came here yesterday because I live very close to it and the food is the best African food I have ever had. Can’t believe that this is actually near me. Will be coming regularly

Will not be going back. Such a shame as we were trying to support local businesses, but it was a poor excuse for a food outlet. Went into spend no more than £20 for 3 of us and ended spending £18. £5 for plantain. Asked for it diced and it wasn't, and barely enough for 2 of us. 2 portions of puff puff which was meant to be 8 pieces. They only gave us 6 and they were just raw dough. 3 meat pies, for £9!!!! They were only a bit bigger than the puff puff, were mostly pastry and hardly had any filling. Did not even want to take our payment card and wanted us to do a bank transfer. Even asked if my wife was Nigerian, stating she did not look Nigerian. Shocking, absolutely shocking. Will never go again and will steer anyone away from there. Just had a response and not only is the restaurant blatantly lying like we have never ordered food from anywhere before, but photos speak for themselves. They mentioned nothing to our comments about the quality of the food. Terrible customer service and if this is them trying their best, then there best is nowhere near good enough.

lovely food! the inside of the restaurant is so beautiful and lovely making it a homely place to eat and dine in, i had the abula which was succulent and soft with the tender meat.

A very lovely restaurant with a serene atmosphere. The food tastes really nice. I've visited the restaurant multiple times, the quality and quantity of the food is top notch. I will recommend it as your go to restaurant in the Medway area

Food was amazing, customer service was amazing, every single food and snack I bought tasted delicious I wanted more also the food portions are large which is a bonus... puff puff was smoking hot.... My experience at Golden Dishes Restaurant has been beyond disappointing. Despite overlooking the exorbitant prices quiet a number of times in an attempt to support local businesses, I've had enough. The quality of the food simply does not justify the outrageous price. The annoying part is i have been a loyal costumer of this restaurant for a while due to the qaulity of food I received on my first food order. However, since then the service and the food has been horrible. I have had bad quality of food experiences, some which i overlooked on multiple occasions and while on the other occasions, i complained. Despite my complaints, its even got worse. For this reason of supporting her business, i still continue to patronise despite the bad experiences. A small piece of ponmo for £3. Amala abula assorted is £20. It's just ridiculous. I am extremely unhappy and disappointed. It feels like the restaurant is taking a piss with such inflated prices. This is the final straw for me. Not in a million years will i ever spend another penny at Golden Dishes Restaurant.

My original plan was to award them a perfect five-star rating. However, that changed when we received a bill for £120 for a bottle of Jameson, which is typically around £32 at Tesco. Had it been a special 12-year-old bottle, priced around £299, I might have understood. The unexpected and substantial markup left me and my friends quite astonished. While I'm aware that restaurant prices can vary for several reasons, this particular increase seemed unjustifiably high and appeared to be a tactic for quick profit. This experience alone was enough to make us think twice about returning. Additionally, my willingness to revise my review diminished when the owner responded to our concerns with a rather unconvincing approach towards customer service.

Bought grilled fish and plantain, efo riro and they were lovely. Well seasoned, balanced flavours exactly like the ones I used to go into London on Fridays to buy 😊. And the customer service was on point, which is a good combination.

The food was absolutely amazing!!! I didn’t get a picture of my husbands food but he had amala and ewedu. The portions are perfect!!! My chicken was succulent and the efo egusi was heaven. My husband had so much assorted meats and he loved it all. His amala was made to perfection. The food was excellent but the service was exceptional. Great experience all round. We will be back.

The place is well presented, pleasant and the meals I bought such as abula and ayamase were tasty and well prepared. Staff are polite and friendly lovely experience.

I can say confidently that Golden dishes is the best African dishes I have tasted. Their food is so delicious and tasty. Package brilliant and hot. Even though the prices is on the high side but worth every penny. I will definitely patronise you again.
