Yet again we have been let down by golden gate. Ordered 2 house chowmain and we only got one. They always seem to leave so Thing out of our orders and when confronted they lie. But they food is delicious it’s just the service and if they can improve the service and remember to add everything then it would be perfect.

Gorgeous deliscious food. Lots of king prawns. & complementry prawn crackers. The curry dishes are the best around probably all dishes are but can only comment on what ive had. 5*

Got chicken foo yung fried rice and curry absolutely lovely and definitely enough for two people.

Used to come here two years ago but was bad however decided to try again after these years and now the food changed so lush and amazing counter staff much better now and nicer than before. Keep it up guys!

This Xmas eve 2023, I had delivery from here I am bad my daughter is bad I will never order form here again i hope people read this and do not order from here this the place i have had meals from herr for years but never again it the worse takeway 🤮🤮🤮🤮🤮🤮🤮🤮🤮🤮🤮🤮

I don’t usually write a comment about food but tonight’s was awful, chips over cooked and could not even eat them, curry sauce thick blobs, other items not tasting good. I have used this takeaway for many years then it went down hill, then it was really good again so unsure who’s cooking. Afraid I won’t be going again for a while there are many more to try around the area. Hopefully it’s a one off

Stop putting menus though my door that has a MASSIVE STICKER SAYING NO MENUS!!

Decent food. Salt and chili pepper chicken was a bit dry but over all pretty good

AVOID this takeaway at all costs. Been going here for months and never had an issue, spend at least £40 every time we order. Tonight we ordered the munch box just as we do every single time, the wrong munch box came so I called them too advise them of this so the correct food could be delivered, the bloke on the phone was as much use as a chocolate fireguard, he then tried too get the owner/chef too speak too me but he point blankly refused too speak too me, the owner then took the phone off the lad on the phone and hung up, not even an apology or nothing. So now I’m stuck here with a munch box that I can’t eat because I’m allergic to seafood and it has prawns in the rice, you have just lost a loyal customer and I hope you end up going bust, trading standards are getting a call first thing tomorrow morning.

Great food, but delivery times even when pre ordered are un reliable.

Absolutely disgraceful waited two hours for a takeaway that just didn't turn up money taken out of bank when i rang them claimed they hadn't received an order on their website when I've clearly got an order number and confirmation not interested in sorting the issue out won't be using again

Been a customer here for years and normally sing its praises, order tonight was rubbish. Off to a bad start having to pay an extra 1.90 as they wouldn't give a pot of barbecue sauce instead of the hoi sin sauce pot on the menu,even though they normally do. As for the other meals... chips were cold and tough as leather and the curry sauce was watery and tasteless. Packed out with undercooked onion with about 5 bits of rubbery chicken. Prawn crackers were definitely old. A few people have said this place is going downhill and sadly I have to agree. Less and less quality takeaways in this area now.

We use to use this place at least once a week and the food was always spot but a couple of months ago I got my favourite meal (crispy chicken peking sauce & fried rice) and as soon as I opened it it looked completely different colour to every time I'd had it and tasted horrible .... I left it a couple of weeks and thought I'd give it another try to see if it was back to normal ... but it wasn't ... So tonight I ordered another meal I used to on a regular basis and that was also horrible so unfortunately I won't be going back . Not sure why maybe a different chef / or owner but gone downhill drastically

Lovely Chinese takeaway never had a bad experience with them food sometimes early sometimes it's late it's the way it goes sometimes there busy sometimes there not. Munchie boxes are winner..

Ordered meal 9.10pm still waiting 11. 27 pm absolutely not acceptable when it was supposed to be a 45 minute wait. What happened to customer service NOT will not be using these again.

Placed order at 9-15 still waiting at 11-30 cant get through on phone WILL NOT BE USING AGAIN

Our go to Chinese takeaway. Never had a wrong order. Always piping hot. Always do my orders without onions as I'm allergic. Wet pork chow mein is Lush

Just had a Chinese meal from here.house special chow main,sweet&sour battered chicken.chicken fried rice,chicken curry,bbq spare ribs and chips.and I can honestly say everything was perfect.big portions(loads of chicken balls).my new Chinese now.cant rate delivery as I picked it up.all my family said it was lovely.very good prices.

Spot on every time, ordered several different dishes and delicious every time, very polite staff and punctual delivery. Shame it's closed tonight 😞

Food was ok staff very friendly place quite clean took a while but then you know it's freshly cooked have had better but also had worse

Food was OK, have had better but have also had worse, room to improve.

I have been going here for years and always loved the food. However went yesterday for chicken egg fried rice and chicken chow mein which I always do and it was disgusting. The rice was tasteless mush with some leathery bits of chicken and the chowmein was not much better. I think it had been standing around and just warmed up as we did not wait long enough for it to be cooked. Also I have been up all night feeling sick and ill and even had diarrhoea. I will not be eating there again which is a shame as I have always gone there and loved their food.

Ordered beef in black bean sauce (not hot or spicy) and beef satay. The beef in black bean was absolutely disgusting, was just a carton of gravy basically no taste at all, horrible threw it all in the bin...will not be back

Wow! We have just placed an order, it was delivered on time was hot and tasty the portions were beyond generous we were also given free mini spring rolls and prawn crackers! Will definitely be ordering from here in the future.

Food is as good as you can get if you love Chinese takeaway. And I've never found ordering over the phone easier, I'm usually on the phone for less than a minute. Bish, bash, bosh. Just how I like it 😆

Ordered via just eat, half an hour later restaurant cancelled order. Order every week from here and it's usually good sometimes twice a week. shame they don't look after loyal customers, have started ordering elsewhere. Poor business!

Extremely disappointed with what used to be our favourite Chinese take away. Order was placed at 19:07. Just Eat indicated delivery time of 19:55. Restaurant confirmed delivery would be 20:20. I rang the take away to ask if it would quicker for me to collect. The lady said it would be out for delivery in 20minutes. I rang again at 20:00 to question when it would be delivered. Again I was told it would be out soon with the next driver as the food was ready and "just sitting in the shop waiting for delivery". At 20:20 Just Eat was updated to say "Delivered" which it hadn't been, so I imagine they did that to hit their target time. I rang again at 20:30 for an update and they said it was finally out for delivery. I politely expressed my dissatisfaction that it was approximately 1hr30 since I ordered and had been told not to bother going to collect instead as it would be delivered quickly. The lady handed me over to "Alan" who was extremely rude and dismissive, basically implying that they were busy, it wasn't his issue and now that I had my food I should just enjoy it. I explained that I didn't have my food as it hadn't been delivered, and he again tried to be dismissive and attempted to end the conversation. I asked if there would be any compensation for waiting and paying delivery when I would have happily collected it they had been honest. He said the boss wasn't in so he couldn't do anything and again rudely tried to get me off the phone. When I asked when the boss would be in he said he would get him to call me at some point. I asked when and he again was dismissive and avoided the question. When I asked again he said he would call tomorrow and ended the call with "OK goodbye" and hung up. My food was eventually delivered at 20:47, 1hr40 after I ordered. Food was hot but chips and chicken wings were soggy having sat in the packaging for however long. Driver was polite and courteous, unlike "Alan" who was anything but. Customer service goes a long way and "Alan" simply made the situation much worse. If I don't get a call tomorrow I will call them instead. I don't expect compensation but I would appreciate an apology. I will then never order from here again and would recommend others don't either.

Waited an hour and a half for delivery (I get that its Christmas eve and they're busy and was prepared for that) but when it came it was completely wrong, call to tell them and request the right meal only to be told it would be another two hours- tell them this is unacceptable and I got a sarcastic 'well at least you've got a meal ' customer service at its worst ...

I would like to say something about the food but it still hasn't arrived after 2 hours tried to contact them and no answer or engaged!!! 😠
