It was not very very good, but good. It should be more spacious. Food quality and price was quite comfortable.

Booked a table for 17 asked on arrival name phone number shown to table sat down had startes then told we are on wrong table with another booking had to move with 5 young children manager arrogant and rude waited another 2 hours before food came to be served at all different times and to be told ranbout of food for a child which at this time was getting late crying hungry kids poor service & mannerisms from manager waiting staff & bar staff polite table was booked for Early hours and left 31/2 hours later lost our custom usually spend £350 plus each visit there loss no more eating there for us has a family.

Visited on 19/2/22. Part way through my meal, (i was the only one in the restaurant) a couple with a buggy containing a sleeping baby came into the room. I witnessed the Waiter (who was already rude and came across as arrogant.) move the couple from table to table several times within a space of a couple of minutes. Then when the couple refused to collapse wake the baby and then collapse the buggy, he asked them to leave as he wouldn’t serve them. The couple promptly left. If i hadn’t been partway through my meal i would have joined in protest and left the restaurant without ordering. Totally disgusting behaviour and the worst customer service i’ve ever witnessed. You’d have to wonder if i’d been in a wheelchair would they have served me??? I would avoid this place like the plague.

We needed a good, filling, tasty meal and it was exactly what we wanted. The food came quickly and it was all good - lamb korma, pilau rice, spinach, dall etc. The restaurant is old fashioned but we had a good meal and enjoyed ourselves.

We really should have booked a restaurant coming to London but didn't bother and ended up here. It turned out to be a big mistake. They'd ran out of poppadoms before 20:00. The food was lukewarm and mine was undercooked. It tasted awful, portions small. The spices on mine had just been dumped on top, not even stirred. The night before I'd eaten a ready meal which was much better. We left very dissapointed and quite surprised how bad a curry could be in a restaurant. Next time we will plan and read the reviews before chancing it.

We arrived on a Friday evening and despite being busy, we were welcomed and quickly found a table. The staff were friendly, polite and courteous, the food delicious and the red wine we ordered was beautiful. The restaurant had a great atmosphere. We will definitely be returning.

The worst Indian meal i have ever had. Arrived just before 10pm on a Friday night. Restaurant was totally empty apart from one couple who were leaving as we approached. As the tube strike was in full swing and stopped people from getting into central london, we didn’t let this put us off and gave the place the benefit of the doubt. Ordered a pint of coke which arrived warm & flat. Again, not the biggest issue so went on to order food. Prawn cocktail starter, was told they did not have this. Ordered bhuna prawn. Very odd taste. My partner ordered a duck dish from the menu, but was told no duck either. I got chicken vindaloo. Very poor indeed. Chicken ok but curry not tasty at all. Bland naan bread. Asked for vinegar for a shared portion of chips, no vinegar. Keema rice sticky and contained the cheapest tasting mince which has gristle in it, truly awful. All of our party left the majority of the food ordered. As soon as we had finished we were presented with the bill and pretty much asked to leave. That was after the member of staff had hovered round the table a few times coughing as if to hint we needed to leave. Zero atmosphere in the restaurant, no music. Just very poor food and service. Sorry guys, we gave you a chance.

I wish I could rate this restaurant lower than one. The waiter was visibly ill and coughing all over the restaurant without covering his mouth even after we kindly asked him to. We paid and walked out before getting our food hoping not to have caught something.

Je suis étonnée de lire de si mauvais avis ... J'y ai dîné un soir de semaine où il y avait peu de monde. Le service était très cordial, poli, rien à signaler. La cuisine servie est classique et habituelle pour un restaurant indien. J'ai pu choisir plusieurs petits plats de légumes du fait que je suis végétarienne (alors que ces petits plats de légumes sont normalement des accompagnements pour les gros plats de viande). Cuisine bonne et avec du goût. Lassi nature très bon aussi. Je trouve en revanche que les tarifs sont un peu élevés, c'est en tout cas + cher que dans un restaurant indien à Paris par exemple. mais en même temps, tout est toujours un peu + cher à Londres.

Awful food. Ordered onion bhaji starter which was the size and shape of tennis ball, no salad and no mint sauce. Main course swimming in grease. Staff hover wanting to take plates whilst you’re still eating. That’s just an example food wasn’t good and 12.5% service charge is a joke.

Disgusting. Food was average. Staff is very rude, unprofessional. Very greedy. They put chutneys, pickles on the table. When you consume, they charge you for that, how disgusting is that. As an indian would not recommend this restaurant.

I'm shocked of the reviews! I'M SO GLAD I DIDN'T READ THEM BEFORE GOING IN THERE. I am a big fan of curries and I can happily recommend this restaurant without doubts!!! The food was fenomenal,and the ambience very relaxing. The waiters were friendly with us, but I can see that language barriers could be the factor for some people saying that the personnel is rude. We saw that they were trying their best to give good costumer service. We found out that the restaurant has been there for more than 40 years, has the same chef for 27 years, so he knows his curries well, and we will definitely be back for some more. The garlic and chilly chicken curry is mouthwatering.

Cuisine maison et service rapide. Prix très raisonnables. Mon conseil : essayez le poulet Vindaloo, c’est le feu assuré !!!

Great Indian food in Covent Garden and one of the best in London. We always get the Balti Shrimp Jalfrezi and it’s the best we have ever had. Mo, the owner, is a super friendly and nice guy. We always stop here for dinner when visiting London.

We went in for lunch it was terrible, waiters were rude or didn't speak just grunted! The food came mildly hot, felt sick after eating some of it so didn't finish it!Ventured downstairs to the toilet, the carpet on the stairs we black, the toilet floor was covered in hair, the can't on the ceiling has stuff growing out of it! That evening my boyfriend felt unwell as well.Would never go back there

On entering the restaurant after a show around 10.25pm the restaurant was half full. We were sat near the opening door so every time the door opened it was really cold. When the waiter came to take our order I asked if we could move as I was cold. This resulted in what I class as "eye rolling" and then advising me that the other EMPTY tables were for 4 people. I informed him again that I was cold due to the door . He did move us with the attitude that I was "putting him out". Our food was fine so no complaints there. However on leaving all the other spare tables had not been taken up by anyone else , he had plenty of set tables to move us too so there was no need for his dismissal attitude at the start. It does annoy me though when restaurants in London include the service charge as the staff can then give poor service as they know they are going to get their tip regardless.

Myself and my partner ate here this evening, firstly the food was inedible and the service was unbelievable unprofessional. Myself and my boyfriend went outside for a quick cigarette (we told the waiter that we were doing this) as we went outside three of the waiters jumped my boyfriend and accused him of not paying. And after all of this we were then charged £97 for what I can only describe as dog s***.

We have eaten at this restaurant on a few occasions and the food is fantastic. The balti is the best we have ever tasted. The staff are friendly and the prices good.

Where do I start. ! From entering the restaurant to leaving it was without doubt the worst experience I have encountered in a restaurant. On entry, almost immediately, the staff were handing over us and forcing us to order. We just wanted to settle down and have a chat. Food was very average and they were very inflexibly in placing my order. So much came out looking and tasting as having been pre-cooked! So we have finished , and without asking the bill lands on our table, they are inviting us to leave , table is pulled out but we had not finished. There was no offer of Coffee etc .

Nous avons pris un menu complet, destiné aux non connaisseurs. Entrées et plat principal corrests. Les fruits du desserts, n'étaient plus qu'une glace vanille que nous n'aimons pas. cet établissement devait changer de fournisseur de café, sutout qu'il ne sert pas de thé. Les tables sont trop petites pour contenir les plats, les verres et les bouteilles. on est mal à l'aise. nous avions commandé un verre de rouge et un verre de blanc, nous ne savons toujours pas leur provenance...

I would give this restaurant 0 if it was possible. We visited on Saturday after seeing that it was pretty full, they seated us and then avoided eye contact until they could be bothered to come over and serve us - one member of staff looked at me and then shook his head as if to say no to serving us.

Restaurant bien situé entre Covent Garden et Leicester square, mais la nourriture n'est pas à la hauteur. Plats mal assaisonnés (trop de sel dans le byriani et l'aloo palak et pas suffisamment dans le dal), excès de petits pois dans les préparations. Présentation des thalis peu pratique, avec des contenants profonds mais de petits diamètres ; d'ailleurs, pourquoi prévoir un thali végétarien et un non-végétarien, et pas un mixte des 2? Service nonchalant et obséquieux.

Comida deliciosa! El servicio muy bueno! El dueño nos recibió y nos explico el menú. El lugar limpio. Es pequeño pero cozy, las mejor comida India que he probado!

Comida Indiana no centro Londres com ambiente concorrido. O local fica próximo ao Covent Garden Market. Possui comida boa, com porções generosas e preço justo.

Very average food, old school and very uninspiring. What was far less pleasant was the staff attitude. Disinterested and less than friendly.

We happened on this restaurant during our visit to London and we were not disappointed by the quality of the food. The vegetable Briyani was well seasoned and very importantly was not salty. The sauce, the roti and the Naan were excellent. Very tasty.

Necesitaba una comida alrededor de Covent Garden. Apareció. Parece que le gusta la década de 1970. Enormemente caro Mi comida fue como arroz con aserrín. Realmente tan malo. También esperamos durante 40 minutos y estaba casi vacío. Mi compañero se veía un poco mejor tbh.

Los camareros son muy groseros y la comida sabe mal. . No es broma. Ni siquiera respetan a los mayores. La hospitalidad es cero! No malgastes tu dinero en esta pésima comida. Si alguien quiere probar una buena comida india, ve a The Curry. La comida vale la pena el precio.

Simply superb. I went to the Grand Indian with my father and really enjoyed it. I ordered the Grand Dinner for only £25.95. Worth every penny and would highly recommend! There was so much food I couldn't finish. Between the two of us, the bill was £63.00,incredibly reasonable for London. We felt that the service charge of 12.5% wasn't enough and would recommend leaving an extra tip for the waiters. The waiter beamed when I ordered the Grand Dinner and a £6.95 fruit cocktail, and the service was splendid for the duration of the meal. Even though the restaurant wasn't fully air conditioned as advertised, the temperature was still bearable. Disregard the other negative reviews; this is a must-do for everyone in London!!

Serve mix liquor,good liquor mixed with local brand and serve beef in the name of chicken or lamb. Never go to this restaurant. Dishoom is very good and it's near this restaurant,go at Dishoom.

NO COMER AQUI. Le daría 0 estrellas si eso fuera posible. Son ladrones y el servicio al cliente es despreciable. Este restaurante debe estar cerrado. Me encontré con algunos amigos para comer aquí una noche y éramos los únicos en el restaurante. Los camareros eran groseros, pero no les prestamos mucha atención. Luego, cuando llegó el momento de partir, dejé mi billetera en la mesa. Salimos y me di cuenta de mi error no más de 5 minutos después. Oh my. How does this place survive? I guess the answer is location. It sure fooled us. My wife and I had dinner here. The waiter was bordering rude. He tried to up sell everything. My king prawn korma was OK but my wife’s lamb pasanda was bland. The service was completely passive. The waiter had no communication skills and may never have served a bottle of wine before. The table was tiny and barely had room for our dishes. Find another Indian restaurant.

Deliciosa comida, me la prepararon super picante, deliciosa, muy amables los meseros, las bebidas a precios razonables, quedé super satisfecha, se los recomiendo, y me regalaron muchos chocolatitos muy ricos, muchísimas gracias!

Nicht geplanter Besuch, hungrig nach langem Gehen. Auf den ersten Blick sympathisch - auch einheimische i.e. indische Gäste. Sehr höflicher Empfang, es ist eng aber man ist ungestört. Sehr sauber und kein aufdringlicher Essens (oder Biergeruch). Speisenauswahl sehr ausführlich beschrieben, auch Schärfegrad. Ausgezeichnetes Essen - Butter chicken tandoori und veg Tali und auf meinen Wunsch noch Palak paneer. Schmeckte wie in Indien (Mitte) . Wir kommen wieder !

Food and service was excellent. We arrived just enclosing time however they agreed to cook just the main meal for us but all was of excellent quality. The only criticism was the garlic naan bread there was too much garlic pieces on it chopped in large pieces and a lacking of butter!

So let's be honest - Faulty Towers would have at least been entertaining. Went there today with my wife and from the get go the service was just bizarre and very poor. The waiter who led us to our table didn't engage in eye contact or proper manners, and kept muttering under his breathe. For a large coke, the price was nearly £5; the waiter did not come to us, the customers, to take our initial drink order, we had to ask him to come over, and this was after about 10 minutes - we had at this point decided on what we wanted to eat, so thought to order everything in one go - hardly the words had come out of my mouth that i wanted two cokes, that he just walked away from the table, and I had to wait another 3 or 4 minutes before someone else came to the table to take the rest of our order (we must have had 4 different waiters in total 'looking after us')! The food itself wasn't terrible, although the poppadoms had seen better days, and the onion bhaji were slightly burnt and came with no side salad; the table at which we were sat was so small that our mains would not fit on the table (they decided not to clear our table of our starters first) - and so the waiter decided to serve our rice and curries onto our plates himself, no questions beforehand first! We asked for two pilau rice, and he brought it all in one pot, and just served half-and-half on each our plates, and then dolloped our individual curries on top of our plates without asking as how we would like it served, or how much (suppose I wanted a doggie-bag??) The waiters were mimicking potential customers outside of the restaurant who couldn't make up their minds if they wanted to come in (doing this in front of their existing, sitting customers, they were shouting to people on the phone (presumably their other colleagues); one waiter did ask us if we liked our food, but he was looking at the table next to us when he asked the question (?!) and then just walked away from the table! To clinch the deal, he then served hot towels to the other table after the had finished their meal, but did not for us when we asked for the bill; the whole meal - 2 poppadoms, 1 chutney tray (which I'm sure he he had just brought over from another exiting customer's table), 2 pilau rice, 2 portions of bhaji, 1 mutton dhansak, 1 chicken rogan, 2 cokes - including the pre-included service-charge, came to just over £53. A rip-off, and an absolute disapointment, doesn't quite cover it. I'm actually a bit disapointed in myself at not up and leaving - you live, you learn.

Very surprised at some of the bad reviews here. I suspect a number of the people responsible for them went in there with an attitude problem. The food was excellent as was the service. I would definitely return.

While the food was eatable I question the service at this restaurant. The waiters where unattentive and unclear, up to the point I actually questioned the hygiene. I would not recommend this restaurant.

Went in before our theatre show for a ‘lite bite’ and ordered a drink, only to be told AFTER they had poured them that we MUST order 2 main courses.

Mediocre food, mediocre service. But what really annoyed me was the sneaky way we were led to order an extra starter, us thinking we ordered some extra chutney for the poppadoms but it appeared to be an extra course, and an expensive one at that!

Absolutely horrid place...RUDE & ARROGANT waiters, was forced to order minimum 1 main course as a "RULE". Cramped place and not so hygienic ambiance. Mosquitoes hovering on the heads...sharing the snap...

janvier 2019 ballade à convent garden, nous nous sommes arrêté diner au Grand Indian Restaurant, il n'est pas très grand et luxueux mais l'accueil était bien, le personnel aimable. Il y avait beaucoup de locaux c'est souvent bon signe. Nous étions un groupe de 8, nous avons mangé poulet tikki massala et le butter chicken, du pulao rice et des naans. Tout était délicieux et frais. nous y reviendrons lors d'un prochain voyage.

Para aquellos que no hablan hindi, ¡eso se traduce en AWFUL! ! ! Obtengo un mejor servicio de mi teléfono en medio de los Himalayas que del personal aquí. La comida era normal, pero el personal era extremadamente grosero. Éramos los dos únicos que quedábamos el sábado por la noche a las nueve y media, y el camarero no nos dejaba salir a fumar un cigarrillo antes de que llegara la comida. Los camareros hacían comentarios muy claros sobre mí y mi compañero y no dejaron de mirarnos mientras comíamos. Ni siquiera un indicio de una sonrisa. ¡No vayas aquí!

Pensé que era extraño encontrar un restaurante del West End vacío a las 5 de la tarde de un sábado. Pronto descubrió que los camareros no saben sonreír ni hacer que un huésped sea bienvenido. Obviamente no querían estar allí. Poco después de pedir una bebida y popadoms, descubrimos que los acompañamientos para popadoms eran muy básicos, sin cebollas y no especialmente frescos. Pregunté si podíamos obtener algunas cebollas que obviamente frustraban al camarero, ya que la expresión de su rostro era de completo desdén. Él proporcionó estos, pero ¿por qué no pudieron haber sido proporcionados en primer lugar? Entonces decidimos reducir nuestras pérdidas y pedimos cortésmente la factura. Esto luego reveló la verdadera naturaleza del camarero, que rápidamente nos arrebató nuestras bebidas y nos dijo "no servimos bebidas y solo hacemos poppadoms para que pueda irse ahora". I had lunch with a friend recently at The Grand Indian - my starter was Prawn Patia on Puree which was quite the best I've ever had - my main course was a non-Vegetarian Thali, which was absolutely excellent - the service was friendly and attentive - the overall experience was definitely 5 Star - if I had to make a criticism, it would be that the waiter brought the bill without our asking for it - I sent him away with a flea in his ear, and he won't be doing THAT again in a hurry!

Para empezar, pedimos un par de platos y al principio nos dimos cuenta de que el servicio era horrible, el camarero bengalí estaba bebiendo alcohol del bar que estaba frente a nosotros y, al mismo tiempo, responde a las preguntas.

Después de ir a este restaurante, ni siquiera habíamos terminado nuestro primer plato antes de que pusieran en la mesa el plato principal y pusieran el resto del entrante en la siguiente mesa.

I won't waste too much time. Food - mediocre my tawa lamb was burnt on one side. Service - disgraceful. Chutney pots were left on the table from previous diners - empty. Asked for new ones so they went round everyone elses tables spooning out the dip/chutney into our pots. Dragged black bags of food waste across the restaurant floor in full view of diners.

In the space of 40 minutes this establishment failed on so many levels it was almost impressive. The aggressively rude staff, the shabby decor and the disgusting toilets were in hindsight, obvious red flags but it was late and we were hungry and hey, how hard can serving a passable curry for 30 quid a head actually be?

Having arrived late from the US there were not many restaurants open late in the area. Even though they were closing they allowed my wife and I to grab a quick bite. We found the food to be tasty (especially the naan bread). To be fair, the service wasn't so warm but it was nice they accepted us coming so late as they were getting ready to close. Overall may not be the best place but if you are looking for a late night spot - I would recommend.

Very disappointed with this very below average Indian Restaurant. I agree with a review that I have now read since coming home I would not have chosen to eat at this restaurant had I read the reviews. We were looking to eat before going to the theatre and had no reason to think that eating there would be a mistake. The food was well below average and the side orders tasted very salty. As previous reviews advised, the tables are very close together. Once we finished our mains the bill was put on the table, no option of more drinks, deserts or coffees. We were in the process of paying and three ladies came in for a table and the waiter told them we would be moving very soon and made it very clear that he wanted us to go instantly and his attitude was very rude. He'd got his 12% service charge which was a joke really as service was rubbish. As 12% was put on the menu I assumed that we had to pay, I have since found out that we needn't have done so. Suffice to say I would not go back there to eat even if they paid me to!

We were shut out of the Indian restaurant we wanted so popped in here after a show. It was fairly busy so felt this a good sign, but not to be. The owner took up a very nice large table reading his newspaper while we were seated in a not so good table, that pretty much sums up the attitude here. The food was below average, a bit greasy and tasted all quite similar though we ordered 5 different things and were not asked how we liked our spice. What really set this place apart was the quite terrible attitude of the staff who clearly model their owner’s personality. This place should clearly be avoided, we dropped our guard due to hunger and paid with a bad experience.

There is a huge possibility that they skimmed my credit card.

En una rara noche con mi esposa en Londres Covent Garden, nos encontramos con este restaurante que fue un gran error, es tan estrecho que literalmente estás sentado con otros huéspedes. El primer plato era pobre, la pakora de verduras no mostraba signos de verdura y no tenía sabor. El sheek kebab era pequeño y seco. El arroz de verduras principal tenía verduras congeladas y sabía a arroz con microondas. El curry se parecía a una pobre cena pequeña, no a un plato fresco cocinado con pasión.

I am quite surprised by the bad reviews. I’m very picky about Indian food and was quite pleased. We went here for dinner at about 6-7pm and were the only ones there. Staff was friendly and the food was perfect. I had lamb vindaloo and my husband had Chicken Tikka Masala. We ordered veggie samosas and had beer. No aggressive or rude waitstaff. Had I read the reviews before going, we probably would have missed a fantastic mean.

Tried to have dinner on an early Saturday evening, but although the restaurant was half empty they would claim not to have a have a table for one. Probably gambling for bigger groups to show up ... As a frequent single Traveller I find this behavior offending and unacceptable. But here apparently greed reigns. But maybe I should be happy about having been spared the dining experience...is what looking at the other reviews about the place suggests.

The food was good granted, we went in at 22:30pm but it only closes at midnight. Just not a good service, man is very abrupt even before we finished he came to table at least 3 times then put receipt on table. When l paid he came back while my husband was finishing his drink and started to take table cloth off, felt very comfy wouldn’t go back !!!!!!

This was an old haunt for me 25 years + ago.

Tiny tables squashed in together. Staff near bar just chatting, no customer service. Veggie samosas had frozen veg and undercooked, mains weren’t much better. Save your money and go somewhere else. I wish we had read the reviews before we went, We love Indian food but unfortunately this was some of the worst we have ever tasted.

Been passed this restaurant several times on the way to Covent Garden. Decided to pop in on spec. The tables are a little closer than we would like but we were desperate for a good curry so accepted a small table for two in a row of pairs. Other couples were engaged in conversation at different stages of their meals when we took our place. As it was bust we thought we would be rushed, but were not. We ordered at ease and chose our mains, deciding only to have a few poppadoms each so as not to spoil our appetites. Glad we did because the chutneys and salad were generous and the mains a good size with Peshawari naan to go with them.

First they don't allow main dish to be shared. we had to order two main dishes for two people. food was average, less spicey and we liked it because taste was different than usual indian restaurants. Secondly, prices mentioned on menu cards are for side dishes ( for vegetarian dishes at least)if you order it as main dish then price will be double (which waiter will never clarify while taking order) this we came to know when we got the bill. Ambiance is dark and grim. Lastly the taste was not authentic Indian if that is what someone is specifically looking for.

This is the best authentic asian-indian food ever!! Been a few times now and is never disappointing ; the food is so tasty and the flavours are just wonderful ! Ambiance and hygiene are very good and the owner and it's staff are wonderful .

Naanbrødene kom i en potte med lokk. De ble jo klissete av å ligge sånn. Kelneren ble skuffet når vi bare skulle ha en ris og ikke to. De hadde ikke tørr hvitvin, svært merkelig.

Rude waiter kept trying to take the dishes away when one of the three of us was still eating and brought the ice cream pudding whilst she was still eating - semi defrosted by the time it was returned to the table.

Looking for a restaurant still serving after we had been to a show, only 4 other diners as it was about 11pm, we just had mains, 1 side dish, naan and rice, food was ok but have had much better, the waiters were all staring at us which was unnerving, asked for dry white wine but waiter said they only had medium, very expensive for what we had, and upon leaving the waiter leered at me and said I smelt good, which I thought was a bit pervy! Wouldn't recommend to anyone.

Un grupo de mis amigos y yo vinimos aquí después del trabajo. Los camareros eran increíblemente grosera sin razón aparente tan pronto como entramos por la puerta. Pregunté cortésmente si podía por favor tome distancia de seguridad para poner los restos de mi comida y el camarero se fue Meneando la cabeza en mí. Después de muchos otros encuentros grosero, mis amigos y yo estábamos muy ofendido y nunca se vienen aquí.

Mi novio y yo vine aquí a cenar y éramos los únicos clientes. Pedimos a un camarero muy estresados, que no era especialmente dedicados al servicio. Conseguimos nuestro principal campo incluso antes de terminado el primer plato y la comida sabía tan mal ninguno de nosotros pudo terminar. Lo peor sobre esta comida fue que uno de los camareros se miraban a mí todo el tiempo y hacían tanto mi novio y sentir muy incómoda. Sólo quería dejar.

Bad service, bad food, bad atmosphere, high prices. We were looking for an Indian restaurant around Covent Garden and found this “restaurant”. We will never ever go there again and can the same only recommend to other people. Terrible place.

Good Friday, think it had been raining for over 7 hours we where now soaked & in need of food, this had spaces, seated in the window table for 4, drinks & poms & pickles ordered, at this point one of our party did start to read the Trip reviews on her phone, I did wonder wether this could be our last supper? Happy to report we all enjoyed our currys & next morning while typing this I have no after effects, bill with drinks £100.

I really wanted a good Indian restaurant in Covent Garden. I found this place randomly and it seemed good. The waiters are not so polite but the food compensates. Chicken tikka is good.

Worst indian I’ve ever had the misfortune to visit. There was only one table filled in the whole place and when we requested a table for 4 so we could have a bit of space, we were told (with a huge amount of condescension) that it was a table for 4 and we were only 2 so we couldn’t sit there. We then requested to have the meal advertised on the A board outside the restaurant, only to be told that price was only available Monday to Friday so we could have it at a higher price seeing as it was a Saturday. Our food arrived and the bhuna was swimming in oil and the lamb was chewy. During our meal, a Muslim family came in and sat down but they were sat next to the door that lead downstairs to the toilets. They asked to move and rather than agree to it, the waiter then proceeded to have a full blown argument with the guy and the family left. The waiter then decided to go on a bit of a racist rant about Muslims and how rude they were. When we got our bill, to their credit, they didn’t charge us the extra price for the meal. In hindsight through this makes me wonder whether the first guy who told us that was thinking we were silly tourists who he could get as much money from as possible. We were relieved that that particular waiter left before our food arrived and another waiter took over from him be he then ended up being the waiter who had the argument. Add all of this to the fact that we were sat next to the door which didn’t close properly and it was below 5 degrees, and the fact that the 2nd waiter decided to stand just outside the door but with it resting on his back so it was kept even more ajar. We asked him to close it and he didn’t say a word to us but just flounced out of the door. Safe to say we will NEVER be returning to this god awful place!

We were looking forward to a nice relaxing meal, but the service staff were not that friendly or accommodating. We wanted a different table but they wouldn’t let us switch. Also, had the sense they wanted to up-sell - brought bottled water instead of tap and seemed to want us to order more food. Then tried to clear the table before we were done. The food was quite good, but based on the service, I wouldn’t go back or recommend.

Así de claro. Pasamos de casualidad por ahí y no nos arrepentimos. Porque la comida estaba bastante bien, especialmente en relación precio/calidad. Pero por otro lado, la atención fue realmente pésima. El personal tiene mala voluntad, malos modales, poca simpatía y poca paciencia. Pedimos varios platos para compartir entre 3, la mayoría platos de acompañamiento (side dishes) pero el mozo nos obligó a pedir más platos principales.

I was a bit put off when we arrived, as the waiter looked like he was in prison and we were his gaolers. The tables are crammed together so you end up knocking everything over. The vegetable Samosas were absolutely dreadful, avoid them! The garlic nan was only marginally better. The curries were a king prawn and a chicken jalfrezi, both of these were good. The waiter appeared to cheer up as we were leaving, maybe he'd just had an annoying customer before we arrived. The cost is higher, but that's probably due to being in the centre of London. I liked the 60s decor.

Qué desagradable lugar para ir. Los camareros parecen tener ni idea de lo que es el servicio o, de hecho, lo común son modales. El servicio era tan malo y tan grosera que nos fuimos.

Comimos aquí en Lunes 11 / 12 / 17 con mi hermana y sobrina. El camarero era hosco y poco acogedora. La comida estaba tibia, no había sido definitivamente recién cocinado. Me enviaron a mi cordero karahi atrás y pedí una versión debidamente preparado. Lo que he recibido de vuelta era, supongo que el mismo plato, sólo que habían sido mal calentar en un microondas. Los zumos (cargados con grasa) pero de nuevo, la crepitante carne no estaba más caliente. . . Y probado de plástico. . . Nunca hemos comido un. peor India en mi vida. Evitar a toda costa. . ! !

Doordat er nog maar 1 tafeltje beschikbaar was hadden we misschien iets te hoge verwachtingen. Niet op Tripadvisor gekeken....

Sullen staff, average food, no redeeming features. Was also offered more than 10% discount on the bill if paid cash rather than by credit card - seems dodgy to me!!

Quite disappointing visit. You'd think with London being full of Indian Restaurants competition would be fierce and standards would be high. Afraid not here. The food was ok, I've had worse but I've had much better too!

Asked for duck curry, got what looked like pork. I challenged them on this and they were quite aggressive about it. Whatever it was, it was not duck.

Been here a few times on visits to the capital. It never disappoints. I had a wonderful butter chicken, from the specials menu; creamy and tasty - my hubby had a jalfrezi (tangy and spicy) We shared a peshwari naan and had onion Bahjias the size of tennis balls! Great value and good placement for the theatres.

Kold mad, som ikke smagte godt og råt naan-brød. Tjenerne var heller ikke specielt venlige. Stor skuffelse!
