I used to really enjoy coming here; it was always my first choice for coffee. They had the most incredible almond and butter croissants and other fabulous cakes! Have to agree with another reviewer in that it now has a very 'fast food joint' look to it and the only cakes available were 'buns'; the one I had wasn't cooked through. I didn't eat it all. I didn't complain either (short on time) so I've no idea how they would have rectified it. The coffee and service was good though, hence 3 stars.

I went for a quick flat white and hot chocolate on a busy Saturday(takeaway) The vibe is a lovely relaxed atmosphere if you want to meet your friends. I’ve seen reviews where people are moaning about no food. There is a selection but moral of the story is there a coffee shop not a cake shop. Most amazing flat white I’ve EVER had. My partner really enjoyed her hot chocolate! The guy who made the drinks - engaged in a conversation with all customers and ALL staff was lovely and friendly. Next time I’m in Beeston on a market I will 110% be going here. Highly recommend this coffee shop. Thanks for a great experience!

I’ve been coming to Green Hood occasionally since it first opened and am disappointed with the changes. The coffee and customer service are always fantastic but since the refurb the new seating is like sitting in an upmarket fast food place. They’ve also stopped putting out magazines due to them being stolen, which is fair enough, but it was the only bit of atmosphere left. They used to have a range of cakes and bagels but this has been scaled down to just their buns. I’ve tried the buns several times now and they’ve always been a bit bland and raw in the middle. Although I really like the coffee and staff I’m going to start going elsewhere from now on. There are other cafes in Beeston where the coffee and service is just as good, but they also do food, cakes, and have a welcoming space to sit in.

If you're looking for your next favourite local speciality coffee house, then congratulations, you have found it. A friend introduced me to this place a couple of months ago and I am consistently served amazing, complex and exciting coffee by really friendly and knowledgeable staff who really do know their stuff. They are legitimately happy to talk coffee all day long and it is a simply delightful piece of modern coffee culture to have in Nottingham. As a result, if you do prefer a place that serves coffee more like a traditional consumer-coffee flavour-profile, then the flavours here may take some getting used to, as many of the guest blends are quite dynamic. But their Neighbourhood blend is always a safe choice if you're not looking to branch out into other kinds of coffee and are just looking for your old faithful. On that note, though, the staff seem more than happy to provide advice about which coffee and method would suit you best if you do find yourself feeling adventurous, which I think is an amazing piece of service. I couldn't recommend this place more, I love coming here.

Great coffee as always.. cakes made onsite.. really nice too. Staff were great and knew thier stuff. Speaking to Rory the owner had a taste of some rather interesting coffee I would never have tried as a result . Worth a visit ..

Discovered this gem a while back and trust me there is nowhere better for coffee and a danish. Rory is brilliant, super friendly and his "at the window" service throughout COVID was perfect. Must try the chai lattes, theyre miles better than the big chains and taste like christmas in a cup! will always be coming here :)

Great ambience. Very relaxing, good coffee and friendly service. Window seats permit easy solo coffee and people watching. Very light and airy inside. Well done.

I chose the Ethiopian natural from April roasters in Copenhagen brewed on a V60. It was a great coffee and perfectly brewed!

This is my favorite Beeston coffee shop and I only venture elsewhere on a Sunday (when it is shut). By far the best Latte I have had anywhere. So I would recommend it generally. Great home made cakes and teacakes too. But on this particular occasion, I tried the the Halloumi bagel for the first time and it was spectacular! Really light toasted bagel, with plenty of Halloumi, with a great combination of mayo, chilli sauce and rocket to really give it some zing.

My favorite cafe in Beeston. Smooth and rich coffee, really good coffee beans, totally recommend for all coffee lovers. Amazing quality of coffee with alternative milk options, cappuccino with coconut milk always tender and super frothy.

Whenever In beeston I go to get a good coffee! Best around. I visit with friends and young children.

The best coffee in Beeston by miles, and fantastic cakes. Key lime pie is wonderful, and the tea cakes and cinnamon buns are out of this world! A good choice of reading if, like me, you enjoy reading about coffee as well as drinking it. There's a good choice of seating on two floors, and an added bonus is the huge windows downstairs so you can wait for your friends inside in the warm. Friendly and prompt service. Why aren't there dozens of reviews on this lovely cafe?

Lovely little independent coffee shop. Far superior coffee to the chain brands. Small inside and not much seating at times but there is an upstairs to check for spaces.Lots of baked goods on offer alongside the coffees and service has always been friendly. I live in Beeston so I do end up coming relatively often.My only suggestion would be to consider expanding seating on to the street if this is a possibility. Although the coffee is superior I would tend to choose another place if it had outdoor seating in the sun.

Had a very nice piece of lemon cake and a good coffee in this nice little cafe. Struggled with the stairs to the W.C. not very accessible but maybe they have a disabled facility downstairs. I was just directed up and didn't think to ask until trying to come down! The baby changing platform is up there too and comes out over the top of the toilet as far as I could see, possibly not ideal?It was busy downstairs but there is a larger area upstairs. Looked as though they did a nice variety of food and catered for all tastes. My daughter had a very nice cinnamon bun which I think was gluten free. The flavoured water that you could help yourself to on the side was a welcome touch.We ordered at the counter and then the food was brought to the table, so at least if you were upstairs you wouldn't need to carry it yourself.

Knowledgeable, welcoming - great specialist coffee shop, certainly the best in Beeston by a good distance.

I like my coffee served as an espresso. The coffee here has a lovely balanced flavour, and was served with a glass of water. So much better coffee than the chained coffee places nearby. Great service and a good range of pastries too.

Love coming here for my fix of coffee and bagels! They also do fantastic cakes. Only downside is that they are not open on sundays

Such a good coffee shop - care taken over every cup, delivered by a really friendly team in a casual and neat environment.

Visited for the first time today and I will definitely be back. Very friendly staff and a nice environment- the only problem is choosing only one cake. I had the mud pie which was delicious. Overall a very nice place to sit and watch the world go by.

The best coffee and the perfect place to relax/work/read/people watch. Pop in most Saturday mornings and love the atmosphere and the jolly staff. Also pretty nice range of bagels for breakfasts prepared by mother green!

Only just discovered this place and wow! What an awesome place, situated on the High rd, this place is a must , I had a baguette with freshly squeezed orange juice and it was delicious, excellent facilities and comfy chairs.. perfect .. Will be back again and again

The coffee here is always delicious! I get an oat milk latte and there are separate cups and jugs for non-dairy milk which makes it safe for my dairy-allergy partner. The staff are always lovely and friendly. Have never had a bad experience and I visit frequently :)

I have been before as the coffee is delicious and at a reasonable price. However on our last visit, staff were rude, service was slow and the order was incorrect. There seemed to be no effective method of taking orders and knowing who it was going to. The server was on their mobile while serving!! Disappointing as actually the hot drink was lovely.
