During an afternoon and evening in London with adult family members I suggested that we retreat from the hustle and bustle of the west-end for an hour or two and nip into the Grosvenor casino at Russell Square. I have been here a few times before to play electronic roulette but this was the first time for the others and a friendly and relaxed welcome at the reception was the perfect intro. We decided to play roulette at the tables and the croupier, Roberto, was superb. Everyone felt included, nobody was made to feel inexperienced or embarrassed, and there was a sense of humour prevailing that put smiles on everyone's faces even when luck wasn't necessarily smiling on them! Other staff members consolidated this good impression and as the visit had been my suggestion I was naturally delighted at how welcome we all felt. Roberto was eventually succeeded by another croupier whose name escapes me but he was from Sunderland, another guy with great interpersonal skills. The casino was quiet when we visited which suited us. A highlight of an excellent day.

We visited the casino on a works night out. We had a lesson first on blackjack & roulette then sat down for dinner. The food was very good and the service was also very professional. Then we hit the tables. We all had a good night, the croupiers were fantastic! They were very funny and answered any questions we had. The three of our that were left, even went out the door up... who would have thought! Thank you for a great night!

We booked for the Experience with the casino. This was £30 per person for which we received a drink, a 1 hour gaming lesson, a 3 course meal, £5 to spend on the tables and £5 to spend in the slots. What an amazing bargain! The lesson was great fun and we did learn how to play Blackjack. The choices for the meal were very good and all my party enjoyed their meal. We had mixed success with the gambling with 3 of us losing our money pretty quickly but the other 3 came out winning and were able to cash in £40, £24 and £18. None of us spent any of our own money so it is perfectly possible to enjoy a fun experience for very little cost. Recommended.

When went there it was more for curiosity but upon arrival the girls at the front desk were wonderful and made us feel so welcome that we stayed and had a drink and played at little bit. We were told that they serve pizza all the time along with other items. I would say 100% even if you do not gamble check it out maybe have a drink or coffee as it is a very nice interesting and friendly place.

Food was A LOT more interesting and varied and the kitchen far freer to get you whatever you wanted till Grosvenor took over this restaurant and added it to its standardised menus. The chef is being under used as one of the main chefs here was quite good on Chinese and Indian food. The dining room is intimate and cosy when not filled with talkative gamblers but the food whilst it is still tasty is just not as varied as a place like this ought to be able to boast. My tip to the Grosvenor chain is to drop your standardised menu and let each kitchen in each of your chains do the specials that match the skills of your chefs . I come here to eat less than I used to all because Grosvenor want to limit and standardise the food menu :(

Es un casino normal, sencillo y no tiene el movimiento ni bullicio de los casinos que conozco en otros países. En realidad no me gustan los casinos, pero entré por curiosidad y no me pareció gran cosa.

We went on a Saturday for a meal at the Grosvenor Casino and the restaurant was empty so no problem getting a table as we didn't book it was a last minute decision, they had run out of steak only were left with one fillet , food was of poor standard,service was poor, casino was small, standard was below average, would not reccomend this place to anyone to try

We found a great groupon meal deal never been before but for the price we thought we would give it a go, it was fantastic it was a set menu so there was three things to choose from starter and main we both had chicken satays which were great and then had a steak which was a £3 supplement each which was fine we had it medium rare and medium the steak was fantastic it has been the best steak I have ever had and we do like our steaks and then we had a £10 chip each to spend in the casino it was a great night something different and would definitely recommend going , of course we would only be able to have a groupon deal or on a special occasion as it is quiet expensive but a great night out and would definitely recommend the steak!! We have another deal for it on wowcher and can't wait to go back!!

It was small compared to the other casinos I've visited in the past. The service was poor and the reception misinformed us as for the online membership extras. Maybe we misunderstood. As for the food, it was really good. The games themselves....who can say? It depends on what you're looking for. It can be fun if you can handle it.

Would like to thank everyone at the casino for looking after us so well.The food was absolutely great and Jim went out of his way to make us feel so welcome. A brilliant place for an excellent meal and a good night out. Thanks to everyone.

We had a nice dinner at the Casino's restaurant and went to gamble afterwards. We had a groupon voucher and in the end we covered our dinner thanks to our wins at the roulette!

This little place is a gem. Bought as a birthday treat from Groupon. Included 2 course meal voucher for 6 at £7.50 per person AND £5 worth of chips, what a bargain!!!Food was delicious, staff amazing, especially Jerry our waiter who has a great sense of humour and amused our group of ladies!Once in the casino, although very busy week still managed to play roulette. Jon showed us around and Venilin the croupier explained the table rules and entertained us. The Staff are amazing here and it was a great experience and good night of fun. Would recommend and hope to return again.

Contrairement au table francaise a chacun son montant sur ces jetons. La un table valais un montant bien special.. trop de monde a la table de 2£.. Quand au restaurant il a fallu pas moins de 1h10 pour avoir nos malheureuse assiete de poulet et du Hot dog !! Malgres notre attente un verre nous a etait offert.Concept de la machine a sous perdu sous la forme de ticket. Cependant une vue de la terasse donnant sur Londres et notament Primark tout a fais sympa.

A casino like any other really, we went during the afternoon and found that it was mainly empty. The reception staff were very friendly but apart form them no one really acknowledged us. The customers that were in there were friendly enough Didn't eat in the restaurant so can't comment on the food served.Would visit again but again probably in the afternoon or early evening

Stopped in to check out the casino and was not quite comfortable in the place. It was dark and "close" with few gaming machines and fewer tables. Only stayed for one drink.

we went here for a meal and it was good price as we got 50 percent off with taste card.the man on the table next to us decided to eat a whole fish to himself which was so smelly that it was unbearable. the man who was eating it was very happy and content and that was fine it was not his fault but as i could not cope with the smell as i was pregnant i had to then ask to move and we had to wait for 10 mins for a table to be empty and then move. This was annoying but most of all how can the chef cook and serve such a smelly dish. Although the man eating it was clearly not affected other people are. Most people dot enjoy having t o sit i a strong smell of fish.Also all the desserts were finished apart from fruit platter and a chocolate type pudding dish. the guy gave us a menu did not tell us only 2 thing are available. infact he came back saying are you ready to order i said that i am not yet ready he said i will come back. Then when he came back i ordered a dessert he said sort we don't have. I mentioned about 5 different desserts before he said oh sorry we only have fruit or the chocolate dessert. If he knew this he should have told us from the start. waste of my time.

We chose to eat here because of the massive range on their menu. And we were excited that they're open until 2am. There aren't enough late night places to eat in London. When we visited, though, they told us they couldn't make anything from their Chinese or Lebanese selections because of staff and ingredients shortages. The food quality was acceptable but not great by any means. Portion sizes were big. Using Taste card, we got 50% off the bill so at the end of the day, it wasn't too expensive. But I don't think we'll go back.

Came here on a Groupon deal as I wouldn't normally think of visiting a Casino. Have to say we were very pleasantly surprised, both by the quality of the food and the level of service provided by the staff. The restaurant itself is quite small, and though clean and neat the decor is a little tired. However this was soon forgotten as our waitress was really friendly and helpful and the menu interesting and varied. Our food was lovely, and particular mention must go to the Calamari starter (probably the nicest I've ever had to be honest - crispy but not dry, and in a lovely spicy sauce), and the Teriyaki Salmon main course. We moved to the casino, where the staff very patiently explained to novices like us how the games worked (the different bets, all the betting odds etc). We settled at the roulette wheel, where the croupier was professional but entertaining and made the whole experience great fun. It's worth mentioning that though you have to pay for drinks ordered at the bar, soft drinks and teas/coffees served at the table are all free. Amazingly we had a run of luck and turned our introductory £10 chip into over £40. We decided to cash in at that point and left thoroughly satisfied customers. This is definitely worth a revisit next time we're in the area, especially as the club is open 24 hours a day !

Booked a Groupon Voucher for a two course dinner for two,which included a £5 betting chip each in the cost of the meal . There was a choice of 3 starters and 4 main courses,with puddings as an extra option for a charge. I had the Mushrooms in Milton to start followed by the Steak,which had a supplement £3,my girlfriend opted for the Tomato soup and then the Burger. All courses were cooked to perfection and served in a professional manner. We chose not to have desert,as this meal was pre-theatre and we needed to be quick.As for the Casino,we both lost our gambling chips and also a few extra pounds but we did enjoy the experience of being in the atmosphere of the Casino.I would recommend anyone to visit on a 'special offer' voucher- as the value& quality would hard to beat.

We got a Groupon voucher which was an amazing deal. From the minute we got there till we left we were treated in a friendly, welcoming and professional way.Usually voucher deal customers are not treated well. No so here. We were so impressed with the staff and the food.We went at lunchtime and had the restaurant to ourselves. The service was very good and fast. We had a ribeye steak that was cooked to perfection and lovely chips and mushrooms and tomato, followed by a rather large portion of banofee pie which I managed to eat. The food was pipping hot and well presented and a good portion.We spent some time in the casino to spend our £5 chip included in the deal and came away with £23. Nobody made us feel like the novices that we were and everyone in the casino were friendly and helpful.Will definitely return.

7 of us visited on 17th March for an 85th birthday party, guests ranging from 19 to 85, with a Living Social voucher and had the time of our lives. Scrumptious food with Impeccable service from our lovely waiters who were professional and skilled whilst still managing to be friendly and not at all 'stiff' - quite a feat - and all staff were very helpful and went the extra mile. Much, much more than we expected. Will definitely be going back and cannot recommend this place highly enough. The staff are quite simply the best and treat their customers like royalty. Thank you to you all. You must visit - you cannot fail to enjoy the experience.

Party of 8 ladies visited with living social offer. Food excellent, staff very friendly and efficient. None of us had visited a casino before and the patience and friendliness of the polish guy showing us the ropes on the tables was amazing. Well, we had a wonderful experience at Grosvenor Russell Square on a £15 Groupon voucher (two course meal and £5 chip each) that ended up being way, wayyyy more than I expected.To put this in context: I lived for 14 years in Las Vegas—so I don't expect much out of small scale venues. What GCRS lacked in size it more than made up for in punch. Walking in, it looked like an itty bitty Palms Casino. Sophisticated, clean, organised.Be aware that with the Groupon you do not get the full menu, so the description of “French, Arabic, Indian and Chinese cuisines” as the selection isn't accurate. Since I came for steak, it didn't matter. It might matter to you.We went for Monday lunch at 1:30pm and were the only ones in the restaurant the whole time. The service was exceptional and everything came out in a timely fashion. We ate leisurely and the next course wasn't presented until we had finished the last.The appetizers: (1) Stilton glazed mushrooms and (1) crispy coated calamari. Exceptional, both dishes. Huge for appetizer portions, hot, crisp, delicious.The mains: (2) 10oz rib-eye steaks, one rare and one well done. Tender, well seasoned, both perfectly cooked. Worth the £3 surcharge per plate.The sauce: (1) Pepper for the well done steak. I don't eat my steak well done and don't like to ruin good steak with gravy...but my friend liked it. £1.95 surcharge.The wine: My friend had two glasses of the Hardys Cabernet/Merlot blend. She said they were excellent and a wonderful value at only £4.40 per 250ml glass.The gaming: We were each given a £5 chip and played roulette. I left with £10 more in my pocket (£9 technically, after tipping the attendant), my friend left with £10 less in hers. We had a really fun time!The total cost: £15 for the Groupon + £16.75 for the wine, sauce, and steak upgrades + £3.25 tip to the waiter (not imposed, just given for great service).I will be back to Grosvenor Casino Russell Square without a voucher and would ABSOLUTELY be willing to pay full price for the meal and casino floor fun. I went with my hubby for a pre-Birthday evening out! From the moment we booked we received excellent customer service, KHAN who took my booking for dinner and JON who showed us beginners around the tables inside the casino. We went on a LivingSocial Voucher which was definitely value for money and none the less we received excellent service throughout. We had a 2 course meal included which was vey limited, King prawns for starter unfortunately only 4 in a Lemon Butter soup (without bread) Chicken Satay was a great portion and will definitely OPT for that next time. The Salmon Teriyaki was OK and the Steak my hubby had with sautéed potatoes was lovely. JERRY introduced us to the MENU and everything works. GIANNI took our orders and was friendly and funny. He provided us with an additional glass of champagne while we were waiting for our bottle we ordered to cool down. The staff inside the CASINO could learn something from the restaurant and reception staff about customer service. ESPECIALLY the POLISH guy on the tables was VERY Rude. Great night out especially as we walked out with £40!!!Definitely to be repeated

I had a group of 4 girls meet me at the casino for my birthday. Had a great time using the living social voucher. Steak upgrade is a must! Restaurant staff are lovely! The floor manager Jim was so welcoming and even arranged a lesson on roulette and blackjack. I have already arranged to go back!

To enjoy a different night out with 6 of my friends to celebrate my birthday I purchased 3 of the living social vouchers of £24 for 2 people which included 2 £10 gambling chips and a 2 course meal with Prosecco. The restaurant area is fairly small but nice. We choose 2 courses from the set menu and between us we had steak (£3 extra pp) Teriyaki Salmon accompanied by sautéed potatoes and steamed veg, there was option for chips too. For starters we had the chicken satay skewers and garlic chillie prawns in a lovely creamy sauce (amazing !) Portions were very plentiful and the steak was fantastic. The Greek salad was not to nice though, pretty basic. The waiters were fantastic and very friendly The meal was delicious, hot, well presented, of great quality, and of generous portions. The service was friendly and great also. We could not fault it at all. Other people around us we eating from the main menu and their food looked fab also. We then went up a few stairs to the casino where we received our £10 chips from the cashiers counter. Do remember to take your printed vouchers as these are required. No of us are gamblers or had a clue how to play/gamble. However the staff were very helpful and opened up an empty roulette table for us. We even got complimentary tea and coffee !. The croupier explained the game extremely well and we had a brilliant 20 minutes all playing together. We ended up going home with £90 !! between us but more importantly we had an amazing night and are already thinking of going back. For the price we paid we were not expecting a lot certainly not this much. However I /we highly recommend this casino and the restaurant. Some casinos can feel sleazy and uncomfortable but this one was totally different having a great pleasant feel to it despite being small.

We had a £21 Livingsocial voucher for 2 that gave us a glass of Prosecco and two course meal each and £10 worth of chips each for the casino. To be honest we weren't expecting much but were very pleasantly surprised.The staff, from the lady and man on reception who welcomed us to the waiting staff (Sergio was particularly helpful), were all very friendly and attentive. The meal was great - we had the prawns to start, I had teriyaki salmon and my husband the rib-eye (£3 supplement) and all well cooked and great quality. We then spent an hour in the casino, watching others play before cashing in our voucher and trying our hand at roulette - and came out £32 up!!

I brought a voucher from Livingsocial which was good value as it came with a casino chip as well.I didn't expect a lot as it's a restaurant attached to the casino but the service was great and the guys were really attentive. The food was nice and we enjoyed ourselves.

I couldn't disagree more with the comments made by Ben H. I also purchased the living social offer of £24 per couple which included 2 £10 gambling chips and a 2 course meal with Prosecco. Upon arrival we were welcomed by the waiting staff and shown to our table. My girlfriend had a glass of Procecco but I wanted something else and the staff were more than happy to substitute this for a lovely glass of red wine. My girlfriend had the Salmon, which she said was great and I had the steak which was well worth the £3 surcharge. Despite there being a large group that were also dining at the time, the service was fast and the food hot and well presented. After finishing our meal with a coffee, we were shown in to the main casino where we also welcomed by the friendly staff. We were issued our free chips and spent the next hour thoroughly enjoying the games. I would highly recommend this casino for a great night out. I will certainly be looking out for more deals.

I along with most of the reviews on here bought a Deal voucher online for £24 bargain, for that price I don't expect a lot I have been a customer of Grosvenor for year and once many years ago worked for them in a well known seaside town WELL let me tell you, what an absolute terrible and appalling experience one I shall not be repeating, Myself and my boyfriend work in the industry also so we always let a few floors here and there slide but firstly no water was offer at all the whole time, my boyfriend ask about bread with the soup and was told would be charged extra for this, glad we decided against it as later on in the evening we saw two slices of 'hovis' appear from the kitchen for another table, he had the steak at an extra £3 was 80% of which was fat this is expected as it was clearing a frying steak and not a Rib-eye as stated, our plates were cleared before we had finished which took us both by surprise but we noticed that our waiter 'Jeff' was clearly new and his trainer and older Italian man clearly couldn't care less what was happening and did NOTHING but boss the poor lad about, the dishes that contained the side of fried and veg was left for another 20-25 minutes after our partially finished dishes was whipped away, after waiting a good 30 minutes we ask for the dessert menu and was told very rudely that we would have to pay extra for this, to this we ask for our bill which we did request twice, weather a deal our full price this was terrible experience and will never revisit again.

we visited on a voucher site deal, mainly because a casino was on my bucket list. It's an old building and the decor a little tired, but that didn't stop us having an excellent time. Food was good, I had a steak which was cooked beautifully and my husband had the salmon. We're given a bowl of chips to share which was only enough really for one. Limited set menu, but covered most food tastes.We got our gaming chips and settled down at the roulette table. There were instruction leaflets on hand for the inexperienced, and in the end came out with a healthy profit. Would return, we had proper fun!

We visited here on a living social voucher. Lovely restaurant! Choice of starters - soup of the day, garlic and chili prawns or chicken satay. We had the prawns - delicious.Mains a choice of teryaki salmon, chicken curry, steak (£3 surcharge) or Greek salad. We had the steak and it was amazing - can't believe the value for money. Service was attentive and the atmosphere very cosy - nice linen table cloths and chandeliers. Can't fault it at all, we had a lovely meal for brilliant value. Would definitely return!

Went for a meal on Saturday evening with some friends to the restaurant at the Grosvenor Casino Russell Square. We were greeted with a smile by four friendly waiters and seated in the restaurant which is before you enter the casino. I ordered garlic and chilli king prawns in buttered lemon sauce to start, teriyaki salmon for my main, my partner ordered chicken satay followed by rib-eye steak, both of our meals were amazing, probably the best Salmon I have ever had, We were so full we couldn't manage a dessert but they all sounded lovely.After dinner we were shown around the casino by a very helpful man called Shah explained the different games to us. We all had a lovely evening and thoroughly enjoyed everything especially the food, we will definatley be returning soon.

This is not a café in the conventional sense but is a nice green hut next to Russell Square where cab drivers go for a meal.However it is run by a lovely man who cooks great food. The prices are so reasonable for central London and the unusual setting makes it a win win.Extensive menu for such a small place but the food is tasty, freshly cooked and wholesome it is a gem waiting to be found. The owner even gave us a free refill on the tea and coffee.Thank you.

This is just near our hotel so we decided to pop in for a peek before going home. It would have been about 1am when we got there but the place was quite packed. The atmosphere was fun and the service was good. They has a promotion on where if you donated £1 to charity you would get a £5 gaming chip. We took them up on this and then very diligently gave the chip back to our roulette croupier. Not sure if all casinos in London are this cheap but coming from Sydney I was amazed at how low the table limits were. They had a £5 Blackjack table and a £1 roulette table where the minimum bet for column and dozen bets was £5.Didn't stay for long but it was fun and I will very likely be back!

First of what I'm sure will be many visits to this casino & restaurant - Staff were great throughout and made us feel very welcome. I enjoyed the Terryiaki Salmon for main which was lovely - nice and sticky glaze, the duck looked fantastic too!... a couple of friends had a little game in the casino whilst we stayed at the bar. Cannot recommend highly enough!

Phenomenal- I have eaten here on several occasions with family and friends and I am always spoilt for choice with the menu and thoroughly impressed by the quality of food. Irrespective of the casino, this restaurant stands up in its own right, offering a fine dining experience at a very reasonable price. Will be returning very soon for my birthday!

I can only recommend this place to everyone,who is trying to have an easy but valuable night out. Location is terrific. From the moment of arrival you can feel the professionality of the venue. And from that point its only up to you, whether you spend your night at the dining table or at the gaming tables.
