Gurkha Bar & Restaurant in West Oxfordshire

Food was good here. But the two ‘nakharmauli’ waitress were in my nerves! I asked to give butter chicken order first coz my kid is hungry, they bring that at last. Took forever to get my check and swipe the card. So zero tip added!

Fantastic food and attentive, friendly staff. We had starters and mains and every dish was outstanding and nicely presented. We will definitely return and can highly recommend this little gem of a restaurant.

Can't fault this restaurant! The food was amazing! We were a group of 5 people and everyone loved it! So tasty and reasonably priced compared to some restaurants. Lovely staff too. Will definitely be back soon!

Must admit to be a little disappointed. I'm a fan of Nepalese/Gurkha cuisine, and I was looking forward to this having enjoyed some splendid meals in other Gurkha restaurants. Sadly, it didn't live up to my expectations. For a start there weren't that many Gurkha choices on the menu, which also has Indian and Chinese selections, so it isn't really a Gurkha restaurant; probably more accurate to say an Asian restaurant. Second, it advertises vegetarian options, which is true, but again not many, and not that exciting. The service was friendly enough but didn't give me the impression that they were doing their best to give me a great dining experience. The food was nice, better than some I've had, but I'm not sure, based on other restaurants, that it would really be a Nepalese meal. I might be being a bit mean with 3 stars, but I'm sure there are better options out there.

Everything in here is authentic. Pure Nepali food. Best restaurant ever in Euless. Makes my mouth water.

The soup I received was not up to standard. The chicken rice was stale, and there was an excessive amount of oil in the soup, giving it an overly oily and heavily spiced flavor. The only good dish was veg machurian.

Phenomenal Indian food. Try their chicken Tikka masala, you won't regret it.

I guess I won't be able to say anything about the food or atmosphere because I was shouted at and when I called back to get clarity on buffet timings. The first time I asked when do you have buffet and was told I'm sorry we don't have buffet right now. That didn't answer my question so I called back and was hung up on several times. When the employee finally took my call I was shouted at and hung up on again so I think I'm not going to bother going there even though it sounds really good online...

Momo achaar was soo good . And the amount of biryani was enough for 2 . definitely recommended

Quality food. My dish was excellent.

Ambuance is good. Service is decent. Food is tasty. I will not say all dishes are really good but momos for sure are very tasty and their chutney is to the point.

I usually eat here with my coworkers. Some of the best biryani have I’ve eaten around. I also had the goat curry. The meat was tender, and it was not all bones… Be careful, I get mild, and sometimes even that has a kick. Their garlic naan is good too.

Went in there on a Sunday night, had the most delicious food with quick service, good prices and friendly staff. Would highly recommend the Gurkha meat platter which arrived on a sizzling hot plate much to the amusement and interest of other diners that night. Will definitely be back when in the area again.

We have been coming to Gurkha for so many years now that they don't even ask if we need a menu. They treat you like family here. We love the chili momo, the tikka masala, peshwari naan.

The dumplings were absolutely amazing in addition to the cocktail I had. I can’t say which was best but it was so good I’m definitely bringing my friends here for a taste of Nepal.

Absolutely love all the food here, My favorite 3 dishes are the Chicken Tikka masala, Lamb biryani, and chicken chowmein... the proportions are great and priced just right. My husband and I love this place!

If you are in the business of selling food to customers, please don't focus solely on making money; prioritize quality as well. This restaurant's chicken momo was a complete disappointment, and I do not recommend it to anyone. Please stop selling such substandard momo to your customers.

This restaurant certainly lives up to it's high ratings. I made a beeline for this spot when I knew I'd be working nearby. It was around 8 pm on a Sunday evening, so pretty quiet. You're welcomed by staff who go above and beyond right from the outset. I spent a month in Nepal way back in 2003, so had a good idea what to expect. They may not have as many restaurants as Indian's or Bangladeshi do, but they certainly deliver when it comes to spicy food. I ordered the Nepalese curry ( medium strength and with lamb ) and this is slow cooked with ginger, garlic, onion, tomato, coriander, fresh masala. Also some jeera rice and two poppadum's to complete my dish. To accompany this, a bottle of Gurkha beer of course. The staff were very friendly and attentive. The meal was served in under fifteen minutes. I was tempted to order traditional momo as a starter but really was too impatient. It was delicious, the taste, texture and spices were an absolute heavenly delight. The lamb melted in your mouth. The portion size was also great. Often after a curry, you can't move. You sometimes need to wait a while to digest it. I felt content and really enjoyed my meal. No need for a desert, of course the traditional After Eight and a very reasonable bill, recommended.

Jhol Momo(dumplings) was great here, would suggest to anyone in euless area as it's very good peaceful vibe as well.

One of the worst momos I have eaten recently. At least learn how to make momos if you want to operate a Nepali restaurant. What a rip off! Frozen momos that were terribly overcooked. Avoid this place. Shameful that this place has such low standards.

I rarely leave bad reviews but I feel cheated today. Spent over $35 and I could barely eat anything that I ordered. How can you serve such bad quality food to customers paying you so much? Extremely disappointed! Please do not do this to your customers!

Terrible food at this place. As someone from Nepal, I cannot in good conscience recommend this place to anyone. Please go back to learning the basics of cooking. Use good quality ingredients and cook properly instead of serving sub par food.

Delicious food! Had Vegetable Momo, Malai Kofta, Palak Paneer, and Chicken Tikka Masala. All 3 were out of this world! Wait staff is so kind and the atmosphere is delightful!!!

Lots of tanginess, mustard oil smell all over food, be it chicken or goat curry. Never had such an awful taste and experience ever. Total waste of money. Highly NOT recommend!!

The service was great. We went there in the evening. The momo was good. Chicken 65 was amazing 10/10 for that. Mutton curry was a bit undercooked, very chewy. I recommend this place for sure 👌🏻

This place has been my favorite out of all the Indian food places I’ve tried before, the chicken tikka is delicious and it already comes with rice when you order it unlike other places that you have to pay for the rice also the garlic naan is amazing and the size is perfect for someone that loves bread as much as I do, people that work there are always welcoming and the food comes out fast and the quality of the food has always been great! Definitely recommend

Great and wallet friendly Indian restaurant

Food poor, I felt quite ill during the night following the meal. Gave the restaurant a second chance after my wife was ill after eating there a few weeks ago. A friend noticed that all our curries had the same visual appearance.

I had a lot of food, that tasted really good. The atmosphere was really cool and they had good service.

I took a lunch special. Great service and excellent food. I love the garlic nan and chicken curry medium spicy!!! All that with a chai tea I paid $20 😀

The food was amazing - visited several times now and never a bad choice of dish. The tastebuds were singing. The restaurant is nicely decorated and staff attentive and amenable. The only downside is if you bring a car the car park is very limited.

Definitely our favorite Indian restaurant. We all had great food ever single time we come over take home. My favorite is the Lamb Sagwala (probably misspelled sorry) it's Awesome. And is a dish I don't find in other insurance restaurants much or they miss the mark in the Curry by a mile, so I end up ordering it 90% of the time.

I had a lunch special, which was worth every penny. Curry dishes had depths of flavor. Oh, also the rice pudding looking dessert was awesome. Some people make it just sweet but this one had a nice balance of savory, sweet and cinnamony-! I will definitely go back soon. Update: I came back again and had Lamb and Paneer. It was good. Whoever you are in the kitchen, you are awesome~! I visited again: Still fabulous food. I had lunch special, dumplings and garlic naan. I think it is one of the best foods per what you pay. Keep up the good work~!!

I had the butter chicken. This is some of the worst indian food I've ever tasted, it's bad enough to ruin a good day. The chicken tasted okay but the curry did not taste like butter chicken. Not authentic.

Great food. Great service and a calm, clean atmosphere make this a great place to eat. Also, it's priced incredibly for this area. The Naan was fresh and both of the different types of chicken meals that we ordered were amazing. This is a place we will definitely come to again.

First time visiting as here on holiday and wow we had some of the best curry we’ve ever had. The service was friendly and welcoming, the menu is not huge but more than enough choice. We received our food quickly and it was absolutely amazing, could not fault it in any way and to top it off the price was very reasonable too. If we ever come back to this part of the country we will definitely be going back !

Third time here and it just gets better each time!! They have increased their tables and seating now as more people are discovering this little gem in Witney!! The food is consistently excellent, as is the service. We were here for a birthday this time and the staff went out of their way to make it an extra special occasion. The whole evening and experiences was perfect.

We skipped starters and opted for lamb raja rani and butter chicken for mains. Unfortunately we were told no butter chicken so korma instead. The menu is fairly limited but some good options (if they have them). We also had pilau rice, and garlic naan. Pretty average as we're the main courses. Standard quality but nothing special. Staff however were wonderful, very polite and friendly and the ambience really good and nice decor. Quality does need too improve though

We ate early on a Sunday and the restaurant was quiet. The waiter was polite and attentive. We ordered butterfly prawns, Takka dahl, garlic naan, pilau rice and a chicken vindaloo. Warm plates on the table and the food were all good. I would recommend.

I saw this restaurant as I was staying at the hotel and I hadn't been to Nepalese restaurant outside of Nepal so I was quite excited at the prospect of authentic Daal Bhat or other curious culneries. Unfortunately all of the food was Indian, most had prefixes of "Nepalese style" but quite frankly there was no difference. The good thing was that the food was actually quite tasty and certainly flavoursome, spiced well and the quality was very good. Unfortunately, the setting left alot to be desired. The restaurant part could have done with a lick of paint and lacked ambience. The bar was very old fashioned and shabby looking, couches and settees surrounding coffee tables seemed to be the theme and it was difficult to relax in these surroundings. Toilets were dirty, no toilet paper in the toilet, which is pretty essential in a curry house and the bar ran out of draught lager on a Tuesday waiting for a delivery on the Friday. For some reason they didn't like you to run a tab for drinks unless you were seated in the restaurant which i found kind of amateurish

We have driven past the restaurant regularly since the signs first went up. We decided to call in without booking, the other evening, The staff made us feel very welcome from the moment we stepped inside. There was a great range of food on the menu and we thoroughly enjoyed every mouthful of every dish. The accompanying wine was well priced and went down only too well! This is a restaurant we will definitely be revisiting.

Lovely place in Witney, not enough people know about it. Food was absolutely delicious, lots of different dishes were eaten. All great and a lovely ambience all round. Super friendly chef who couldn’t do enough. Highly recommend.

Made a last minute decision to eat here after a quick google search of ‘Indian Witney’ as it’s so close to home. Rang and asked if they have gluten free and vegetarian options available as well as a high chair, and it was a yes to all. Although it’s not Indian, Nepalese food is quite similar and if I was to compare with all the Indian restaurants/takeaways in Witney, this is without doubt #1! As we’d never been here before we tried a few different dishes and each one was excellent in its own right. Full of flavour, great textures, nothing over cooked and not not too hot but you can choose whether to have the dish mild, medium or hot. The restaurant itself was very quiet, you enter through the rear of the building from the car park and we were the only table, almost questioning whether they were in fact open? We were greeted and seated and a few moments later another couple arrived. Drinks were served to us and it wasn’t long at all before the food arrived. We couldn’t manage it all but were offered to take the rest away - which we did! It could be the old sign on the front of the building that still reads ‘Gurkha and Nepalese restaurant opening soon’ for the reason they were quiet, or could be that we went out early and actually later on in the evening they get busier, or could even be that they are busy with takeaway orders and just not too many people eating it. But, this will now be a firm favourite of ours to dine at and I hope more people follow suit!

Amazing food, but the staff was pretty over it. The waitresses were pretty unattentive. Despite this, the food was just flat out delicious.

I placed the order over the phone and was given a 20 to 25 minute estimate. I arrived in 35 minutes. The food was still not ready. I went next door to Kroger's did some light shopping came back 10 minutes later. Food was still not ready and was told just a few more minutes. Unacceptable they this is consistently the practice at this location. They over promise and under deliver The food tastes great. The service leaves much to be desired. I'm done after many of months of ordering here at least once every other month. I'm tired of this wasting my time and being told an estimate that never comes true

Food was amazing!! Carefully prepared and presented. Service was excellent. Nisha was very attentive and friendly. The staff is the best! Will definitely return to try more items from the very extensive menu. Another visit and Gurkha Bar and Grill did not disappoint! Delicious food, both vegetarian and non-veg and stellar service!!

Easily the best Indian food in DFW

I usually go Gurkha Bar and Grill for my any need of catering, regular dine in or any events. I organized my 2nd anniversary of my Paralegal Services of Tarrant County. It was really awesome experienced. Dedicated staff provide us really amazing service. The food was really great. I love the chicken chilly with Chowmein. The Program Hall is also great with the good professional setting. I highly recommend this place for any private or public event as long as your regular dine in or carry out. Thank you for the entire team.

My first time in Dallas I asked me fried to take to me get some good Indian food. I was a little surprised when I arrived to the location in the gs strip mall. Everyone in the restaurant was extremely helpful, and happy to help. The food was excellent. We had about 6 different items on the menu. All was fire!!!

Ordered a lot of food from this restaurant. Gave us a old stinky momo sauce. Didn’t even said sorry. I am not a free person to just pick up and drop off the food. Please this is ridiculous. Health and safety department should visit this place for sure.

This place is one of family favorites. We have really loved everything we’ve tried but the Butter Chicken and Chicken Tikka Masala are our favorites. The Naan is so delicious and highly recommend the vegetable Samosas. The staff is so kind and helpful with suggestions. We usually get take out and they are very good with being punctual.
