i’ve been to haidilao in birmingham 3x and the service both times were amazing. the service compared to the one in london are similar, but i felt like the one in birmingham was a little better. a waiter offered us free lemon iced tea and provided us with hair ties, and also made us his own sauce. the food is always above standard and delicious. also please get the buns for dessert they’re amazing !!

Delicious food with very good service with special care for kids. Our service staff is Ginny who is very friendly and enthusiastically. This is the recommended place for anyone wanting to try hotpot.

An excellent experience for my first time trying hotpot. The food was good, and basic combo was reasonable cost for the amount available. The staff were pleasant and helpful; they asked if we'd been before, and explained everything clearly since we hadn't. Special thanks to Cindy, who put everything right when there was a mistake with the order, and waived the usual 90 minute time limit. She also showed us how to cook fish paste, which was welcome.

As soon as we stepped in, the service was impeccable! Waiting staff speak both Mandarin and English, and are incredibly welcoming. Ordering food is done via a tablet, and there are many discounts to apply for. Large choice of hotpot dishes, as well as soup bases. While we were eating, staff made sure our drinks were full without having to ask, while also taking away empty plates etc. Bathrooms had a luxurious feel with high tech toilets - very cool.

The food is fresh, of good quality, served quickly, and the service is superb, making guests feel at home. However, the buffet time is only 90 minutes which is too late.

If food is 5 stars for me, it may not be 5 stars for everyone - but the service, the facilities, and for me personally the food? All 5 stars. Our server Kelly went above and beyond, even though every other member of staff seemed to be just as hard working and dedicated. I have never felt service like that??? The food was instagrammable, delicious, savoury, exotic, I haven’t a single bad word about this place. Best restaurant I have ever been in. If you have the opportunity, you should go! Don't even get me started on how amazing their bathrooms are.

I went with family for my brother's birthday and it was amazing! the service was insanely good and the food had something for everyone since we had vegans/pescaratarians/meat eaters! I tried to catch more names but could only get Cindy and Xiao Li, they were both sweethearts and ensured that we were always okay!

The food was delicious, but the most important thing was the enthusiasm of the waiters. I met two very good waiters, Coco and Kelly. Their service was very heartwarming. They were committed to ensuring that my table was clean. In fact, this made customers feel how much the restaurant values ​​customers. It was a very good experience and I will come again if I have the chance.

I think this is the best restaurant I’ve been to in last 22 years of my life. Everything on point. The food was excellent. The ambience was amazing and now the best part is the service what an amazing staff. Never in my life I had experienced such a beautiful service team. After some of the reviews, I was worried about wait time, but I was pleasantly surprised that we were only waiting a few minutes before we were shown to our seats. There were snacks for while we waited, and a mini table football game to play. From the moment we arrived, the service was immaculate. I was given the chance to spin a wheel to win a prize and won a free coke. The staff couldn't do enough for us, insisting they pour our drinks instead of us doing our own. Adorable robots brought out the food, and we had a Noodle "dance" show as they made the noodles in front of us. The food was delicious- we went for the more expensive all-you-can-eat option, which was worth the extra money just for the drinks alone, as well as the extra choice of menu options. My favourite part was the fried buns with condensed milk dipping sauce, and the chicken. My fiancé's favourite was the lamb. Everything is easy to order on a tablet. My only negative is that we ordered some chicken skewers that never arrived. However, we didn't mind because by the time we realised we were already very full and struggling to finish the food we had ordered because the portion sizes are very generous, so we didn't ask the servers for it or remind them about it. Plus, there was no extra cost for it because it was part of the all you can eat, so overall it didn't take away from the experience at all. The attention to detail is incredible, right down to the mouthwash and heated seats in the bathrooms. My favourite part was when the server offered to take a photo of us and print it out for free. I was expecting just a printed photo, which I thought was generous enough, but she arrived with the photo in a frame for us to take home as a gift. There is a £10 service charge, but I feel like of all the places I've been to they truly earned that. They went above and beyond to make us feel welcome and I'll definitely be back soon. I highly recommend it!

The food is generally good, the kimchi is a bit too sour. The beef is always my fav. I booked the slot at 7:00 and showed up in time but they probably missed it and thought I did not come so they texted and called me but I did not notice at first bc it’s all in Chinese and I don’t speak Chinese. The staff later said sorry and gave a small toy. During the eating, the staffs are nice and helpful with noodles dance and serving the food. The noodle dance is fun as always. We sit from 7:12 and they closed the bills at 8:55. They brought us a pork dish we did not called and tried to charge us for wasting food ( only that dish bc we finished everything else) but later we explained that’s not what we called. First they give us the bills as normal but then, they changed their mind and gave us another bill, charged us extra £20 for sitting an additional 12 minutes (We had the 2 ppl standard all you can eat for 90 mins). It’s really weird that they brought us a £72 bills then switched to £92 bills after 5 mins for that penalty? That makes me super confused. But anyway, it’s our fault for not knowing the rules here.

The self-service is highly not recommended. The menu is separate and there are very few choices. There was no advance notice. I was also deceived into registering as a member. It was said that there was a membership discount, but in fact there was no such thing.

Fantastic service, could not have been more welcoming. Food is great quality and tasty. Tables are a little cramped considering your ingredients need to be on the table - this is a minor issue though and we will definitely return very soon!

Had an amazing experience at Haidilao! The service was excellent—staff were super friendly and attentive. The ingredients were fresh, and the hotpot broth was delicious. Loved the variety of sauces and side dishes. Will definitely come back! Highly recommend Xiao Ke, she is really lovely❤️

Their customer service is amazing! Waiting for a table? they provide lemon tea, lemon water, snacks. When you get to the table they offer an apron, a hair tie for those with long hair, any plates you’ve finished they always take it as soon as possible to keep your table clear and ready for anything else you order. A Drawer for your coats which is stored under your seats! Water jug kept on the edge of the table so it’s accessible without taking up too much room on the table. When you book a table they always ask if it’s for an occasion as they are known for their happy birthday song/celebration. Even have entertainment of "flying noodles" where fresh noodles are professionally thrown in front of you for no extra cost except for paying for the actual noodles to eat. Only downside is you order via an iPad, if this doesn’t suit your ability they are able to help. They have Japanese toilets, the bathrooms also have mouthwash, toothpicks, sanitary napkins. The quality of the meat is very good! (My comparison is one day I went to happy lamb hot pot, the lamb tasted too rich and fatty, two days later I came to Haidilao for the first time and the lamb was much tastier and fresher.) The seafood pouches are also yummy! The spicy lamb broth is my go-to!! Overall Haidilao is my favourite place to eat at the moment, I’ve been back five times since my first! Parking - Edgbaston street car park (above Birmingham indoor market) 2-3 min walk from restaurant.

Outstanding service. Whilst I am not a huge hot pot fan my partner is and she was so happy being there. I enjoyed the meal.

What a stunning night. I loved the experience of hotpot dining. The food quality was astoundingly good with such a variety to choose from. Loved the condemned bar as well, again, so much to choose from. Highly recommend the tomyum base, if you can take a bit of heat. Can't wait to go back and try other fbh FS on the menu. Highly recommended.

I was really looking forward to dining here, especially since I had informed the restaurant in advance that it was my boyfriend’s birthday. I was assured they had made a note and even offered to pay extra for a cake or something special, but nothing was done—despite seeing them celebrate for another table. The waitresses and hosts were lovely, but the staff bringing our food were quite rude, dropping dishes on the table without saying what they were and rushing away. I even had to chase up missing items from my order, as some took a long time to arrive, and one never came at all. Overall, the service was disappointing, and I wouldn’t rush back.

Food was very basic. Broths were pretty tasteless. Very disappointing. The place was absolutely freezing. Was given a blanket help warm myself up. Could not feel fingers before leaving. Service was ok. Very bad stomach the following day. Vastly overpriced. Would not recommend.

The system allocates too many numbers and the queuing rules are unreasonable Customers with reservations cannot eat on time All walk-in customers must wait in line behind all reservations for an hour without letting a walk-in go in to eat.

I originally made a reservation for the lunch buffet at 3.30, but I had to wait until 4.10 to be seated. I was told that the induction cooker was very slow and I couldn't make time for the lunch buffet. According to the dinner price, it directly changed from £32.99 to £38.99 per person. The waiter didn't come after calling many times. The food was served very slowly and there were very few dishes to choose from.

Just Wow, this restaurant was an experience from the time you enter until you leave, you are well taken care of. I would advise to book as they are very busy. I made a booking for 2 for dinner, no buffets etc. Upon arrival you are greeted warmly and were asked to wait as we were early. In the waiting area they have hot honey lemon water, coffee, sweets, little snacks, also a staff member comes round and offers you more. There are board games, and dramas on the TV. We were seated maybe 15 mins after our booking, but they gave us the tablet to start looking at what we wanted and told us how it works. We were taken to our seats upstairs, every single staff member we saw greeted us as we walked to our table. Our waiter was Alex who just a delightful young man and provided us with an excellent service. He explained everything. We ordered the quarter pot with 4 soup bases, me like an idiot ordered the one that was super spicy I couldn't handle it but the flavour was actually so good. All the bases were flavoursome and you could then add your own seasonings from the seasoning table. They had everything, tissues for runny noses from all the spice, lens wipes for when your glasses steam up, it was great. We tried some Chinese liquors they were great, we had a lamb and beef quartet with some other extra sides Everything was great, it's a really fun dining experience, preparing your own food to your liking. It can work out quite costly if you want a lot but if there are more people it's quite cosy effective. I knew what to expect so I wasn't too worried. Spent just under £120 for 2 people with food and drinks and sides. They also did a happy birthday table for us as I said it was cousins bday. My only disappointment but I won't mark them down for this is that we ordered the kungfu spaghetti, however the guy did not do any theatrics, he just plonked the noodle In our base so it had not even been stretched. I thought maybe because it was busy they were not doing it, but shortly after the table next to us got the service. But hey, overall it was a great experience and I will definitely go back again.

We arrived at 7:20pm for a 7:30 booking and we were waiting to be seated until 8. However it was super busy for a Saturday night. They provided us hot honey lemon water whilst we waited which was appreciated very much as it was very cold. Once seated, we were provided with hair bobbles and glasses wipes. - some of the best service. We ordered vegetarian and halal options, there were 3 available. The staff helped us lots with providing everyone the best option without compromising on flavour. Everything tasted amazing. I can't wait to come again. There's a student discount on Monday - Friday from 10am - 6pm. I think it's 30% of sides.

Having been to the O2 location and now Birmingham’s both with exceptional service and food, my partner and I can honestly say Birmingham Haidilao has our hearts. We celebrated our anniversary tonight and right from the very start they made our evening so special. From a beautifully decorated table, attentive staff (big shout out to Mike), amazing food and suggestions to our beautiful anniversary photo scroll and gift - what a night to remember. Never ever disappointed with anything at any of the locations and highly recommend as something to do whether that be in a group, night out or celebration. We will be back!

Best restaurant ever, The food is 10/10 but the staff make it 100/10 so welcoming and understanding of dietary restrictions, amazing location, been there twice but will always be my favourite place to eat in Birmingham! Definitely recommend

Great food. Good Service. An experience if you've never had hotpot before.

First of all, the general cleanliness of this place is very evident, the small details make all the difference especially in the toilets and baby changing. Went for the dinner buffet and although pricey per person (£38) you do leave feeling satisfied, the options for food and sides are pretty decent. Although actual fish and sea food limited on buffet option at least. Some very experimental food options available such as pork brain and duck blood. Didn't try so cannot comment. Over all had a very good experience. High chairs are available although with the serving robots it's not ideal so something to bear in mind.

The whole experience is soo good, the Front of house staff is so helpful and polite and the food was amazing. I specifically loved the tom Yum and sukiyaki base and Xiao Qi was our server of the day I would say, she was so helpful and kind and the service provided was top notch. My first time trying a hotpot place and my experience was amazing.

Despite a 30-minute wait for our table, the service once seated was exceptional, making the experience worth it. The feast was next level—we treated ourselves to Wagyu, ribeye, and chicken, all cooked to perfection in our double-broth setup: spicy beef and a classic rich broth. A must-try? The Kung-Fu Noodles—not just delicious but also a performance on their own! We also devoured squid, chicken skewers, fried pork, and sweet potato fries, all crispy, flavorful, and perfect alongside the hotpot. For an immersive, high-quality hotpot experience, Haidilao never disappoints. Definitely coming back for another interactive, fun, and delicious meal! ⭐ Highly recommended for hotpot lovers and special occasions! ⭐

Had my my boyfriends birthday celebration here. The staff were so friendly and helpful. Definitely made my boyfriend’s night! We got loads of extra snacks while we left. Also the place is very nice - the toilets are so clean and they have robots around carrying your food.

Absolutely great service, cute little robots help delivering your dishes, kungfu noodles was fun to watch. We had the standard lunch buffet, truly great value for the amount and quality of food you get.

The service here was amazing. The staff were super friendly and accommodating. Where this place falls down is the value for money. We went on a public holiday which apparently meant we couldn't do the "all you can eat" option. Usually I would say that this was our own fault for not looking into it before hand but we had tried and there is very little online to provide any clarity on this. Overall, the quality of food for what we paid was pretty ridiculous, and because of this, I doubt we would go back again.

While we were waiting for our table, they thoughtfully provided us with snacks and water, which was a lovely touch. The team took the time to explain the menu and how the hot pot works, making us feel comfortable and informed. Our food came out incredibly fast, and everything was delicious! What really stood out was how they took extra care of the child of the couple who was with us, giving them a toy to keep entertained. The service was beyond excellent—I've honestly never experienced anything like it. The staff was genuinely welcoming, and their attention to detail made us feel valued. The prices were also very reasonable for the quality of food and service we received; it was worth every penny. Even the restrooms were impressive, equipped with mouthwash and top-notch cleanliness. Overall, I couldn’t recommend this place more—fantastic food, exceptional service, and a truly welcoming atmosphere!
