In Ireland, there are bars, food shops and gas stations that have what's called an off-license to sell alcohol for removal from the premises. We stopped in to obtain fixings for an Aperol Spritz. Aperol is a bright orange aperitif with a zesty orange and complex herbal flavor and a touch of vanilla. The ratio is 3:2:1 of Aperol, a dry Prosecco, and club soda. Then you add a slice of fresh orange for garnish. It’s a fantastic drink on a hot day. 7Twenty Bar was near our hotel and “fit the bill.” Their assortment liquor was varied and quantities large. It was a good place to shop.

During a visit to the shops I sat next to a man that hadn't washed this year, I swear. He asked me and my wife our religion and when we said RC he said..."It's a good job." Put me off shopping in Derry. Think I'll stay in Donegal.

15 Waterloo StreetAs we were staying down the road we thought we would check out the local pubs the Rocking chair seemed to be for locals but they were ever so friendly,a nice pint of lager at a cheaper price than other bars.We will be back.

2-3 Shipquay Place, Derry BT48 6DH Northern IrelandThis looks lovely and has a nice vibe. The food however was disappointing. The full breakfast consisted of reheated, shrivelled meat. The pancakes were dry and cold and burnt. The coffee was decent but generally we were very disappointed, waste of money I’m afraid.

21 Strand RdWe were a group of 4 friends who visited Derry for the night. We had a very enjoyable meal. The food was fabulous, very tasty and well presented. The only negative comment was that we didn't see a vegetarian or vegan main option on the menu. I'm sure it wouldn't have been a problem for the kitchen if there was a requirement. On entry, the restaurant feels like it needs a bit more in terms of decor, to make it feel more welcoming. It would benefit from some more artwork or colour/ lighting to provide a warmer, cosier, atmosphere. We all enjoed our meal, the service was excellent and we would recommend this restaurant the others. Thank you.
