Popped in for lunch. Amazing kale and feta soup followed by houmous and roasted veg ciabatta. Delicious all washed down with a pint of Chouffe.

Really sad to be leaving this review as I had previously had a wonderful experience of Gonzo's food menu and drinks. I took a friend here today (Sunday) as I was excited to show them the food they had on offer. When we got there, it was clear that there was only one person managing the entire shop, bar, food ordering and food making by themselves. I asked if they were serving food/tapas on that day and he told me that it was just the sandwiches on offer, with some of those also not available because they didn't have the ingredients. We sat down and proceeded to wait for nearly half an hour as he made the orders of coffees and sandwiches for other tables. We left without having been served. This isn't to call him out in any way because he was clearly completely overstretched trying to manage everything. However, I would not come back here on a Sunday with current staffing, as they just were not able to manage having 4-5 tables of people ordering drinks and food. Would still recommend trying them on Saturday as I had previously had a good experience.

Where do I begin? A wonderful vibrant venue full of friendly staff, great beers (an impressively extensive range that constantly changes with a particular focus on Lambic) and a great community feel. Thank you Gonzo, for bringing great beer to a local venue.

Fabulous taproom with stunning small plates of food, should you want any. I dare you not to. Great selection of craft beers.

Hadn't been here since it was renovated. It had a great feel and was a relaxed atmosphere. We just had drinks but the food looked great and I'd like to go back and try it. Lots of great beers on tap as well as a huge selection of bottles and cans that can also be purchased and drank inside. Will be going back soon!

Great shop with every style of beer, that I have visited on and off for several years. It has a range of pricing that you'd expect from craft beer starting around £3.50 a can to £10 an beyond. Beer is organised clearly into styles and breweries (pleased that they stock Black Iris, one of my favorites). Fridges are cold so the cans are perfect temperature to drink straight away. The taproom is probably the best place for beer in Earlsdon but far from the best in Coventry and Warwickshire. Very expensive and underwhelming beer in my experience. Quite pretentious vibes, doesn't feel anything like a pub, also very limited soft drinks (other than AF beer) so not great if with people that aren't drinking alcoholic drinks. I'll continue to use the shop for sure but won't be revisiting the taproom in favour of more traditional micropubs with fairer priced beer which is still good and still from independent breweries.

It was brilliant before and even better now. Always a great selection of drinks and the food offerings are exquisite. Chef Sarah is a genius and a great win for Gonzo.

Have been shopping here on and off for years - arguably the best selection of beers in the country. Visited the taproom last night for a low-key Valentine's date; the beer was every bit as good as expected, but I had no idea the food was going to be as good as it was. Other half loved his potato terrine, my charred hispi cabbage was substantial and perfectly seasoned, and desserts were a dream. Can't see us not returning next year for another relaxed and enjoyable experience.

Always loved it here but this week’s launch of the new food menu is unbelievable! Affordable but refined, tasty and interesting dishes. Great service and a brilliant selection of beers too obviously. Can’t recommend enough.

Best place in Earlsdon for beer, food and atmosphere! Me and my partner and our friends go regularly because we appreciate the staff, room, food and drink options. Highly recommend! You can order 3rds, halfs and full pints on everything on tap.

Went in for a coffee and snack, great find. Excellent coffee - nice Fracino machine , good barista. Sandwich was delicious. Then spent more on bottled beers from awesome selection. Top establishment, run with knowledge and passion. Well done all involved.

Great bar. Best range of craft beer in Coventry. Good range of deli food these days too. Look out for meet the brewer events which are great.

Bottle shop with tap room at the rear. Friendly staff. Big tap list with what you expect for choice, not more. More expensive than I would have thought. Parking is a PITA

The place is clean but not allowing customers to have a taste sample of a beer before buying a pint is poor. Wanted to try a different flavour but as they don’t let you taste I had to go for a more standard pint. Personally think better off going to Dhillons or Twisted Barrel for drinks in Coventry

Dissatisfying place! More conceited than London, sure it's Coventry and not Mayfair? I'm never going to try coming back here! insolent staff and an attitude that customers exist to serve not be stratified

Amazing beer shop and tap room in a nice area, ran and operated by lovely people. Highly recommended for either picking up a few interesting beers, or for sitting in and having some beers off tap (post covid of course)

Very tasty beers served here, with a very wide selection on tap, which change every so often. The staff know their beer should you want advice on what kind of beer to order. Space is certainly at a premium, though.

Absolutely love this place. Fantastic selection of craft beers from all over, with lots of new beers coming through. I filled a basket the first time I went there, spending far more than I meant to just because there was so much I wanted. I haven't had a drink in there yet but the backroom bar looks great too. Highly recommended, and best bottle shop in Coventry by a mile.

Super shop - you won't find much (or any) mainstream beer here: it's mainly high quality, specialist, below the radar stuff (with prices to match in some cases). The tap room at the rear (which ordinarily sells draft beer to drink on the premises) is a temporary casualty of COVID-19. Also sells cider and wine.

Beer Gonzo is a top notch place to go to for a specialist beer or two and the wine selection is very good. The people who work there are very welcoming and knowledgeable about any queries you have on a particular beer or wine.

Brilliant range of draught and bottled beers, both modern craft and traditional European. Huge selection of Belgian lambics in particular, and the US equivalents.

If you like weird and wonderful craft beers, ales and ciders this is the place to visit. A well stocked shop with friendly helpful staff. There's also a back bar for tasting some of these excellent beers.

If you're a craft beer connoisseur, go there. If you're curious to see what it is like, still go there. However, if you're into local ale or lager and after some filling grub, don't! It is very overpriced, cold, no atmosphere, their food comes from a noodle bar named "street" across the road. Wouldn't recommend unless you are a connoisseur.

Amazing selection of beer (including Belgian Lambics that are hard to get hold of elsewhere). Tap Room is great at the back with an excellent choice of draught beer. Pity they don't allow you to taste the beer that's on tap in the room, as they say they only sell small amounts and rotate. Ok, but perhaps a thimble full? Top place!

I love Beer Gonzo. They have a wonderful selection of beers, including Kernel (one of my favorites). There is a tap room in the back. The staff really know their stuff and are willing to help recommend suitable drinks.

Really love this place. Loads of craft ales, good advice, a tap room in the back and you can grab a growler (I didn't really get why it's called this) and take some draft home. And they have Beavertown (canned)!

I'm becoming quickly addicted to the sour beer they sell here, both in store and at the tap room out back. Such a lovely place with delicious beer and you can even order yummy vegan friendly Asian food from Street to be delivered in the beautiful little beer garden out back. It's earlsdon's best secret bar that looks like an unassuming shop. Highly recommended, not cheap but definitely worth every penny.

Visited Beer Gonzo today which is nestled on the end of Earlsdon high street the last shop before the large pub on the roundabout. Immediately impressed with the lay out and beers available. Easy to walk around and check out the different beers. The staff were great giving recommendations and suggestions and ended up leaving with a variety of pale ales, beers and lagers. Very large range of all types of beers local and further afield. At the back of the shop is a great little bar, great find in Coventry. Will most certainly be returning when not driving.

It looks like a small shop on the outside but on the inside is where it's amazing. Theres a beer shop in the front and a bar in the back. A great combination. They sell so many types of beer, it's incredible. I got this chocolate stout, it was brilliant. But I have to say the aesthetic of the shop was cool and the way the beers were laid out was great. They also put the alcohol percentages in front of the shelf where the bottles/cans are so that's a helpful indicator. I would definitely visit here again the next time I'm in town.

Great selection of beers if you're willing to wait. I was standing at the till for 8 minutes with no sign of a member of staff. I gave up in the end. I appreciate that you're running a bar as well but would it hurt to pop your head round the door to say "sorry for the wait. I'll be with you in a moment" Thoroughly frustrating experience.

Great selection of beer and a number of ciders. It also has a little known bar hidden away at the back with a number of beers on tap. Just be wary they give you the option of smaller measure's for a couple of reason firstly it lets you sample more of those on offer and secondly some of them have a serious kick. Just a heads-up, in the bar last orders are 20 past the hour, so if it closes at 2000 last orders are at 1920.

Not many places in the UK compare to Beer Gonzo for beer selection. The range is fantastic. I've had a few issues with some online orders and the customer service has been above and beyond. Thoroughly recommended.

Great selection of international and UK craft beer & ciders. The front shop is stacked with beers categorised mainly by country of origin and brewery. There are half a dozen fridges stocked by style which makes it easier to find a cold beer of a certain type. The Gonzo team (who also run Draper's bar and Inspire in Coventry) are very knowledgeable and proper beer connoisseurs. They specialise in Belgian beers, particularly geuse and lambics. At the rear of the shop there is a craft beer tap and lambic bar. They about have 16 different beers, usually 8 lambics/porters and 8 ales/IPAs. Which are available to drink in the bar itself in quantities from 1/3 to 1 pint measures. They also offer 32oz "Growlers" to take away. The choice of beers changes on a daily basis and there is always something different and interesting to try, along with many usual favorites. The bar doesn't offer food itself, but they have an arrangement with "Street", the Asian Food restaurant across the road who will deliver takeaways and snacks directly to Gonzo customers in the bar. Once or twice a month they offer beer tasting or "meet the brewer" evenings which are always popular and you get the chance to try some really unusual or rare beers. They take cash and/or contactless cards which makes paying for your beers worryingly easy.

If you want me to choose the only craft beer shop to visit in UK, this it the one.

The is a fantastic selection of beer to choose from, the staff are very helpful and they provide an excellent service. They even sent a case of beer for me to spain and my friend got it in perfect condition. Can not praise them enough!

I ordered a lot of beer (about 50L) from this site and had it delivered to my door in the US. All of my interactions were through Anthony, who was amazingly responsive to numerous emails from me and kept me in the loop when stock changed and/or products arrived that suited my taste. He even let me accumulate beer through a number of orders so I could save on shipping costs. Shipping beer from the UK to the US is, of course, not cheapt, but the large shipment and the good prices meant that I paid extremely reasonable rates for bottles that I can't get in the US. I am extremely pleased, and will certainly be ordering from this store in the future. A+ for both customer service and curated beer selection.
