When my food got here it was all cold and some of the items was missing would not recommend

Very tasty only a minor point the soup was more salty than I like but I wholeheartedly recommend them.

The noodles tasted burnt and the sauce wasn't as tasty as last time. Really really disappointed. Like the fact that my request for no vegetables on the satay were acquiesced anf had plenty of beef but...... as taste goes... nah jist not it.

Late. Not overly warm when arrived.

Very high quality only one slight down was the Char sui was cut so-small i needed a magnifier to find it and being so small and the unique flavour was lost.

When ordering I left a note asking for no onions or vegetables in one of the dishes, when it arrived it came with onions and vegetables, when I called, the person who answered had a poor attitude speaking disrespectfully to me, until someone spoke to him and then he stated we would have the food replaced, when the replacement arrived the noodles were hard and crispy appearing uncooked! Very disappointed!

Was missing curry sauce but apart from that can’t complain. Second time ordering from here and it did not disappoint. Very nice food and will be ordering again. Best Chinese I’ve had for some time

the meal was bland. The mixed fried rice at £8.40 was really expensive, it was supposed to be in a Large tray, this was a standard size for other takeaway restaurants. At £30 for 3 containers of food, and the blandness, this was definitely very overpriced. Will definitely not order from here again.

I HIGHLY do NOT recommend ordering here at all. To begin with, i orderd their "Golden Hill House Special Fried Rice" for £8.10. It was very mid, had 2 pieces of chop suey, few pieces of chicken, a few peas, almost no egg and about 2 tiny prawns. I strongly do not recommend the "Spare Ribs with Chilli & Pepper Salt" they are £8.80, which is surprisingly expensive for ribs and dont even get me started on the quality of the ribs. First of all, I dont know who they are trying to fool, there is no spice at all, so I dont know why they stressed themselves to include chilli and pepper in the description. The ribs are skinny and tiny, i received about 4 sharp bones instead of ribs, do i look like i want to sharpen my teeth? do i look like your dog? Why are u delivering me sharp bones instead of meat? And the ribs itself had little to no meat on them, they looked like the animal they came from was underweight before they slaughtered it for selling. It also looked like someone fed their dog the ribs and gave me the remains. Another dish I am not keen on recommending to people is the "Chicken with Chilli & Pepper Salt" for £7.90. Again this is another dish I'd say you shouldnt even bother ordering and save your money. Firstly, is the chilli and pepper in the room with us? There was just onions and bell peppers all over, trying to cover up the fact that they had eaten half of my chicken before delivering it, there were a few soggy chunks of chicken and then a few mini pieces which looked like dust particles, and the presentation was disappointing. The delivery said it would take anywhere between 35 minutes and 50 minutes, but it took 1 hour and 20 minutes, by that time i started to lose hope and believed that the driver decided to take my food home and eat it for themselves. I called to report the nonsensical quality of food i received and the guy who answered said that its not their fault, and they bought the food like that and prepared it. If you want to get a chinese, this is NOT the place to go for. Im sure you will find a better chinese food place elsewhere, so I strongly advise against ordering here unless you want to waste your money.

ordered food tonight and as I'm eating my vegetable chow mein I found a broken skewer in amongst the noodles. the prawn toast was cold and soggy

The ribs were not worth it for almost 8 pounds. They were tiny and had barely any meat on them, as if someone ate them and left the remains. The special fried rice was average for £8.10, and the amount of chicken was not worth it for almost £8.

I don’t really like Chinese food but I can be persuaded to eat it. It just wasn’t that great. The rice wasn’t fluffy. The dumplings were a bit tough and the dishes just bland. Sorry !

Unfortunately noodles in chow mein were uncooked, there was no filling in one of vegetables spring rolls, and there were some black pieces in chicken skewers which looked like leftovers form burned meat.

Szechuan Chicken Dead. Sauce prices Wild. Egg Rice was only positive. No prawn crackers cus only spent £22. Cheeky boy knows he’s expensive too.

Delivery was late BUT it’s Friday night and they came a long way out. The food was hot and probably the best Chinese I’ve had for a while. Will definitely order again.

rang the restaurant,they said nothing we can do I think their attitude is very bad and when it finally came it was not very hot 😞

Our order never arrived. When I rang to find out where it was they lied and said it was ready and waiting to be collected by the courier. I rang back half an hour later and they then informed me that the food had not even been cooked.

Lovely food, always enjoy having takeaway from The Golden Hill. The portion sizes are good and the food always tastes fresh and delicious. The only downside with our order was that it totalled over £50 and we got none of the amenities besides prawn crackers.

satay sauce was thin, watery and tasteless. chicken was dry in the salt and chilli chicken . Black bean sauce was very spicy.

the food was cold and burnt would not recommend

I have been using this takeaway for about 20 years mostly because it is the only Chinese that will deliver to our area. The last few times we have had upset stomach's the day after and put it down to coincidence. As I am dieting, only she had the Chinese. This time she had a bad stomach all next day. Now driving to the next nearest Chinese and will only come back if the reviews start picking up.

beef was really chewy, salt and pepper chips had no flavour to them ( was a carton of normal chips pretty much ) , curry sauce was very oily :( overall not impressed

Chow mein noodles were overcooked and too tough for my child to eat. The mixed platter starter box, the seaweed was soggy. Not crispy like seaweed is supposed to be. Delivery was nearly 20 mins after the last time in the time slot and only updated when I chased up. Very poor on all fronts.

order came 1 hour 35 mins after ordering, food was cold, we had to warm it up, and it was to salty to eat, so we had to leave it and bin it, we ordered from these a few times and always been OK,

food was inedible looks like it was last order of the night and it was thrown together. over powered with garlic, ribs all fat and bone 2 pieces of chicken in the whole of the chow mean. Will not be recommending or ordering again. shop was closed when order arr8ved so couldn't complain. complained to just eat and nothing done. Food went in bin not even fit for a dog

The salt and pepper chips were burned black and the less burned ones tasted awful. We aren't sure what item did it but we all felt awful the next day.

Definitely the place to go for Chinese food. You can't beat them 😁

We ordered the beef chow main and unfortunately it was burnt and very dry. The spring rolls tasted like oil only. The sweet and sour pork was tasty but rice is an extra.

2 hours for this to get to me… driver said he was “speeding” but yet took half an hour to get to us😂😂

Food is always great (especially the Beef & Cashew Nuts in Yellow Bean Sauce - amazing!), and alsways delivered on time by a terrific chap.

Arrived within timeframe but food was not great. Half the noodles in my chow mein were hard.. food didn’t taste great. Wouldn’t go again to be honest. Quite expensive considering small portion sizes too but especially to receive undercooked food.

overall excellent quality of food. although the beef in black bean sauce was very spicy! more.like beef in chilli sauce. very generous portions and well prepared.

My new go to Chinese Takeaway. This is 3rd time I’ve ordered and it’s the third time it’s been brilliant. Always arrives hot, full portions and the amount of chicken is superb. I love it!

First time eating from here and won’t be our last. Food was very nice, the nicest Chinese we’ve had in a long time!

First time ordering. Food was sent to the wrong address, then back to the takeaway then back to us. The food is bland, supposed to be crispy chilli beef, more like soggy beef. No flavour at all. Won't be using again

Food was absolutely delicious, staff were amazing when I rang up and extremely helpful the egg fried rice was especially good, the food turned up a lot quicker than I was expecting and the driver was just as polite as the lad on the phone, great place for a Chinese and couldn’t recommend more.

Mixed starter was bland , seaweed very salty , spring rolls were soft , no sauce on the spare ribs , prawn toast was nice . Crispy beef was bland , not much chilli , did not eat the rest of the order , which was Yuk Sung and Chicken Noodle soup.

The food arrived stone cold. The chips and prawn crackers were soggy, they were not edible, I even tried to warm them up but still soggy. The chow mein despite being cold was burnt, the beef was tough and I could not chew it. The chicken balls were also soggy, not edible and just fell apart when tried to eat. Will not order from here again.

Lush food by great people, really enjoyed it ! Such lovely people who work there also !!
