Came for breakfast and ordered scrambled eggs. Came to £8 which seems excessive for what was delivered. Normally that would be with salmon or perhaps full English

We’ve been regular visitors to Wildflower Café, and the food is consistently good. The staff are always friendly, and the service is excellent. However, since the recent kitchen renovation and subsequent price increases, we find ourselves visiting less often. That said, we still enjoy it every time we come.

This was a good environment and not too busy when we first arrived for our lunch… Staff were busy and were serving well but not very friendly or engaging with their customers! The main issue I had was with one of the young waiters as she brought our food to the table I noticed the jacket potato had a burn skin and mentioned it to her, she replied I don’t think so! At the end of our meal she came to clear our table and I pointed out to her the burnt skin all around the edges that I had left ( which I would normally eat but couldn’t) . She didn’t apologise or say anything to satisfy my complaint… So a very poor response to my complaint!

Usually this cafe is good, today it wasn’t! Have they changed owners/chef because food and service was rough! My partner ordered sour bread open sandwich, chicken tikka with some inedible stuff on it! £9.95 for one slice of bread! Come on. My jacket potato was Luke warm, the tuna had lumps in it where it hadn’t been mixed properly. The napkin only had a fork in it, no knife! Oh yes the waitress said we haven’t had time to put knives in 🙄 Very, very disappointing

The Wildflower Garden Centre is a wonderful garden centre. It is situated just beyond Killay in the Blackhills, Gower, not far from Swansea airport. They have an excellent and well stocked range of trees, shrubs and flowering plants as well as a massive range of pots and other gardening accessories. In the grounds is a spacious, modern cafeteria with a delightful decked area outside. The cafe serves breakfasts, salads, sandwiches, panini and includes veggie options and a children’s menu. Also, there are beautiful lodges which can be rented as holiday accommodation.

I have visited here many times and the food is delicious. Jacket with tuna is really lovely. Scone jam and cream was amazing and could of fed two!!! All cakes are good as is tea cake, paninis and coffee too. The cooked breakfast looked really good but not tried that yet. Make sure you go especially in the summer as sitting outside is delightful. ( one tiny thing: it was getting a little too much with the cooking , my eyes were stinging s little. I think you just need a stronger extractor fan ) Love it here …….,,,

Our first visit today and we were not disappointed. From previous photos it looks like it’s been refurbed and to a very high standard. The inside is lovely, so clean and fresh looking and very spacious. The food was lovely and served to us very quickly. The price I would say is about average for a cafe but the quality was very high. The weather wasn’t great when we visited today but looking forward to visiting again when the sun is out as there are plenty of outdoor seating, a small play area and a lovely little garden centre attached. The staff were also very friendly. We will definitely be returning again soon.

This was our first visit since the latest change of ownership. The cafe has undergone a stylish makeover (we even asked where they'd got their furniture from!). We each had a cappuccino and a bacon and egg roll and both were exemplary. It's not the cheapest cafe but we thoroughly enjoyed our visit. With the garden centre and the holiday lodges this looks to be a happening little corner of Gower.. N.B. Dogs aren't permitted inside the cafe though there are plans to expand the outdoor seating area.

Unfortunately the Wildflower has gone downhill recently, we have visited a number of times in the past and decided to pay a visit today. We found there wasn't as much choice on the menu as on previous visits however opted for the 'Gower Beef Cheeseburger' x2 and a sausage baguette. The burgers arrived ..,small burgers and large rolls and can only be described as what you'd expect from a burger van, the sausage baguette did not arrive. When I asked how long it was going to be it transpired it had been forgotten, I was advised it was a mistake and a refund was offered, as an alternative to providing the meal. Not an option for us as I could not have eaten with my daughter not having anything, which should have been clear to the staff. The baguette arrived 10 minutes later without an apology...my daughter had just taken her last bite when the plates were promptly cleared! I understand that errors can happen, however when they do it is important to offer a genuine apology rather than simply state it was a mistake. I think the Wildflower staff and management would benefit from a customer services course or two! We certainly won't be returning!

I had the club sandwich - the only thing I've had using GF bread that was delicious - generous filling with a salad and coleslaw accompaniment . My daughters had the burgers, one vegetarian, and we're very pleased with their meals. We ordered a child's pasta and it was big enough for two! Their bowls were cleared! The only reason I haven't given the place 5 stars is the unhurried service! It was slow but the food was worth the wait. As always, pop along and judge for yourself. I'll certainly be returning. We arrived at 1320 for lunch, and were served our food 50 minutes later. We had asked for soup and a sweet potato and chick pea curry - both of which I would assume would have been made well in advance and only needed heating up? The "sweet potato and chick pea curry consisted of one small square of sweet potato and the rest was chickpeas, albeit in a very nice tasting sauce. Nobody came over to ask how our food was! I saw lots of people waiting - it was busy there but they seemed to have lots of staff on but the service was appalling. If I go anywhere and have to wait more than half an hour for food, I at least expect to be offered a courtesy drink and an apology. Shame because I really like the venue, but a 50 minute wait for very average food is not acceptable.

Took my youngest daughter and elderly father for a coffee and cake during Halfterm. The place seemed slightly different from my previous visit and I was told it had just been acquired by a new owner. Pretty vintage style crockery and table accessories and it was very sunny with a lovely outlook over the gardens with the fluffy hens clucking around the doorway. There is now table service but this did take a very long time despite there not being very many in the cafe. We ordered two lattes, a hot chocolate with cream and marshmallows, a brownie, toasted tea cake and a slice of coffee cake. After ordering it took an age for our drinks and cakes to arrive. I was almost giving up hope! I don't understand why it took so long as it was only drinks and toasting a tea cake! The drinks were fine although I think the hot chocolate could have been larger for the price. The toasted tea cake was average, my daughter said the brownie was very rich and couldn't finish it which is unprecedented for her as she can usually eat lots of very sweet things with no problem! My coffee cake was lovely, soft, moist and tasting of coffee. The bill was £17 which I thought was rather expensive for what we had. Nearly £6 each for quite a small hot drink and cake. Originally the till showed £43 though which was clearly a mistake! However the experience was quite good overall as the setting was lovely and my father enjoyed his trip out. He is 89 so enjoys a change of scene. Please make the service quicker though!

Called there today after a long stroll with friends. The setting is so peaceful , tucked down Blackhills lane. There is a large board with daily options but the huge homemade cakes were tremendous. I enjoyed a very tall Victoria sponge, bursting with jam and fresh cream along with a great latte. Friends also enjoyed the cherry cake and toasted tea cakes. The children corner had smaller chairs, toys and games, it was "help yourself to drinking water" and as the sun was shining there were quite a few customers sitting outside in the late Autumn sunshine. A trio of large fluffy chickens were wandering around to the delight of some toddlers. The service was prompt and friendly, and the lunches also looked delicious. The décor was country shabby chic and the whole place was enchanting. They have a vast selection of plants for sale and can give advice on these.Although tucked away down the lane, it is only minutes from one of the main routes into Gower, near the airport at Fairwood.Fabulous

Very disappointed with our recent visit here for a breakfast. Staff were very rude. Had to wait for 2 waitresses to finish their conversation before I was even acknowledged. Unfortunately, I do not care how many pairs of contact lenses she was packing to take on holiday. Then when finally served, the waitress didn't make any conversation, when asked if they brought the orange juice to the table with the pot of tea, she just pointed to the fridge. How charming! Food was nice, but after receiving that level of service you tend to forget about the food. Really wouldn't bother with this place!

So happy to say that another new chef was appointed last autumn and it's back to being a lovely place to go for a well cooked, reasonably priced hearty meal. All served in a friendly relaxed atmosphere and beautiful tranquil surroundings. I can highly recommend the homemade burger with sweet potato fries, one of the best i've had. I would highly recommend going for lunch/breakfast here. The veggie breakfast is stunning! They also do lovely home made fresh soups which are packed with flavour. Very child friendly with space for kids to play along with yummy fresh options for their lunches. The staff are relaxed and friendly and the chef really cares about what he is doing and that you enjoy your meal....will be going again soon!

Came here for the first time, on my daughter's recommendation, with family. We all enjoyed our food and visit. It is very child friendly and the staff helpful. Lots to look at outside in the garden centre. Will return another day.

I've eaten here many times over the past 18 months and have never been disappointed. I pay more than I usually would but it's well worth it. I will continue to enjoy and recommend to others!

I came here last week for the first time on the recommendation of our daughter. We had family visiting from Eastbourne and we came for a light lunch. We all enjoyed the food very much - it was very tasty and the people serving were friendly and helpful. It is also child friendly with a corner with toys to keep them occupied. Must visit again.

Hidden away somewhere by Swansea airport (no idea how I got here) is this hidden gem! From the chalkboard menu, I chose Cy's club sarnie, while my brother went for the full English. Service was friendly and as we waited we were enjoying the surrounding gardens - where I spotted the cutest chickens wandering around! I believe the chef sources everything locally ... which is brilliant! Our food came out fresh, our plates were full - I could not wait to tuck in! Both our meals did not disappoint - superb cooking by Cynan, the chef, he really does put love into these dishes! On offer as well was freshly made cakes which I so wish I had room for! This is a hidden gem that I highly recommend you find!

We've been here a few times now, at different times of year, and have never been disappointed. Today, we went for a family breakfast (5 of us). Four had 'full English' (or Welsh) and one had a bacon butty - all excellent. Some of us had tea (served in vintage china, with individual teapots and milk jugs), others coffee (excellent!) or milkshakes. All food is cooked from fresh, but we didn't have an unduly long wait. Staff are very friendly and efficient. The building is a modern wooden and glass structure, so very light and airy. Big scrubbed tables and a lovely view of the chickens scratching about in the garden area. In better weather, you can sit outside and it's just heavenly. There are also plant sales, with a small nursery by the entrance - I've bought in the past and been pleased. And inside the café is a small shop area, with Welsh blankets (very reasonably priced compared with other shops), bird houses and feeders, shopping bags, umbrellas (you need one in west Wales), crockery, toys, etc. Although we went for breakfast this time, there is a very good lunch menu. This café prides itself on using local produce and offers a very good selection of meals, including veggie options. Highly recommended.

My grandmother lives very close to the café so it's a frequent haunt for us, usually just for coffee and cake with friends and scrambled eggs for my baby cousin. The food is nothing particularly exciting but is always fresh and locally sourced, and the location brings us back every time. The service is pleasant, exactly what you would expect of a café. Perfectly suitable for kids with a corner of toys and books.Only major grumble with the place is its online presence. Considering the café is closed sporadically during the winter, it would be very helpful to have some kind of schedule on the website - which is nothing more than a blank webpage with advertising. It's a let down, because we've chosen simply not to try to go on any given day since it's uncertain whether it'll be open. It's the 21st century, Wildflower!

Thank heavens for such a tranquil spot: GWC is a charming cafe offering excellent home cooked food and cakes. The soups, a favourite of mine on cold grey days, change regularly and I've delighted in the flavours: spicy parsnip, creamy leek and potato or traditional Cawl, all are delicious. The emphasis is on locally produced ingredients freshly prepared. ** Arrive early for lunch as often it is full by 12.30 **The free Wifi is a bonus for people who have to stay connected to the web for work reasons.I am never disappointed with the Menu and I consider myself to be a difficult customer to please because I need a gluten and dairy free meal. Highly recommended for parents with young children, it accommodates young palates, and offers healthy eating NOT fast food crap. There's also a small play corner which is easy for parents to supervise while eating a meal.All-in-all Gower is definitely richer for having GWC and I believe they will also take larger group events if plenty of notice is given in advance of the booking.

My partner and I were looking for a nature reserve today which we could not find. It would have helped if I had brought the directions with me. Fed up, we decided to visit the Gower Wildflower Café for a cuppa before we headed back home. Although I have always lived in Swansea I have never gone down the lane where the café is. We were really surprised. The car park was full and the café is a lovely looking eco-type building with loads of tables and chairs outside. It was really busy and the car park was full. We only ordered a tea and coffee. The tea was served in a mini vintage style teapot and came with a china cup and saucer. There is a little gift shop and outside a small plant nursery. Luckily the booklet with the article on the nature reserve was on display and having found the directions we went on our way to Gelli Hir Wood. Promising ourselves to pop back, maybe in the spring when the nursery is blooming.

The place looked tired and sad. the food was savoury food was tasty and well presented. Staff seemed lost and not in charge, good plants outside, but the rest looked neglected, place could do with a bit of TLC.

We always used to come to the wildflower cafe, nice and quiet, perfect for the kids to play without feeling other diners were getting annoyed by the presence of children enjoying their surroundings! Theres a little toy corner and chickens wandering outside. Bird tables enticing the wildlife with bird watching posters adorning the walls. It's a great place to come for a informal cuppa and cake or a light lunch. There is a small gift shop inside and they also sell plants outside. Do not expect a full on garden centre, as that it's not, but it's a little gem of a cafe where you would least expect it.Its off the beaten track so not as hectic as other local cafes, although the new signage seems to be working and has been busy throughout the summer months and have had to share a table on occasion. We did have a small hiccup a few months back when the trusty chefs and waiting staff, who were friendly and helpful, left and a temporary cook was appointed. We overheard a conversation between staff relating to health issues ( a conversation which shouldn't have been had in front of the customers); which put us off that particular chef, but all is right with the world again as the staff seem to be back to normal! A great menu, offering light bites, specials and a great kids menu.

Always try to come here when I'm visiting Swansea and the breakfast fry-up is fantastic. I understand people expecting more on the flower front given the title but it's really just a cafe with a few flowers. Personally I love the food and eclectic charm of chairs and tables that don't match but clearly not to the tastes of some reviewers. The breakfast takes a while to prepare - it's all fresh - but I've always found the staff pleasant.

The whole place looks as if it could do with refurbishing. Nursery area overgrown with weeds. The staff at the cafe were not helpful at all, everything seemed like to much trouble for them. Not a place I will be visiting again.

Very dissapointing. It was very tired looking and nothing to see. Some of the outside sinage was so faded you couldn't read it. We were looking forward to walking round the wild flower gardens, but there weren't any so we had a coffee and left.

i had the welsh beef burger with sweet potato fries, my Mum had the lemon chicken club sandwich and my Dad the pulled pork burger. All 3 meals were served promptly, lovely presentation, huge portions and more importantly were delicious. I simply couldn't fault the experience. We'll be returning as soon as possible.

A lovely place to stop for afternoon tea, the cakes are amazing. The small garden centre makes a perfect setting for sitting outside watching the birds on the feeder. My only concern is that I am always tempted to come away with yet another plant for the garden when I visit.

Went here with my daughter and grandson (actually on Fathers' Day), and arrived just before 2.00 pm - not too crowded by then, and still almost everything on menu available. Plenty of places to sit, outside in the sun or shade, or indoors. Good, fast service with a smile and sensible prices. My feta and spinach quiche was delicious, with a well baked crust - no soggy bottom! And we all had sweet potato chips - lovely. Beautiful meadow to walk around afterwards, and flowers/herbs/shrubs to buy as well as a small gift shop. Lovely afternoon.

Visited here today. Beautiful weather (which usually helps), a lovely setting with lots of flowers around, including many you can purchase for the garden. The food was tasty and nicely prepared and presented. The chickens kept our grandson entertained for a while. Well worth a visit for lunch.

Midweek family lunch. Phone call made prior to visiting to ensure food was available as last time we visited no food available due to fryers not working. On entering this establishment we noticed a cat inside premises drinking milk from a cup on the floor in the restaurant. The whole place had an unpleasant stale aroma and very cold dark and dingy. The tables sticky and menus the same. Service limited and unfriendly. Large notices advising no vegan food available. We eventually made our choices and ordered at the bar. Food arrived promptly on warm plates. Portions quite small but food was reasonable. Overall a ok ish visit but this place is in desperate need of a good deep clean and would benefit from re decorating. Would we re visit or recommend, probably not.

Beautiful Sunday lunch (ingeniously served until 4 for late risers….) Absolutely faultless dinner, delicious and plenty of it.
