Sea Life Fish & Chips & Kebab in Barnet

I have never used this fish and chip shop and will never use again. Stopped to get a quick portion of chips and 6 hot wings. When it was eventually ready I asked the chips to be open not wrapped and he just threw the chips that he'd already put salt and vinegar on back in chip fryer and served hot wings with just a few and I mean a few( around 15 chips) around the hot wings then charged £6.90 !!! Not sure if he understood English even. Bad experience and very expensive shop. Will never be going back.

Good trad style (deep fryer) Fish and Chip shop, also has a grill so can have kebab if you fancy, Fish was amazing. Staff are cool, we travel past 2 chip shops to go to this one, also takes cash payment on deliveries.

I made an order and received this in the delivery. Food was messy. Chips was covered like it was half eaten and left over. My main concern was the chips. Stale and hard chips. The shop had the audacity to serve me chips that were probably cooked a day or 2 ago. It was stale and hard and was disgusting to the point were it made me gag. The sauces he put just looked like someone mixed it with their foot. Never ordering from them again. Just because it was a delivery order doesn’t mean you don’t take care of the food as you would with orders in the shop. I called and asked why did you serve me old chips and he couldn’t even give a reason to why!! Call yourself a fish and chips shop yet you can’t even serve fresh chippies. I paid nearly £20 for what? This is my last order from these guys and I hope they fix themself up by actually cooking fresh fish and chips like normal high standard shops would and not just serve any old trash!

We've been using Sea Life for a long time. After tonight we won't be using them again. Ordered £50 of food at 6pm. Chased them up an hour and a half later and told it was on its way. Chased them up again and finally ended up driving down to them to see where the food was. They said it had been delivered but when asked where to and who the food was handed to, things got a bit sketchy. No offer to put things right and I don't appreciate being called a liar. Shame because the food was always really nice.

Normally very good and great at most things but the shops phone line appears to not be working so cannot order

Over cooked batter and the oil used was not fresh.

Unbelievably fresh today (Monday evening). Meat was succulent and soft. Sealife special - the onions, mushrooms and peppers, i would pay money for this only. Everything top quality, pleasantly surprised.

Regrettably two saveloys were just above cold which is a shame because they were nice and plump and not dried out. The small doner was made even smaller as it was on top of a bed of rice in a small container but it was tasty. It arrived in quick time but I would have been happy to wait ten mins longer to get hot cooked saveloys. Chips were nice !

£7.80 piece of medium cod was tiny, I have a photo of it as I couldn’t believe my eyes. Rip off price but the food they delivered was nice to eat but the cod size for the price was unacceptable.

The salad was not fresh neither was the lamb kebab. Also, the salad was incorrect in two of the kebabs.

Fish doesn't come with chips. No option to add chips, the only option is to buy cheese on chips. Disappointing. Fix your broken menu please.

Couldn't believe it when I opened up a Medium Lamb Shish, to find they only give you 5 small bits of meat on top of rice, honestly, it was like a kids meal for almost £9!! Will not order from here again, those portion sizes are embarrassing.

The chip portions were generous and nice and hot and v tasty. We had sausages in batter and a saveloy which were massive and again hot and crispy batter (not soggy or tiny like some chippies). A very good chippy, delivered before expected time and great value.

Ordered grill fish ! Had more bones that fish. Didn’t state it was a whole fish with bones. Chicken doner was dry with hard bits that were burn. The chip portion was tiny. Not a good experience.

I always order fish and chips from here but today I ordered a small cod, chicken kebab and doner kebab and small Chips however they put a plastic tray for the tiny portion of small chips and placed the cod on top of the chips, when it arrived it was soggy and Luke warm !! The chips were terrible as was the soggy fish, I called sealife to complain only to be told the person who did my order had gone home !! Well done sealife you’ve lost a loyal customer !!

Bit on the pricey side but the quality of food speaks for itself. After all you get what you pay for.

I'm sorry but absolutely disgusting. I ordered large doner, four chicken fillet burgers and one quarter pounder beef burger came to £47.56. Apart from the quarter pounder all the chicken fillet burgers were over cooked and my doner was bone dry with stale edges. I emailed the store and it was bounced back saying their inbox was full. When ringing they did not answer. I threw my doner away. Additionally I took advantage of the 5% discount by ordering on their own website but it calculated 5% of 47.56 as 0.44p !! Avoid !

Just had cod and chips delivered this evening. The food was so delicious. It was freshly cooked and piping hot. We are regularly customers, but this time it was superb.

The food had a foul smell. Called the restaurant and asked for a refund. The restaurant agreed and a refund was given. Will never order again!

Ordered medium cods and chips. Fish was thin, small and tasteless. Completely ripped off with fish sizes. If you want value for money with your fish and a great I taste, I’d recommend you drive to Borehamwood’s golden plaice. Steer clear of Sea Life if you don’t want open wallet surgery with overpriced portions and tasteless fish !

The cod was supposed to be a medium but was half the size of the one I had from them last week.

Chips n other items were great but unfortunately the cod was a very thin piece which made it very greasy. The rock was very nice, thick and meaty

Chips were delicious, everything else was pretty standard. Portions of chips aren't very generous. Would definitely still use based on the chips alone.

Love there fish and chips usually order delivery..but whent there as was passing....they do not take cash....lucky for me they had a cashpoint on corner shop...however there was a charge for this service.. Not a lot....but fir future food...I will order on line...or make sure I have cash on me

Sea Life Special food quality today was very poor. The fish and chips was good. All the meat in the Sea Life Special, especially the donners, mushrooms etc were very hard, and were either really over cooked or were old food reheated. We could not eat them, they were so bad. We have ordered many times from Sea Life, and most times their food has been good, but there have been a few occasions like today, where it is extremely poor. Given today's experience, it is unlikely that we will order again from Sea Life, at least for the foreseeable future....

Always lovely fresh food delivered hot and on time. This is my go to restaurant for kebabs.

I received two out of date pasties in packaging that had been slightly teared open. These are frozen pasties that have been cooked in their plastic packaging, out of data and potentially contaminated because the packaging of the actual pasties has been opened slightly in places

Calamari were frozen calamari rings, not fresh ones. Chips were over fried or re-heated. Cod was ok.

Just had a so called “large” portion of chips and it was pathetic. I live no more than a 3 minute walk from the chip shop and they were already luke warm by the time I got home, plus the portion was minuscule! I also got told that the chips weren’t mine as i took them from the counter. One “large” portion of chips isn’t exactly a difficult order and they seemed to struggle with just that.

Went there today just to eat a lil something, went for the curry and chips and it was the worse ive ever encountered. Warming up curry in a microwave to still taste like polystyrene. Chips were half decent. For a small box it cost me £2.10??? Had to chuck away the remainder of chips as it was filthy. Wish i could get refunded
