Took 1 hour 30 minutes for delivery, when food arrived was inedible full of msg, so much that both my husband and myself were ill after eating a small amount, mouths and lips were burning all you could taste was salt. Phoned to complain, we were told they don't use msg! Then when questioned more they said ' we buy the sauce in so don't know what's in it' beware,will never use again.

Food was really good service was a little slow and there's no atmosphere

It was a very busy take out, always had a good meal.

The only chinese local to me that offers gluten free and the owner id very knowledgeable. So happy to join in with takeaway with my family.

Food was delicious .. sui mai and won ton soup so tasty

Salt and pepper chips are insanely good. Really tasty mushy peas and curry sauce too. I've been searching for decent chips everywhere in Orrell, Up Holland and Skelmersdale but this one is the best by miles. So happy, will be back. Thanks x

Just had the worst King prawn foo yung I’ve ever had. The prawns were raw and the egg was runny. They never even put anything else in it like a bit of mushroom. Honestly I could of cooked it better myself.

Just had a £45 delivery, first time using this place in yrs, absolutely awful food, everything was dry and overcooked, all thrown in the bin, this was for 4 people and no one ate it, never again. If there was an option to give 'no stars' that's what they would get

Been going for 12 years, always amazing, the best salt and pepper you’ll ever taste, fresh chillis (hot) the best homemade seasoning with their own secret ingredient, which will have your taste buds wanting more, Christine is a lovely person who takes time to speak to her regulars who she recognises, I travel a few miles for this food an will continue to do so, can’t rate this place enough, keep up the good work an I’ll see you next week.

Horrible Hot and sour soup , stone cold and taste of vinegar, beef chowmein was awful, pork dumplings left a disgusting taste in my mouth, the whole meal , cold inedible and does not resemble chines food

Edible but not the best by far the sweet and sour was brown, the salt and pepper chicken was the spiciest food I've ever eaten I'm my life, everything seemed a bit bland

Every meal has always been spot on. Delivery takes a while but understandable if they're busy. The singapore vermicelli and crispy chilli chicken is lovely.

Best Chinese going usually when me and my girlfriend argue ( now ex) :( i usually surprise her with a golden city but i cant no more as it usually takes a bit longer than usual to come and she gets proper frustrated because its sometimes cold then i get blocked so thanks golden city. Chris crying now.

Food is brilliant and we love Christine but the English girl who works behind the counter is very rude and makes customers feel unwelcome. This won't stop us from coming back but maybe greet customers with a smile in future :) amazing food as always!

Been coming here for 3 years and it always kept me girlfriend happy even tho she wouldn't pay. We've split now so probs won't be ordering no more :(:( at least ya made alot off money off me in the 3 years haha 5 stars

What can I say. Golden city is amazing value for money. Food is superb. I love the chicken wings in ok sause & the special szechuan. Fast on the PHONE, The food is allways HOT! 👍

Been going the golden city for about 8 years now food is always top notch the crispy shredded chicken in ok sauce is out of this world as are all the meals ive had cant recomend it enough

I ordered chicken curry and boiled rice, chicken and cashew nuts and egg fried rice for myself and my partner last Saturday. When I got home my partner got the food out and tasted it and though it was absolutely disgusting - the worst Chinese food she had ever ttasted. The chicken didn't taste like chicken and the cashew nuts were burnt and the egg fried rice was very dry and was the most disgusting she'd ever tasted. The chicken curry and boiled rice was okay but not the best I've had from there by a fair way.

Was the first time We have ever had food from You and certainly won't be the last,was worth waiting for as it was delicious and nicest Chinese we have had in a long time. ...Highly recommended.

Just rang to order food, we have ordered and had delivered from here plenty of times, they answered and were very rude. I told them the address and they just said no we dont deliver there because they couldn't understand they then put the phone down terrible service very rude will not try again.

Lovely friendly chinese takeaway, great food

Ordered a delivery as it was Sunday and few places open. The fish was tiny and hardly battered. They sent marrow fat peas and not mushy peas as ordered. Chips were cold Most of it went in the bin.

Food has been fine. Delivery is a joke. Waited 2 hours 15 mins last week and got order wrong. This week was 1 hour 50. So refused delivery. Even drivers call the management

Home delivered before time given food really good

Nothing to do with the food but the way they spoke to their staff was absolutely disgusting. The poor girl was run off her feet with no help from anyone then another member of staff started shouting at her in front of the whole shop. After speaking to her like rubbish and patronising her in front of the customers, she then continued to raise her voice at the girl serving telling her what to do. Disgusting! The poor girl serving was nearly in tears

Thoroughly disgusting. Apart from the fact the food I ordered was wrong, what they did cook was vile. Greasy chicken satay, no flavour just chilli. Only go here if you have no taste buds or you are drunk and you don't care what you eat.

SIMPLY, the worst takeaway I've been to. We ordered a takeaway to our place of work, in a bank. And they've managed to drop it off at some randomers in the same town twice. They then gave us the wrong meal, and then asked us to repackage the ones we opened and come back down to reception so they could deliver it to the right person. Quite simply, unhygienic, and would never eat there again. Even worse as this was my first time.... How are they still in business?!?! Remember people they redeliver your food, even if other people had their fingers in your food.

Our local Chinese and won't go anywhere else. Great food and the best chips around!

Amazing food in the past, awful service - we ordered 2 hours ago and were told 45 minutes ago that our food was out for delivery. That means our food has been going cold for 3/4 of an hour, and is continuing to do so. Our children are up late waiting for their "special dinner" and have been pestering, hungry, for over an hour. Absolutely unacceptable.
