Molly dealt with our table of four very efficiently and without any fuss. All of the food came out at the same time and they were all hot. Four empty plates at the end of the meal spoke for itself. Good value and the food was very tasty.

Booked a table for daughters 18th for a family meal. Our server for the entire evening was Lily and she did a great job. Was attentive for our entire visit, regular check-ins to see if we needed drinks etc. Certain meals we ordered weren't t available but Lily offered detailed alternatives (certainley knows her stuff). She was friendly and approachable throughout, an absolute credit to your restaurant. Food was great served in good time and very well presented. Thank you will deffo be back

Molly gave us a lovely welcome even though super busy day. Rihannon served us. Molly ensured we had everything right as I require gluten free food. I wish the katsu sauce was gf, it smells so nice. Tom delivered our food. Very friendly staff.

The food itself was perfect! All came out hot and you get what you pay for so no issues there at all! The service however was a massive let down! I can appreciate it being mothers day the staff have had a busy day however.... It was fairly quiet while we were there, after finishing our main course we sat for a good half hour before I got up to find someone so I could ask for the table to be cleared and dessert order to be taken. The young lady who came, cleared the plates away with a huff was very rude and very blunt. A comment was made to the young lady regarding her attitude and we were told that it's been very busy today and its only just slowed down ( again very snotty and aggressive ) to which i replied if you don't like your job you don't have to do it! Just because it was busier earlier on in the day it doesn't excuse the standard to slip. We weren't expecting greatness however we certainly weren't expecting the attitude we received! I think the young lady needs to brush up on her customer service skills or find another job where she doesn't have to deal with the general public. Overall this ruined the experience as the food can be great but the service is what makes it! ( equally the food can be awful but great service will turn it around ) As stated in the start of the review I can't fault the food at all and we all enjoyed our meal, it's just definitely worth noting the snotty attitude of the kids that work here. It was a young lady light brown hair and very plain looking.

This pub was highly recommended. It looked beautiful and welcoming. It states that no booking is required for bar or outside tables. We walked in as a family of 5 after paying for parking to be sharply turned away due to no tables being available. No tables were occupied outside at all. I appreciate tables inside had reservations on as I tried the app to book. The host was abrupt, and we only wanted a drink. I will not recommend this place to anyone. Kids left upset.

Just stopped for a quick hot drink. The whispering gallery in the ceiling (tucked away round the back) is worth a look, a beautiful historic feature.

Went for a meal to celebrate a wedding anniversary on a Saturday night. The place was rammed and I was concerned there may be quite a wait for food. Three waiting staff running around like dervishes were brilliant, attentive and making sure everyone was served. Sadly we were sat next to a table with some very unruly children who spent their entire visit jumping on the chairs and climbing on the table, if not for them we would probably have stayed longer. Food was fresh, hot and well presented, all enjoyed what the had. Staff were fantastic 👏

If you're looking for no thrill's food . At a reasonable cost . And staff that are friendly. Its the place to be .

I planned a meal for myself and a friend I haven’t seen for over 30 years, a bit nervous but the evening went well, planning our next visit soon.

Meal was dreadful. Dry and overcooked. Did complain. Not much action. Will not use again.

Third time in a row we have come for food and drinks to be told they are not serving food as they are too busy - even though you can still book a table online, Love coming here but they clearly need to sort this as we weren’t the only disappointed people, a few groups left for food elsewhere. ( we will of course now book in future, but still!) 🫣

My Calamari (Squid)starter was passable - not quite what I was expecting as it was short pieces (tentacles) that was coated in a crunchy layer. I didn't want to complain about it though. I loved the dip that came with it. As part of the meal deal, I opted for the mini grill, which I ate with a side of chips, which was all superb, with the two portions of chicken and gammon tasting flavourful and tender! The best food i have eaten for a very long time, I had the garlic mushrooms for starters and chicken chargrill,,, even the chips were so tasty. Food service was quick and wasn't waiting long. The lovely young waitress lilly?? I think her name was? was very professional.. Will definitely visit again.... it's my new favourite place to dine out

We are late to review but having came on here I am appalled by the lack of credit given to the staff and the very young MOD on Boxing Day. We came in at 1ish and immediately could tell how busy it was. The restraunt was completely full as well as a large party of 26 in the function room. Yet despite this we were seated sharpish, after it had been checked that we had booked in (we had), by a young looking girl who despite her age seemed to be in charge and in control of the shift (she introduced herself as Molly) she explained with maturity beyond her years that due to staff illnesses they were understaffed so there would be a little bit of a wait time regarding food and service. Which though there was perhaps a 45 minute wait before we received our food didn’t diminish the experience we had as both our waiters Molly and (I think his name was Tom) did incredible with the situation they were given despite her having to make ours (and everyone else’s) drinks due to an inexperienced bar man being the only other member of staff. We have a daughter in this industry and have seen first hand how stressful this period is on hospitality staff so believe that credit should be given where credit is due as a completely full restraunt and bar would’ve been hard to handle with a full team never mind 3 staff members. My only criticism of the day is that the higher ups in Greene King should think twice before offering a sinking ship to such a young girl regardless of the fact she was capable of handling it. 5 stars to Molly and the team for doing such a good job trying to make the day work and to the management please take this review as a more accurate representation of how Molly and the team conducted themselves then the entitled people below me whom clearly have no understanding of what it takes to work in this field.

We had a pre,Christmas family meal. The food was good and the staff were excellent and polite. The only thing was a small delay between courses.

We are staying at the holiday inn we did not want to eat there we found this place and thought we would try to get a table.we could have been out of luck but the staff were absolutely brilliant.they found us a table straight away even though they were fully booked the drinks was amazing as we got what we asked for nothing was to much trouble for them.i had a mixed grill which was amazing thanks to the chef cooked to perfection and my wife had chicken katsu she said it was yummy. The price for everything came to under £40 what an amazing place and such friendly staff I would recommend this place to anyone staying close by as you will be amazed how great this place is I will be returning again on my next visit to Peterborough.

We popped in for a meal on our way home from work. The food was beautiful and the service was brilliant thanks to Molly. We will visit again.

Great service from Molly, 9 of us and the kids and adults all enjoyed the food and puds!

Seven of us had a birthday meal here. It was great food overall, the burgers & steaks were of great quality and flavour, the Sundae desserts were a bit bland, but cheesecakes were great with decent portions. We also thought the drinks were a tad overpriced (£6.70 for an IPA). The waitress Molly (aka Roger :D ) was very friendly & accommodating, being especially patient & understanding with the baby! The atmosphere was what you would expect for a Saturday night, lively but not excessively loud. The seating was well laid out, we didn't feel crammed in. Parking was a tad limited due to the Christmas tree market but there were a few spaces dotted around.

Our waitress Molly was very attentive, always checking we were ok, little mix up with the orders, but overall an excellent evening, food was cooked just perfect, looked pleasing to the eye, would recommend to anyone wanting good food and excellent service, Molly is a credit to her employer.

After being let down by another restaurant, we were warmly welcomed into a lovely cosy area by Molly and her colleagues. Really attentive team and the food came out promptly and was delicious and just the right temperature to wolf down. Would thoroughly recommend!

Visited earlier today (6th Dec) on a whim after finishing some work, had a lovely little chat with the barmaid who was really friendly and polite. Sat down with a cider and just unwound, before having my friend join me for dinner. The same barmaid took the order, was very quick inputting the food and sorting the drinks and once again polite and friendly. The food was as expected with Greene King, good quality, affordable and service was quick from ordering to table. Will happily visit again!

Great night on Wednesdays quiz night

I was disappointed that I took my mum for roast for her birthday, and unfortunately what was on the menu was not what we got and no warning had been given prior to receiving the food. We got plain roast potatoes and plain carrots when advertised rosemary and garlic roast potatoes and maple glazed carrots. When questioned I was informed they ran out, but we should have been told this at the point of ordering. The peas were also hard.we had triple meat and whilst the meat was nice, beef was not pink as advertised. To say I was a bit miffed as similar happened on mother's Day and we were assured it was a one off. Please inform customers of what is on the menu is not what is being sent out. Also the sharing platter was way over cooked and my children hardly touched it. The onion rings were so hard my son couldn't bite through..

Came in as a larger table Saturday night and has a wonderful time. We were served by Molly who was super knowledgeable and efficient and all around a delight as she tended to our needs. Food was absolutely delicious as well and drinks kept us well watered to say the least

Cold dry food, service too down. Sunday roast was a joke. McDonald's next time. Poorest meal I've ever had. I didn't complain, has was my wife's 70 birthday party. The company of the family made the day.

Upmarket Green King pub. Food excellent

The food was absolutely amazing. The server, Imam, was so kind and handled our food expertly, and was polite, friendly And professional. I think she represents the greene king brand very well and made me and my guest feel so welcome and included. She made sure we were looked after.

Last day of term treat with the teens. A pint and burger for £12 was a bargain. Our waitress Lily was fast, efficient and knowledgeable and did everything she could to help.

Had Sunday lunch on 27th of October. The staff were very friendly but run off their feet. The food was extremely slow to arrive and we had 50/50 splint on the quality of what was served. We had to skip dessert as we didn’t care to wait for another hour to receive it. Again I would like to say the Staff were working hard and would have given them a five star review . Never happy to post bad reviews and hopefully this was just an off day

A great location and surroundings, and the service was excellent. However, the food was way below par - we had a shared starter of cauliflower bites, which were a deep brown colour and the coating was very oily, but the cauliflower inside was a mush. For main I had a steak sandwich, the bread was nice but I hadn't noticed that I hadn't been asked about the temperature of the steak, what I got was grey steak which was tough and chewy. The fries were supposed to be seasoned with Rosemary salt, they weren't. The other main was honey chicken burger, the coating again was darker than expected and oily. Add to this our 1st choice of wine wasn't available, it's fair to say it was a disappointing visit, and despite the great service, I wouldn't return, due to the poor quality food.

Cailin the server was nice polite and good at her job and food came all together hot and nice of a good quality...Only down side we said that it would of been nice to have music in venue not loud just in background but their wasn't...all in all a good nice place 😀

Family lunch out on a Monday so it was nice and quiet. Nice big restaurant, nice decor. Waitress friendly and helpful. We all ordered off the lunch menu. The food was good, mixed grill delicious, the batter on the fish was raw but they were happy to rectify it. The only thing everyone complained about was the side salad on the plate was warm. I'm guessing they plate it up while the plates are warm so none of us ate it as warm lettuce, cucumber and tomatoes are not nice.

Went last Monday for an early tea, absolutely fantastic service from Caitlin. Fantastic meal, my family had a mixture of foods and all was very well cooked and served with a smile.

Omg those onion rings were absolutely disgusting! Never going there again! I pointed out I wasn't happy with my food nothing was done to rectify the cremated onion rings that were all stuck together the stake was Stone Cold. Completely unacceptable food quality, rude service.

I'm generally wary of visiting chain restaurants. However, we were visiting Peterborough and the Gordon Arms was very well recommended. We visited and the reputation was well deserved. The food was really good and we couldn't fault any of it. What made the difference was the service which we received. We were served by Molly, who was a credit to herself and the establishment. She was very personable and had the light touch, which put us both at ease. The whole front of house team seemed to be comfortable with their jobs and generally happy. The team are obviously doing something right. Keep it up.

Thought I'd pop In for a pint on the way home, big mistake. Very rude barman didn't even say hello. He then proceeded to be rude to a waitress in front of me. Poured my pint and handed it to me without a word.

A quick call, and they sorted a table for 12 people. Very short notice. The ramblewood wouldn't accommodate us. I'm very glad we decided to come here instead.

Waiting at the bar for 10 minutes to be served just kept being ignored so left had enough of waiting for staff to serve me and my wife it's like they don't want outsiders custome so avoid rubbish service

We have not been for some time but was pleasantly surprised. We went without booking on a very busy Sunday, but was happily seated and everything was available on the menu, service was excellent, our main server was MIa and she was very polite and efficient, double checking orders as it was taken to make sure there were no issues and the young man serving the food was polite and said what was still to come so you did not think things had been missed, 2 adults and 3 children left happy! we will be back!

Had a lovely birthday meal here over the bank holiday weekend, they are dog friendly which was a help. But one thing to consider is that they are only dog friendly in the bar area and not the restaurant. The food quality was very good, and the service was great, food arrived within 30mins which I feel is a good time to wait. Will revisit when next in the area.

We did enjoy the Sunday dinner. But not the best we have had. Hence 4 stars. Not sure about the supposedly roast potatoes. Not a lot of meat and my pork looked grilled. All very edible though and we did enjoy it. Staff friendly and fast service, came and asked us mid meal if everything ok, that's nice. Went in the garden afterwards to finish our drinks. Yes pleasant afternoon and we will return.

Excellent service. Friday 16th August, all staff were clearly under pressure with a very busy evening, but all were very friendly, helpful and welcoming. Looking forward to visiting again. Well done all.
