cold chips cold kebab lamb was ok but overall disappointed sorry won't order again

I ordered the delivery to come for 21:00 it came at 20:00 by the time we sat down to eat the food tasted poor

asked for garlic sauce but got a different sauce which I didn't like. food was cold.

food was cold could not eat this I have been going to this place for years but won't be going back ever again as he wasn't willing to help and said this wasn't his problem as he was busy but said he cooked his food straight away and sends it straight out

portion size was shocking to say it was a large doner kebab, hmm questionable I used to love this takeaway now it just very expensive and you get very little what a shame

2 and a half hours in took them to deliver..and when they did it was cold under cooked

Waited 2.5 hours for delivery and was freezing cold. Hopefully be better next time as normally very good

Was ordered before they opened & was stated around 6:05 pm. It finally arrived at 7:50 pm flat cold

Ordered on a saturday night, as presumed busy. Really, really dissatisfied with this delivery. Ordered at 10:15, Just Eats estimated ETA 11:05 - 11:15, had I not called at 10:25 to check the delivery time I would have missed them as food arrived 10:30. What's the point of having an estimated time of arrival if your going to deliver food straight away. Complete waste of time if your being dishonest about the delivery time, yes... people like food to arrive as soon as possible, but they expect you to provide them with honest information in the first place.

Ordered at 21:40 and was still waiting at 11:30 called the takeaway and was told I would be the next delivery it would only be a matter of 10 minutes I didn’t receive the food until 00:20, I have 4* for the food quality as was red hot when delivered as if it had only been made then.

Came 3 hours late and the food was unseasoned and overcooked

Asked for a cheesy garlic bread. Sent one with a tomato base and knew about this before they set off as told me as soon as answered door. Hope when I ring tonight I will receive another free of charge.

Absolutely delicious! And I can’t thank the staff enough for being so caring, and helping me look after my little girl after she felt poorly. Can’t wait to order again. Thankyou!

This place hasn't changed in almost 3 decades. Simple food without fuss, sometimes looks like road kill, but very tasty.

Order came fast and was very tasty and hot.

I order from here quit abit but this time wasn’t great well the delivery time was early it was flat cold I had to warm it up in the oven not grate guys

Not ordered for a while until last week, excellent & early. This week back to normal late & virtually inedible, cold & late. Sad because they can obviously do great food.

The food was nice but for what I got for the price I paid was ridiculous 18 pound and it was in a medium to small tray and I didn't get everything I asked for I orderd what I got last night from a different takeaway and it cost about 12 to 13 pound and it went round 2 people so yeah I won't be ordering from there again .

Left a note in the comments box, no mushrooms on the calzone. It had mushrooms in it. No cheese on the chips.

Pizza was good but chips was a childs portion for £2.50 and no chip spice when requested so wasnt happy about that.

Great food as usual but my 14” pizza didn’t have the plastic table thing so my pizza was stuck to the lid.

Whilst the delivery was only 15 mins after the latest advised time, it was 2 hours from ordering, on a Sunday night. Food was cold when arrived.

I haven't oflrdered for a while due to a bad experience from here but I'm happy to say its back to the good old quality I was use to.

Worst chicken kebab I have ever had, sloppy soggy pitta part that wasn't soggy was stale.. shredded carrots?? What's that all about. GS used to do superb chicken kebabs. Never again 🤢

The worst takeaway I've ever eaten. 30 mins late (After being told 'It's on it's way' much earlier) When it arrived and I realised I had paid £25 for slop. Tiny kebabs, soggy bread, stale salad. Just the absolute worst. Called and asked for a refund and was told I needed to wait for someone to collect it and then go through Just Eat to get a refund. Forget it. Keep the money. Clearly that £25 more important than doing right by a customer.

Food arrived half an hour early which not happy about when I set a time delivery. Unfortunately the food was very poor especially for the price we paid. Nothing seemed fresh at all and looked like it had all been thrown together. Not happy at all with it and won't be returning. The delivery man was friendly. I'm not one to write bad reviews but felt on this occasion I had to.

Pizza was cold and dry, and the meat was black and burned. The salad looked old, and was brown. Disgusting!

Food was hot but 2 hours from order to delivery on a weekday. Always the same but previously put it down to the fact it was a weekend. When you order at 7:30 you don’t expect to be eating at 9:45pm and at the very least, customers should be told when ordering that you’re behind and be given the option to cancel. Every time I called it was “on its way”

Poor poor quality. Food arrived late and cold pizza nice but stuck to the bottom of the box. Kebabs came pre made in the pitta all wrapped in paper. I like it boxed and made how you wish. Won’t be ordering again

Placed order around 10 o'clock for a hour and half to a 1 hour and 40 minutes for then food to come late and undercooked!!!! There chilli sauce is chopped tomatoes from the tin by the looks of it with chilli powder added to it chips came paler then mj!!!! Worst food in selby

Have been a customer here for over 20 years. Excellent food, excellent service every time. Never once had anything to complain about.

Phoned up once my order was over 25 minutes late. The guy on the phone told me it’ll be on it’s way.. then said something like “she collected it” he then hung up. I made the order at about 21:00, the order was due to arrive between between 22:05-2225. It’s now gone 12:15 and still not arrived. Will phone up tomorrow and hopefully get a refund on my £26.90 order

As usual, lovely! Although I’m not keen on the mushrooms and onions that were on my pepperoni pizza.

We ordered pizza, is good but not the best one we ever had. However the burgers came plain, no sauce salad or cheese, only bread and meat, very disappointed with burgers…

The food is as good as ever! One of the best in selby, However I orderd at 5.20, for food to arrive at 6.45, it arrived at 8.05. I do like a late dinner! Not an early supper. Must try harder!.

The Lamb tasted of nothing but salt, kebab was tiny even though a large was ordered, sauce missing, chips cold and horrible, only thing alright was the pizza, and it took 2 hours to be delivered, waste of £30.

Food arrived 15 minutes. Late pizza was burnt everything was cold, not worth the money golden skewer have gone downhill badly.

Delivery time was poor. Drink was warm. Food was tasty but not as hot as I'd like. Food Delivery bags are the norm now but they don't use them. It would help. Also keep the drinks away from the hot food. Delivery basics.

Delivery driver was late and dropped food on floor luckily box stayed shut

Waited nearly 2 hours. No apologies from the shop when I rang to ask where it was at 1hr 30 mins or the delivery driver when it arrived. Got a notification when I’d already been waiting an hour saying it was going to be even later. Estimate time when ordered was 45 Minutes

Disappointed it doesn't give the option to add both chilli sauce and garlic sauce to wraps and kebabs. Pitta fell apart when I tried to lift it so most of kebab ended up all over the table. Also didn't read the small print on freebies when you order over a certain amount, if you don't write and request what freebie you are entitled to in the comments box at the end of the order then you Won't receive it. Most other takeaways automatically add them to your order for the customer, so if you don't add it yourself you will NOT get it.

Excellent food, excellent service, great delivery time. The reason I'm leaving a bad review is the fact that delivery charges have gone up to £4, even in Selby, which is only a 1/2 mile distance from my house. I know fuel costs have gone up considerably, but really?!!! We're ALL suffering increased expenses and financial hardships at the moment, and the last thing we need is extortionate delivery charges. Sadly. Golden Skewer has had my FINAL food order!

Veggie burger was the worst takeaway I’ve had, shocking for the money

The food arrived really early and we ordered at opening time. However, the food was ice cold, chips included. This led us to believe that everything had been pre cooked way before opening time as we ordered at 5pm on the dot. The salad was limp and grey and some of it was physically inedible. I ordered a lamb kebab and the lamb was freezing cold, chewy and tough. Wouldn’t order again from here despite how quickly the food arrived - it was clear as to why it arrived so fast. 0/10 for food quality.
