Still a good pub although I hadn't been back in a few years

Great place to watch sports even rugby lol 😂 extremely busy on evenings due to students area but thumbs up 👍👍👍👍👍👍 the landlady ain’t bad either And a rather nice pint of Guinness at £4.45 Reserve tables are available

We had a large booking for 57 people and the value for money was outstanding! The staff were kind and flexible and they were very helpful to accommodate everyone's dietary needs, even reaching out to those with specific requirements who couldn’t order from the pre-order menu to arrange suitable alternatives. food was terrible small portions my £8 chicken starter was 2 small slices of chicken on sticks my steak and chips came with a really tough steak that i couldnt cut let alone chew very overpriced for the area and food took a long time

Me and my boyfriend visited the Goose this morning, he had an event to attend at 12:30 and had to get the train at 11:23. We arrived there by 10:15, sat down and ordered at the till. My boyfriend ordered a small veggie breakfast for me and a big traditional breakfast for hm, the order was placed by 10:25, we waited a very long time as there was a big group having breakfast that had ordered before us. At 10:40 no one had told us why the food was delayed or how long?! We revived the food at 11:10, he had already missed his train and was even pointless to complain as that would even take longer. On top of all this they gave me a small traditional breakfast and my boyfriend ordered a small veggie breakfast for me, disappointed, never coming back. Food quality wasn’t even worth the £23 we paid.

Brad served us perfectly, collected our glasses pretty much as soon as we finished , asked us how our evening was going and also offered to carry our drink to our table. Haven’t been here many times but Brad really does add that extra mile to make us want to return.

We had our end of year Christmas meal here and all the staff were so helpful and couldn’t have done more for us. The food was also amazing and thanks to the chefs for getting all 31 of our orders ready and prepped for us so fast. We will definitely book again!

The food we had was cooked and prepared to a very high standard. 2 courses and a drink was £20 for two. It sounds too good to be true, it really wasn't. They exceeded expectations and as such they stand out very distinctly from other pubs. I will definitely go back. Easy 5 stars.

Amazing venue, the service from the bar team was excellent despite it being extremely busy, the team were very friendly & attentive! The atmosphere was amazing, they have a juke box allowing everyone to enjoy all genres of music. The food selection was great, we was very impressed with the 2 for £20 offer! Would definitely recommend to all!

I will never step foot in this pub again due to a racist staff member. He has worked there for years and they have allowed his behaviour to continue.

The goose was a second home when I lived in Selly Oak and it was great to go back yesterday. The staff were super accommodating for our reunion and the atmosphere was awesome 👍🏼

We booked this pub next to student accommodation the weekend we took our son up to university for our family of 6. At no time were we told we needed physical ID for our other two children, twins aged 16. Ridiculous.

Great place to have a meal and a drink. The staff are all really welcoming and friendly. Great atmosphere and a great place for a night out. Myself and all the fencing lot go here every night after training and will never go anywhere else. Liz, the manager always says hello to us when we're in and is always up for a chat, as well as the all the staff that know us. Don't bother going to the soak when you can go to the Goose!

Mason looked after me and my friends very well, very welcoming and goes the extra mile for his guest's. 10/10 staff member would recommend going to the Goose.

Surprised about this place reasonable price for food and drink but after starting my meal opened the tomato sauce bottle only to find dried up food inside the cap of the sauce bottle managed to eat food but it was very off putting to find food inside a sauce cap someone isn't checking the bottles properly

They ran out of food twice in a row, once because of the Eurocup Finals, then just like that. But good range of Beers, staff exceptionally nice, and the food we got was better than the average pub grub.

Nice enough place, has a slight sticky floor feel to it though. Can imagine what the night life in here is like! Shame that 2 builders on a break flying through beers and swearing spoiled a pleasant early lunch break.

Lovely long island cocktail for me and on of the best guiness’ my fella has had, our bartender jack was amazing and great at helping me choose what to have as i couldnt decide! Would definitely visit again

Liz one of the managers is one of the best and most caring person Ive ever met even though this is a huge place with not many locals I still feel at home here and always safe and loved by the staff for example Jayme, emanual (he is Spanish bout still amazing and such loving and caring, he also just won the euros), mason always a great guy and will try and facilitate anything you want, Amalie who is kind and caring and also quick pace all the staff make the goose feel like a safe and secure family owned pub even though it is filled with rowdy students but I will feel safe and will always come here for a pint as everything is reasonable priced and always top quality and speedy even with a bar that is full during euros end of the day everyone is lovely and I couldn’t ask for anymore of a good night love everyone here and will come here for many more months, weeks/ years

An old favourite of mine, I was down the goose reliving my uni days, had a great time, watching the cricket and enjoying burgers and a bev I foolishly left my headphones behind - realising after I was on the train home, after a quick call, Liz from the team was kind enough to mail them to me the next days Thanks again Liz, you're a superstar 😀

Quiet at lunch time and buzzing in the evening with great staff

I am reporting this a bit late but straight up rude owner or manager, began raining outside so people began to put their hoods up, as soon as i put my hood up, manager stormed over and demanded i put it down, as i did, i made a joke about my hair, he instantly became aggressive and rude threatening to kick me and my friends out as he was the owner. I Felt very uncomfortable. after i few minutes there was still many people with there hoods up with there being seemingly no issue and the security seemed to not care . Wouldn’t never return as the rudeness was just unescessary

I'm extremely upset with the disgusting attitude that I'm assuming is assistant manager or manger, I asked another member of staff her name and it was Jess I believe. She scoffing her face behind bar, waved her hands to me for someone else to serve me infront of my face when I didn't speak a word. This isn't the first time I've felt totally uncomfortable while she's been shift and I'm a regular that is concerned about this disgraceful behaviour. Not happy

Food was very poor the bacon just strapped in pieces, not just over done and crispy but disgusting and cold, the corn 🌽 on the cob was taken straight from the fridge and not even warmed up, the service was slow because of staff talking to each other instead of serving the customer. Very disappointed will not come back

We were ex Birmingham students on a re union. The service was excellent in particular Lisa who helped us all sit together and enjoy a great afternoon. Thanks from all of us.

Place changes at 6 pm from an excellent bar to an enforced atmosphere. Door staff are bullies, and staff become inept. Total contradiction. Avoid if over 21...

On location miles from home made to feel welcome came for round 2 because of the atmosphere thank you Trinity Amy Colllette and Steve and your exceptional chef who made my dinner to exceed my expectations.I will come and see you when I pass through and if I don't ill make the effort to even if it's a quick hello

What can I say for this place. It has been the cornerstone of my uni experience. Such friendly staff, specifically Rocky who is the face of the establishment. Couldn’t imagine anywhere better to go for a cheeky pint let alone a day session. Long may beers at the goose continue.

This establishment takes you back in time! Great environment and even greater staff! One such member named rocky (formally rockstar) is nothing but polite and adds to an establishment already oozing with good vibes! The food, phenomenal! An absolute hotspot for rugby boys and banter!

Unbelievable establishment, the atmosphere is unmatched in the county. Rocky lives up to his reputation as a super star, the hospitality, the food and the drinks are unmatched. Best pub in Brum. We come to the goose for Rocky and the great pints. Highly recommend!

Been coming here at the last couple of days while I’ve been to town and I’ve met the manager who’s absolutely lovely and friendly and who’s also in a positive attitude she has blonde hair, she’s very welcoming and politely also the food is very fresh and very good deals on the 241 cocktails and spirits

Came in to watch the football, served by liz. Fantastic lady!!! Could not do enough for me and my friends. Brilliant visit, great food & drink. Highly recommend 👍

Excellent pub, real character and great atmosphere both when quiet (for a quiet pint) or jumping when all the students and locals arrive. I have to drive today so 0 percent alcohol in a cold glass, does the job...👍

The place is like a university sports site, with a thousand TVs with different sports and events and promotions around it. The food, classic English and not of high quality but it was good, the portions somewhat small but acceptable. Price not very expensive. University area... far from the center. Curious to go and visit!

As a student pub it really does the simple things well. It has good table service, plenty of room for large groups, and a nice place to simply vibe with a pint.

Good local food with variety of foods to choose from but waiting time is 35 mins and kitchen closes early.

I am an Erasmus student in UoB, definitely the best bar near the University, very cozy, staff is great, food is really good and you have awesome prices. Been looking for a reason to give it 4 stars but just can’t! Definitely a good and friendly bar to go to.

Goosy Goosy Gander.... Great place, been here years ago but popped in for a quick couple of pints to unwind after a stressful visit to the QE. Firstly, any place with Jaipur on tap is automatically up there a top place contender. Lovely selection of beers, gins and others. Truly splendid. Venue is nice and big and airy, with pretty funky tunes playing. I'm not sure the student crowd is everyone's cup of tea but for me, I like it. Plenty of other 'mature' types there and no eyebrows raised, nice chilled out crowd. Missus stated that the menu and I should not meet because a) it looked good, b) I was hungry and c) I lack self control. Didn't see any food up close so cannot comment. Granted it wasn't Friday or Saturday night when we went but I would put this up there at number 3 for favourite places for a couple of wets. Smashing.
