Food is good, cheaper family meal with various offers through the week. Service is always friendly. It does get busy so reservations are needed, thankfully we made one 😊

Really nice pub/restaurant. Ive been twice this week for a cheesy stack burger and the hunters chicken this evening. Took me a while to figure out why it was so nice....no loud pumping music! Just a nice low hubbub of people chattering away enjoying their partners and friends company. Takes a while to order and get that order but that due to it being busy and deservedly so! The staff are hard working and super nice and the food is well cooked and tasty....as usual, the bottom line - would i come back and would i recommend it....YES definitely, good food, good beer, really nice atmosphere and above all great friendly happy staff.

5 stars for lovely food and friendly staff. Couldn't fault the service. We had the flat bread with southern fried chicken and chips. It was very tasty. The look of the place put me off slightly. It was scruffy looking outside as well as tired and dated inside. As my sister had previously visited I went on her advice. Could definitely do with a refurb. When visiting the toilet the smell of urine was apparent as I walked past the end of the bar. Would visit again purely on the food and staff.

A while ago my mother and I visited this place for breakfast. The experience was awful. A woman, who we assume was the manager, was loudly and consistently berating her staff. Our server had made a mistake involving some coke spillage and hearing this blonde lady bully her staff and openly and loudly discuss her faults while patrons were in was frankly uncomfortable. We came for breakfast, not a demonstration of poor people skills and rudeness. The food was mediocre, the server got our order wrong, and the atmosphere was atrocious.

Decent food, arrived quickly and staff were all friendly. It's clean and feels relaxed. Reasonable pricing and we will definitely visit again

We had a family birthday here with 20 people on Thursday September 12th, we pre-ordered and the food and it was really good and the service was amazing they really looked after us and we all had a lovely evening, we will definitely be back xx

Got told we could sit anywhere that wasn’t reserved, then lady with red hair basically told us we could only sit on one table next to a screaming child. We then heard her tell another party they’d need to leave by a certain time if that table became reserved after they’d started their meal! Can’t just do that. Rest of the team was lovely-her customer service was severely lacking.

When we are en route to Scotland or in the area we always eat here. It's only about a mile from the M6 on the A7 going into Carlisle. The staff are friendly and professional and the place is very clean and well looked after. The prices are very reasonable and portions very generous, the specials especially the skillet ones Gammon and the hunters chicken were delicious. My wife left in her back behind and a very courteous member of staff ran outside to find us and hand it back. Great service can't recommend enough!

There was a printer error so the drinks got delayed till we had kind of finished the main so we had the drinks for free and he said he will refund the drinks, which was nice of him

This was our first visit today and we can’t fault the staff the food and the venue. The staff made sure we had everything we wanted and that we were happy with our meals, the food came out quickly and was delicious, the pub had plenty of space and you could sit in a quiet corner for two or have a large table for a family gathering also there is plenty of outdoor tables. We regularly visit Green King pubs as we have family that work for the company and we were very impressed.

We often eat out here and love it. On 27th April, 11 family members (6 adults and 5 children) celebrated my husband’s retirement with dinner booked for 5.30pm. The meals arrived on time and everyone enjoyed them. The food was good, steaks perfectly cooked and the staff were very friendly and obliging and made it really special for him. Definitely recommended.

Basic pub grub place - staff pleasant and friendly

Very bad service order starters at 19.34 pm and order the drinks at 19.52 pm the starters arrived but still no drink which was order on the app. Customers were going to the bar and getting served so I ask members off staff about our drinks at 19.56 pm she would go and check she Come and said they are doing them now. At 20.07pm the drinks still not arrived at 20.10 pm our main were brought to our table which was number 10 then at 20.15 pm our drinks arrived must admit never experience this service before. I will give them another chance when I book the restaurant again. This is the reason I do not use the turf Carlisle because the service. Again they had a chance to put it right. They did not do it. That why I started to use the gosling in the last 2 years I have used the gosling for birthdays never had a problem in about 12 times I have use this restaurant. Sorry I had to post this I post everytime I use this restaurant this is my first negative post

Great food and atmosphere, staff were happy and helpful even though it was a really busy day. The Guinness 0.0 was a real treat! We have eaten here a few times and the food and service are excellent 5* all-round 👍

Called in for a drink. Busy place with most tables reserved in dining area. Friendly staff.

Looked for a dog friendly rest stop close to M74/M6 heading south. Found Gosling Bridge Inn, just 3-4 minutes from Motorway. Staff welcomed us on arrival and made a fuss of our four-legged companion, asked if he was allowed treats and brought a bowl of water and a bowl of treats straight to the table. Some local workmen who appeared to be regulars also chatted to him and brought him more treats. We arrived just before noon and had no problem getting a seat, but several tables were reserved, and it filled up fast.

We called in at 11.50am without a booking on Mothers day and they managed to find a table for 4 explaining that it could be up to 30mins to wait for food. We were served our starter in 15mins and our main course followed promptly. The food was very good and the staff were very pleasant and helpful. We ordered 2 steak flatbreads and 2 steak and chips with peppercorn sauce with onion rings followed by 3 chocolate fudge cakes and ice-cream, and 1 vegan ice-cream. The only thing they didn't have was peppermint tea which I have with every meal due to digestive problems so opted for water instead. We would definitely go back!

Popped in with a mate for a pint and some food. It was very busy and almost every table was taken, but the staff were dealing with it well and were absolutely on point 👌 We were told it could be up to 45 mins for food but everything arrived within 20 minutes and was absolutely beautiful, would definitely recommend!

We were served by Sarah, Beth and Claire today. All were so polite, friendly, professional and overall lovely. You can tell that the staff there are like a family when they keep them for so long! The food was really good, didn't take too long to come and staff checked in with us. The pub was spotlessly clean and had a lovely atmosphere. We'll be back and absolutely recommend the place to others

We've gone in first time on our new year's day family jaunt and absolutely loved it... Firstly staff all nice, chatty & helpful most of all. Literally service as you want it, ordered for 6 with confidence order wouldn't be messed up, the food was superb, steak 🥩 cooked to perfection gammon cooked to perfection, all food no issues all hot came at same time, puddings top line as well... Special mentions to the serving on staff & chefs 1230 new year's day, top job ladies and gents 👏 everything from pasta to chips to steak & even the eggs was perfect, everyone very happy, such a big order as well.... Bravo we'll be back👌👌😍

Always a nice atmosphere, quieter this time, sometimes we go and it can be super busy. Staff are lovely, food is lovely, have only ever been disappointed 1 or 2 times out of the loads of times we've been. Millionaire Waffle fries are the best in my opinion 😁

It was busy...it took a while to place our food order due to a large order before us, however the food was great, the service was great, it just took a little while, and you can't knock the value for money. Healthier options for the children if they wanted to. A thoroughly pleasant evening was spent waiting for the electricity to be restored. We'll be back. Thanks

We came for a meal as a family to celebrate my partners birthday, food is priced well, tasty and didn't take long to arrive. We were looked after by Sarah who was so pleasant and attentive as always. The staff in the gosling really add to the experience. We always enjoy our meals here. Extra thanks to Sarah.

Cold had to sit with our coats on ,waiting quite a while for food

Been here a few times. Today was a poor example of the food. My partner had a chicken burger that looked to be recooked and rock solid, I had the beef lag that had been overcooked, making it mush in the dish.. the chips and onion rings were under cooked.. soggy Sad..

Food was okay, nothing particularly special, I got cheese and bacon on my burger, there was one tiny piece of bacon put on the very centre, maybe there is a bacon shortage? The service was weirdly aggressive and there is a distinct impression they want us to go, I can't really explain better than, it's not rude persay, it's just weirdly aggressive.

Good place for food but when ordering your food they took the drinks order also. Problem is the person who took the food order also got you the drinks which left the people behind you waiting longer to order . It wasn't very busy at the time but it was still an inconvenience having to stand in a queue and wait to order your meal. Imo... Take the drinks order and get another member of staff to get the drinks so you could move on to the next customer. We will eat here again to see if it was just a one off, but there seemed to be plenty of staff at the time. The price of the food was reasonable and good. Staff are very friendly.

The food was nice enough for pub grub. I had a gammon steak, which was a fair size. In fact, it was nice to get a decent sized meal all around. PRICES were good. SERVICE was good. Food was good too. RECOMMENDED for pub grub.

Every time we go we don't have any complaints. The food is hot, fast, and cheap. Good for small or large groups and catering for all budgets very inexpensive and with warm and friendly staff.

It's a little bit dated now inside, but we are never disappointed when we visit from time to time whilst visiting relatives who live nearby. The staff are always friendly and helpful. The offers are terrific value and the food is well cooked, well presented and tasty. There are not many places you can go and have a decent feed and a couple of drinks for under £20 for two nowadays during the week and I would have no hesitation in recommending this place to anyone.

It was Christmas ladies lunch. We had the two course meal. It was turkey Christmas dinner with chocolate orange gateau. It was a lovely meal.everything was delicious well cooked and it was great value for money. We all treated ourselves to a mock tale to finish our treat. Family came to visit from Manchester. Booked here for food. Great service and lovely food. Atmosphere was very relaxing and children loved the choice on the menu.

The most disgusting men's toilets I've been too in a long while. Toilets don't smell like this if they're cleaned every day. My first and last visit to this pub. Food was poor too.
