Stay away. I have ordered from them and waited for 1 hour and 30 minutes, called them and politely asked for updates and the only communication was that the driver is on his way. I asked for a refund, the person was asking for my card details including the CVV and expiry date(this seemed very off). I spoke to another person on the phone after I did not want to provide my card details and was told that they are going through management change and the refund will be processed. 2 weeks later, I have to charge back through my card issuer. Too bad it went downhill, it was a decent place before.

The food was good but portions very small. Spent over £40.00 but not a free papadum!! Arena Club will be my favourite!! Great portions and great tasting food! And complimentary papadums!!

given it was a buffet it was great and my kids first indian it was perfect. but i have had better. Staff were lovely. However, we all left happy and nice to find a local curry house open for lunch!

My husband and my daughter went to have lunch at the Guru Tandoori on Long Lane today. On Sundays they have a buffet for £14. The way the staff treated Asian people in the restaurant was disgusting and totally out of order. I won’t go into details but If you want to eat Indian food please avoid this place. This is an experience of one of our neighbour. This is not exceptable from Guru Tandoori staff.

Not good .Staff seemed reluctant to help.They made a fuss as I complained about food .I will not go back. It used to be nice once but now run down .waiters were pathetic, not helpful.They made all 6 of us, feel like we were begging them. Not a customer friendly.Stay away unless you are desperate. Even a customer was complaining about giving the wrong take away.portions small and food came warm not hot.not recommend.

Not good at all. I had take aways on a couple of occasions hoping it would get better but I was wrong. The lamb was though as old boots, all food was sooooo greasy that I had to drain it out - not nice at all, the papadums were all chewy not crisp and fresh. Overall, just not nice at all. And really pricey for what it was. Will not be ordering from there again. Maybe eating in is different and the quality of food is better. But take aways - no no no.

Ordered a lamb with spinach curry. Every piece of lamb was tough as boots and full of gristle. Never ordering from this establishment again.

Our go-to restaurant to dine in and home delivery. Well it was until last Sunday's delivery. Papadams tasted gross, like they were cooked in old oil that should have been thrown away. My usual Veg Biriyani tasted cheap mix of spices. My friends meals were just as bad. Sadly will not risk ordering from them again.

Decided to try this place last minute this evening for a takeaway. Being such a fussy eater I was hesitant as I've previously had to send food back to other local restaurants due to the lack of quality. The staff were very attentive even though I wasn't there long and when I got home I was pleasantly suprised. I had a vindaloo which wasn't too spicy (so added extra chilli as I like it hot) but the flavour and meat texture was spot on for me. I'll give it 5 stars once I've tried other dishes.

Came a few Sundays ago, a new guy in a blue flowery shirt with a beard, was very rude. He only said can collect & was forcing us to leave.Father rang today to ask questions about if there was any world cup games showing & reserve a table,same guy hanged up the phone. We like the food but service has got poor recently .The old staff were better than this, hope management can look in to this and improve.

I’m a regular at Guru and it’s one the best Indian I’ve tried especially in the Finchley area. The mixed grill and lamb biryani never disappoints.

First time ordering from here. Food was amazing and not too oily.

Understated, yet a great place with excellent food. I can't claim to be an expert on Indian food, I simply know, when something tastes very good.

Unfortunately let down twice when visiting. Poor service (borderline rude on one occasion) and below average food (not even cooked properly one time). Shame as I would like it to be decent as the area is lacking for good indian cuisine and is very local to me. Some people seem to like it so bear in mind that this is a personal view and I hate to give a bad review. Perhaps I've just had two unlucky experiences. Hopefully this helps with customer feedback. Nothing here wasn't mentioned to staff when visiting.

Excellent restaurant avec une musique ambiante sympa et un personnel souriant et qui se montre prêt à toutes nos questions ! Les repas sont très copieux et les prix sont très raisonnables. Nous avons pris un chicken tikka biryani, un butter chicke’ (chicken makani sur la carte), 1 keema naan (de l’agneau épicé à l’intérieur), 1 onion kulcha naan. Si vous passez par Finchley, c’est une adresse à ne pas manquer !

Très bon restaurant avec un personnel très sympathique. L'ambiance est cosy, les prix sont plus que corrects. Attention cependant : la noix de coco est très présente dans les plats à base de ce produit (comme le Poulet Tikka Korma) et certains plats comme le tikka massala sont légèrement sucré.

Sunday buffet excellent wide choice all freshly cooked and always topped up with freshly cooked food Went there for a family meal early tonight excellent service the food was excellent we had a selection of Tandori and curry dishes the lamb dishes were beautiful. Tasty Indian food, likely the best in this area. Prices are acceptable, but a little bit on the upper side.

Very poor service, staff possible one of the owners. He was very rude, when I asked what was delaying our food. I walked out of the restaurant. My stupid paid the full bill. They had no courtesy to apologise or offer my friend a goodwill discount. For sure will not be going there in the future or recommend anyone to go there.

Have been coming here for 10+ years. The atmosphere, food and prices used to be amazing. Unfortunately over lockdown they’ve redone the place, doubled the prices and reduced the quality. Really poor choice of lighting on the ceiling which makes the chicken in a curry appear pink and raw. It’s too quiet in the restaurant, it’s awkward.

The atmosphere of the restaurant is very nice, the light can change in any colour, the food is high quality. The value of the money is very good. Is an amazing traditional restaurant.

The Guru is a friendly, welcoming restaurant with great food!

I really enjoy Guru. The new layout and decor is nice and simple. The food had always been great and I like the Bangladeshi style of food (Bangla beer is really good). Guru and Sun and Sand are competing a shoot-out at the moment and they're neck and neck.

One of the tastiest Indian meals we have had. It's the place to go to when feeling down or wanting to celebrate a special occasion.

In my opinion it's the best Indian restaurant in the Finchley Central area. Their Chicken Tika Bhuna and the Paneer Bhuna are both awesome. It's also very reasonably priced.

Nothing changes about the Guru,twenty years using,in and out,had one of the best parties ever in there with all my family great food as always,helpful,caring staff,quality food at fair prices,and now a new decor,this is the only place for curries in London ,thanks for being my local .

Excellent, classic Indian restaurant. Always a welcoming atmosphere.

Had a take away over Christmas. Quite disappointed, as things seem to have changed for the worse. The Guru used to serve up excellent food, decent portion sizes and at reasonable prices. Prices have been massively increased, and the food quality is just about acceptable, but nowhere near as good as it used to be. If I am paying these increased prices I expect much better food. Such a shame, The Guru was great for many years, but sadly this is no longer the case - now just average.

Just been back to Guru Tandoori since their refurb and we had a great meal. Tandoori king prawns were utterly delicious as was everything we had. Much better surroundings and service was impeccable and super friendly. Good luck guys - we will be back!

The best restaurant in the whole of Finchley, for at least the last 20 years. Management and staff and food is second to none. Always recommend.

0 Value for money, as the portions are too small for what you pay. The service was horrendous, the waiter that served us (aged) had so much attitude and was so much of a rush. Got our order wrong as well and did not even come to apologise. The only time he would looked at us is when we wanted to order and when we had to pay. I would not recommend this place unless you want to get disappointed..

Food is OK but didn't receive my full order. Paid £4 for 2 naans. Didn't get them.
