Great food and very helpful and considerate staff.

Food was good, and the service was not too bad. The price was higher than I expected. It worked out just over £30 a head.

The food and service was first class. They have a very good menu to suit a range of tastes. The serving staff were very good, they were attentive but not intrusive. Will definitely dine here again when next in Derry.

Great experience. One Vegetarian and one Coeliac in the group and the options were brilliant. Will be back for sure. Service and staff were excellent too.

Was recommmed to us by friends and we weren’t disappointed. The food, atmosphere and service were excellent. We went at 7pm on a Saturday evening and were seated straight away. We had wings and aranchini to start and both were lovely. We both went with steak for mains which was cooked perfectly and the meat was really good. The lemon tart for dessert was lovely. The service and attention from staff throughout the meal was excellent and we would definitely return if we’re in Derry again

We had the early-bird menu which made our meal more affordable. Delicious rump steak, good starters, and a sticky toffee pudding up there with my wife’s.

Considering the price I was expecting something exceptional. Everything was perfectly fine - but that was all. The food was unexceptional but perfectly okay. Nothing had any real "wow"-factor. I'm happy to pay decent money for outstanding food - but then I expect outstanding food. It certainly wasn't awful but neither was it exceptional.

We had a beautiful meal in this restaurant. The staff were friendly and the service was fantastic. I would highly recommend it.

It was a wonderful late lunch here today 2 of our party of 3 were vegetarians so it was such a delight to find a full veggie menu on offer the staff were so very lovely and food excellent thank you so much

Such a relief and delight to find thoughtfully prepared and fresh food that isn’t fried! Really appreciate that there was a chef behind it all. We came back 2 days in a row!

Lovely spot for a casual meal out. Roisin welcomed us and all of the staff were wonderful. Very efficient and friendly. My halloumi starter and sea bass mains with champ were delicious. My husband's scallop starter was also delicious but his steak was not medium rare as he had ordered. He said it was still very tasty and he was very hungry so he didn't send it back. All in all, I would happily recommend Browns in town.

Went on a not so busy Sunday evening. Starter was nice but very small portion size. 1 of our mains was lukewarm at best. Definitely a case of style over substance. Staff were fairly disinterested….wasn’t busy but yet took ages to get waiting staff’s attention to order more drinks. Also couldn’t get their attention to bring the bill so had to go to counter and request it. Disappointing and unfortunately will not be returning.

A slightly more chic restaurant in the center of Derry. Prices are a little higher than elsewhere, but this increase corresponds to the quality of service and cuisine.

Was some of the best food we had on our trip. My family enjoyed their starters, main, and desserts. They treated us very well and everyone was nice. Everything was cooked to perfection!

Great service, great food and a nice atmosphere. I had the sea food chowder followed by cod. The chowder was full of flavour and generous with the fish. The cod was pan fried perfectly and flaked beautifully. I had champ as a side and it was a perfect accompaniment. We finished with rhubarb tart and a lemon posset. The tart pastry was delicious as was the filling. The lemon posset was lemony and not too sweet. This review probably sounds a bit gushy but the meal was one of the best I’ve had in a while

What an awful experience. A snooty waiter looking down his nose at us because we order vodka with our meal instead of wine. He obviously has limited experience of life & restaurants. Kept asking, are you sure you don't want wine?. He then proceeded to be very rude & unwelcoming. We own bars & restaurants in the North West & Dublin & were amazed that antiquated views like this exist. The food was really not up to par, burned/charcoiled cauliflower with all the mains lol the gratin potatoes were raw, if you can't cook spuds, forget about it.. they claimed the food was sourced locally, yet the fish came from somewhere in the UK. Why would a restaurant import food from the UK, when Derry has a coastline & Donegal is on its doorstep, baffling. Overrated & Overpriced & rude staff with notions..

Our first visit here, and it'll be the first of many. A quiet Wednesday evening, we were welcomed at front of house with a friendly yet professional host. We enjoyed a starter and main course, all dishes were carefully considered and the quality was as we'd hoped it would be. A great casual dining option, can't wait to try Bonds hill now.

Still dreaming about the food here a week later! Visited last week on a trip to Derry after literally everyone recommended it! The good reviews are not wrong. The food was excellent. The staff were really nice and the service was quick. We had mussels, chicken wings, chicken supreme and steak. Zero complaints. Will be recommending to everyone we know of going to Derry!

Very good quality food and accommodating staff, good choice on the menu and reasonable offers on (2 courses £31.50) some items heavily supplemented on the menu (steaks 7-9£ more and scallops for started was maybe 6£ more. Restaurant is nicely spaced out between tables and has a lovely chilled out vibe. Anyway food was delicious, service was good, I had mussels for started which were genuinely 10/10 very very good! Steak was cooked to rare as requested and was really good , I had a lovely crust and really well seasoned, I found it strange for the steak to be presented on the plate alone with a trickle of puree and pepper sauce (no veg or garnish)? That’s just a personal opinion. Sides were delicious Panna cotta for desert again beautiful! All in all great dining experience

The food in general was of excellent quality. My husband had Seafood Chowder which he said was delicious as a starter and I had Mussels in a chilli rag which was equally tasty. I had Fillet Steak for my main and my husband had Duck Breast. Both meals were cooked and seasoned beautifully and were simply delicious to eat. The staff were very friendly and helpful.

Having had an excellent lunch here about 5 years ago, we booked here for a family of 5 people up from Dublin to watch the Gaelic Football match in Celtic Park (Dublin won!). We had a table in the front with a comfortable ambiance. The menu was varied and suited everyone. Some interesting choices. One of our party has a peanut allergy. In addition to the menu listing allergens, when she was informed of the peanut allergy, our waiter responded very professionally. She went to the kitchen to double check. Our food and service was excellent, particularly given it was a busy Saturday night. All round very enjoyable meal.

Early Bird Menu on a Friday evening . Well looked after by staff. We had a starter/main excellent. Guinness bread a treat with the delicious soup.

Was looking forward to dining here after being recommended to us as we were visiting the city for the first time. First impressions, the restaurant looked nice, didn’t look overly busy although we waiting for 5/10 mins before we were acknowledged and shown to our seat. The young waitress then said she would b back in 5 minutes with the menu. This took about 10 minutes and it was a lad who realised we hadn’t been served and addressed it with the waitress. Again after we ordered the food too about 40 mins so in total we were in there an hour before we got any food. When the food eventually came it was well presented and tasted good. Desert was also good and service for this was much faster. There wasn’t much of an atmosphere in the restaurant. We were going to stay for a few cocktails but decided to leave. Not sure I would return.

A classy restaurant which had a great menu. Their goats cheese starter was delicious and they had a good selection of wines. Friendly welcoming staff and good value.

We came up from Belfast to Derry for a few days for my sister’s birthday and took her to Browns in Town for her birthday dinner. It was so good. We’ve been here before a few years ago so we knew it was a good place to dine. And we weren’t disappointed. Good menu choices. Food was really well prepared and tasted amazing. Staff were very friendly and attentive. My 3 favourite desserts were all on the menu too (Creme brûlée, lemon tart and pannacotta) - I didn’t know which one to go for but the glazed lemon tart won out. It was one of the best tarts ever. Excellent overall. Will definitely be back agin.

We’ve been to Browns in the Town a few times before as well as their other venues and as usual they lived up to the high expectations we wanted - food and presentation was really great and staff were excellent but then we expected that. Well done Browns and we’ll be back again soon

Unfortunately I was sadly disappointed with my lunch on this occasion. My granddaughter and I have visited you several times over the last two years and consider you to be our favourite restaurant in Belfast. I must say at this point, my granddaughter who is 14 years old thoroughly enjoyed her meal and was quite happy with the visit. However I didn't enjoy the chicken and lentil soup which was probably down to my preferences so I have no complaint about it. The problem was the pan seared cod I had for main. It was over done and consequently tough and dry in the mouth. Any where else I would have put it down to a bad choice on my part, but no this is Browns and I expect better. I guess it may have been one of those glitches that sometimes happen in kitchens, so both of us will visit you again, next time we have something to celebrate. Take care Anthony Quinton.

Booked for my partners birthday dinner and when booking asked if they could do something special to mark the occasion. We were given a booth and when bringing out the dessert had happy birthday wrote on my partners plate ❣️ Food was amazing and the staff was so attentive, couldn't recommend this establishment highly enough! Thanks for such a special night!

Overall a very good experience at Browns! The food was of the best quality and the staff were very friendly and easy to talk to. The only draw back for us was that there was a very loud table of 8 just directly across from us, that got louder with each drink consumed. This was no fault of the restaurant at all and will not hinder me in returning to the restaurant very soon!!

Browns in town is a charming restaurant that offers delicious local cuisine. The staff is incredibly friendly and always willing to suggest the meal of the day. During my visit, the restaurant was not crowded, making it easy to find a free table to order. The waiters were impressively quick and attentive, providing polite and efficient service throughout my meal.

A really fantastic surprise. First time there but not the last. Staff joined in the craic and banter with us and helped time slip by. Food well above average (really great) and service matched. Value for money? - absolutely.

Delightful meal! We had just checked in to the Holiday Inn Express and the front desk reccomended this restaurant... We were a bit ahead of the pack as the place was very crowded when we left - Derry was unbelievably busy!

Reception was welcoming and friendly. One of our friends was slightly late but we were given plenty of time to peruse the menu and make our choices. My fish chowder was excellent as was the accompanying bread. My venison was beautifully presented and was as good as any that I have ever had. The accompanying side orders (the 4 of us shared 2 mixed vegetables 1 chips and 1 champ) Were equally good. Needless to say everything was served hot. The other three concurred with my opinions. We all decided that desert would be superfluous and finished with coffee. The bill was surprisingly moderate for the the quality of our lunch.

The food was excellent as usual. Unfortunately, however, we had to wait over 45 minutes for our main course. As we had come to Derry to see the Halloween parade, we were very disappointed that we missed a good part of it due to the lateness of our meal. We appreciate the restaurant was very busy, but there we’re other tables who arrived after us and received their meal before us. Has not put us off visiting Browns.

Amazing location, great food and great gluten free options with the vegetarian menu having everything apart from one item adaptable if not already suitable for a coeliac. Staff friendly and have good knowledge of allergens and portion sizes are perfect for a 5star place!!

The staff were attentive to our needs, very helpful and at all times respectful and polite. Our lunch was beautifully presented and tasted fantastic and reasonably priced. The atmosphere in the restaurant was welcoming and relaxing, with music playing at a level that allowed us to chat comfortably without distraction. The lunch menu options had something for everyone's taste and dietary requirements. This has been our second time lunching at Browns in Town and we plan to return again very soon.

Beautiful restaurant with delicious food, great wine list, and nice ambience. We just walked up and they sat us right before closing but like we need a reservation if you're going during peak hours.

We come here whenever we are in the area as it is one of the best restaurants around. On this occasion the food did not disappoint, however the service was not the usual standard.

Just out from dinner here, the food was lovely and everyone was attentive..my only issue was the perspex that wrapped around our area..it was filthy with sauce and other stains ..let the place down a bit ..but not the food.

Perfectly cooked fish and crunchy fluffy chips. All 3 of us were very happy with our meals and attentive service. Although the restaurant was quiet earlier, I'm not surprised that it soon filled up.
