this place is so good pls go here. best place ever. don't believe any of the bad reviews on here. my food came really quickly and the lovely delivery driver was so sweet. the food tastes rlly nice. I recommend the honey ribs, Singapore fried rice and salt/pep chips if its your first time going to this place.

Best chinese takeaway in Manchester

This is really really bad. Served us rancid chicken (you know that smell right?) which is just unforgivable. I should have walked out when my feet stuck to the floor as I picked my order up. All three of us had upset stomachs after this. The salt and pepper chicken was so dry and re-cooked that it disintegrated when you bit into it. The foyer has a calendar up from 2020 and is full of storage boxes. I wasn’t even able to get a full refund from Uber eats and now I have submitted a dispute they don’t allow me to leave a rating on there! Avoid at all costs.

Absolutely delicious. Second only to my grandmothers Jamaican food. Absolutely DELICIOUS. Ascended me above the clouds and I can’t believe they lost a star.

Placed an order on Thursday and found that apart from being overpriced food was cold. Friday I went back to Miramar which is less than a mile away and we enjoyed our Chinese much more than the day before

Save your money - go elsewhere. I live in Stockport and that was by far the worst fritta I’ve ever had, batter just fell off and paper thin. The ribs were dry and the mains had veg cut so big, the whole order just felt rushed. Sorry £43 hard earned money on someone that didn’t work hard for mine.

Our usual haunt was closed for New Year’s Day so we thought we’d give the Golden Sea a try - wish we had read the reviews on Tripadvisor before we ordered; possibly the worst (and most expensive) takeaway we have had in a very long time. The food was dry and over-cooked with goopy sauces, greasy starters and generally lacking in flavour. With so much choice out there, this is definitely one to avoid. Such a disappointment.

Very good and fast at delivery the battered king prawn dish in garlic and chilli is amazing i order that quite often with noodles its the best and prawn dumpling is delicious food is always fresh 👍

The fried rice was disgusting and had no flavour and the prawns were soggy it was not worth it at all.

These scammers took £43 from me and after trying to call and getting engaged tones i drove upto the shop to confront them and it was closed I spoke to the peaple next door and they informed me that it is no longer trading DO NOT ORDER YOU WILL NOT BE ABLE TO GET YOUR MONEY BACK

I paid for an order and it said it will arrive soon and when we called he said it was CLOSED but he still took the money I am very angry. Their service makes me SICK.

Poor quality, very expensive and put the phone down when I asked for a refund! The ‘prawn’ toast had no prawns, spring rolls were missing filling. Spare ribs very dry (stale and microwaved). Sweet and sour sauce was just like runny jam, and chips inedible. Not to mention prawn crackers- see the picture. When I ordered I assumed that the high price (double other Chinese takeaways) was because of the quality- but I am very disappointed. Upon calmly phoning to explain and request a refund, I was asked to take the food to the shop myself, as their delivery drivers are expensive! When I explained this was a breach of lockdown regulations, she put the phone down on me!! Please don’t waste your money ordering from Golden Sea.

This restaurant is an absolute scam they took 39 pound out of my friends account and said it was on the way to just eat an hour later then another hour later we still had no food and the restaurant did not anewer and just eato said the only way to get a refund was to contact the restaurant which did not answer the scam artisSt's should be stopped it is an absolute joke

Really bad food, would never go here again. The salt and pepper chicken was greasy and bland, the curry and sweet and sour sauce had a strange taste to them. And the prawn crackers weren't crunchy. We ordered crispy noodles - what came were noodles which looked like they'd just been taken out of a super Noodle packet and not even cooked. I don't know if this is just the style of their crispy noodles? But I've never had crispy noodles like this from any other Chinese. Couldn't eat them at all. To top it off, we paid double the price for this than what we'd pay at any other Chinese!

Considering it cost more than a small house and we waited two hours for some rice, toast and sauce I was more than underwhelmed. For the price, I expected more than soggy toast, cold flavourless rice and sauce that smells like my nan's farts. Furthermore, as someone on just eat wisely said, the prawn crackers sadly lacked any crack. Cheers, sons crying.

Went here after trying some of friends food which they had delivered The place is old fashioned and extensive like most Chinese places are with their massive menus I personally see my self as somebody who sticks to the hot Chinese classics or medium I went for a lite bite takeaway with my friends and ate inside on the waiting area with friends The salt and peppers selection, the wings cooked in a wok at high heat with some oil for a suculant bite and fresh garlic and red small chillies worked at treat The place on initial look looked outrated and simple but this isnt something which I say singles out them as their food is incredible from the occasion I went and before orders with friends The salt and pepper chips were made properly with salt clearly distributed around the chips and not slobbed to mop up in a corner like some places where you can tell they rushed it Top marks and will be back very soon

Ordered omelette and chips, which was £8.30 and sweet and sour chicken which was £8.70. The omelette was either re-heated several times or it was egg powder used and not real eggs as it crumbled - for £8.30 I would expect real eggs! The chips had obviously been re-fried and were all hard and unpalatable! The chicken was 'ok' nothing special though. This chinese has massively inflated prices and the food is either rubbish or ok. I wont be ordering from this chinese again.

I ordered the szechuan beef, and my partner had the beef in black pepper sauce. We had our meals with a portion of fried rice, soft noodles and salt and pepper chips. The Chinese food was terrific. We'd actually go as far to say it ranks among the best we've had in and around Manchester. The chips we're a bit of a let down however. The price was a little more than you'd normally pay for a comparable Chinese take away, but definitely worth it. The only other negative was the wait for the food. All in all, 4 stars seems fair.

Ordered two all in one trays. Waited for delivery which was late and then cancelled for so I had to ring the restaurant up to see where my order was and they said they knocked on the address given but they didn't they got the wrong street so had to wait for them to come back out with my food. When the food got here it was cold n looked liked they rushed the order to get it back out to me n used all the leftovers that they could find in the shop. The chicken balls were like eating a dry sponge n the chicken was that tough I bet when they put the chicken in the oven it blew the gas out and let itself back out of the oven, the chips were that hard they could of knocked on the door with them. The best thing about the order was the free prawn crackers only because they didn't make them!

Went and ordered a gorgeous meal last night. Started with Crispy Duck with pancakes. Then sweet and sour chicken and chicken Chow Mein. All was really nice. Will definately be back.

The delivery driver Shaz was ridiculously unprofessional and drove up and down the street beeping the horn and swearing, all because he had to wait a few minutes for some change. Will be coming down to the shop to see you personally shaz. Get a new job today if you know whats good for you..

Food here is great but delivery service is an absolute joke. I have ordered from here many times and it always takes longer than stated. Today I ordered and it said my food would arrive at 22:05, the restaurant then changed this to 22:15 however the meal didn't arrive till almost 22.50 and was slightly cold on arrival.

never ever had a problem from hear the food has always been spot on until the 14th November. we ordered special chow main no chicken and in black bean sauce the only thing my husbands eats. it was disgusting the pork had that much fat on that there was more fat then meat also had lots of fat no pork. so we thought 1 mad meal in all time we’ve been using it untill we dishes mine up witch was pork curry and to are disappointment there was more fat yet again then meat. the salt and pepper chicken wings were over cooked and dry. it was the worse Chinese I’ve ever ordered it all went in the bin so £25 to put in the bin I wish I’d just put the money straight in the bin as it’s put us right off we won’t be ordering again unfortunately as it always been spot on but this really was enough to put us off. very much doubt that they will refund me or try to put this right. not happy at all with this place

Found metal wire in Singapore fried rice which was nearly swallowed, called for a full refund and was refused. Unacceptable service and hygiene standards. Will not be ordering again !

The delivery man was very rude and aggressive at the door. He said it was unacceptable that he had rang 3 times and when I looked it was 3 times within the space of 1 minute. Very rude man, puts me off ordering because of this particular delivery man.

Appreciate that it was a busy Saturday night but contact to say the food would be late would have been helpful. Staff on the phone were polite and prawn crackers complimentary.

won’t be ordering again from here. never got to taste the food as it never arrived. placed an order at 7.30 was meant to be delivered at 8.30. which was an hour I didn’t mind as I know some of the good takeaways can get busy. received a phone call at 8.20 from the restaurant to let us know they were really busy and they would be able to deliver our food for at least another 1 and half hours. that would of made it nearly 10pm. when asked why they had took the order they did not give an answer so order was cancelled and won’t be using again.

Ordered a quarter duck and got a rediculously small amount !, enough to make 2 pancakes at best 😑 this is the second time also; previously weve ordered a half duck and they gave us very little, upon ringing the restaraunt and telling them the problem they said theyd accidentally mistaken it for a quarter !... accidents happen so we gave them the benefit of the doubt but to happen twice in as many orders it seems whatever amount of duck you order they cut it in half !! May do other good food but recomend not to order the duck unless your on an expeneive diet
