not enough meat in house special chow mein and the BBQ sauce on ribs is very tangy. was edible however wouldn't order from here again

Been ordering here for a few years now and the food has been consistently amazing. Hands down one of the best Chinese takeaways in the country, I’m seriously constantly impressed.

I have been ordering from Golden Hill for many years now and they continue to be the best. The delivery is prompt, food 'piping hot'🔥 staff courteous and professional and the free bottle of lemonade is always welcome. I always give a tip for good service and the manager is absolutely fantastic when it comes to sorting out any issues with my order. I wouldn't go anywhere else for my chinese and I will continue to recommend Golden Hill to my family and friends. Keep up the good work😊

chips were hard and cold,spring rolls undercooked but cold and the beef was bland. had ordered previously for the first time and decided to order again but was really poor

I'll be honest their chicken curry tasted nothing like chicken, the curry sauce had a chemical taste. the only thing that tasted like chicken was the sesame prawn toast which if you haven't gathered shouldn't taste like chicken it's supposed to be prawn... Big let down tonight. The only redeeming factor is that their crispy shredded beef actually tasted like beef, chips were cooked in oil that didn't taste fresh at all. In all honesty avoid this place. Go to golden boat or kingstanding Chinese there ALOT!!!! better. I only went here cause both golden boat and kingstanding Chinese was shut. I'm glad I got discount from Uber eats cause this place really let us down tonight. Most of it went in the bin, will never order from here ever again.

Best Chinese around. Don’t typically order Chinese takeaways as they aren’t very good in general, but this one sent out piping hot fresh food and proper veg and chicken, not that veg they put in the microwave elsewhere…

Chips were nice. Food was not very hot. Beef a bit chewy. No peas and not alot of onions. No option for mushrooms either. Sauce was very thick. Almost like they had rushed cooking the food using last bits. Doubt will use again tbh

Golden Hill Chinese Set Meal, chips rice curry, Mixed meat Chow mein and the much-longed for Crab Claws x 5. Good big portions in trays but the food quality wasn't very good. Very salty, I had requested less salt and oil, doctors advice! More quantity than quality type Chinese. Big blocks of pork meat, no taste, hardly any bean sprouts or peas. A few king prawns, and average stodgy bulky foodh. Ordered a can of ginger beer, NO drink, got a refund! Disappointed, I had saved up for ages to afford this rare Chinese! Oh well. First and last time we will ever order from here the curry was like a thick brown jelly absolutely revolting and had no flavour, fryed rice looked like someone had just thrown scrambled egg on it and the chicken balls were over cooked with a thick batter that was tough to bite most of it ended up in the bin total waste of money 🤢

i,m very disappointed inn food service and standards i,m normally used to get from this restaurant however on this occasion i couldn't eat the food and my family was leave from unsatisfactory with food quality the food was over cooked and very very salty.

Ridiculous, had to wait outside in the cold for our food for 2 hours. Was told constant lies that food was coming when all I wanted was the truth. On the phone they told me to shutup I was absolutely appalled. The food was mediocre & the wait was NOT worth it. Absolutely catastrophic & disgusting service. The two hour delay really ruined our plans, this company seems to be really selfish. They should’ve been honest & we would’ve been able to plan our evening around it. I seriously didn’t understand the constant need to lie as we were outside in the cold for 2 bloody hours and could’ve simply gone back home if they didn’t keep saying the driver will arrive shortly. How were these guys able to add a complimentary drink an hour later if the driver had already left??? And on the driver, the lady kept saying she can’t communicate with the driver & couldn’t give us his contacts and left us clueless. Eventually she did communicate with him but the communication with this driver was again, absolutely appalling. If I could I would rate this a MINUSSSS TENNNN but I can’t so you guys get a 1. THE WORST PLACE IVE EVER BEEN TO, THE WORST SERVICE EVER. please I hope you guys don’t ever order from here. I had to write this just to help another person craving Chinese. Highly MEDIOCRE. They don’t know how to have good service at all. They really should reconsider running a business. Foul company.

Absolutely disappointed with the lack of care and extremely unprofessional customer service the lady who answers the phone to take orders (who will be named) has 0 customer service skills. She constantly makes up her own rules and tells many lies. It’s a massive shame as I have been ordering from this shop since It opened, prior to her even working there. Just beyond shocking how you can treat a customer let alone a regular customer this way !! The fact that I was calm and collective throughout and was not shown any form of empathy from this women, it really just goes to show what type of people the restaurant hires.

This has to be the worst Chinese ive ever had, both myself and my painter were staying in Travelodge around the corner, food looked ropey but both of us have woken up in the middle of the night with severe gut ache and diahorea , i have cramps all day and feeling sick , i had ribs , chow mien and duck minging

Been ordering from this Chinese since they have opened, I called up to make my usual order and the price was substantially higher so I queried it. I asked to speak to the main guy and the lady come back on the phone saying he wasn’t there. But I heard her speaking to him. I asked why is she lying about him being there and she then said he is busy so can’t come to the phone. He eventually came to the phone and I could hear her being rude. Saying just speak to her because I don’t know what she is on about. I will not be ordering again.

It’s was my first time order food in this restaurant and to be honest it’s was so horrible, I didn’t like nothing, the rice didn’t have salt, the chicken was hard to eat, the mushroom it wasn’t good, the worst Chinese food that I eat in my life, nothing was good just the drink that I order was ok I’m not gonna order no more in this restaurant Disappointed ☹️

Food was OK and delivery time not bad, HOWEVER the chow mein was missing and when we called them we thought they'd offer to get it out for us which would of been fine , but lady on the phone just told us we'll get a free one next time... which isn't good enough and is very annoying to be told when you pay £30 for your meal and you're missing the main part. We insisted they deliver again and she agreed in the end.
