Food was really good, especially the jacket potatoes. I will remember that one. Drinks were also very nice and not too sweet. The view of the park was definitely the eye catching reason we came here, but it was so worth it all around.

It’s certainly hidden but not quite a gem. We had arranged to meet an old friend and he chose here. It’s off - road inside a pleasant park and despite putting in the postcode to sat nav we couldn’t see it nor reach it. Now this city is full of the friendliest folks you’ll ever meet; as innocent and open as the Inuit - y’know Inuit wives will chew their husbands slippers so they can put them on when they return from hunting. The joy of living in -40c. So we were in the area of this cafe but we asked four people where’s Gwyns and no one had a clue. Turns out they were less than 5 minutes from it just didn’t know it. Quite literally person no 5 was standing the other side of the wall from it when we pulled up beside him - and when we asked he didn’t know either but thought there was a cafe behind the wall. Yip. 20 feet from us so we drove in through a concrete arch to a small car park. Cafe had lots of light and airy. Great city view. Great coffee and the scones tasted much better than they looked. No WiFi despite it being advertised and some of the food looked really unappetising. Toilet facilities top notch. Friendly staff too. It’s a wonder that they get any trade at all. We certainly won’t make the effort to return and it’s not a bargain price - 2 cappuccino one Americano 1 pear scone, butter, cream and jam £13 similar price to the Starbucks in Foyleside shopping centre but no cream there.

Spent a week in Derry and have gone to this light filled cafe on two occasions. The menu is simple and has something for most tastes. We’ve tried jacket potatoes smothered in chicken melt, beet salad, Italian Job, and some breakfast fare. All were tasty and nicely prepared. The order takes about 10 minutes to fill and just a little longer to fill you innards. It is bright, warm on those cool days, and if you have time for a stroll you can enjoy the large surrounding park. Enjoy…

Really tasty food served here with excellent and attentive staff. Was served some very succulent chicken today by a very friendly and efficient lady named Mags, a real asset to the cafe. All the staff are very helpful. Great coffee to boot. I will be back. Ronnie O'Sullivan.

I wouldn’t normally write a review but this was so poor. Food is terrible, the kids sausages were rock hard as they were cooked in the deep fat fryer. It’s 2021 and there are still places doing this? They tasted awful too. My toasty was a total car crash. Never tasted anything like it. Don’t know where To begin. Additional to this, signage up everywhere to ask customers to wear face covering yet no members of staff were wearing face coverings, hair nets or beard snoods in the kitchen with staff openly eating in the prep area and simply wiping hands on aprons. I feel like I’ve walked through the doors and back to 1980. Quite buzzard

I visit here quite often but my last trip might well be my last. I like to shop local but have to say standards have slipped. I ordered a turkey and bacon panini as I have done in the past. This time I received my food but it was made up of 2 thin turkey slices which were like rubber and clearly came from a supermarket, the bacon was a few tiny lardons to be honest you had to search through the cheeses and red onion to find them. Not worth the money. Have to say that some members of staff were serving on the floor with no masks which made me feel uneasy.

We went for breakfast. The cafe is lovely. The art on the walls are lovely to look at and the whole place gives a trendy but cosy vibe. The food was lovely - I got the pancakes with bacon and maple syrup. The staff were so friendly and service was quick. The measures in place for covid make you feel comfortable with hand sanitiser and face coverings at the door, a one way system and plenty of space between tables. My only complaint, and it's a tiny one, is the noise the chairs make when they scrape along the ground. It's loud and is the type of house that gives you chills in your spine. This could be easily resolved with some padding on the bottoms of the chairs. Overall a lovely experience! Very affordable, tasty food with great service in a beautiful location.

There’s many things I would say about this business; great food, welcoming & friendly staff, affordable prices. It’s great for the adults to sit and have a coffee and some adult time while their children is playing in the park outside. The scones are my favourite as they are baked fresh every morning. I would highly recommend this local business to anyone and everyone! STAY LOCAL & SUPPORT YOUR OWN CITY

Lovely place for a breakfast in Derry. Owners are super kind and make you feel home. We stayed 2 days in Derry, and that was our best meal so far, will definitely come back! If you are looking for something traditional, go big and order their breakfast with sausage, bacon, egg, tomato and black pudding. All fresh and made to order. You will leave full and happy! If you have space left, get probably the best sausage you'll have in your life, and ask one portion of their homenade sweet chili sauce to eat with it, that's sooooo delicious! Don't leave without eating one (or two) of their homemade scones, super light, fluffly and moist! I can tell you, that's gonna be difficult to eat just one.
