Came for my friend’s birthday. Amazing food but servers were quite rude. Seemed like we were hassling them asking for drinks etc. If they fix this, will definitely come back because the food was almost worth it.

I was desperate for a curry and I walked into the first restaurant I came across. I was the only customer. I sat down and saw a cockroach on the wall next to my table. I left without ordering anything much to the waiter's surprise.

For me this is place typifies the glut of just-about-average Indians in east London. We started with poppadums which were served with mediocre pickles/chutney. Only the lime chutney was of any interest. My starter of onion bhaji tasted like it had been refried, although the sabzi bora was better. Their vegetable side dishes are also served as mains. We had the aubergine "crash" which was the best part of the meal, along with tarka daal and okra which were fine, and sag paneer which was disappointing. However all the dishes were served by attentive staff who refilled our glasses with wine and made us feel looked after. The restaurant serves cheap brand name wine at eye watering prices: Blossom Hill for £15 is galling! The house white was just about drinkable. We went on a Thursday evening and the place was almost empty which meant there wasn't much of an atmosphere. I overheard one of the waiters telling another guest that they're busier at lunch with City workers. I can't comment on the meat dishes as I'm veggie. However, if you're in Aldgate, Kasturi is just 30 seconds walk up the road - its more expensive but it worth the extra dosh in terms of both food quality and wine selection.

Food great, good choice good service and good beer, but they did charge £25 for presseco which was very steep. Had a good night.

This restaurant is a tourist trap. The waiter/manager looks for ways to scam you - and will deliver a handwritten check that you can not decipher. He will increase the prices and then tell you servic
