Golden Mile Cafe in Blackpool

the staff were rude as my husband is hard of hearing and they were making a fool of him i went back to counter to change my tea to one without sugar and they were trying to say he ordered 2 with sugar when i clearly heard him say one with sugar and one without i will never go back there attitude as appalling

Cuando pregunté por mi guarnición de ensalada, decía “servido con guarnición de ensalada” y me dijeron “no todos la quieren”…. . ¡Y eso fue el final de eso! Apesta a orina en el borde también porque está al lado del baño de hombres... . ¡Vaya con Greggs!

Awful. The worst chips and gravy we have ever had. The chips were so old, we left almost all of them. We couldn’t have the gravy, it was watery and greasy. We will never return. Don’t waste your money.

Food was edible but not much for the price. £5.99 fir a pathetic piece of fish and a handful of chips. £4.99 for a single sausage and a handful of chips (same as kids meal that came with sauce st 49p less ) I would have liked gravy or beans but couldn’t justify the extra expense

Felt really unsafe here. Less than 50% of adults were wearing masks, the track and trace system was via a text service- we did it whilst in the queue but wasn’t asked if we had done it before entering, lots of people in the queue who we saw hadn’t done it. No social distancing inside. Never saw any staff members cleaning down and slot machines and games were still right next to one another, surely they could be spaced out or put out of use to maintain social distancing measures?

Went for breakfast with my husband and 2 teenage children. Sat at a vacant table before it was cleared. Was screamed at from behind the counter by the vile woman with red plaits that we couldn't sit there as the table had not been sanitised. Queued to order food where she proceeded to yell at the poor girl who had plated up a breakfast wrong. So much so the poor girl was almost in tears. I have never encountered such a vile, rude person in my life. Had I not had my children with me it would have been a totally different story and she would have been told a few home truths. The food was gorgeous and served by a polite young man.

Read previous reviews of the "rude" woman with the red hair. I didn't think she was rude at all. She ran a tight ship on trying times and everyone knows where they stand. Got 6 meals all were cooked really well. My meat and potato pie looked and tasted home made. Cheap enough and that woman! She was a wonder and without her I think the place would fall apart

Chips being kept warm in a plastic storage tub all day, barely cooked and the chef thought it hygienic time be serving the fish onto a plate with his hands. There’s a reason it’s cheap... A shame as the arcade is brilliant.

I arrived and there were 3 members of staff a young girl and boy and an older creature with red hair and a bandana, the man- who was a older gentleman, in front was taking especially long to o order- it wasn’t his fault she was rushing him and giving him far too much information to process, when it was my turn to order she walked off, I asked if I could be served, she replied ‘I’ve just had an order 5 breakfasts so either you be patient and wait or you don’t’, she then began to clap her hands together aggressively stating ‘I’m the manager my hands my rules’, then walked away and said ‘don’t know why customers have to be rude’- I told her it was her that was rude, she said she was being rude to me because ‘you are not following government guidelines’- I asked her what I had done and she said ‘your not being patient’, I told her that this was nothing to do with government guidelines. I ordered my food and then walked over to the fridge to LOOK at what drinks there was, she began to shout ‘stop stop stop read the sign’, she was the rudest women I’ve ever met working in hospitality, the younger ones working there were clearly uncomfortable you could see it on their faces, I also witnessed whilst I was there her being incredibly rude to another family they walked out before even being served, and then the family who I was sat next to stated that they had being also spoke to rudely. Awful awful women.

Due to lockdown things have changed especially customers patience, we went twice for food and though a slightly slower service than usual, it was hot and good, their big breakfast was good and tasty, did have to wait 20 minutes for it as fresh cooked, good value and plenty of it, will go back later in the year if open, drinks ready at the beginning, food is brought to a well cleaned table and chairs

my partners wallet was stolen at this cafe, left on the counter for a second while i turned around to get napkins. And someone behind the counter has taken the wallet. The woman with red hair was adamant i didnt bring a wallet to the till, which I know is not true, manager of the arcades was very little help, the cctv didn't cover the counter of the cafe!

As a manger of canteen, i would personal sack all 3 members of staff that day, the food was vile! Why it took 15 mins to plate a small and large breakfast When it was all there to be seen on the hot hold counter, Once i received the rubber food and I questioned them they could not provide me With temperatures or how long this food was on hot hold for. We was then sprayed with a chemical by a seriously rude member off staff who was cleaning the table next to us Only the spray covered me and my partner and our food! only To be told no it has NoT am nowhere ffffing near you, Even thou you could seen spray on are arms food and table and smell it on are arms. Asked to speak to a manger to pointed towards a fat man in a dirty black shirt picking his nose! Worse place i have ever been to in my life Would not return Ever

Noticed a lot of similar reviews so decided to post-We arrived at the golden mile after a two hour drive for a family day out and decided to start there. It was our first visit to somewhere like this since the virus happened. It was obviously very loud and busy which is to be expected but this clearly put the staff under some sort of pressure that made them feel they could speak to customers however they chose. We stopped at the cafe for a coffee where a woman with red hair served me and she was fine until I went to sit at the table my partner had got us when she came running over with a bad attitude straight away to tell us we had to move as there were two of us sitting on a table for 4. We explained we had two children with us who were playing in the arcade near by us and could hardly get the words out when she started shouting and said she didn’t care we had to move and then continued to shout across to the whole cafe that my partner wasn’t allowed to be sat holding his own Reusable water bottle. I explained we had just got out of the car from a two hour drive so that was why he was just carrying it around. Her response was “YOU ONLY SPENT £1.90 ON A COFFEE love” screaming across the cafe whilst storming off Back to the kitchen muttering god knows what else as she went clearly trying to embarrass me some how. Absolutely appalling to be greeted with such an attitude from the second we went to sit down. Personally I work in customer service and would never treat anyone differently for the amount they spent. We’d already stopped for food half way there and were just really tired and in need of coffee or I actually would have bought food. We left instantly and told the rest of our family who were actually going to meet us at the cafe for their dinner not to bother.

Visited here during our day out to Blackpool, staff not very friendly. Food was below average, ok if you like a greasy cafe.

We stumbled across the cafe whilst getting out of the rain. The food was amazing! Sausage, chips and curry sauce was to die for! My hubby had sausage, mash and onion gravy. Portion size was fantastic! Great plate full. We got pudding too. Syrup sponge and custard and sticky toffee pud and custard!amazong thick layer of sauce and super soft and fluffy sponge. we would definitely come back when in the area again.

Another visit to this place and prices very reasonable and fresh to order Great staff and friendly service and food amazing Highly recommend for all

Didn’t eat in here but played on the arcades and had a game of bowling. Will definitely visit again next time we’re in Blackpool.

Looks a little grotty and rough but great food and even better prices and quick too, well worth a stop My 2 yr old had not eaten all weekend but loved his nuggets and chips from here

Been every time we come to Blackpool and have always loved the food and service and prices is well worth it normally have jacked potatoes or fish and chips with peas and mint sauce

Good for a cuppa whilst others play the arcade. Food looked ok but not to my taste. Doesnt stay open late so more a day time til 6 or 7 time so those in arcade after that cant get a drink - would be good though. Toilet facitities were ok

Came here for breakfast before a long day at the pleasure beach. The staff were friendly and were attentive to my husbands dairy allergy. I had a breakfast special and it was delicious and my husband had a sausage and egg barm. We left with full and contented bellies! :)

Staff here and the amusements are so lovely the nicest, chatty, making jokes helping out with everything and actually asking if you need anything else. Food was yummy and cheap too definitely our no favourite place.

Came in as the cafe is dog friendly. Wish I never bothered the woman spoke to me like absolute rubbish trying to bully me by shouting because I asked to many questions about the meal. It's a good job I'm a strong person and stood my ground was really nice having a full blown shouting match. This woman needs to go on a customer service course and learn some respect for people I never spoke out of turn and waited my turn to ask questions before I ordered. I'm sure at some point she swore at me. I will be taking this further. AVOID AVIOD AVIOD scruffy Murphy's is dog friendly go there. Also there staff a nice and polite.

We always eat here when were in Blackpool. The food is good and value for money, the staff are cheerful and willing to help you if you need it. Would recommend eating here to anyone.

Don't listen to others feedback but personally the food is amazing especially the chips and would highly recommend to visit and have Only thing not happy was small plastic cup of milk £1.29...rip off should gone shop But food and staff amazing! !

Dropped in here for a bite to eat before returning home, and was not dissapointed. Good food, lovely staff, nice price and fairly clean. Oh and the meals were really good value.

Went for tea before the lights turned on. The chips were dry and tasted stale. Not recommended. Harry Ramsden's the next time!

absolutely uncalled for,the female staff member was a bully towards me, all my family even said i was spoken to like dirt , all i was doing was reading the "wrong menu" she humiliated me, never going back in there and if you have anybody with you whom is fragile or may have metal issues i recommend you dont go either, she was a bully, just for looking at a menu on the wall

I've had many meals here before, most recently last week the large fish and chips (it was thin I wouldn't call it large) but with chip shop chips and bread and butter. My kind of meal!

Came to Blackpool for a dayout with family and my father in law was dying for a full english breakfast, then I remembered there was a cafe that used to be Mr Ts. Lovely service, lovely food. Partner has a dairy allergy and the manager/owner? Made sure that nothing touched my partners food as she did it herself. Usually don't get that kind of treatment anywhere! Full bellies all around, thank you!

My partner and I go here every year when in Blackpool, we called in this week twice while on holiday and the fish and chips are fresh and hot, reasonable prices and Staff very friendly. If in Blackpool here is worth going to.

We wanted a quick place to eat close to the amusements...little did we know there was somewhere in there to eat. I had chips and curry sauce with a Diet Coke for less than £3 and the chips were freshly made and lovely.

If your looking for traditional food that’s hot and tasty this is the place for you!

We were struggling to find somewhere to eat with it being quite early in the morning, popped in here and had a lovely breakfast each, will return!

Asked if they would put some water in babys bottle and she said No, think thats absolutely disgusting, how they have any custom with such bad attitudes is beyond me, will be complaining, sack this poor excuse of a women and get staff who know how to speak to customers

Pop in for a drink and was happy about the service and if you want a meal it seems like there a nice choice and at affordable prices as well so if your stuck for somewhere to eat just try there.

We called in here on the off chance that we could get something to eat with the dogs with us, we were very welcomed and the staff were very attentive to us they also got us a bowl of water for the dogs, the foods was smashing that good and tasty that we called back again 2 days later.

I got a takeaway fish and chips from this cafe which is located inside the Golden Mile Amusements arcade on the promenade. I thought the service was very friendly and the meal was excellent value for money, at only £4.99 for fish and chips and a bottled drink. Although I chose the takeaway option, this cafe also offers sit down meals and the menu was large with a bit of something to suit everybody.

Popped in for dinner over new year period, great food at great prices, nice and clean wee café within the amusement arcade

My son had fish and chips. We had soup to start then a roast dinner followed by desert. Not only was the food nice. The lady serving - Tracey was 😊 lovely. Very friendly would eat here again.

Came over to see family and called in for a drink like we have done in previous months with 2 dogs. Told by member of staff would need to sit furthest away from cafe..... not a problem.

this is very good value for your money if a little noisy from the machines how ever the food is good and staff are helpful

this cafe is in the golden mile amusements.most of the food is homemade.the food served is excellent value.they also do kids meals at a cheaper rate.

Después adelantaran al hoyo s ** t enfrente (isla de coral) porque teníamos 2 pequeño king Charles cavaliers con nosotros encontramos este lugar, y a nuestros perros delicia son bienvenidos. Personal amable y servicial, tanto en la arcada y cafetería que sirve comida caliente y fabulosas las comidas principales están a menos de 5 libras. El personal es realmente muy servicial y nos arreglamos un par de horas en pasar el dinero ganado aquí duro en bowling, máquinas y una comida. Ganador ganador para un grupo grande de edades desde 1 a 73 y dos perros pequeños. Muchas gracias y nos vemos en nueva ll año ya que no eran bienvenidos con nuestros perros. Espero que este es el lugar en el lado opuesto de la carretera a la isla de coral.

Plenty of amusement arcades so bring plenty of money, it does get very busy but well worth the walk along the sea front.

We had a groupon voucher for fish & chips here so took our 2 sons along and we really enjoyed it. It's inside an arcade area and is a cafe style place and not a restaurant but the staff were really friendly and we just enjoyed everything about our visit. We had 2 fish and chips, one childs sausage and chips and a baked potato with cheese and tuna. Our eldest son was glad they had an alternative to fish and chips (although he likes them too). Baked potatoes is one of his favorite meals and it came well loaded with tuna and cheese so he wasn't disappointed. The fish and chips weren't a huge portion but for us just perfect.

After walking around for a good hour trying to find somewhere that didn't have a queue out of the door with the fireworks and everything else on, my partner suggested we tried this cafe and it was the best idea of the night. The food was lovely, the staff managed to keep on top of the floods of people that were coming in and did it all with a smile. Will definitely be eating here again

I was away with my son. It was Friday 26.9.16 about 7pm one and a half hours before the fireworks. Everywhere in Blackpool was busy all the food outlets everywhere. My son noticed the cafe in the golden mile arcade. They were absolutely run off there feet. Just need to say those ladies did a fantastic job, worked through the queue efficiently, managed to keep on top of table cleaning,food was leaving the kitchen promptly nice and hot. There was a good choice of food and to say they were made busy we didn't have to wait that long, the lady serving the food to tables was apologetic all I could do was praise them, they really did need more staff on, the poor girls where rushing around like mad. Have to say each one of them were absolute stars. The food was delicious.

Meals were to a great standard and staff were nice and friendly and had great patience with two very over excited kids lol

Since we had taken our dog with us, for a day trip to the coast, the places we could eat were a little restricted. We decided to visit the cafe, which has a take-away section for fish & chips, with an outside seating area. The fish shop was busy, which suggested to us that it must be worthy of a visit.When we got our order, the only positive thing I could say about it was the breadcake my son had (for his chip butty) was ok. The rest of the 'offerings' were disgusting!I order fish & breadcake - the fish came in the palest batter I'd ever seen & was undercooked (it wasn't fresh, either). The bit I had tasted as if it had been cooked in old oil (I'm retching even now at the thought!)My husband chose pie & peas - I've never seen a pie coloured grey! He ate about half but gave up as most of the contents was slop!The staff had no customer service whatsoever, they even charged a customer 5p when he asked for an extra tray - he'd spent nearly £20 on his order!The positive I can give on this review is - my dog seemed to enjoy the fish & grey pie slop, but then again she hasn't eaten horse droppings in her time!

Not far from the hotel, the food was hot & plentyful, the staff were polite especially to a picky customer like me!
