Lovely restaurant, good atmosphere, our waitress was great. Served quite quickly and food was lovely - only had a main course. Reasonably priced. Book as it gets busy!

I simply couldn’t fault the experience we had tonight. From the cozy and spacious seating area, to the variety and quality of the food, and not forgetting the exceptional staff, especially our waitress tonight, Sam. I had the mixed grill, which had a wide variety of meats and other produce. My wife had the rib-eye steak. In both cases, the ingredients were cooked perfectly and the meals were quite sizeable. We then both finished with impeccably presented desserts which tasted just as good as they looked. As for price, it was good value, especially considering the attention to detail in both the presentation and quality. Would we eat there again? Absolutely!

There is nowhere to eat in Betws-y-coed unless you want pizza, Lasagne, Burger or Fish, all with chips! Unless you choose The Grill, superb staff that helped us find a table, superb menu and Wrexham Lager! Never heard of that before but it an amazing beer. Eat here if you stay in this town, we couldnt get excited about anywhere else!

Really lovely place. Got a table for two without a booking. Hubby chose from special offer menu and had 2 courses for £18 ( meatball starter, roast beef). I had salt & pepper chicken burger for £16. Which came with a huge portion of chips. Food and service both excellent. Special mention goes to the toilets with the best handles I’ve ever seen!

We had a lovely experience at the grill room, the roast beef was really delicious and tender, there was such a lot of beef as well. The potato’s,greens and swede were tasty too.For dessert I went for the gluten free creme brûlée it was delicious and I liked the berries that it came with, you could either have it on the creme brûlée or separately. The staff were friendly and took care of my allergy really well and got us our requests promptly. The decor is lovely, upmarket. Also the toilets and restaurant were clean too.

Me and my wife came for a anniversary meal after our trek up Snowdon. We arrived without booking and it was not a problem atall. I had the Mixed grill and it was perfect. My partner had the chicken breast and also loved it. We did not try dessert as we were both stuffed from the size of the main meal. We will definitely return on our next visit to the area.

Let’s start with the positives! Lovely setting, friendly servers & good selection of beers, wine & cocktails. However, I am not a Michelin chef by any means but I do like to cook & consider myself quite clued up when it comes to serving up some tasty home-cooked food, which is why I was so disappointed by the quality of what myself & my family were given. My husband chose the steak pie with ‘home-made’ shortcrust pastry. The beef had not been cooked for long enough & was extremely tough & the pastry was akin to pottery clay! It was inedible. I ordered the chicken Thai Green curry, the rice was cooked lovely but the meal was definitely not green nor Thai. White & watery with a hint of spice. I couldn’t taste lemongrass or coconut milk, not a fresh chilli in sight & I don’t really know what overcooked pieces of courgette were adding to the dish. It was edible & as I hadn’t eaten all day I did eat it but I think the chef needs to call it ‘spicy chicken stew’. My daughter chose the salt & pepper chicken burger. Whilst she said she enjoyed it the chicken was dry & it shouldn’t be described as a burger as in fact it was 3 chicken goujons on a burger bun. The saving grace of this experience were the staff, I don’t complain but on this occasion I did & she kindly amended our bill. My daughter had two cocktails, both of which were lovely & the bottle of New Zealand Sauvignon Blanc was chilled perfectly but unfortunately this wouldn’t be enough to entice a return visit.

What a beautiful spot to relax after a day out walking in Wales. Our server, whose name I unfortunately don’t feel confident enough to remember, was super sweet and funny. We went twice and had the haddock fillet- prepared perfectly and not overly cooked. Perfect white fish! Paul had the Steak and Ale pie which was delicious and the next time we went I braved the 8 oz ribeye! The ribeye itself was tender and surprisingly not overwhelming, although I didn’t finish it; however, the corn on the cob, funnily enough, was my favourite as it was grilled on charcoal. Thank you for a cozy culinary experience. Oh yea, the cheesecake is made of fresh cheese and has a graham cracker crust - best desert ever. So refreshing!

Me and my sister were caving in the local area and staying at the hotel attached to the restaurant so it just seemed logical to eat here too. The menu choice was amazing (see photos) but I am a sucker for a cottage pie and oh my days it hit the spot, it tasted soooooo nice, the veg was so tasty and the red cabbage was something else! We also had starters and desserts, the starter were chipolata sausages covered in honey and garlic (they were the absolute dogs........) and for dessert was chocolate delice which I didn't take a photo of as I wolfed it down but that was just as nice. The service was brilliant, the waitress was amazing, the restaurant itself was nice to sit in - The meal was pricey but for good food it's 100% worth it!

After reading good reviews was excited to book here but was very disappointed 😞 £60 for mixed grill and chicken fajitas first of the mix grill was all charoaled no flavour and bland like chewing an old leather boot. Asked for blue and got medium. Chicken fajitas had that much cajun spice so over powered couldn't taste anything else. Service wasn't great very slow and was empty only 3 tables which included us. Need to hirer some younger generation staff also long wait for food but I'm guessing that was so they could burn all the flavour off.

The food was good (4/5) but the venue and the staff were supeb (5/5). Such a nice place to visit on a cold winter's afternoon. Bring early January the place was quite quiet but still very warm and inviting with a lovely interior. Staff were all really friendly and helpful. Also very baby friendly. The high chair was great and staff came over to make a fuss of baby so he was kept happy. We had the lunch menu which was tasty and really good value. Pork belly was lovely and soup too. Would defo go back to try other things from menu. Very relaxing after a long drive with a baby. Rapid EV charging point nearby is also very handy.

After a bit of a wait for our food, as we were sitted at our table at 5pm the opening time, 2 of us ordered the Belly Pork pictured which was absolutely stunning. Very tasty indeed we cleared our plates, my other friend had the King prawn Linguine whish she also polished off and said was beautiful. We all had deserts of Bread and butter pudding, cheesecake and i had the Black forest trifle which was also very nice. A really enjotable meal. The christmas decor was beautiful with traditional Red, Green and Gold which was very cosy and inviting 😊🎄

Very under impressed! Came here based off all the good reviews. The menu was lacking for me sadly. Got told are we eating off lunch or main menu to decide which side we sat in, haven’t even seen a menu so how can we know? Chose to sit in the lunch area but then asked to see the other menu so I could see what they had. Went to the bar and my boyfriend was told “we come to table, mate.” Like ok? Haha. We said we would order off big menu and moved to other side. Waiting a while again we got shown another set menu. I had the roast beef dinner. It was so bad. Annoyingly my bf wouldn’t let me tell you how rubbish it was. Very bland overcooked beef, about half a head of broccoli, half a carrot and a couple of roast potatoes ( not roasted in fat so just bland) barely any food on the plate and school dinner standard of flavours. Didn’t want to risk trying a dessert after this. So disappointed and costed us £45 for 2 meals and 2 drinks. Really, really awful lunch. Really wished I’d asked for my money back it was just not worth anything.

Underwhelming meal after we were travelling back from our trek up snowdon, the outside of the building looks promising and like it should be better than it is The waiting staff were lovely and couldn’t be faulted but the meal itself was a huge let down. Presentation wise every looked lovely, the goats cheese starter was delicious, but the tomato a basil soup was very over seasoned to the point of tasting entirely of salt We then had mains of fish, chips and mushy peas which my son thoroughly enjoyed, the salt and pepper chicken burger as very disappointing, it was 3 small overcooked bits of chicken( basically3 very small goujon) , and a crispy over toasted roll with barely any sauces inside . for the price paid I don’t think the meal was worth the value paid and have had far better in the past . It’s not somewhere I would return to and had a better pizza over the road on another evening!

Went for a family meal at 7:30 pm on a Wednesday after a walk up snowdon. Family of 4. We quite fancied some steak . There was no steak left at 7:45 pm mid week … in a grill house. So we had some lamb . The lamb was tasty itself but with vegetables as hard as rocks to accompany with a very dissappointing dauphinoise cube . Children’s meals were straight out of the microwave styly but nicely presented. Overall we had some good service from waitresses at this restaurant but the food was very poor and expensive . To give you an idea a Toby Cavery is much better and cheaper. The restaurant asked how our meals were and gave us a 10% discount which was appreciated. You need better cooking ! Avoid

We checked in at the hotel and were told that if we were quick we could eat in the restaurant. Went to The Grill Room only to be turned away. Back to reception who had a word with someone and arranged a table. Not a very welcoming start. None of our first choices, and some of our second choices of meal were available. By way of an apology 2 of our party who had burgers were, very generously (not), given free cheese. The grill room doesn’t take reservations. We attempted to visit on three occasions on weekdays between 6pm and 8pm but were unsuccessful in getting a table each time. Staff were courteous in informing us that they book out places for residents first but the inability to book make this place difficult to recommend. Despite several free tables we were unable to eat and I worry that this was because we turned up with a baby and pram each time. We were advised to turn up at 5pm for a table, which may be testament to their popularity, however this was a bit too early for our family to have dinner and not a feasible option for our holiday.

Very disappointed with our meal here. We had visited Y Stablau earlier in the week so were very much looking forward to our visit here. For starters, we ordered smoked mackerel pate - first of all we were given the wrong dish, instead it was the chicken liver parfait. We did try some before realising and were both very glad we had not ordered it - the parfait was plain and grainy. The smoked mackerel pate was better, although could have fine with more seasoning. The mains were an absolute disaster. I ordered honey glazed duck breast - the duck was completely overcooked and the sauce that it came with was incredibly sweet. I am normally a fan of fruity sauces with duck but this felt like to should be in a dessert! The fondant potato seemed like it had been sitting out all day, no crisp whatsoever. Accompanying veg was overcooked and dumped on the plate with no regard for presentation. My husband got the rumo of lamb, again overcooked meat with bad veg and inedible fondant potato. We sent both of our meals back and ended up just getting chips, which were the best thing we'd had there all day. For the price they are charging for mains (£16-£19) there needs to be a lot of improvement!

The service in the restaurant was good, we were regularly topped up with new drinks which is exactly what we wanted! The waitress checked on us often without being overbearing. The food is what let this establishment down, my partner ordered the chicken, masala I think, the pitta it came with should’ve been classed as a lethal weapon it was that solid. She banged it on the table without it breaking. I ordered the steak, rare with Diane sauce. My steak came out blue, which is no problem but it had those black diagonal lines on it which is meant to suggest that it’s been char grilled but is actually a symptom of cheap weatherspoons-esque food. The total bill of £77 was a little steep for the food quality.

We were served by Sion R who was very rude. No eye contact, very hostile, didn’t thank us for coming, acted like we weren’t there all night then got our drinks order wrong. Don’t be put off by this as the food was good, just hopefully you get a different waiter!

We went for a family meal in September and this restaurant did not disappoint. There were six of us and I think we’d all be in agreement that this was the best food we ate during our weeks stay in Betws-y-coed. I had the rib-eye steak but others had the vegetarian crumble, and the lamb. The food was absolutely delicious. Fantastic flavours all round and I don’t think there was even a crumb left of any plate. The service we had was exceptional - one of us didn’t want a whole pudding and instead just requested a scone with jam and cream. This is only found in the lunch menu, but it wasn’t a problem for the kitchen staff who made this possible for her. Great service and great food.My only grumble is that there’s no background music of noise, so you’ve literally got to take your own atmosphere in with you. Luckily enough there were six of us so it didn’t make much of a difference!

Very nice environment and friendly staff. The food is not amazing but still pretty good and slightly more expensive than average. Good covid measures in place.

Went during COVID , restaurant set out really well for staff and guests. Starters were tasty but very small , I had pigeon. However the main course made up for it, beef rump was cooked pink and sliced easily (no fat or gristle) with a mountain of veg and a rosti potato. my wife had the duck which was also again very filling. Staff was really nice and chatty . Was a pleasant evening.

This was by far the best food and wine we had during our stay at Betws y Coed. I thoroughly enjoyed the slow roasted welsh rump & my husband had a delicious rib-eye, the only fault being the steak had not been rested, but that's nit picking. Otherwise, a great menu, lovely dining room and friendly staff.

My wife and I came here for lunch on Friday. We had both chosen Welsh rarebit bloomers, which were delicious, but perhaps a little big for our appetites. We were impressed with the care the hotel was taking about covid 19 precautions. They noted down a contact phone number and took our temperatures before we were admitted. Our table was safely screened away from neighbouring tables. And in spite of crowds in the town the restaurant was not very busy.

The Grill always provides good food with great service. The measures they have put in place to deal with Covid however are exemplary - not a foot wrong. A real pleasure to go out and relax knowing that you are being well looked after! We appreciate all your efforts.

It’s a good restaurant with pretty good food and good service but nothing spectacular One thing to mention is you cannot add the tip on a credit card as has to be cash but in these Covid days no one has cash !!Unfair on the staff and would like to thank the lovely Amaretta for her service

We walked around Betws-y-Coed having not booked anywhere. This was a more expensive establishment and we managed to get a table for 2. The food and service was just excellent. Very classy inside. Service was always on hand. The lamb was 10/10. If we’d stayed an other night in Betws-y-Coed I’d of come here again. Well worth treating yourself.

We had two meals here during the week we were on holiday in the area for. Each time the food was fantastic. Cooked to perfection and very tasty.Service very good the first night, but slightly lacking on the second visit, new waiting staff so we kept that in mind, but I did have to keep going to the bar to request drinks unfortunately. Despite that we enjoyed the meals and would happily recommend and visit again.

We visited whilst on a short break with our two children (11 and 8) we booked in advanced and chose the Grill room because of its family helpful childrens menu. The food was delicious, the children's food was nice and simple and our kids (fussy eaters) enjoy it very much. We shared starters and deserts and had wonderful main courses, my wife enjoyed the burger and I had a wonderful lamb, cooked perfectly with tasty well prepared vegetables. Really pleased. The deserts were as good as the mains, we had a special chocolate desert and a brownie which the kids also loved.Would recommend for families, the service was friendly and attentive. Thanks you for a lovely meal (it was our anniversary too!)

The whole place is beautiful in beautiful settings.Everywhere was very clean, staff very friendly and knowledgeable.I had the Lamb, it was a tasty dish. But I felt overwhelmed with how much vegetables were on the as the portion ratio on the plate didn't really work. However it was very tasty and pleasing.Would love to eat here again!!

Welcoming staff and well-organised with temperature check and hand sanitising station. Beautiful setting and tables spaced out with screens. Lots of choice on the menu including vegan options. The food was delicious and we would definitely come here again. It's a little on the more expensive side but worth it and the service was very good too.

After a good mornings hike we called in here as we had heard great reviews. The food was indeed freshly cooked, although a little slow , it we was just impatient to get back to get cleaned up from our hike. Lovely surroundings, friendly staff and a great choice on menu

We came here for a fairly big family dinner on a Thursday night. The reception was warm and friendly, and we were made to feel very welcome! We were a bit disappointed by the children's menu - we prefer the sort where they're offered food that's comparable to what the grown-ups they're with will be eating - at home we try to always give the children the same food as we're having. Our daughter's still only 2, though, so we just ordered her a starter and then gave her bits of our main courses when they came. I know some kids are fussy, but it's by no means all of them - I remember from my own childhood that it can actually be quite disheartening to keep seeing a children's menu of "kid-friendly" food next to a grown-up menu with things like pigeon breast and slow-cooked lamb on it - especially when you can't get half portions! The food was served quickly by extremely friendly staff, and was absolutely delicious. I think between us we managed to be some relatively awkward customers, but our waitress took everything in her stride! One thing we appreciated food-wise was the balance of meat to vegetables - there was plenty of both, and a good selection of vegetables on the plate. We fully intend to come back - the experience was wonderful!

Excellent restaurant. Very efficient service- recommend booking ahead to avoid the large queues waiting outside! Superb covid awareness- best we encountered in the area - and the food was lovely. Catered well for my husband’s food intolerances too. Our server, Katie, was a friendly, smiley and helpful waitress - first night back from furlough. Keep her hours up folks! Lovely girl. 5 stars all round.

2 of the main courses were unavailable. The vegetables for the lamb course were unavailable. Alternative vegetables were given which were undercooked and cold. Potato was tasteless and cold . Did mention it to waiter whose response was sorry. £24 for a piece of lamb is unacceptable as I didn't eat the vegetables or potatoes.

Do not bother! Ordered at 17.00 received at 19.10 with some of the order missing tried to phone for over 1 hour after with no answer calls refused and this isn’t the first time this has happened…we won’t be using any more!!!! More than 1 chance given!!!

Visited this lovely little garden centre today with my hubbie, sister and brother ( plus 1 very old doggie). Had a lovely lunch, portions were large and lovely, we all struggled to finish our meals. We had already seen the homemade scones and cakes on our way in, so decided to ask for them as a takeaway. The scones were massive and so nice, struggled to eat it 3 hours later. Lemon drizzle cake and Victoria sandwich also got great reviews from the others. The staff were so lovely, friendly and helpful. Definitely worth a visit to this dog friendly cafe and also to potter around the garden centre, so glad we stopped here.
