Gourmet Burger Kitchen in Kensington and Chelsea

It's telling when two tables are independently talking about better burger places to go to while eating. To pay in advance for service when ordering on a tablet and then not interact with servers AT ALL is crazy. What's the excuse here? They aren't going above and beyond so the only reason is bumping their salaries which is the restaurant's responsibility. I'd think it was a one off but the manager and maybe a senior were there the whole time, totally worth the surcharge. Food was greasy and ordinary quality and for the same price as much better places. It's got great reviews but it's a legacy joint in a high tourist area - I beg you please just try the other joint next door (the busy one) unless you have low expectations. I left having felt ripped off and that's not a good aftertaste.

I had problems ordering GBK through deliveroo, when I called I was assisted by Shay who kindly gave us some clarity of where our order was. He was very professional and dealt with the situation as best as possible which made it worth the wait in the end. Thank you Shay

Very disappointed with our lunch at this GBK. We knew him well but, alas, everything has changed: - the menu first: exit the delicious sweet potato fries, the blue cheese burger and the good sauces - the friendly service: we had to deal with an unpleasant waitress, had to place our order on a tablet even though we were alone in the restaurant and the waitress was sitting on a bench(?). - the quality and presentation: uninteresting matchstick fries with a kind of bacon crumb on them, inedible sauces in which you can barely recognize the flavors. Everything is put in mini trays whereas before the presentation was nice. Good burgers though, luckily considering the price! In short, we will not return to this GBK again. And given how few people passed by while we were there, others are doing the same as us.

The burgers were delicious and served by very kind people, one of them even tried to speak my language! I really loved this place

Awful, don’t bother. Cold hard tasteless food, massively overpriced. Go to Honest Burger around the corner.

No one approached us to provide us a table. Just left us lingering. Sat ourselves down. Atmosphere is draining - just dark. Refused to refund the food, after telling us it was not halal while giving the food. Told us to refund via an online service, but the online service said it was possible to refund in store.

We headed to GBK during late afternoon and we discovered a really nice place with amazing burgers. Special note for service, Alka did a really great job breaking the ice and provided lovely explanations.

Orders on like, and the food came early once I unwrapped the food I found 25 cold chips. When I called and raised this with the restaurant they said that there was nothing that they could do. So i basically wasted £20:49 on a meal to be give a small portion of cold chips

Ordered online then called restaurant to ask for no house mayo.. the waitress passed on the message but the cook decided to ignore and went ahead and put mayo on and then realising their mistake just scraped the mayo off the burger.. very stupid thing to do with all the allergies nowadays should be more careful

While visiting family in London we decided to pop into GBK. I’m glad we did because the vegan options were much nicer than other food places in the area. Service was lovely and the food was great. Would recommend

I went to see the place because of the good reviews here, but I left very disappointed! I ordered The Mighty and expected something incredible, but the meat was gigantic and super oily and the bread was tiny! So in the first bites the bread was all oily and soft, I couldn't even eat it. And the rest of the ingredients were there just for decoration, as the meat was so oily that I couldn't taste anything else!

Terrible service, the manager is useless doesn't know how to explain even the menu and the explanation how to use the app is not clear. Someone with gluten intolerance he made the experience like a nightmare

The manager shay was extremely helpful and kind. Helped me find my lost retainers. Goat.

Everything was fine apart from the flashing strobe lights (ie faulty)which made the experience a bit disconcerting if you have any epilepsy 😕

Brilliant experience at this GBK !!! Went in on a Tuesday evening. Our server, Shay, was the highlight of the trip, the service he gave was impeccable, very kind and accommodating. The food was amazing as always :)

We had a nice lunch and our waiter was welcoming. Ordered Chicken strips burger with fries and vegie burger with fries for £7.85 each. For this location price was pretty reasonable. Chicken strips burger was not the best I had but it was still okay. Vegie burger was good. Fries were great!

driver time from collection from restuarant was ok, though food was cold when arrived. Time in restaurant was from 6.40pm to 7.20pm

After visiting the science museum, we went to eat at the restaurant. We were able to choose the 8 euro menu that they offer during the week. Includes hamburger and thin or thick fries that were very good. Adding the drink and the service in total was 25 euros. Very friendly staff, generally highly recommended!

I ordered The mighty burger Chicken wings Chocolate milkshake Service was very good .. food was fast. He mighty is not so big don’t worry it is doable for one person. I loved the meat patty.. you can taste the meat I lived it. The burger was little bit salty for me. But it is one of the best I have ever tried. The wings are ok The milkshake is not the best Mighty burger 9/10 wings 7/10 Chocolate milkshake 6/10 I noticed a lot of delivery drivers came in. It seems that the restaurant is very popular on delivery apps.

i’m not usually one to leave a review, whether it’s positive or negative, but i feel the absolute need to praise this amazing place. my dad and i had such an incredible experience! we were seated practically immediately after being warmly welcomed by a smiling face, the server was beautifully mannered as well, and our food came out in absolutely no time! and, the food was legitimately the best my dad and i have ever had, and the price is absolutely amazing for what you get. plus, the atmosphere is amazingly calm and perfect for engaging in conversation. definitely cannot recommend enough!!!

Disappointing experience. The service was lacking. Our orders kept getting messed up or things forgotten even though we politely and patiently kept correcting them. It’s also a lot of money to ask for £15 for a burger without any fries. We were charged an extra £6 extra for some soggy and flavourless truffle fries. Staff also weren’t ready for our reservation.

HIGHLY NOT RECOMMEND!!! CUSTOMER SERVICE 0 ACTUALLY EVEN NEGATIVE!!! Mistakes happened , but the way how You deal with it makes You premium . Not this venue either company itself at all !!! App had a glitch and charge me twice and place twice order , venue MNG haven’t been even able to APOLOGISE , THAT’S THE FIRST RULE OF CUSTOMER SERVICE. Made an official online complaint and BEEN IGNORED. WELL NO WONDER THAT YOU GOING DOWN AS COMPANY WITH THIS LEVEL OF CARE FOR CUSTOMERS!!!

GBK didn't follow any notes and chunky chips were half refried oil filled old chips.

How come every time I go to GBK in South Kensington for a BIG DEAL way before 5pm, it’s absolutely never available and I end up being “offered” something else ? More expensive obviously!! Really strange !! … intentional ? Very probably !!

Not bad if you need some back-home food a-la United States. Got the bacon cheeseburger with the country cheese and it was good. Wife got the Korean BBQ chicken sandwich, said it was good as well. Service was slow but that was our entire experience in England & France. Daughter asked for a well-done burger and was told it would be 10 mins but it didn't actually take that long.

Ive eaten at a few of the GBK resturants, this one is very much average. Servers were unpleasant and condescending which added to the mediocre experience and the food was OK, sweet potato fries were good, burgers were a bit of a mess in terms of presentation and taste was average. Wouldn't go out of my way to eat at this GBK again.

Haven't been here for years, but I still think the burgers are still good.

We went here when I was in hospital, always friendly, amazing food. I love their go naked meal as it makes me feel not as bloated and love the idea of their homeslaw and salad! Our waiters were patience and listened to our order! I will be definitely going back, delicious!

Very friendly service from your delivery guy. My food was in tact and nicely handed to me. As for the food it was luke warm but that's understandable seeing as I live quite a distance from GBK South Kensington. I ate every morsel and the salted caramel milkshake is to die for. It's not too sweet and it's not too bland. It's juuuuuuuust right. Love my South Ken GBK-happy new year even though it's early Feb 2024. Just Eats and GBK Sth Ken, keep doing what you're doing

Friendly staff with a fair bit of seating. The chicken is halal. We came for their lunch time meal. The chicken burgers tasted great. I would come back

Great Burgers and friendly. All three of us in our party were happy with the meal. Very popular with Uber Eat = if it's cold outside get a seat a bit away from the door.

I had try the food with this restaurant first they provided me with wrong order and the food was very very bad, and it’s cause issue on my stomach, I totally do not recommend The worst restaurant you can eat in London, and the burger options are many, and I do not recommend it

Gosh :D I'm writing this and I can still taste the food in my mouth :D Shay the assistant manager went above and beyond to ensure that we had a good evening. I had a Californian burger with Halloumi as sides accompanied by a vegan Oreo milkshake and they were both tasty. This was my first time visiting a GBK and Shay has set the bar high!

Their grilled pesto burger is delicious, I like it Also, the sweet potatoes are crunchy and amazing. I recommend them

the chicken tenders tasted like fish, i had to double check my order to make sure it wasn’t fish. the chicken in the burger tasted like it been sitting there for ages and not fresh chicken. loved the chips though.

Great food. Too bad it was literally two hours late. It was so late, that the review prompt doesn’t even go up to the amount of minutes by which it was late. And it arrived cold obviously. However, it was delicious. Only wish it hadn’t taken a literal two hours to reach me when the initial estimate was 25-40 minutes.

Don't bother going if you have allergies. I was refused service by management because the kitchen can't be bothered to clean their equipment to make it safe for customers with allergies.

It was amazing! The food was amazing and I loved it so much! I only eat their onion rings because they are soooo good! 😋😋. Just to let you know, I am a vegetarian myself and there are a lot of vegetarian options available!

Very nice place, the chicken salad bowl is one of the best dishes I have tasted. The staff are friendly and the atmosphere is great. Service was a little slower this evening, it seems to be a very busy place for takeaway orders, which can be a little distracting when the drivers keep walking through the restaurant to collect orders. Also, it gets quite cold when you are at your table, as the takeaway drivers wait in the doorway and hold the door open when waiting. Overall a very good place to eat great food at a reasonable price. I will certainly go back again.

Only one offering of Hala (Fried Chicken) My friend suggests the ‘Taxi Driver’ burger, however, it is not Halal.

Perfect service and the best stuff

Burger was surprisingly really decent, much better than I expected. Menu said medium rare was an option, waiter asked if we wanted medium rare, and it came with a flag in the burger announcing it was medium rare–and indeed, it was a nice pink throughout. Buns and flavors were also great. Halloumi was good. Sweet potato fries weren't anything special, but were fine. Exceeded expectations.

Food is as expected, but the building & interior isn't great . The toilets are awful.

I like this place for the food and the location. Its less than 10 minutes walk from the famous museums, so you can avoid the hectic crowd while enjoying delicious food. Don't forget the milkshakes. We have been here a couple of times and our experience has been pleasant both times. Food arrives quickly. The staff is friendly and good with kids, without bothering you too much with unnecessary questions. There is also some space to sit with an outside view.

Great GBK staff great and food very nice But be careful we got charged a heavy service charge which we did when we used the GBK in the 02 so we won't return. So be warned check the bill for a service charge. We didn't notice till we had left 😭

First time in the restaurant. Friendly staff who are very welcoming and professional. One of the staff members Vishwas time to explain every thing in the menu to my little girl. Would definitely come again and recommend to family and friends

Lovely place, quite relaxed atmosphere, the staff was accommodating and friendly, the food was decent. My Korean fried chicken burger had too much sauce or dressing, it was liquid and very messy to eat, but tasty. Everything else was fine

We're no strangers to GBK – been chowing down here for 15 awesome years. But seriously, Shay takes the cake. He was all about making sure we had a blast, especially with our little one. I've never seen such top-notch service. Massive thanks to Shay and the GBK crew for keeping us coming back for more burger goodness! 🍔👏

This is a good spot to meet up with friends, not too noisy, enough space between tables and great food and service. Over several visits, I have never had a bad experience.

Do NOT go here. I have emailed the company twice in the last 2 weeks to privately resolve an issue and have not been responded to. The service is poor and the food is expensive for average quality, and the staff just do not care.
