafts, staff where amazing in there outfits and with the kids, can’t wait for the Halloween party’s

The food was terrible out of the two eggs one was slimy and the other was hard the toast was warm bread, . The manager looks like she has not showered for months she was not happy about having to fix one of the two coffee machines that did not work and I sat and hoped she would not serve me my food. Best pub to be in if you are in Peterborough or even visiting Peterborough. The staff members for example Bethany are very welcoming and the atmosphere is very comfortable. Service is excellent and was made to feel very welcome highly recommend, will always be returning to this pub ✅

Amanda was lovely, couldn't do enough for us. Only downside was they'd had a busy weekend and had no chicken dishes 😕 but what we had was something different and thoroughly enjoyed it.

Despite how busy it was the team all where very friendly and had smiles on the faces Food took a little time to come but was definitely worth the wait.

Food was pretty Good, only put 2 for atmosphere as there was very few customers. Food was piping hot and was prepared pretty quickly, would return if in the area again.

Absolutely terrible went for a birthday meal hadn't got anything on the menu ended up with fish n chips but couldn't eat the fish certainly wasn't cod n much too salty had nothing for the kids for pudding either staff are lovely though n chips were nice I just feel sorry for the poor chef

We arrived early as my son has additional needs and doesn't get on with crowds and loud places and with them serving from 11am it's brilliant for us. Food was as good as expected, nice easy comfort food without having to wash up afterwards! The main reason I'm leaving a review is because one of the servers (Shannon) was brilliant with my son, she noticed he had a colouring book and made conversation with him regarding it ( he is a boy of very few words to strangers but when she left he had a smile on his face and was chuffed she knew of the game) she came back with a drawing of one of the characters for my son which he loved and is currently colouring in! He says it's a 5 star experience and wants to go again ( aslong as she is there 😂) he doesn't make friends easily and most children his age don't have anything to do with the game so he was very happy that someone was talking about it to him ,made him feel connected with a real person! It was a very kind gesture. All staff we dealt with were lovely also ,so it's definitely somewhere we would return . ( Providing they get a stock of ketchup 😅)

6th August kitchen was closed til 5.15pm even tho we had a booking at 2pm then changed to 5pm, when opened didn't have half the food, we also got the £15 deal and the kids didn't get a plush as stated on there website. Kids larger meals are a joke starter garlic bread it was literally 1 slice and the pizza was tiny and sloppy, and the pudding was the size of small pencil, we also got my youngest a small kids meal and that was bigger than my oldest large meal. Adult size pub classics are a joke the portions have gone downhill use to be enough with old owners but new ones it's not worth the price english breakfast was small, my meal was a joke a tiny piece of chicken with 1 slice of bacon on it. We left quicker than you think and never going back and now have tried to contact as request and not replied

My girlfriend and I were there yesterday evening (9.08.2024) after 8.00 pm Terrible service, we waited a long time, no one is interested. Chaotic queue at the bar There were two girls - unkind. We ordered Aperol Spirit 🍹 I'm drinking pink water for the first time Wrong glass, a couple of ice cubes, no mandarin orange, no alcohol, I don't know what we're drinking, but it wasn't Aperol Spirit I drink this drink often and everywhere, it is an Italian drink, they do not know how to prepare it in this establishment. Paid money for nothing 💰 and spoiled the evening. The paper straw was even broken in the glass 😐

Amanda was great with my son who has ADHD. She put the Olympics on the TV for him to watch the swimming. We had the quadzilla and it was really good. Amanda has great customer service and was always happy to help with a smile on her face.

Just walked out following an hour and 40 minute wait for our food. 0 prompts from the staff advising of any delays and when we checked to see if there was a eta on the food we were not given one.

Great staff, amazing food at cheap prices

This is a good pub, good food (vegetarian and vegan options available) friendly staff and nice atmosphere. I come about every week with my dad, about every month with the rest of the family and occasionally with friends. I can't always make it but when we do it is always good. We have non-alcoholic drinks. My dad has a Coca-Cola and I have an apple & raspberry J2O. Probably one of my favourite places to go in Peterborough for tea, that's high praise from me. :-)

A medium rate steak took 55 minutes to send. The excuse was we go by ticket. Steak was tough as hell, drinks took forever to be made. Understaffed No fish and chips on a Fiday. Poor overall.

No staff to service you. Note on the door saying bookings only two months in a row with bad service. Two friends returned food as one was over cooked and one under cooked.
