Gurkha Majestic Dining in Wychavon

Went on a work event all food was preordered it was terrible from start to finish not ready when we arrived several members of the party were delivering food and clearing tables when we finally got our main it was nearly 9pm they were just not prepared for us. Sadly it has put me off returning

I thought I was being unfair to not rate the food from this place by my previous experience on a take out about a year ago so decided to join a recent works do. I'm a foodie so thats one thing that has to go right for me. So I'm sorry to say my initial thoughts were correct and wont be trying out this place again. Staff need to be more organised, more attentative. The place had nice decor downstairs however, regardless of whether holding a group party or having a private family meal the service needed to reflect its majestic name and it just wasn't that at all. I have to be honest and say the food was poor. Meat starters were mixed in with vegetarian food which isn't great for vegetarians. A lot of colouring is used on the food which is a total put off. I ordered a prawn balti and asked for extra chillies to which they kindly said they would take away my dish and make it spicy only to find they brought me back a chicken dish....when I eventually got back my prawn dish it was no better than the first time so ended up just having my chillies that I originally asked for just with wasted time. By that time everyone else in my group more or less had finished their food. The best part of the night was to see everyone outside of work. Would I be visiting again...No Rating Id give out of 10 a generous 3/4

I was really looking forward to my Friday night curry here given my love of Nepalese food and the positive reviews. I found parking was a bit of a pain, it was very busy adjacent the restaurant and I don't know the area. The greeting was pleasant enough although they didn't seem at all interested in my booking details. We sat upstairs, it's not what you would call cosy, there are no soft furnishings, and the noise reverberated off hard surfaces. Being busy the noise levels were more than intrusive. Not a great place for a romantic night out I would suggest. I have always been impressed by the legendary Nepalese friendliness, they always seem to go above and beyond but disappointingly it wasn't the experience here. I am not sure if we had the B Team upstairs but our waitress hadn't got a clue when it came to the intricacies of the menu. Drinks first and 10 minutes after ordering a large bottle of Cobra I was advised that they don't have any. A pint it was then, but watch out for the cost of a half. 10 minutes later and the wife's peach bellini arrived. 10 minutes after that and her glass of water arrived. The staff and I seemed to struggle to understand each other but I don't usually have a problem. Poppadoms of course, and then we opted for a sheekh kebab to share. When I asked what would be the most flavoursome Nepalese dish, she said the Madras, really? When I asked about the pilau rice she said they just add food colouring. Authentic it isn't. On seeking advice from another waiter he suggested the Tawa so I took it. The wife thought she would play safe and had a balti. The kebab was very good although I am not sure if it had got anywhere near the tandoor. My Tawa was OK not hot as I was hoping for and very slightly sweet which was pleasant. I am not sure about the non stick frying pan tawa though, The wife's Balti wasn't very nice - oily, and therefore thin in flavour with a heavy peppery taste. She couldn't eat it but we couldn't attract anyone to tell them. The sides were very good apart from the boiled rice which came with food colouring, I suspect it was pilau rice which we didn't actually order. The service wasn't attentive, they hadn't cleared our starter plates when the mains arrived. We weren't approached during our meal, either to see if everything was OK, or if we would like more drinks. It took a bit of time to get the bill, then we had a slight battle to get the almost untouched balti removed from the bill. It's not a cheap place but at least they don't add a service charge. I left very disappointed, more so as it was a 20 mile trip home. Despite all the above I would like to give it another try, say midweek and using my intuition regarding the menu, the Everest's curry perhaps.

The food was insanely good! Great service and a lovely atmosphere. Makes perfect sense why it was lovely and busy in a Thursday night.

The food, service and delivery was good. Just a shame for Gurkha because of such heavy traffic after the motorway closed unfortunately, my food was cold but this is not Gurkha fault by any means - my preferred meal is without microwaving it.

Second visit to Droitwich Spa and a second visit to the Gurka Majestic a must. Staff amazing, food out of this world and delivery second to none! We will come back to Droitwich Spa just to visit the Gurka Majestic!

I went last night had the best chicken balti ever. Staff are so lovely as usual with Nepalese people. The price was great value for money. My first visit certainly will not be my last . Well done keep up the great standard.

Amazing from start to finish, the staff from when we entered the restaurant couldn't do enough ... felt like we were in Nepal and made all the experience more special. Food melted in our mouths, and flavours were amazing.. definitely converted from normal Indian curry 🥰😍.

Found this place by googling restaurants near me when on a business trip. Various website reviews were all positive. Therefore gave it a go. It was quiet (unusually according to the local diners) but this didn't spoil our experience. Staff were friendly and the meal was outstanding. I ordered the chilli prawns, pilau rice and garlic naan bread. What a good choice. Spicy hot and large prawns. Totally satisfying meal and at a fair price. Going to make it a regular haunt when working in the location again. Will almost make staying away from home worth it.

The food was Nice as normal but my husband ordered the lamb mo mo which came with no salad or sauce like it usually does and the poppadums were all crushed so just abit disappointed. Also the driver nearly knocked out door down and was miserable not one of there normal drivers.

Utterly brilliant! I messed up my ordering for delivery nd it was the kids meal I got wrong 😱 but I ordered the one curry for collection with a note and it was ready by the time I got there 🙏🏻

First visit and won't be our last. A really enjoyable experience and the staff were great. Very attentive and passionate about the food they were serving and the delivery of service. Nothing was too much trouble and the food exceeded the expectation set. We would suggest reserving your table as for a early Tuesday evening when we went, we were surprised how busy it was, with many more diners arriving during our meal. Highly recommend.

Always love visiting here, always looked after by the staff the curries are exceptional. On my last visit I wanted garlic chilli chicken and even though it didn’t appear on the menu they were happy to make it and it was one of the best ones I’d had. 😊

Got a takeout. Asked for no fresh coriander (cilantro) on any of the dishes and they were really careful not to as no dishes did. Food used fresh ingredients, the paneer wasn’t squeaky. Good vegetarian selection. Only criticism is that the food wasn’t as hot as it could’ve been and needed a bit more salt. But the food was good and I would order from again.

Wasn’t a particularly good curry, and I left most of it. However, they are the only place that delivers before 6pm.

Lovely restaurant with amazing food!

NEGATIVES Our 1st visit here & last! With Gold awards & exceptional reviews, we wanted to treat my son & his girlfriend to a spectacular meal, for their Birthday's. This was not the case. We had booked a table, but when we walked in they never asked our name after me explaining we had booked a table, we sat & waited until a table was ready. Service was quite slow to start with, ordering drinks & food & the wait inbetween. Starters were lovely, huge portions too. My main meal came out on it's own, no sides, just my meal. Obviously I had to wait for the rest of my food to come out & for the rest of my family to have there's brought out also. Almost 10mins, then the rest of my family got there meals. By this time my curry was warm. My son & his girlfriend had no cutlery & not recieved there rice. Trying to get someone's attention was non existent so I got up to ask someone myself. After our meal, the waitress who really needs to smile, asked if we would like a dessert menu. Yes please I replied. Chatting away & 15 mins later still no menu. I ask another waitress who again apologises & says she will get one. 15 mins later still no menu, this is a joke. Service went from slow to stopped. So fed up at this point, I ask someone for the bill. Guess what! They bring it to me straight away! POSITIVES Food was nice, great portion size, good value for money & 1 waiter who was lovely. Nice funny guy. You need more of him in the restaurant. Maybe others could learn from him. I'm sorry but the service was one big let down!

First time here and was very impressed with staff and food. Ordered starters and mains, starters came and portions were very generous. Food was lovely and when we finished we were asked how long did we want to wait until mains came which was a good touch as often mains come far too quickly these days. Again mains were excellent and the local Gurka beer was very nice. Will certainly return.

We recently moved to the area and all I can say is this place serves amazing food & staff are lovely! So happy to have this on our doorstep!

Late and cold - such a shame, usually a brilliant take away

We were there with my nephew and his fiancee who live near the Gurkha Majestic but had never been. They'd heard good things so we went, and we weren't disappointed. We arrived at 7pm and the place wasn't over full but by 7.30 pretty much all the tables were occupied and stayed that way - for a Monday evening I think that says a lot! We were shown to our table and the staff were welcoming, friendly, polite and professional. The table was nicely laid and the tablecloths were spotless - all good so far. We had poppadoms that were light, crispy and fresh - poppadoms are sometimes greasy or a bit stale, not these - they were the nicest I've had in years and the condiments were fresh and appetising too. For starters we had lamb momo, chicken momo, crispy honey chicken, and lamb seekh kebab - all fabulous. I'd never had momo before and it was spicy (but not blow your head off) and the dipping sauce is a creamy triumph. Then we had lamb dreamland, chicken gurhka tawa, chicken korma, butter chicken, garlic cheese naan, keema naan, pilau rice and plain naan. All the food was hot, freshly prepared, nicely presented and delicious, and the plates were hot too. Three of us ate every scrap and the fourth took her leftovers home for lunch the next day so absolutely not one morsel went to waste. No dessert - we were all too full. Chocolate mints arrived with the bill. For drinks we had a Gurkha beer - light and refreshing, a mojito - just right and three Coke/Diet Coke. My nephew kindly picked up the bill to celebrate my husband's birthday and our 40th wedding anniversary so I don't know the exact cost but it came in at around £27 per head which considering the standard of food and service is an absolute bargain. Never been before but would happily go again. As an additional piece of information the loos are clean, modern and a pleasure to use.

Have been a few times, and always been brilliant, took some friends last night and really disappointed. Had some poppadoms to table, but then brought starters but didnt clear empty plates away, took over 50 mins for main course to arrive, and when it did, portion of the dip was spilt over one of the guests, it was all over his jeans, hands, table. Had to ask for cloths to clear up and not much of an apology. Then had to ask for an extra portion to be delivered, as obviously mine was on the floor and my guest. Had to ask several times for a knife and fork. I understand that accidents happen but they could have dealt with it better. Service was very slow, and other tables who arrived after us, got served alot quicker than us. Shame as food is always good but service let it down last night

One of the best curry houses I have sampled in a long time. A bit more expensive than your average but you definitely get what you pay for

How wonderful was our meal and the hospitality at Gurkha majestic. We were a party of 6 and everyone was super impressed, and we can't wait to go again. Best curry I have had for a long time.

Excellent home cooked food, run by a big welcoming team of staff that offer a good variety of Nepalese dishes. The tawa sweet and sour dish pictured was divine and like nothing I have had before in a restaurant. I can also highly recommend the ghurkha man which had pieces of chicken in; unique. It can get busy and a bit noisy at peak times, so book early to avoid disappointment.

One of the best Asian style restaurants around. Food is consistently good and service is first class. Nothing is too much trouble and waiters are very helpful.

They do the best malekhu fish curry. Absolutely delicious and packed with white fish and black mustard seeds in a tomato and coconut milk curry sauce. Perfection!

A debut visit to this busy Nepalese restaurant that had been recommended by friends. They were right to do so. Really great food, spiced to perfection, delicious taste. Very good and super friendly service. A great night. We will return for sure.

Food was late which was disappointing, never had a proper explanation when I rang up considering I’m a 5 minute drive away and no traffic….. food was therefore cold and spilt in bags etc. food is generally tasty but delivery was extremely disappointing - over 30 minutes after 7pm on a Sunday is not great! The restaurant giving a £3 refund on a £35 order - ridiculous

Cannot recommend this restaurant highly enough, from the greeting we received on arrival, to the excellent, friendly, service throughout our evening. The food was stunning, full of fresh flavours, great portion sizes and well presented. We will be back! Thank you for a lovely evening!

What a find. Meal was really tasty. Service 2nd to none. If you find yourself in Droitwich or even Bromsgrove or Worcester the Gurkha Majestic is a must.

Undoubtedly the best restaurant in Droitwich. There are quite a few other dining places but this one excels in all areas. Staff, ambience, surroundings and most of all the food.

Great food and service. Small free car park at rear. Not great views as on a main road. Food was excellent.

My girlfriend says it’s good, I believe her because she is a very a lovely and honest person. Trusssst G!

Amazing service, friendly without being over the top.

Everything about this place is second to none! The staff are friendly and on the ball. Atmosphere is always buzzing and the food is the beat we've ever had. The staff can't do enough for you. We always leave a tip. They are by far the best curry house we've ever been to. We use their takeaway as well. Superb.

Had a really lovely meal here on a Thursday evening. Obviously a popular place with regular customers as saw staff greeting other tables who had been before. Husband is gluten free, menu was clearly labelled and felt very confident when we spoke to the staff about it. Great food, great people. Will definitely look to return!

Ordered today for the first time, I'm so picky with curry and rice so have been putting it off a while, the mushroom pilau was perfectly cooked and the mushrooms were flavourful, but the Jalfreizi (chicken) was out of this world, ingredients chopped just the correct amount of chunky, lots of meat, I will be recommending you to EVERYONE I KNOW! you guys need some social media presence, what you do is phenomenal! Oh to add it said 50-70 minutes and it was about 25 minutes which was quite good because we were starving, I also finished the entire thing which normally I save some for the next day, I couldn't stop it was so tasty!

Delicious food. Good service. Spacious well lit room upstairs. No music, so easy to chat. Plenty of room between tables. We will be back.

I've been here a few times now and the food has been fantastic every time, full of flavour, good portions and reasonably priced. The ambience and atmosphere in the restaurant is really nice. The staff are very attentive and friendly.

The place offers lovely and calm dining area with plenty of seating space to accommodate solo, family or large groups. Foods are delicious and staff are very friendly. I will definitely dine again.

Unbelievably good food and the friendliest staff! Second time I’ve been and it’s been amazing both times, will definitely be back!

A group of us have been visiting monthly since August and the food is fantastic every time. Hari and the rest of the staff are great. The mixed kebab start is popular with our group, the Tawa Curries and Karahi curries are stunning! Couldn’t recommend more highly!

This was our first visit and it didn’t disappoint! What delicious food. We will be back and 100% recommend all the dishes but especially the Gurkha Curry!

Couldn't recommend it enough, absolutely brilliant at accommodating a large table of 18, they couldn't have been more helpful. Very attentive and friendly staff, the food was incredible, so tasty and very generous portions. Wrong food sent. Missing food!! When I contacted the restaurant all they could say was it’s been a busy night will look after you next time. This does not help us with the food that we ordered and was going to eat as a family TONIGHT!!! Absolutely disgraceful service and will not return.

40th birthday party with 18 guests. Food and service were exceptional! Special mention for Anuj and Hari. I was concerned that the firework candle would go out quickly, so Anuj timed the walk from the kitchen to table! Worked a treat. Memorable evening made more special because of the waiters interaction. Everyone loved their meals, even the kids!

We didn't book in advance and just turned up (midweek) at 7pm. Despite there being a party of 16 next to us, our service was good and the food excellent. We even got a card and free drink for my dad's 83rd birthday, which was a lovely gesture.

The staff at ‘Ghurka Majestic ’ especially the chefs , who produced the appetising , delicious meals and the exceedingly courteous waiters are worthy of commendation. Our meal choices were fabulous. My husband’s Special Mixed Tawa and my bespoke vegetable Methi Melai were mouthwatering. We were pleased to be seated at a round table resplendent with the linen tablecloths and napkins. We were impressed with the level of service and the food quality. This was our first trip to the Droitwich Restaurant. We look forward to future visits….. it’s not far from where we live in Worcester .

One of the nicest curry houses in the Midlands! Have been many times and have tried a wide variety of what has been on the menu and has never disappointed 👍 10/10 would recommend!

It was my first time in Gurkha Majestic,food was excellent and service too. I would love to go again with family. Highly recommended.

We booked a few days before and that was wise as it was so popular even in the early evening. Our welcome on arrival was excellent and the tables, cutlery, napkins everything was spotless. All the staff were very polite and friendly. Our orders were taken quickly, drinks served not long afterwards and the food was delicious. As far as my wife was concerned whilst her main course was excellent she was a little disappointed that for her liking, when it was served it wasn’t hot enough for her taste. She must have her food very warm indeed. (Not spicy warm) Will we return - yes we certainly will and next time I will check if her food is warm enough.

The food was amazing, however felt that there were perhaps too many staff and the service felt a bit intense, got asked three times within a really short amount of time if ready to order, which made us feel a little under pressure -same for checking in the meal, shame as food was so lovely and the experience was dampened by overly attentive staff. Would order takeaway next time 😊

Excellent food but very poor service. Food extremely slow to come, cocktail needed to be returned twice, white wine was not chilled and bill was incorrect. Senior staff were helpful. Starters and mains were flavoursome and not oily.
