We met friends here for Sunday lunch. I have a guide dog as visually impaired and we phoned ahead as we always do to simply alert them the guide dog was coming - I do this as a courtesy and I feel it’s right to. They allocated us a wonderful table with room for the dog and near the bar. The food was wonderful and affordable and the staff were kind and approachable:

I am writing this as I have just finished my meal hate and want to add to the previous comments. For pub food at the prices here, it was excellent. Big servings and food that was obviously cooked on site not straight out of a bag like Sizzler or weathersoon's. Week done to the staff. On a side note, my room here is bigger than expected and lovely hot water in the bath.

Social distancing not adhered to, tables to close together, staff not wearing any masks while breathing all over us at the table. Staff were not warm or friendly on arrival or during service. The Yorkshire puddings were straight out of the precooked frozen bags, they were not recooked & soggy. As was the little piece of square stuffing not cooked. Very disappointing to say the least.

Went for a drink and look to see if we could book a table Stood in queue for 15 mins and the lad behind was so slow ended up leaving. Greenacres are not following social distancing. 1. Not enough trained staff. 2. The seating area where people are queuing for the bar should be blocked as not 2 metres from queue 3. The dining area should have tables removed it like pre covid times. 4. No-one was ensuring social distancing. There were signs up but obviously no one could understand them and no one enforced them. VERY POOR

I was walking along a road not for from Greenacres when the landlord happened to pass by very slowly in his car, he had his window down and called me a peasant. I have known him for many years and was in school with him, he has never been like very much by a lot of people. I have never been in Greenacres and never will at any time in hte future.

Took my parents here for a meal, it's a very tired looking place needs a bit of TLC, a basic menu but the food we had was nice but they stop serving food at 2 PM so the place is empty by then so there's no atmosphere, but the bar staff and waitresses are very friendly and helpful.

We have just returned from an overnight stay at this lovely motel. It is easy to find and on arrival we were greeted by the most friendly and helpful staff. If I was to have a slight negative criticism of the motel it would be that the decor is a little dated but I think in a way this lends to its charm. The room was large and very spotless with plenty of tea and coffee. The bed was very comfortable I had a great nights sleep as the room was very quiet. The two meals I had here (dinner & breakfast) were absolutely lovely and plenty of it and the staff again were only too happy to help even though they were busy. Great stay brilliant staff so friendly I would recommend this motel and will definitely be staying again.

the food here is really good but the decoration of the place is awful it is a throwback to the seventies, it looks really dirty and grubby but if you don't mind that then the Sunday lunch is lovely the veg is soft and you get plenty of it!

Visited for Sunday lunch. Desserts all spread out on a tressle table along a wall in the very packed busy ‘restaurant’ area. All desserts open without any coverings whatsoever. On the same table were cans of pop being intermittently drunk by waiting staff, & condiments/bowls of sauces & cutlery being collected & deposited by staff and customers. Used/dirty tablecloths were being dumped on the floor in front of this same table for a staff member to later pile into a black bin bag. Surely not hygienic!?

Our first home after getting married was in North Cornelly 56 years ago. The Greenacre was built many years later. A rare visit to the area with a friend who visits the restaurant regularly. Good pub menu with a selection of home made pies etc. Many were having a lamb or beef “Sunday dinner” at £7, the charge for most items. Good friendly service. The owners would do well to refurbish the facility. It is comfortable but looking very tired.

A very tired looking pub, decor I thought we had left behind in the 70s. Basic pub food, obviously all bought in ready prepared. Lots of it, but really eating out has moved on from that. Staff ok. But a bit lacking in charm. Clearly popular with local pensioners, but otherwise I would avoid.

Came on my own to go to the Welsh Open Brass contest. I arrived after work on the Friday evening to a warm welcome. I ordered a meal & dropped off my stuff in the room. The room had everything I needed & was nicely decorated. It was clean & warm with plenty of tea/coffee provisions. A good tv & the bed was comfy. I had a good night’s sleep. There’s a car park for residents & the rooms over look it. The restaurant was quite busy & the lady serving was welcoming & quick to serve everyone. I had scampi & chips which was nice & also plentiful. The trifle afterwards was lovely & home made. It’s an honest good value motel. I would stay here again without hesitation.

This was the first time we had eaten in this restaurant. We were presented with an excellent 3 course Christmas lunch. Whilst the restaurant was packed and there were no empty tables, the service was first class. We were a table of 12 people, who had previously booked. Nothing was too much trouble for the waitresses. The food was first class. Nice and hot. The prawn cocktail to start with was first class with plenty of prawns. The beef dinner was certainly home made. There was plenty of potatoes and the vegetables were sprouts, carrots and peas. The gravy was served nicely in a gravy boat. The apple pie and custard was superb. It was not too sweet or sickly. If there was a criticism to be made then it would have been nice if the vegetables had been in tureens and not dished up on the plate when the food arrived. The staff were excellent and could not be faulted. We will definitely be back.

This place needs a lot of TLC. It looks like something from the 1970's. The food used to be ok here but now its really boring and bland and hasnt changed in all the years I have visited. The food is mainly "homecooked" type food aimed at OAP's. Some of the staff are friendly & helpful, although beware of the manager. I find that The Angel Inn or The Prince further up the road are much more in the year 2014 and are very friendly & helpful.

We decided to give this place a go for some lunch. When we got there we noticed that the place was predominantly filled with OAPs. Since we had my two year old nephew with us we asked if it would be okay to sit in the lounge rather than the main restaurant so my nephew wouldn't make a nuisance of himself which the staff happily agreed. The food was really nice and the service was good. For a quick bite for lunch the portions were very good and i would definitely come back again. Staff were very helpful.

Family visit for Sunday lunch, 85 year old likes it there, most of the customers looked like pensioners too. Portions ample and served quickly by pleasant staff, but the food was only OK in quality with meat and most of the veg surprisingly lacking in taste despite not being overcooked. Nothing wrong with it, but for me there are better Sunday lunches in the area for a similar price.

Ate here many a time. Last few times have been so dreadful will never go back. Service was terrible, miserable waitress's and ages left between courses. Garlic mushrooms were about 4 cut on a tea plate- no bread or accompaniment. Sweet & sour chicken was awfull! Full of grease. Partner had burnt cod in batter and friends were also dissapointed. Seems to have gone down hill which is a terrible shame.

This is a first class award winning fish and chip shop. Fish / chicken nuggets cooked to order. Great selection of pies, fish, sausages, rissoles, curry etc. My great grandchildren love chips and chicken nuggets or pie or sausage form there together with a Slush Puppy. Give them a try!

Eight of us visited here for a mid week birthday meal. We all had a fabulous meal at a reasonable price. A big variety on the menu along with the specials board. Nothing was too much trouble for our waitress, who is working while at college. We were offered extra chips and we were also given cream to go with a birthday cake we had brought ourselves. The lady in the kitchen was fab too, nothing was too much trouble and the food was superb. I will definitely be visiting again.

I came home Thursday evening to find my wife shaking and crying. She had been to Tesco Extra Bridgend and been treated as a thief even though she had paid for everything. She bought a tent which had a security tag on it. The staff member at the self checkout area could not remove the security tag. When my wife went to leave the shop she explained this to the security guard who told her she needed to show him the receipt. This was in one of the shopping bags and she could not find it. All the guard needed to do was reprint the receipt which is easy to do using the club card or just by returning to the checkout and printing them out until the right one is found. It had been about two minutes so easy to find. He didn’t do that. The guard instead loudly interrogated my wife in front of other customers. The duty manager was called and he did nothing. He didn’t stop the guard verbally attacking my wife and didn’t suggest they simply reprint the receipt. Why? My wife left the store and walked to her car. She is a defenceless small woman, and she was by herself and the guard followed her. He refused to let her leave until she had handed over the tent, so stole it as legally it was hers as she had paid for it. He threatened her so she gave him the tent. The guard bullied her. The worst type of bullying. My wife was scared, intimidated, frightened, embarrassed and humiliated as other customers witnessed this and would possibly believe she stole the tent, so is a thief, as the tent was taken off her. What else would they think? Though very shaken my wife returned to the store. She asked that a replacement receipt be printed which another member of staff did. It showed the tent had been paid for so she asked for it back. She told the guard he was wrong to do what he did. He did not apologise, nor did the completely useless duty manager. The guard told her she was banned from the store, because she dared to stand up to his bullying and tell him he was wrong to treat her the way he did. The duty manager still did nothing. That security guard followed a woman, on her own, to her car and threatened her. That can never be the right action, not ever. That guard is a bully. If that is the way Tesco treat their customers then I won’t be returning there. I used to work for Tesco and out of loyalty we still shop there 40 years later. I won’t shop there again. I did go to the shop and made a formal complaint but have heard nothing. Neither the duty manager or guard were there. My wife complained on line but so far has heard nothing. The behaviour of the security guard was threatening so I have reported this to the police as threatening somebody is a crime.

Fair play, took our Nephew for his 18th, good choice on menu (nan breads a bit small tho😔) however, the food was excellent, good value for money and the service was quick. A bit quiet for any atmosphere, but what a clean and tidy pub, much much nicer than many many others I could care to mention. I can definitely recommend the Lodge to try, we'll definitely be back, lunchtime or evening, the menu has plenty of choice 👍
