Ordered large dish got small dish asked and argued with women who in end said ok we will swap wonder what she gonna do with small dish!! Hung up would never order from here again

My order was wrong didn’t get my rice with my curry they gave me mushrooms in my curry i didn’t want mushrooms they didn’t listen to me never order from there again

A typical Chinese takeaway. Chicken Balls were nice, big tasty and not too greasy. The curry sauce and the pork chow mein was tasty. But the chips weren’t great, a bit soggy and the crispy chilli beef was just crispy, not much chilli or beef. Plus it was 20 mins late and luke warm. No free prawn crackers either. Probably wouldn’t order again.

They have rats in their kitchen

It was the first Chinese takeaway that we have had and enjoyed in ages. Egg fried rice that was white, flecked with yellow and green. The Chicken and Cashew nuts had a faint taste of yellow bean paste. The Sweet and Sour Fish was a revalation. I have had a variety sweetish Fish dishes, this was the first one that reminded me of how good meat deep fried in batter with a sticky organe coloured sauce could be. Going to try their sweet and sour pork balls next time.

Do NOT order online. You literally pay more than 25% more to a third party (and without the option of delivery) than if you pop in and order it in person. But pop in you should. Good food

King prawn pancake rolls was so squashed could not even seperate them, not happy

Food was very poor quality, the prawn toast tasted off so had to throw that away. The ribs were in the satay sauce which was not preferable. Certainly not ordering from there again.

This is still my 'goto place' locally. The online portal has full allergen information so you can make informed selections. Always friendly and welcoming AND unlike many they have a card machine too. Photos of curremt menu (Dec2023)

Crispy Pork Belly in Yellow Bean Sauce 10/10

My Singapore noodles was really tasty, very generous with chicken etc in it. The shredded beef was lovely and crispy with just the right amount of sweet n sour - thoroughly enjoyed.

Food was tasty but not warm. And no free prawn crackers when we ordered a fair amount. Disappointing

The food was nice but you do not provide enough sweet and sour sauce with the balls. It was far too little to cover all chicken balls.

Food was fresh and delivery was quick

I just spent £30 on poor quality food, and got conned. The Singapore noodles were supplied dry, like a super noodles packet. I called and they said to hydrate them using the sauce. There isn’t enough sauce to fully rehydrate and cook them and there are hardly any noodles once you soak them, not enough for one portion, it’s a con. I ordered Hong Kong style king prawn balls but I got a luminous red sea of soggy battered king prawns.

I really didn’t like this restaurant

So I walked in and asked for something quick to order and was directed to choose no. 29 mixed meats and rice for £6.80 and when I presented Apple Pay I was charged £7.60 by an old woman who when I alerted her to the charge tried to fake an apology and offer to refund the difference. SHE WAS CLEARLY TRYING TO ROB ME.

Food was excellent, hot and packed containers

The Thai curry was nothing like Thai food. It was a very basic poor quality Chinese stir fry but not even as tasty as proper Chinese food. The Thai rice was actually disgusting. Over cooked mushy rice with Chinese pork and some shrimp but also coconut. Very disappointed.

chicken fried rice had no flavour, just like boiled rice with a stock cube could have made tastier myself ordered all dishes with no vegetables and they came crammed with onions and peppers which i am allergic to no point in leaving note for the chef absolutely useless ate 25% and put the rest in the bin

Chicken satay tastes off..... very weird taste

Absolutely 5 star service and food. Gourmet are my local resturant and I use them quite a lot. The food all very tasty and thanks to Just Eat delivered piping hot 👍 So what you waiting for place you're order now

We have always ordered from here and the food is nice but with this order we found it to be very expensive and not a great deal of food for the money.

Ordered a take away through deliveroo and 2 of the main items were missing. Called them and argued with me that they send it and that its not their problem. "complain to deliveroo" and put the phone down. Very dissapointed!! Would have expect an apology at least....

Hands down the best Chinese in a 5mile radius! Freshest of foods with the speediest deliveries it just doesn’t get any better then that! Food is always hot when it arrives and the staff in store are friendly and accommodating for any dietary requests.

Lovely crispy beef and juicy fried rice will definitely order again

The food didn't have much flavour and was slimey in texture I won't be ordering from there again.

I ordered Pad Thai and received a large portion of sweet flavoured slop consisting of over cooked noodles, swimming in sweet and sour sauce and topped with a few pieces of dry boiled chicken. Deeply disappointing and only fit for the bin

Cannot believe this place is rated 3.9 on google!! This takeaway deserves 5 stars. My husband and I have tried this place twice now and we have been pleasantly surprised with the quality and taste of the food. The food has been delivered very quickly and at the perfect temperature on both occasions. To conclude I would say they have restaurant quality food at takeaway prices. Highly recommended!!

Everything was nice and hot. We were pleased with that . Most dishes tasted good. Thank you for following our instructions about the peas . Although the sauce with the lamb was very tasty the lamb was chewy and fatty . We will order the other dishes from you again tho.

I ordered simple food and it was good ....so i will test them next time, the delivery however was not on par. If i hadn't hear her tap my door with her knuckles i would not have know my food was left on the floor outside. Received "my food is on the way" 15 minutes later so i would have recieved cold food if i was relaying on the app. Food was nice thoug, i might recommend next time when i need to be more specific

I come to this special place from time to time because I love the special air that is outline this restaurant. The personel is awfuly welcoming and well trained. The service is extraordinarily rapid. Most important, the food you get is magnificent. I have been there often and I was always delighted. The pay is reasobable. I suggest this place to my friends and family.

Ordered via Just Eat, they ran out of crispy pork but called to offer me duck instead which I accepted. However the food arrived (very quickly) and was cold, bland and tasteless. Mixed seafood with ginger and spring onion was full of mussels but little squid or prawns; King Prawn fried rice was the blandness I have ever tasted; salt and pepper wings were dry and over cooked; my mum enjoyed the peking ribs and duck (hence the 2 stars). I would not order from here again!

My food was VERY LATE from the time I placed the ordered to the time it was delivered was 2 hours 15 minutes which I think is unacceptable, I will not order via Just-eat again I was so disappointed. The food was excellent.

Fried rice dishes are delicious and their Wu xhang pork is a favourite. Gourmet Kitchen is one of our Top 2 best Chinese take away in Croydon.

Ordered special fried rice and chow mein arrived rice was almost cold and tasteless chow mein same.

Nothing special ... Thai food has wonderful flavours but our meal was pretty bland wouldn’t order from here again very disappointed and waste of £41

last night was the first time we visited this magnificent restaurant. But It is absolutely not the last. We enjoyed the evening a lot with the courteous service, with the superb cooking and fine drinks and with the friendly price. We will no doubt return there again.

Delivery was delayed by around 30 minutes, but on a Friday night during lockdown that's understandable. Food was great, but one of the dishes was different than last time - the crispy pork with cashew nuts was something else.

Unfortunately not great, despite the previous reviews, egg fried rice, over cooked and no flavour, crispy chicken noodles, pricey and small portion, lacking in flavour too. Sweet and sour chicken on the sweet side, but the chicken was nice, Singapore noodles was ok, not the best, not much meat in it, satay chicken ok, sauce very sugary. Not our usual Chinese, only tried after the other reviews, pricey for a Chinese takeaway.

Generous portions of really fresh ingredients. Great amount of mushrooms in the mushroom Chow Mein - not always true of other Chinese takeaways in the area! Highly recommend.

Big portion size very good tasting. I bought the sweet and sour chicken with noodles. The tast of it was sweet enough for me! in the past in other restaurants, I struggle to find sweet and sour chicken that was not too sour. This one is perfect for me. I also had the fried chilli calamari it's big portion and wonderful flavour with spring onion, pepper love taste 10/10.

Not only was my delivery late, the driver left it by the door to my flat and walked away without ringing the doorbell. Only because I was tracking the order and I saw him walking away i wend downstairs and saw my food on the floor outside.

Definitely a spot worth visiting, the food is excellent and fresh, the prices are fair and it is consistently clean in here. Keep it up.

Food was oily and rice was bland.kind of disappointed.

Food was horrible . After 2 mouthfuls threw it away . The pad thai was just covered with chili sauce was so hot couldn't eat not and the mix seafood with ginger was so bland and only 3 king prawns and a few tiny mussels and couple of pirates of octopus rest was just sliced onions in a bland gravy .total waste of £20 . Go else where

Food missing, disappointed with a lot of the food we received. The main meal was tasteless. Overpriced. Even worse this is a Just Eat recommendation. I think they were paid to put up this recommendation. Awful food, not exactly great customer care, stay well clear!

The food was tasty but we didnt recieve a number of items or they fully spilt in the bag and were unusable. Unfortunately after 5 days of arguing this we didnt even recieve a refund for the missing items. It has put me off using them and uber eats again!

Have been going to this take away for over 15 years and the food is always fresh. Good portions and reasonable prices. The owner is a lovely lady that is friendly and sweet to deal with. Highly recommended

I very rarely write reviews, but this take away was up there with the worst I ever had. Unfortunately the soup was something very distant from a Tom Yam, had a very thick consistency with not a pleasant flavour, beef was chewy, and the overall quality of the food was very mediocre. Also would be good if someone would explain to the drivers what a contactless delivery means in today’s circumstances.

Very tasty Singapore chowmein and curry with right .level of spice. First time I've ordered from.here and would say it's one of the better Chinese in the area.

Took over an hour for my order but wasn't warned about the wait before I ordered. Staff were friendly though.

We tried another few places just to see what was around but we have come back to Gourmet Kitchen. Still lovely food although the price has gone up somewhat! Probably still ok for a treat.

Beautiful food! The honey pork is so nice, lovely and tasty would deffo order again from here I will now be a regular :-)

We are Gourmet kitchen regulars and normally order once a month. Are normal order is 10x sweet and sour chicken balls with egg fried rice without veg, sweet and sour pork Hong Kong style with Thai fried rice. The last two times we've order the order has been wrong and we've had to wait close to 1.5hours for it to delivered. The first time it was wrong, they asked us to bring the wrong dish back and swap for a right one. No offer of a discount or anything off our next order. The second time, two dish's were wrong and they said it would be another 45+minutes wait for a replacement. Again, no offer of a discount on our next order or any good will gesture. After 7 years of it being our Chinese of choice, the lack of customer service and recent price increase means we are now questioning if it's worth it.

One of the best Chinese take aways in the Croydon area. Trust me. I have rated lots on google. This is a gem.

Ok....we have had loads of takeaways from gourmet kitchen and the food is al ways fabulous. We are in the middle of eating our latest takeaway now. Bit disappointed about the free starters. We spent £35 and usually get lovely selection of starters but today only spring rolls which were lovely.....but.....thought we should have had the lovely sesame seed toastier as well. Finished our dinner now Pork balls were fab...enormous...sweet and sour sauce perfect. We tried crispy noodles but probably left them a bit long as they were a bit stuck together. Mixed seafood was lovely. Sauce fab. Almost forgot....the crispy duck was fantastic as usual. My son had the satay chicken and he said it was gorgeous...and he is very very fussy

Phoned for a delivery and was told an hour and a half !! Food didn't turn up after an hour and fifty minutes.When I phoned I was told that that the order was not ready and would be at least another 20 minutes Cancelled order would not recommend their delivery service !!!!!!!
