Best place in Chester for real Italian delicacies. We went in search of the San Pellegrino Chinotto (it's so delicious, yet so hard to find in the UK!) and Marco was very helpful and had some in stock :) thank you and happy New year!

Stopped off during a walk on the walls and it was a lovely little break. Ciabatta and sandwiches were fresh (even on a Sunday!) and the coffee was a) authentic, b) large and c) hot - the only three things I look for in a coffee. Will visit again.

Sería fácil pasar por alto este pequeño y pintoresco restaurante situado en las murallas históricas, pero hacerlo significaría perderse una delicia. Pequeño, pero interesante y extremadamente sabroso menú y delicioso café. El personal fue muy amable y simpático. Probamos dos de los Ciabatta hechos a medida. . . . . . . ¡absolutamente preciosa!

Mi esposo y yo encontramos este pequeño lugar mientras caminábamos por las paredes de Chester, cerca de Northgate. Hay muy pocas mesas y creo que mucha de la comida está lista para llevar.La cafetería está impecablemente limpia. Los dos miembros del personal son amables y muy eficientes y la comida recién preparada es, oh - deliciozo. Ambos habíamos llenado ciabattas, que eran crujientes y muy, muy sabroso.Si estamos en el área nuevamente, definitivamente regresaremos. Muy recomendable.

Un lugar encantador en las Paredes (acceda a los escalones de Northgate). Una pequeña zona para sentarse en el interior es muy íntima. Tuvimos dos preciosas chapas preparadas con los mejores ingredientes. Sin duda volveremos por más! Muy recomendado?

This place is amazing. The owners were very welcoming and friendly and the food is like nothing else around. The most authentic panini I've had outside of Italy. All fresh ingredients and some of the best coffee as well. A must if you're visiting Chester!

This is one of Chesters little gems. Top notch Italian cafe with original food and drink. Marco is a master at his art. Bellissimo.

We were walking round the walls and just came upon Gustum. We only had time for coffee but can’t wait to try the sandwiches. The coffee was absolute perfection. The staff were also really friendly and the care they took over the sandwiches was phenomenal

Visited while doing the Chester wall walk. Really enjoyed the drinks we had - the hot chocolate was particularly good. Very friendly staff, and very helpful.

Gustum is small but bright and airy, up on Chester city walls. The coffee and ciabatta I had were excellent and good value and I had a lovely chat with the very friendly staff (one of the owners I believe). Well worth a visit.

Popped in for a coffee and snack. So glad we did. Charming place. Great food, really fresh and tasty. Friendly staff and a very relaxing atmosphere will definitely visit again. Ciabatta was fantastic, far superior to any other I have had in Chester.

My husband, his daughter and I stopped in Gustum for lunch. The menu is limited and our daughter wanted a salad. It is not on the menu. The waitress heard her and stopped by to say she would make her up a salad. It was delicious, fresh and crispy with lettuces, artichoke, tomatoes, peppers, etc. the place only seats about ten people but its worth a try if you are in the area. Very friendly and the food is freshly made.

Tucked away on the walls at Northgate. In fact walked past it yesterday. Had a super coffee and ciabatta. Owners very friendly. Will take family next time in Chester.

Marco and Magda are exceptionally friendly and make you feel so welcome. Best coffee in Chester by a mile and the food is freshly prepared and locally sourced - I recommend whatever is on special as they are always delicious. Also you MUST try the cannoli they are exquisite! Dogs and babies/young children welcome and will love it here!

On a recent day trip to Chester we found this marvellous place for lunch on the walls near Northgate. We had two delicious made-to -order sandwiches followed by the best coffee we have had for ages accompanied by cannoli. Gustum also has a lovely relaxed atmosphere and the owner Marco and his partner were very helpful and attentive. A clear five star rating in our book.

I had an amazing latte, best coffee in Chester I've found so far. The location is great - right on the city wall. I had an ciabatta which was exquisitely prepared with creme brule torch. The taste was magnificent, I've spent time in Italy and this is the authentic taste. A definite 5 stars all the way.

A genuine hidden gem in the heart of Chester. A simple but very smart venue that, at the time of our visit had artwork from the Chester Open Art Exhibition displayed on the walls.

Popped in here as the trek along the walls took its toll on some of our group. Others did the same. Met by genial host Marco and his girlfriend who explained what they do and how. No airs and graces here, just very tasty food produced by hand to order. A distinct rustic air to the presentation - but don't let that put you off because the food is clean and delicious. The added air of nonchalance as he picks herbs to add to the food is pretty cool too. Personally, I'd recommend the ciabattas - filled with delicious treats.
