Sehr empfehlenswertes Restaurant: die Empfehlung des Kellners, um die ich ihn ausdrücklich gebeten hatte, war super lecker und ich würde hier wieder einkehren. Liegt in der Nähe des Bahnhofs, von dem die Eurostar-Züge nach Festland-Europa abfahren. Ich bin derzeit auf Geschäftsreise mit leichten touristischen Anteilen und musste deshalb zu einer ziemlich kranken Zeit, 17 Uhr am Nachmittag, essen. Das Restaurant hatte aber schon geöffnet. Einziger Wermutstropfen: Das Restaurant seinen Namen geändert und heißt jetzt Kavali, dadurch wurde die Suche etwas erschwert 😅. Ich hatte Tandoori Mixed Grill und als Gemüse Cauliflower Bhajee, beides sehr lecker. Das nächste Mal probiere ich etwas aus dem Tandoori-Ofen.

No waiting, we just headed in. Friendly staff, a good sized and detailed menu and fast service. The food was amazing and really good value for money.

Around 10 of us celebrated the pre-Christmas period at Gulab Tandoori; very convenient location, since it's less than 5 minutes from our workplace. Shaheed and his team were very accommodating, and we had a good evening. Thank you Shaheed/team!

Knew nothing about this restaurant,, just walking by with some friends and we felt hungry. Gosh ,, it was just wonderful food and great staff . And really very good prices for such great food cooked by Alim the chef. Must also say a big “ thank you “ to Shohid who made us so welcome . For sure I will be going back

Walked in off the street a group of 8 of us, they accommodated us. Food was amazing had there special menu and it was just enough for me, if your a big eater order of the normal menu…. Food was amazing

Chose this restaurant by chance after a cycling tour of the Christmas lights and really enjoyed the food and of course the two bottles of Cobra. I had King Prawn Madras with rice potato's and nan, my wife went for the tandoori chicken. It's only a small place but we both had good meals, the service was fine and I'd definitely go there again.

One of the worst curry restaurant experiences of my life. The bright exterior is inviting. Turned up an hour before closing time for short meal, to a waiter sitting behind bar, wired to earplug, video-conferencing out loud with his friend. I had two overseas colleagues with me, whom I was keen to share a London meal with. Throwing the menus on the table, the waiter said "Order quickly and we'll serve you food quickly." I went to wash my hands and was sickened by a red food-encrusted carpet so filthy that it looked black. Waiter arrived to serve, still with earplug in ear, still video-conferencing. Popadums tasted of rancid oil. Over-cooked vegetables; bland, cold sauce; dull dahl. Potato OK, but copiously-added curry powder did not seem to have been cooked-in. Tepid rice that looked and tasted as if it has been sitting around for hours. Sorrowfully looked for cutlery to eat. - We had no cutlery and had to ask for this. Waiter hadn't noticed. None of us finished our food. The waiter arrived unannounced with a bill. £55.00 including added 10% service charge. "Is that compulsory?" I asked, "Yes" he said. They have a Visa/Mastercard sign on the door, I reached for my bank card. "Cash only" he said intimidatingly. "The card machine is closed because it is after 11.30pm." Why had he not asked us to pay before shutting down his card machine? Reluctantly I was forced to pay cash, and tip. Other reviews confirm this this is not the first time Gulab have insisted their customers pay cash. Never again! :-(

This restaurant was welcoming from the very start, even as the waiter spotted us looking at the outside menu and pounced immediately! Service was reasonably fast and it's a comfortable, spotless place, albeit a little cramped perhaps. We were the only couple in, but then, it was early evening. The starter, garlic prawns, was well done and very tasty indeed. The rogan gosht was adequate, but too chewy for my liking. The mushroom rice and the garlic naan were both ok and the food was served on hot plates. The waiter (I suspect owner) offered a complimentary coffee or a brandy and couldn't have been a nicer guy. In all, it was a reasonable, friendly, affordable experience but, unfortunately, there was nothing outstanding about the food I thought.

Rude staff , food was not worth the money , over priced , the chicken dishes were very sweet , the dal was more of chunks of the dal and water floating next to it . On top of this they just had a problem in giving us take away boxes .

We were initially drawn to this small but clean and tidy looking restaurant because of the great set menu deal advertised in the window. After sitting down and ordering drinks we were told the set menu was only for lunch time and not evenings. This was not stated in the advertising in the window and was a disappoint to all. We did order food and although the portions were not especially big the food was very nice and very flavourful. Five of us had a popadom, soft drink, rice and a curry each, plus three nan breads. The bill came to total of £110 including a 10% service charge. Myself and the remainder of our group found this to be very expensive. When the bill came the waiter asked that we pay cash and directed us to the cash machine over the road, which we all found very odd. We reluctantly paid the bill but on leaving we did some basic maths and quickly realised that, service charge aside, we had still payed over the odds for our meal and more than we should of. Although the food was good and very tasty, I personally would not visit again because of the over priced or miscalculated costs and the 10% service charge.

Gulab Tandoori is conveniently located near Kings Cross Station. I ordered the chicken vindaloo with rice and garlic naan. Vindaloo was excellent but the portion size was small. Naan was good but needed more garlic. Waiter was very nice. Prices about average.

Rather expensive, even with the meal offer, but food was excellent. Really enjoyed the curry, and the naan was amazing! All washed down with cherry coke! Short walk from Kings' Cross. Highly recommended.

I was looking for somewhere near St Pancras Station to eat, while waiting for my train, and stumbled upon this Indian restaurant, quite unpretentious from the outside. I was warmly welcomed by the waiter who, as it was quiet, was quite happy to chat. I ordered a chicken biryani with medium curry, along with pickles and pappadoms. All were quickly delivered to my table and I was assured they would be gluten-free. The biryani was tasty and the curry that came with, while nothing special, complemented the rest of the dish well. I finished with a well-presented mango kulfi ice cream. The meal, including a non-alcoholic drink, were reasonably priced and all delivered speedily to my table by the affable waiter. There was a large mounted TV at the back of the restaurant playing Bollywood films, which I found mildly amusing. I would use the restaurant again because of its convenience to three mainline stations, reasonably priced food and pleasant service.
