My husband and I have just left your shop here and we’re very disappointed. We were told by a young woman (who appeared not interested) that pastries couldn’t be reheated unless we used the microwave. I’m not sure why they can’t be kept warm? If food can’t be served hot surely customers should be told this prior to ordering and paying for it. My husband actually asked if there was warm food snd was told there was so we assumed it would be. Obviously using the microwave caused the pastry to be soggy. The microwave also had a notice beside it saying to use sanitising wipes before and after use but none were provided. It also said to follow instructions for reheating food but none were provided and I actually burned my tongue. We complained and I said I had left my pastry but no apology or refund was offered. We have used Greggs many times and never had any issues but today was unacceptable both in terms of the food quality and customer service. There did not seem to be anyone in a managerial position to speak with and we ended up buying lovely food at M & S instead.

Decided to go to milnthorpe chippy after not being in for years as fancied a change and the food was delicious. The price wasn’t too much with good portion sizes, the staff were very helpful and polite and also chatted to me and my younger sister which made the wait better. The customer service was excellent and the young girl who served me was very polite and friendly. I would definitely go again as my experience was excellent.

Very limited menu very expensive,no decent priced children’s meals,no variety on menu apart from change of pie ,very little vegetarian options, not a particularly well executed menu, unfortunately it’s impossible to get any food delivered to hotel as it’s in the middle of nowhere,I would never book this restaurant

Rather than spending £40 you would be better buying a pot noodle miles better and I’m not joking , I don’t know how they exist

We arrived in lovely sunshine but were disappointed to find that contrary to the impression given in the advertisement by Lakeland Retreats of sitting on your decking enjoying the sun there is no sun as the Lawns is surrounded by high trees making the interior constantly dark. You have to put the lights on for your breakfast and if you eat in later in the day then also. My partner decided to have a bath the first night but unfortunately contrary to the management company's assertion that there's a constant supply of hot water the hot water ran out and the water turned cold. This happened twice as it did to our neighbours in the adjoining Lakeland Retreats property. We normally have a cooked breakfast on a Sunday but we were appalled to find that the two frying pans supplied were pitted with rust and unusable. Finally as the season turned from summer to autumn the evenings got a little nippy. We tried to turn up the storage radiators but found that the controls are blocked by wooden brackets screwed over the radiators so you can't use them. A beautiful area but we won't be using Lakeland Retreats again if this is the standard they aspire to!
