A positive experience. I had the best Singapore chow mein (no prawns) that I have had in a lonnnng time. Perfect chow mein. Too often it's too wet and sloppy or too dry but Golden Dragon got it spot on. Service was friendly, yet polite and professional. I am not only going to go back again. I'm actually looking forward to going back again. I don't have any friends but if I did, I would urge them to try this place. I've put 5 stars for atmosphere because I didn't want to give these a low score but why is the atmosphere relevant in a takeaway. What are they looking for here? "I was only in there for 2 minutes but WOW those 2 minutes were a lifetime high" Or "I was blown away by the wonderful decor. So very Chinese. They even have pictures of those houses with the pointy roofs" In summary... Yes I reccommend it. I dont think I've explained how good the food was. Whatever you are thinking, it's even nicer. Nope. Nicer still.

Very nice food! This is our traditional family Chinese takeaway we go to when we get our chinese. The food is incredible. Always Cooked to perfection. Lovely staff. Always very friendly and enthusiastic.

Ordered the Special chow mein and there was one prawn in it, they only accept cash which is a pain these days

Hi the Golden Dragon one.of the best Chinese takeways around food is excellent and well perpared only draw back its cash only.

Just ordered chicken chow mein,Singapore chow mein chips and chicken ball with curry sauce cost £20.50 Got home and no curry sauce just sweet and sour sauce, In the Singapore chow mein I had 2 pieces of chicken 1 prawns and 2 pieces of pork very disappointed was our local Chinese not any more!!

It says open at 4pm. Got there got told to go back at 4.30. You go early to beat the queue. Went again today cash only. Cash po8nt just from it not working. Will the ever get a cash machine.

Well done to the team. Despite being extremely busy they delivered hot tasty food. Yes there was a queue so food took about half an hour but it was fresh, tasty and we were very happy. Quick tip wrap up warmly because most people are now standing outside to await the food after paying and its getting cold. But that's helping with social distancing and a small price to pay.

Felt compelled to leave a review and I don’t normally for takeaways but after reading some of the negative stuff I felt I had to this place is awesome I had salt and pepper chips portion was huge they where well seasoned and nice and crispy then satay skewers only got 2 but never mind they where very nice then crispy chilli chicken which was awesome so can’t fault anything I live in York and contract all over the country so I eat Chinese food everywhere I go and this is honestly one of the best I’ve had in a good few month so I can’t understand the melts leaving negative reviews either I got them on a good day or the haters are one very picky bunch

Worst spare ribs we've ever had, all fat and no meat, bbq sauce has changed too, theres never any takeaway menus. Also ordered pineapple fritters and there was virtually no syrup on them

It is not legally binding to have a minimum payment to use a card machine in there establishment. I take it that they don't watch Watchdog? Or possibly think they are exempt?!

I went here decided to eat out, I ended up going to different Chinese, as the staff here was so rude, we walked in, no smile no acknowledgment we was there just carried on watching t.v. so rude never ever going there again it's put me off.

Given this place plenty of chances, 6 times now my partner has been given food poisoning from the chicken sweet and sour with plain rice... Would be a 0 star if possible... Also had some occurances of the lady behind the counter being abrupt and rude but sometimes has been really nice too... Really annoyed as you would think they would know how to cook food properly if they've been there for as long as they've been there for... Very unimpressed... They can't even cook chips properly as had hard and frozen chips served to me... Never going here again!!!

I ordered chicken pineapple meal. The chicken of that meal was pork not what I had ordered. I will never use again and it was tasteless

Been many times. Like most things. Beef curry with extra onions is my fave. Chips and barbeque sauce is ace . Special curry pork prawns chicken is nice Like a plain chow mein for a late night supper . Just right if your a bit nibbly and just want a light bite.

Visited again this evening for takeaway - food appalling, staff rude and argumentative, prices gone up yet again and only 3 customers in their at 6.30pm just before World Cup on TV. Girl who served me was rude and argumentative. It has been going downhill for a few years now in terms of food quality, total lack of customer service and ever increasing prices. Avoid like the plague.

Rude member of staff, was getting my purse to pay and rudely told cash wven though there was a sign for card payment. Then money snatched out of hands! No smile or any interaction if she smiled think her face would crack. Wont be going again

Had sweet and sour chicken Cantonese yesterday. I was horrible. Chicken was tough and tasted horrible. Really won't eat for their again.

Sweet and sour had a strong taste of vinger, chicken was very chewy and my egg fried rice was not fully cooked. vile. asked for 1 plain chow mein and 1 special chow mein, got 2 plain chow meins and a separate tub of what can only be describedchicken carrots and prawns in a gloop lumpy sauce. also had triple roast. never had a triple roast looking luke that in my life. the sauce was black and we won't be going back.

Been to Golden Dragon for many years now and never disappointed, the food is good value, freshly cooked and tastes fantastic. The staff are warm and welcoming and provide a great service. Has to be one of the best Chinese take aways in the local area. Keep up the great work!!

I can't deny the food here is very nice. Have used it a few times over last couple of months now. First time was nice food, miserable service! Thought it would be a one off. Tried it second time..same story and same third time. Takes order , takes money , serves food. Won't be going again unless service improves. Shame as food it nice, but better service from McDonald's automated ordering screens!

This used to be an excellent Chinese takeaway. We tend to stick to staple selections from the menus of Chinese takeaways, so we are pretty good at comparing the quality between them. About a year ago we had an out of the blue poor experience of this takeaway. We thought the food was bland and my wife had the worst Crispy Shredded Beef she'd ever had, the meat was chewy. We decided to go elsewhere, the trouble being, we haven't managed to find another good Chinese in the area, so tonight we decided to give this one another go. I'm sorry to report that from our order of Pancake Roll, Special Curry, Singapore Chow Mein and Crispy Shredded Beef in a Chilli Sauce, only the Pancake Roll and Chow Mein were really any good. The curry contained two very large and totally unnecessary chunks of gristly, fatty meat which put me off almost immediately (see photo). The chicken was relatively tender but the beef was chewy and all the items tasted bland. Very disappointing. We ate it but they've had their last chance. We'll stick to Indian from now on.

Dry food to many Gm products to make it look fresh very poor 22 pound

Use this Chinese around once a month, usually around pay day! A lovely treat for us all and we have always enjoyed the food, tend to order sweet and sour chicken, chilli beef and so forth. Can't fault it.

Disappointing. Apparently one of our dishes last night was pork.

We had been using Wok and Roll at lyppards, sadly the food was lacking in flavour and was too salty, so we decided to try the Golden Dragon. What a difference,the staff are polite and welcoming and the food is amazing and good value.

Food was of poor quality. Curry was asked for extra spice but hot sauce not stirred in properly. Meat in curry was dry, poor texture. Obviously not cooked with sauce. Partner had chow mein which was very greasy and bland. No flavour at all. Very poor as had such food quailty previous.
