Best fish and chips we've had for a long time.

Asked for 2 chips both with fish and then a pot of curry sauce, the girl didn't seem to no what she was doing and didn't even no what curry sauce they had, we then ended up with 2 chips both with fish and a extra chips covered in curry sauce I don't no if she was new but she didn't have a clue, Food was very bland will not be back.

Turned up at 8:30 all the lights on but door shut and was told “we closed”

Great fish n' chips , but they seem to be closed . been over 2 Saturday lunchtimes !! wish they would put a note on the door or something , frustrating after a 30 minute drive !

One of the two better Chippys in the area. Staff are great. Quick with serving... generous with portions of chips and rarely get the orders wrong... though it has happened on occasion. But that's during a lot of visits. Chips are tasty but could be crisper. Local spuds used too, which is nice. In fact, my understanding is that this chippy is owned by the same people that farm the potatoes. It's our regular go-to because all-in-all, it's not bad at all. The reasons it's a 4 star and not 5... Firstly, prices. Fish and Chips used to cost £10-15 for the family. Now the prices are on a par with the Indian and Chinese takeaway shops. Which, when you break it down... just isn't cricket. Especially when the fundamental Chips are produced just up the road. Secondly... freshness. Just be careful when you go. Busier us better. It's worth the wait. If you go before the rush you'll end up with one of the bits of fish that's been say in the warmer too long. I know they try to get ahead of the rush... but on more than a few occasions now they've been TOO far ahead and the fish has been tougher and dry. All that said... generally, it's a solid option foe Fish and Chips locally.

Always was the best local fish and chips but sadly, since the pandemic, prices have gone up and the portion sizes have gone down... and the chips are no longer as crispy as they used to be... Why? It's almost as if they've reduced the fryer temperature to save money 🤔

We were visiting Milford Heaven from London and tried Hake-inn chips, big portion, absolutely delicious and try their hot curry sauce, it's divine and I've never had such a delicious curry sauce.

This was one of the best fish and chip shops I have been to the batter was nice and light the cod was full of flavour the chips was cooked perfect and the Irish curry sauce was banging 👌

Excellent service good portions and friendly staff. Love going here when on holidays the chicken curry is the best curry ive ever had love it there.

Excellent good old fashioned chippy just how it should be fish is cooked to perfection and the chips are perfect the curry sauce is to for and very reasonable priced it's most definitely the best chip shop in the area

Best fish and chips around, always get some for friends when they come to stay and they all say the same! I definitely recommend trying both curry sauces. The staff take a lot of pride at it shows!

I can not believe what has happened to the food. This has always been a great chippy treat. Good food cooked well at a decent price, but twice now, we have been with friends staying here, saying we know the best chippy. The fish was dry,, thick with batter, chips tasted very old, and grey and very expensive

I wish I could’ve scored zero and thought to have taken a photo to post! Absolutely disgusted. The chip portions were hideously huge and just about warm. The fish… well I couldn’t believe my eyes. I thought it must’ve been a joke, the fish was no bigger that a fishfinger! I wish I’d noticed before as I would have refused to pay.

Wonderful food 😋. Their fish is fresh and of beautiful quality. All of the staff are always friendly and helpful.

Monster sized portions of chips. Beware that it can close early in Summer as supplies are exhausted by holiday trade.

Food looked and smelled amazing. Unfortunately, having walked in to order 2 x fish and chips, the staff didn’t even acknowledge me even though I literally waited for five minutes or more right in front of them. They were waiting for fish (8 mins) and more chips to fry but completely blanked me. So I left even though my wife and myself really wanted fish and chips! Only one open in the area. Drove up the road and gave the Indian our £20 - sorry, but……no choice.

Absolutely beautifully cooked fish with crispy golden batter and crunchy on the outside fluffy in the middle chips. This was up with the best fish and chips I've had. I was pursuaded to try my fish and chips with curry sauce by a friend of mine and was not disappointed, the Irish curry sauce is the best.

Nice chippy with very friendly staff. Can get very busy at times but that speaks for itself as the food is very good and reasonably priced. Better to go early than late as they do tend to run out of food which again is a good indication to quality of food served

Yeah they are still serving food in polystyrene boxes that melt into the food as you can see from the pictures on someones previous post, They tend to over cook the food a little too much for my liking, but this last time was annoying, they called a person by name before me like they had a pre-order ready but they just knew what was going to be ordered and made it up right there and and took their time about it as they just wanted to have longer time to have a good ole chat with eachother when I got to the counter they were a little off with me especially when I specified I wanted a large chips in a cardboard box, if you don't ask for the cardboard box you get polystyrene, anyway this time the chips were spatterered with burnt black speckles from dirty oil also once again reflected in yet another person's post I had to throw a quarter of the chips away in the end because they were small scraps of chips that were so over cooked they were crispy shells of what were once chips, this isn't the only time I have been left with the feeling of being reasonably dissatisfied and had wasted my time and money, on their good days they are just plain way over cooked, and I do prefer good golden brown chips but, too may times being disappointed over the years, that was the last time I shall be going there or recommend this chippy to any of the people visiting milford haven who frequently ask me where the best place to get fish n chips or to eat

I guess it must be an off day at The Hake Inn. Two fish and chips, the worst we've ever attempted to eat. It appeared to have been cooked in dirty oil, the food was greasy and speckled with old burnt food, the taste was horrid. A small piece of fish, that too was cooked in the same oil. So very disappointed, not a chippy that I will be returning to.

Visited twice, first time was great staff friendly and food was good. One of the best chips I've had in a long time and generous portion but quite disappointed to see fish sitting in the heat counter and not being fried fresh. Ordered 4 fish and 3 came from the heated counter, Noticeable difference between the fresh and the hot counter. Fresh was delicious though. Second time arrived at 20:25 be told they were closing at 20:30. Google said 21:00 so have suggested an edit to the google times. Would re visit.

Best chippy in Milford Haven without a doubt!

Staying with my folks this week and ventured out for cod and chips for our supper. Generous portions of exceptionally fresh fish and superb chips served by friendly staff. The chips are made from Pembrokeshire grown potatoes and were delicious. Excellent!

Had food here a few times , really enjoyed it tonight however not so much , had chips ,battered sausages curry sauce and a bread roll .Everything except the bread roll was inedible. The chips were covered in black bits and stuck together and didn't taste good , sausages were were raw inside and the batter was well disgusting and raw too ,the curry sauce was not the same as I've had there previously, seemed watered down , real shame I wont back !!

Proper good Fish and Chips. Like totally awesome tastiness, well decent size portions and welcome prices. Can get busy, if asked to wait, DO SO, it's worth it. Uuuummmmmm yummy.

I do not usually post comments, however I would like to 'post' that this is the best Fish and Chips I have ever eaten, I am 84 and have lived and worked all over the world and have had Fish and Chips in many countries and venues, non company where near the standard of Hake_inn Fish and Chip shop. So lucky to know be retired and live so close!!!!!

Not sure if its under new management but just had fish and chips from there . Chips were greasy and looked as though they were warmed up ftom lunchtime..Drinks fridge was practically empty ( 5.30pm on a Saturday night) We won't be going back .

Won't be using this place anymore, third time in a row now we've had some issue with what we ordered. It used to be a very good chippy but unfortunately quality and standards have seen a decline. Complaints are met with the offer of free food but that doesn't address the core problems. Will spend my hard earned elsewhere from now on.

Though I thought the fish and chips were excellent, the thing I will remember about this chippy is the lady and gentleman that run it. They were so friendly and welcoming. They couldn’t do enough for me and when I left a meagre tip for appreciation of their fantastic customer service they were delighted. Food wise, the cod was excellent. My wife has the children’s sized ‘cod bite’ & chips which was still a healthy portion, the cod and chips itself was huge. If I were nearby again, I’d pop in for sure.

Great service here when I had a chippy lunch on Saturday the 2nd of December. The chips were really nice and the batter was nice and crispy. Would recommend!
