Having arrived to stay in the hotel for a week, we decided to eat in the restruarant, very bland and not at all our idea of a curry. There is some publcity concerning the chefs notoriety as having cooked for the rich and famous, when the waiter was asked who these stars were, he responded by stating that,"sometimes you have to tell a few lies". All in all a disaster of a stay, we didn't eat there again

Not sure if this is a hotel with a restaurant attached or a restaurant with a hotel attached, either way both are excellent, our room was lovely and clean as was the bathroom. The food in the restaurant was of excellent quality, both my wife and i had different chicken dishes and shared and both dishes the chicken was suculent not at all dried out perfectly spiced and seasoned, everything was hot. I can highly recomend a visit to either.

Ordered a takeaway from here, chicken madras, mushroom rice, naan bread, probably the worst takeaway I’ve ever had, the madras was inedible, like water. Will never use again

It was really slow service and the food was just tepidly hot. The restaurant was empty and lacked any atmosphere. To some it up in a word, Mediocre. We’ll ever go back here again.

We ordered this via Uber eats and stupidly didn’t check the reviews properly beforehand! We ordered a variety of dishes including a chicken lamb and prawn biryani, chicken tikka, a garlic naan, and bhindi bhaji. The biryani was absolutely awful. It had no flavour whatsoever! Honestly felt like I was just eating plain rice. The vegetable curry it came with compromised of a pack of frozen veg dumped in a very oily and tasteless curry sauce. The chicken tikka was flavoursome but incredibly dry, to the point where it just crumbled away when touched. The garlic in the naan was over cooked and left a horrible aftertaste in the mouth. The mint sauce was literally a pot of yoghurt with no other flavouring and some food colouring. The only decent dish was the bhindi bhaji but again this was covered in oil. In summary, with no exaggerations, this has got to be the worst food I’ve ever eaten. Would not recommend.

Ordered a takeaway through Deliveroo, the restaurant delivered themselves. The Chicken Chat on Puri was dry and had too many onions in it. The Chicken Tikka Ceylon main dish, which we ordered two of, was nothing more than a korma - it was very tasteless. When we have had Ceylon dishes elsewhere, they have been very HOT (at least madras hot!) The Keema Rice had almost meat in it. The Bombay Aloo, although it was cooked OK, was laced in tomato puree (not nice)! Why are we paying for a Chicken Tikka Ceylon (which is supposed to be a hot dish), when we only got a korma? We have not even tried the Keema Naan yet - not expecting much from that either unfortunately. VERY DISAPPOINTED!!!!

Had a takeaway delivered. Had a chicken jalfrezi absolutely bang on flavours. Hot and spicey. Ice amount of chilli. Also had a chicken tikka biriyani which was lovely. Korma was a bit underwhelming. Breads were nice. Can’t really fault it. Blinding delivery driver. Great staff at the restaurant who called when they couldn’t find me. I’ll be using them again.

Ordered take away. BIG MISTAKE. Food full of old oil. Sag prawn was all old oil. Cauliflower bhaji was so hard couldn’t cut it. Had a couple of mouthfuls of my prawn sag and felt sick! This used to be one of the best Indian restaurants in the area. I could have easily cooked better myself. What a waste of money! Don’t make the same mistake I did. Don’t eat from this restaurant!

Where do I start?? Ordered a Uber takeaway. What was delivered was actually probably is the worst Indian takeaway I have had. Raw uncooked doughy naan, a sickly sweet CRIMSON coloured paneer dish.. a jalfrezi which they seem to have forgotten to cook fully.. I don’t get why these Bangladeshi chefs don’t just open up bangi fish and rice restaurants, that’s there staple back home.. leave the Indian to Indian chefs.. Unbelievably bad food.. please swerve this joint.. as I said in the title … OBSCENE..

We have used this restaurant for many years for delivery and dine in. We probably order every 3 months or so. We have given them the benefit of the doubt the last couple of times with missing items (which they brought later) and late deliveries. But we thought we would give one last try this Saturday - We ordered at 18:12 and it arrived at 20:00 (after chasing up) - We were also due a free Bombay Aloo for orders over £30 - which we also did not get. The dishes are nowhere near as authentic as they used to be - more generic looking and tasting. The flavours are also bland.

This place used to be really good.. forget it. Only red and white wine and vodka. Starters where ok. Main corse was stone cold, they returned within 4 mins and told us the had re- cooked the food not nuked it yet the dishes were red hot. We used them for take a way too, never again

I ordered from here on deliveroo and my food took ages to come, I really wouldn’t have minded however when the food turned up it was stone cold. I ordered a chicken korma that was cold and gritty and my rice and Nan were also cold. After waiting an hour for it to turn up I at least would’ve expected it to be hot. Ive eaten from here a few times before, a few years ago and had no problems so I was really disappointed. I rang the restaurant to explain the situation and ask for a refund, politely as I don’t like to make a fuss and the person on the phone told me the manager would ring me the next day, after telling me that I was wrong and my food was hot. No one rang me the next day. I literally took 1 mouthful of the food, realised it was cold, so tried heating it up in the microwave but the gritty texture of the curry was so bad I couldn’t eat it. So I threw it away along with my money I never got back. Very disappointed won’t be coming here again.

Ordered through Uber eats, tracked delivery which was acceptable, when it didn’t turn up after 20 mins over predicated time a call was made to the restaurant. A joker on the other end of the phone blamed the bad weather (wet roads from previous rain shower) for the delay, they’re 8 mins up the road! Another 15 minutes and the food turned up, cold and tasteless. The delivery driver said he got there as quickly as possible and he had other deliveries before us (further away). After ringing to complain and asking what we they were going to do about it an arrogant restaurant staff said to bring the food back for a refund! When I asked what the complaints procedure was, I was told to go onto the Uber app and complain before having the phone slammed down on me! I’m summary: terrible service, rude staff, appalling delivery and poor food! I can see why there are so many negative comments and wish I’d checked Trip advisor before contacting this awful establishment.

Ordered a takeaway online which was 25 mins for collection. They rang and got told 15 mins after 10 mins got there in 15 minutes only to wait another 15 minutes so 40 in total. Didn’t seem to trust customers so only cook food when u arrive. Food quality gone downhill along with portions. Seems they focus more on hotel element now as they had run out of beer and tandoori chicken. Won’t be back

Food was nice, but the service is terrible. The atmosphere in the restaurant is non existent. It’s both clinical and sterile and lacking anything that would make you want to return. Such a shame as the food is well cooked and flavoursome. The service leaves a lot to be desired.

Came here as a group of 8, they wasn’t expecteing us even though we booked 6 weeks ago, staff moved tables around quickly to sort out our booking, 20 mins passed and we asked if we could have a drink, another half hour went by We asked if we could place our order when the food came the waiter didn’t know what he was bringing out and muddled our order so people got the wrong food we use to come here Years ago it was a brilliant night out with traditional atmosphere, now no atmosphere! Only alcoholic drinks are beer and wine Grat as a takeaway but Wouldn’t go back to eat in the restaurant x

Staying in the hotel upstairs for 1 night and couldn't be bothered to venture out for food and I am glad we didn't. Both being vegetarians and hating mushrooms, sometimes finding alternative food can be tough but not here. The food was superb and the friendliness was apparent too. I went for the Paneer Tikka Masala and my fiancee went for the Vegetarian Manchurian (was spicy and made her nose run) but both dishes were superb along with the cheese naan bread. I had never been here before and yes the set up of the restaurant is modern with not many tables but is this a bad thing? The servers were wearing relaxed clothing which again isn't a bad thing. Ultimately it's about the food and cost and for what we ate, the cost was under £40. I do also have to say the Onion Bhajis were extremely tasty too. If I am back in this area then I will return here for dinner. Also, they DO have an alcohol licence.

We had a takeaway in August, which was excellent. Today we thought we would treat ourselves to a midweek meal out. Service was very good, restaurant is bright and very welcoming. We enjoyed our food, good use of spices, very generous portions. (plenty for tomorrow). We will be back.

The service was the worst I have experienced for years. Had to constantly ask to place order, for cutlery, for more drinks etc. However, the food was really very good. In a way I wish it had matched the service so could just add it to the one to avoid list. Now left undecided but on balance don’t think I will return.

Just return from the Green Spice Restaurant the first time we have been in the Restaurant since the refurb , may be a year ago!! The food was Excellent just as I hoped it would be, the Restaurant is still having some finishing touches done, but be for long it will feel like home.. So pleased it's back up and running..

First time at Green spice since the refurb. Family of 6, booked easily over the phone. We were told we could bring our own alcohol, and that there was a restricted menu. We would never have known as there was plenty to choose from. I went for the vegetarian Dhansak, onion Bhaji and peswari nann. My meal was absolutely delicious. We were well looked after by the staff and felt the cost of £90 for six of us was a great deal. Will defo be coming back. Yum yum.

Ordered a vegetable biriyani which came with a vegetable curry and the tub of curry was full of oil . I had to drain it all off before I could face eating it . The actual biriyani was very bland and tasteless . Very disappointed. My son ordered a chicken korma and there was hardly any sauce on the chicken and so he found it very dry . Would not order a takeaway from here again .

Always come here If we are out for a curry, plenty more in my area but worth the travel. We normally request we sit on the left as you enter as nice large round table. We have even visited here for the Sunday buffets which i would also recommend.

I travelled from North London to get to the green spice. Unfortunately I had not check the official website and the restaurant was closed for refurbishment. Nevertheless, they opened a take away from a sister branch at 449 Princes Road, DA1 1RB, which is very close and good too.I loved it, nothing else to say.Please try this amazing Indian option!

My partner and I wanted to eat somewhere close to Bluewater as that’s where we’re going. Friends recommended this Curry house and we was not disappointed. Parking was difficult but I think that’s due to building works going on.Waiters were not over friendly but attentive enough. The food was fresh and tasty. Big portions too. Reasonably priced. I would say the only downfall was some of the other customers eating close by were loud and using disgusting language, not that I’m a prude or a snob but did ruin the atmosphere a little. Although we are likely to still stick to our local curry house, we would eat here again and I would recommend this restaurant.

A good curry house with friendly staff. Had the buffet for Sunday lunch. A few different starters, onion bhajis, poppadoms, naan bread and a selection of chutneys. Tender tandoori chicken, bombay potatoes, pilau rice, a mushroom dish, a couple of different chicken curries and a lamb dopiaza. Even chips were on offer if wanted. A good selection of dishes for the very reasonably priced buffet. Well worth the money and a return visit.

Always a winner, best curry house in the area in my opinion A little more expensive but we'll worth it. Always clean and nice atmosphere. No need to book.

A really stylisy Indian restaurant. Good range of specials as well as the usual suspects! had a really spicy vegetable dhanzak with really fragrant pilau rice. My co-diners really enjoyed their milder curries and the extras. very firendly and attentive staff.

We've just been for a meal at Green Spice and found it a lovely place to eat. Mixed with couples, groups and families, the atmosphere was very friendly and the staff are incredibly professional. The food was amazing and what we didn't eat we took home. Highly recommend.

Absolutely appalling customer service from the manager , I was told my delivery would be within the hour I called after 1 hour 15 min to see what was going on and the manager told me I was lying he had told me it would be over a hour ... but I explained if that was the case I would of asked how long ( this was not the case, he had told me 1 hour) he then proceeded to tell me ‘ well cancil the order then as it did not bother him as he was to bizzy to deal with my complaint ‘ not the actions in my eyes of someone being in charge of a restaurant, avoid this restaurant if ‘ rahall’ is in charge you will be left livid , I asked who his boss was to take this complaint formal and was told no one was his boss he is the boss ....appalling delivery service

The food here is amazing cannot be faulted, neither can the service all staff were friendly and efficient. Great value and very family friendly too. Will definitely be returning.

A large family group ate here this evening. 18 including all ages from 85 to 2 and all of use had a very pleasant experience.

Ordered a takeaway at 18:52 via online email stated delivery 19:52 called restaurant at 20:15 a sing where our delivery was they said that it's raining hard and roads are wet and they only have 3 delivery drivers at this point they said they will send the food out. Called again at 21:00 when asked about the delivery he said he couldn't contact the delivery driver and food was sent out 15 minutes ago. Well it's 22:00 now, no delivery.

I took my 19 year son here yesterday and we had the afternoon buffet at around 2:00.

We first had a meal here in May and now return once or twice a month.

So we first dined here some ten or more years ago and go back every time we visit Kent. It's a tradition now and we go with our great friends and have a brilliant meal and a laugh! We have never had an issue as the food and service has always been spot on!

We took my Dad her for Father's Day this year. The place wasn't full by any means but the wait to get...well anything was ridiculous. We waited 45mins for a starter and the main took forever to arrive. We needed a drinks refresh as we were all sat there with empty glasses so tried to get the attention of the numerous staff multiple times to no avail. One of them actually looked at the table, looked directly at the empty glasses and just shuffled off.

Visited with family, the food was ok the service was good. Went there a few years back and was expecting the same quality food but was a bit dissapointed. But all in all a good experience

Just had an amazing takeaway from here! Food was lovely, and plenty of it...they have a good vegetarian selection. We had the Chinese/Indian fusion dumplings - they were fantastic.

The food here was pretty good and tasty. It was a good serving size wise. The service was good but I found in there it felt like it was missing something. It felt like a working man's club inside with table numbers on stands. It didn't feel as classy as the food did because the restaurant could do with redecorating.

We had a takeaway from here last Friday, must say it was very nice food, was delivered within the time frame we were given and was good value for money, will be using the green spice restaurant again .

I came here on Wednsday with a group of friends and I had to write a review as this place should definitely be recommended! We had the most amazing food! The restaurant was very clean and tidy with a hygiene rating of 4 which is good and the staff so friendly and polite! I will definitely go back and strongly recommend!

I absolutely love Green Spice! I have been coming here for almost 6 years, almost twice every month - the other reviews are far from accurate!! I have never received bad service from this restaurant. The service is immaculate, they're so friendly and reassuring, ensuring that everything is perfect. They have plenty of car park spaces which allows more room for more of my family and friends! I highly highly recommend this restaurant, not only is the food delicious, the service is amazing! The menu is full of amazing dishes and my favourite dish is the King Prawn Curry!!!

myself and a few friends pulled in to the Green Spice car park on Friday21st July and walked round to the front of the restaurant only to see a member of staff swatting flies inside the restaurant window, needless to say we done a quick u turn and headed for Hawley Kitchen where we all had a lovely meal. its not hard to see why Green Spice has a 1star food hygiene rating .....AVOID LIKE THE PLAGUE

We go the Green Spice about once a month - food is always delicious menu has different choices to a lot of restaurants. Everyone is always really friendly and make you feel very welcome. Loking forward to our next visit.

This place is by far the best Indian restaurant I have ever been to !!! The food is fresh and hot , waiting times are a little bit long but for the quality of the food you can tolerate a wait . Go here every year for anniversary, valentines .

We visited for a birthday, and found the service was good and the staff friendly.I thought the quality of food was good, but a couple of the group thought that it was only adequate. We've eaten at Green Spice many times and have always enjoyed both the food and the service; however I agree with a previous reviewer that said their experience is "hit and miss".I ordered a takeaway for collection online on Saturday night. The first thing that happened when I arrived was that the guy running the takeaway desk had a go at me for paying online! (There is no option to pay when you collect - you have to pay online as you'd expect). He was somewhat rude and I did not expect this to be the initial experience having just arrived.When I returned home, we were disappointed with the food. The raita was just Greek yoghurt that was somewhat curdled and disgusting.My wife's biryani was bland and the vegetable curry that came with it was very greasy.A shame, as I usually love eating at Green Spice.

Gradually going down hill. Been going here and ordering take aways for 8 years. Used to be consistently excellent but now it is very hit and miss.The last two times we have ordered takeaway, the food has been substandard. Having lived in East London for 26 years, I have explored the menus of one too many Indian restaurants. Having said that, this is THE best I've ever been to. Everything we ordered was mouthwatering, this was largerly because of a their new chef Mintu who personally came out to greet us and asked about perferences and reviews. Service doesn't get much better than that guys! Cannot fault this restaurant at all! Amazing place, would definitely come here again and recommend to all my friend and family.

Recent visit with work colleagues on 26/04/17.This was my 1st visit and I have to say the food was excellent. All 3 of us had a sea food dish, Salmon Tikka, Goan Fish Curry and King Prawn special of which all were cooked perfectly. The King Prawn sauce could have been slightly spicier but didn't deter from fact I enjoyed it.The service was good and overall the experience was very good. We visited early evening and the restaurant was only 1/4 full so whether or not the same levels are maintained at peak I'm unsure.

Food here is delicious with a great selection and wonderful attentive staff. Great for quite nights or if you have a large party

Enjoyed a meal with a large group of colleagues (28 of us). The staff were very attentive. We did have to wait quite a while for our meal, but my understanding was that they were trying to serve us all at the same time. Popodoms & drinks etc were available in the mean time.Although I didn't think I'd over ordered the portions were of a good size, and I couldn't finish.I have give 4 stars rather than 5 because the establishment had seated us in one long line broken in the middle by the fire exit, despite having booked well in advance. This made socialising difficult, as seating spaces weren't big. It would have been better to put us in one corner so we could chat and move about more easily.Food alone was very good value, only costing around £17 per head (without drinks).

Been going for years and last few visits food was nice but service really bad. Rude especially when u are regular customer.

Went along to this restaurant to try out for the Sunday buffet and was pleasantly surprised. Nice starters tandoori chicken and papadums. Chicken madras or chicken tikka masala were two of the main dishes. Good value would come again. Advice is to starve yourself as it's an eat as much as you can.

My partner and I visited last night as is close to where we have moved to. We were a little apprehensive as the reviews were very mixed but we gave it a go.When we arrived It was extremely busy (so it must be good!) The service was brilliant, the wait staff were friendly and attentive and during our meal a member of the kitchen staff came over to see if our meal was ok.The food was great, big portions (had practically a whole chicken breast in my korma!) We will definitely return. If you want a quiet evening meal I personally wouldn't recommend a Saturday night as it's a lively, buzzy atmosphere.

Go here often, love the place. Has a new menu and it's really good, already planning to go back...takeaways are just as good! Mmmmmmm

Love this restaurant. We never book (too disorganised) but they will always try and accommodate us. Waiters are fantastic and great with the kids. Food is good too.

After arguing with a delivery driver who wouldn't move out of the only space in the car park for 10 minutes, we went in to find our table had not been booked and were told a table was being sorted.We waited for 10 minutes to then hear two members of staff discussing the fact they were still waiting for people to finish their meal so that we could have the table. No one bothered to explain this to us so we left and won't be returning! The car park attendant is also useless after telling us to argue with the delivery driver ourselves if we wanted him to move!

This is my favourite place to go when I want an indian! The staff are very attentive and lovely. The food is amazing and they have a lot of choice! Drinks can be a little expensive but that's the same wherever you go! I would highly recommend green spice!

I live around the corner and have only been here once which was 6 years ago so thought I'd try it out as I'm always passing it and the car park always seems to be packed which shows it's a good place to eat out. So my friend and I decided to at in. I booked the night before with no problems. Food I couldn't fault as it was delicious. I had: poppadoms, mango chutney, garlic naan bread, chicken korma and plain rice. Price was absolutely fine for what my friend and I had ordered. However, the service I wasn't pleased with. Took a while to just order drinks to start off with. After we received our drinks we then waited a long time. We even shut our menus to show that we were ready to order but nope carried on waiting and in the end had to ask someone if we could place our order. Waiter didn't seem like he wanted to be there, gave a "I can't be bothered impression". A few of them kept hovering around near our table as if to rush us to eat our food. Later when we asked for the bill they gave us a chocolate and a rose each. We decided to pay cash. The amount I put down was more than the bill total so we sat there waiting for our change and no change was given. They took it upon themselves to keep the change. We walked out as I didn't want to create a scene. Don't get me wrong if the service was good i would have left a tip. We got no " thank you" or "see you soon" or anything. Don't think I'll be eating out here again!

Sunday buffet was a little disappointing. A small range of dishes each flavoursome but we expected more variety. Decor and lighting in need of an update, service too slow considering the turnout.

After moving a few months ago my mission is to find a good curry house in the Longfield area. All the restaurants seem to get mixed reviews so we thought we would try this first..1. From the outside it doesn't look that impressive ( an old pub ) and for most its somewhere you would drive to, rather than stumble from the local pub ( The Ship Inn isn't to far away so maybe you can ) but when we entered it was clean with a fairly good decor and good atmosphere. The car park is of a decent size, although at 7.30pm it was already nearly full.2.The staff were welcoming and all friendly.3. The food was of good value and quality and good portion size as well!Overall this place is really good. Why not 5 stars? Probably because I have been to another curry house recently that has been refurbished ( so has the modern look/feel) so it has the edge. Also its somewhere for me I have to drive too.I will return for sure....Give it a try!

I used to visit regularly when the restaurant was top notch. For the last few years it's been going downhill. I tried it again tonight for a takeaway. My wife and I both had lamb dishes. The meat had clearly just returned from The World's Strongest Lamb competition. It was so tough I was nervous to bite into it. The flavour of the curries was ok but they were over spiced with a ton of garlic. We had some starters too which were fine and it was nice to get a few extra popadoms. Overall not anywhere near where it used to be. £26 for that takeaway was far too dear for the tough old mutton we were served. Would not recommend anymore.
