This is the second time I've been here, both times at lunchtime. The first time I was told they closed at 2pm and as it was just after 1pm I was too late. The next time was today and as it was just before 1pm I was told sternly I could eat but had to be out by 1.30 as they close at 2pm. Then charged £10 for a breakfast roll and cup of tea which whilst it was very nice it wasn't worth that, especially as I had to throw it down and get out. There wasn't a single other customer in as they clearly know it's not allowed near closing time!

This is the best coffee in Brechin without a doubt, always excellent Very good selection of bakery goods and hot food Quick service, great friendly staff who, once they know it, will always address you by name and exchange banter when appropriate.

Popped In for a coffee and a quick bite to eat. Served quickly. I had a bacon roll and flat white which the price is very reasonable.( Also special offer). Cafe clean. Staff very efficient and friendly. Very helpful. Would highly recommend. Very nice atmosphere. Will definitely return.

Premium priced bakery. Nice presentation of food. Disappointing results in taste and ingredients. Nice staff and good service. Hard to understand the lack of value. Especially with as this shop faces two other bakeries?

Goodfellow and Steven is a straightforward, plain cafe in a bakers’ shop, and is far removed from the trendy tea room or coffee house genres that predominate these days. That’s not to say that it isn’t worth visiting, and we enjoyed decent tea and coffee along with a very tasty panini (cheese and pepperoni) which was served with a decent garnish. Service was quick, efficient and friendly.

Recently 4 of us tried Goodies for lunch as it was always tasty and good quality in Dundee. They ran out of what I'd ordered before it was made, although the place was empty. None of us got the food as we'd ordered it (could be dangerous if you had allergies). Service was polite. Place is dreary. Would definitely go to the cafe in the High Street instead next time as the food and the service is always good and it's a nice, cheery place to be.

Well, yes, I may very well still be in the heart of my youth and as such you could call into question my experience on such matters... However, I have tried a lot of different pies in my short lived time and I reckon that the mark of any good bakery (here in Scotland), is the flavour of their own handmade Scotch pies. I only serve the tastiest morsels to my taste buds and this brings me nicely (and neatly) to Goodfellow & Steven. Here, let me summarise this with a poem:Oh you sweet and delicious, meaty thingIf you were a lassWe'd hae a flingGet in ma bellyDae it quick!By jings this hunger is makin' me sickNorth, South, East or WestFae Auchertermuchty tae BudapestIf there's a pie fae meI'll hae ye know'Tis Goodfellow & StevenThat's where tae goAye, ye heard me richt!London tae LevenIt's got tae beGoodfellow & Steven.

Struggling to get used to the new opening hours arrived too late to sit in. Had hoped to sit in but staff cleaning up. Asked for food to go from menu but could not even get a sandwich. Server went off to do more chores. I spotted made up blister pack sandwiches, one of the other staff shouted to my serverwho came back, had forgotton about counter sandwiches. Managed to get a chicken tikka sandwich and a tuna mayo sandwich plus a muffin and a trybake. The sandwiches were very fresh and appetising and the home baking was delicious. A very good selection to choose from I was very satisfied and would choose the same in that situation again. Would reccomend to anyone and will still come back.

Decided to try here after family recommended it however we left disappointed. Firstly, We felt we waited a long time considering the place was near empty and the cutlery at our table was sticky…. My wife had steak pie, steak was tough and gravy more like a chicken gravy than beef, very average. I had the katsu curry which tasted nice (this is why I gave 2 stars in total) and we shared a salt and pepper chicken. I ordered my son a cheeseburger which came very pink in the centre, not an issue for an adult but kids don’t like ‘rare’ burgers, it was very thin so the chef must only have flashed it on the grill, again pretty disappointed with this one. We should have expected this it being a Belhaven which I usually avoid, gave it a chance due to the recommendation but won’t be giving it another one. Cost us a cool £40.

Attended a surprise birthday party upstairs in the function suite. There was a good selection of chairs for everybody. The dancefloor was ok assuming most people don't get up to dance, however it was extremely sticky probably a combination of spilt drinks and not polished. It's perhaps ok from a safety perspective but if you want to dance it's rough on the knees! Toilets were ok but really dark so no way you could fix your makeup if that's your thing. It was a good size for a private function and most folk probably don't care about the dance floor.

Chapter and verse is my favourite restaurant in Forfar. The curries are the best, but the menu offers a good range of options for everyone, let’s say there is a mix of indian and pub meals. Service has always been excellent, fast and excellent value for money. I cannot recommend it high enough, this is because the kitchen staff is talented and consistent preparing high quality meals.
