Gringo's Burrito Bar in Flintshire

Closed - gone - hasta la vista, Gringo's. We had eaten there - while it was so-so food, they lacked finesse to make it worth the price.

Service was quite slow, but they were low on staff so not their fault. The burrito itself was absolutely stuffed and very tasty. Really enjoyed.

Food was half an hour late and disgusting and included hair which wasn't ordered, unedable and thrown in the bin! False advertisement all the way!

We waited nearly 2 hours from ordering .. 45 minutes late from delivery time Everything was cold. 2 soggy tacos under everything .. it all went in the bin.. they did refund me when I phoned though x

Closing times aren’t accurate and often close early! 😡 October 2021 On their front door, Gringo’s Burrito Bar has opening and closing times for the business. Tuesday to Thursday they are supposed to close at 9pm and Friday to Sunday they are supposed to close at 10pm. On a Sunday I kept ringing the business to place an order for collection. I kept ringing them between 9pm 9:30pm (with no answer). I was ringing as I was walking up from Greenfield which is 1 mile away. As I walked 1 mile to Gringo’s, I was very annoyed to find out the business closed early (they were supposed to shut at 10pm) and I had a wasted journey. I wouldn’t have minded if there was a notice on the door saying why they closed early or an update on their Facebook page but there was no explanation. A week after this, I also went to get a Gringo’s on a Wednesday night and they were shut at 8:30pm (they are supposed to shut at 9pm 😡), again with no notice on the door or any update on their Facebook page. I suggest that if they going to close earlier than 9pm between Tuesday and Thursday or earlier than 10pm between Friday and Sunday, that they change their closing times as people might plan to get a meal from here or make the journey in to town only to find out the business is shut when it is supposed to be open. Either this or provide an update via the Facebook page or put a notice up for the customers on the door or window and cover the current closing times as they are clearly not accurate. I’ve wrote this review due to two wasted journeys. I’ve been to Gringo’s quite a few times this year and I’ve always had a nice and filling meal from there. It’s great to see something different in the Town and I’ve always found the staff very nice to talk to. But please address this issue.

I was really excited to see a Mexican open but was really dissapointed on the 2 occasions I tried. The first time the food was ok despite being not that flavoursome and receiving the wrong order but the second time I walked out having waited for more than 5 minutes with no recognition from the staff as they were chatting to another customer and dealing with online orders (I was very happy to wait but it was the not even being acknowledged that was frustrating).

Food was cold dry with no taste this is not how Brito should be served. Very expensive food ended up in the bin I would advise given this takeaway a miss!!

Waited over 2 hours for delivery. Delivery driver’s hands were filthy like he’d been working on a car engine. Food arrived hot but looked like it’d come out of the food waste bin. Rice with the tacos was harder than a toffee, just a plate of dried up food. Poorly presented and it didn’t taste any better either. Burrito was rock hard one side and a soggy mess the other and the milkshakes were awful, didn’t think it was possible to screw up a milkshake! Would’ve given zero rating if it’d been an option. My dogs dinner looked more appealing! Would never get food from there again! Worst food I’ve ever tasted.

I ordered the loaded nachos and a pulled pork burrito which were really tasty except the parts of the wrap and some of the nachos tasted a bit stale and the sour cream was curdling! I think this place could have a lot of potential if they upgraded their stock and DEFINITELY lowered their prices! Far too expensive for the portion size Delivery was right on time!

Was quite excited to get get a ‘Mexican’ restaurant in the area. Sadly, this place is so beyond disappointing. Ordered a chicken burrito. Half the fillings seemed to be missing and it was stone cold. The ingredients all feel as though they are very low quality, from a packet and nothing is freshly made. Salsa, marinades, spiced rice etc are very easy to make from scratch and would give the meals a significant lift in quality. Would absolutely not order from here again unless there were big changes.

Ordered a home delivery from here and it took them a while to arrive which could be forgiven but the food wasn't great and it was presented horribly. For example the wrap on the burrito was soggy and fell apart instantly and was open on both ends, ended up having to eat it with a knife and fork and it was full of kidney beans, and I mean packed of kidney beans??? Also I ordered some tacos which came in a cardboard takeaway box but it has obviously been on its side the whole journey on delivery as all the filing was to the left of the box and the empty taco shells were to the right, all the filling was squished into the side as if it was kept sideways and the cheese was all over the top of the box... Ended up throwing it out and getting something else, we also ordered a 1.25 litre bottle of Dr pepper and got 2 330ml cans of Dr Pepper instead? I went to call up to complain but they had closed, will call tomorrow instead.

We recently saw that Gringo's had opened and decided to give them a whirl. It is take-away only and is only open after 4 pm. My wife and I tried a pulled pork and spicy beef burrito each along with an order of loaded nachos. They will load up your burrito with a wide variety of fillings (spicy rice, sautéed peppers, hot peppers, guacamole, etc - basically anything you could want). We also loaded up our order of nachos. It was all well wrapped for the short trip home (we live in Holywell). Overall, I would say that it was a very tasty tea but a little pricey relative to other fast food. Would we go again? Yes! Especially when we need a good Mexican fix. They do have other food (burgers, chips) - see their FaceBook page menu.
