Grafton Arms in Manchester

I’ve visited this pub in the past and staff have always been friendly well this evening I popped in for a quick drink with a friend When I went to order a drink the bar man just looked at me in the face until I told him what drink I’d like. No Hello…. Then when he was pouring my drink I think the pump ran out and he just went to change it without saying anything after 5 minutes I decided to leave the pub and head home but I was called back by a friend at the bar… I was told the price of my drink with no manners….you’ve either been bragged up or your a racist maybe both

Sophie runs the best open mic at this pub. Very welcome and inclusive atmosphere. Definitely recommend it, especially if you're a musician or enjoy watching live music.

Have been a few times and really enjoyed the new landlord is absolute legend and top bloke very well spoken and always here to help with any enquiries the Grafton arms top pub

Came here yesterday for 1 with family around 5pm and was served by the gentleman, I didn't get his name but he was kind and polite. It looked like it was just him on considering its a Saturday so I was pretty shocked about that. But nonetheless the service he provided was prompt and effective. Pool table available, plenty of TVs and areas to sit around the pub as well as outside. Nice little find

Modern pub, not very atmospheric. Sky Sports on the telly. The bar staff were friendly, some specialty beers on tap. The toilets are not very clean and the whole place has a musty smell. Didn't stay very long.

Nice atmosphere, cheap beer, friendly staff, beer garden and heated smoking area.

Brilliant pub with lovely staff. Whilst my missus was on hospital having had a baby on intensive care this pub was my sanctuary. I popped in most days for a quick glass of wine and a chat with the staff and it got me through a difficult time. Can’t rate this pub and their staff highly enough. Great prices too. Love this pub. Perfect place to wet a babies head. Great for footy too

Open mic night was okay however it was all majority older men, despite being one myself I do like to see a bit of diversity. I was privy to a conversation where a young woman asked to step up was told she couldn’t.. could have done with the variety folks!

A good old fashioned pub with reasonably priced good ale and a commitment to provide entertainment for its customers (live music and presumably comedy). If this is the sort of pub you like, switch off Netflix, put down that Deliveroo pizza and spend some time and money there - they are disappearing at an alarming rate.

Cheap beer , karaoke 4-7pm no heirs and graces, just a good old-fashioned pub.

Seems to be an independent ale called Crystal. Very gassy, but light and refreshing. Staff are great. City pub, so good for a pre-match pint.

It's one up on the rather tatty old Grafton I used to frequent at Uni.

Had an amazing time during a pre-drinks session before we attended a metal concert in the academy, really enjoyed the hospitality, good prices and available area outdoors. Staff were awesome and genuine :-) thanks for a great time!

They have banging open mic nights on Tuesdays. Prices aren't too bad and the regulars are mostly real friendly.

Top venue. Hosted a Slamming Brutal Death Metal gig last minute on halloween. The sound was absolutely top notch. Massive respect for the Grafton Arms

If you’re looking for community, this is the place. Punters old and young alike, Sarah the landlady has created such an inclusive atmosphere at the Grafton, you can only feel welcome. Not only that but it’s a great venue for live music, sport and there’s a great quiz every Wednesday, not your usual quiz night, gets everyone in and is a real laugh! Can’t recommend this place, Sarah and her team enough! Oh and there’s pizza (other food too but pizza)

10/10 would recommend. Great atmosphere, cheap prices and friendly staff. Quiz on a Wednesday is always a fun time, also a really good place to watch sports. Good selection of food and drinks

Most welcoming pub in Manchester, the landlady Sarah has created a top environment for all. Best pub quiz I’ve been to on Wednesday and live music throughout the week, great atmosphere for live sport. No better place to watch the women’s world cup this summer!!

Old school pub with funny characters

Just popped in as remember the old place after 36 years on the Uni Campus 1980-2016.

Popped in for quick pint on way home. Lovely staff and friendly customers.

Love Holts ale. Competitively priced. Food is good for the price. Great place to watch sports, multiple screens.

Quick liquid stop after visiting MRI- trailblazer stout nice and cold- shame there was about 6 TV's on sport and all running with a lag on the sound....Echo,...Echo...echo!!! 😆

If you're looking for a proper pub in Manchester here's the place. With reasonable prices, friendly staff and locals, a decent pool table and a good quiz night every Wednesday - what's not to like!

Didn't have my whiskey No famous grouse or bells very expensive I just walked out.

Walked in and noticed they had rubbish beer and walked back out.

Was there to see the Freshies. The staff were friendly and quick to serve...I just don't like the beers or cider on offer. One punter was a bit of an arse and should probably have been shown outside but he may just have been a v drunk regular

Lovely staff, especially Michelle. Reasonably priced drinks. Good karaoke on a Thursday afternoon. Friendly and relaxed atmosphere. Pool table in reasonable condition too. And horse racing on the telly for the boys. Definitely recommended. Lost one star for limited food options & no New Zealand Sauvignon blanc (my fave wine), but the spiced rum & diet coke I had instead was yummy. Thanks ❤️

Popped in for a drink, nice staff made me a cuppa as the coffee machine was out of service.

Not in there long and only coke these days but passed 45mins chatting and a dj on dport on tv and a really nice ( friendly) girl behind the bar Saturday 18th.

Fourteen minutes walk from the o2 Apollo Manchester. Good atmosphere I think it serves food at certain times.

Nice pub in a good location Enjoyed the live music and good selection of ales and beers And parking at the hospital car park literally at the back of the pub.

Cheap as chips, great music, lovely seating and a pool table. Tres bien!

The pub and price is ok but the toilets are horrible blocked toilets and not very clean they should be checked more regular 😱

Lovely open mic night on a Tuesday

This is by far one of the best pubs I’ve ever been to! I had the most amazing evening, immaculate vibes!

Amazing food welcoming and friendly land lady and bar staff have different events and live music happening great prices for beers in and around town would highly recommend popping in

Amazing staff. Went out if there way to get me a coffee for my dad who was in the hospital next door. Thank you mum and daughter who helped me.

Very quite during day but warm and pleasant staff although crystal lager was terrible on the day ! Could not finish 2nd pint !

Went to a gig night here Friday. It was a great night with fab atmosphere and great beers on tap. Later on I managed to lose a bag with some valuable items in there and Sara and the team were really helpful and enabled the Uber driver to return the bag to them the following week so I could collect it safely from them. Can't ask for more. Really helpful, honest staff and a good solid traditional Manchester Pub. Thanks again

Amazing, beautiful and well run pub. The landlady is terrific called Sarah and she always has a smile on her face when you walk in whether she's on the bar or sat with regulars or new customers chatting and making everybody feel welcome. The food is brilliant and on a Monday you can get buy one get one free which is a really good deal. Kids are very welcome and it's a very family atmosphere whenever we have been in. The cleanliness of the pub is impressive too and there is even a stage where local gigs are planning to be held in the near future post covid.

Cheap pub grub (compliment!) and discount for NHS staff. Great for all those at MRI. Mix of clientele so anyone's welcome. Friendly landlady and bar staff, felt Covid safe with staff constantly monitoring. Will definitely return and the Manchester art work is perfect 👌

The Grafton Arms is a totally unique experience with everything required for a great night out - its brimming full of atmosphere, where the food and drink are top class, and the personalities and entertainment are second to none !!!

The Grafton Arms is a great place to socialise, it has a really chilled atmosphere and the staff are warm and welcoming. An added bonus is the food which is great traditional pub grub and the portions are very generous. Give it a try you won't be disappointed!

This place is great! Excellent choice of good quality beers, fantastic atmosphere and exceptional staff who go out of their way to ensure you are ok. On our last visit we decided to order some food which is also outstanding. We had fish and chips which was very tasty and great value! Cannot recommend enough. The place to be!

Eat here for the first time recently, was really impressed! Great choice of classic pub dishes and at really reasonable prices, not small either so left full and content. Will definitely eat here again!

So glad that I could visit this place again, after eating here a couple of times before lockdown. Gorgeous food and a super selection for vegetarians. Really helpful staff and great service. The new wall pictures of famous Mancunians are brill! Will definitely be visiting again soon.

Great traditional pub, Nice vibe, chilled venue, great selection of booze. The food is great as well, big portions, great value for money. The new managers Sarah and Lawrence are awesome and so are the staff. Customer service at it's best. Highly recommend the Grafton Arms.

GREAT PUB! Friendly staff, great prices and all around fantastic atmosphere. The painted mural in the main room celebrating cultural icons of Manchester is a great touch!! A great way to celebrate Manchester - by having a pint here.

Conveniently located due to some hotels in area not having their bars open at the moment. Friendly pub with character, sort of 70s style look. Lots of room, happy hours, cheap beer and lots of TV screens. Open all day.

Don't get to Manchester very often, after a great gig with Exodus at the Academy what better than a couple of drinks at the Grafton to end the night. If you get the chance try the pie and mash, best in the area, cheers.

Nice pub at the side of MRI well worth a visit good prices Holt ale available on cask two separate areas a room to the left and what i"d consider a vault to the right well worth popping in if at the infirmary for any reason

Hands down best pub I've been to in Manchester. nice and quiet atmosphere, got a bar area with darts and a pool table. Then a lounge for a quieter time with various sports playing on different screens. Staff are very friendly so long as you aren't rude. Overall fantastic pub.

Didn't go in. I was driving my daughter to M.R.I.and parked on Grafton Street.

Run by lovely people, feel very welcome and will certainly return. Excellent prices.
