Golden City in Renfrewshire

The main problem with this place is the chips, the food is usually good, but the chips are a disgrace to the plate, dry burnt and Irish tottie farmer would take your nuts for this please sort it out.

Ordered sweet / sour Hong Kong style...sauce and rice nice. However the actual chicken appeared to be missing..lots of thick pieces with NO chicken inside.. contacted shop who said take it up with workers tomorrow.as she was not on then..full of CHEWY gristle..instead of chicken..

Chicken curry is lovely fried rice a bit dry and the chips are absolutely shocking have a cheek to charge for them actually can't believe that they got put in a bag for someone's meal!!

Have used this takeaway for years and loved it. However, last time the chow mein was really oily and last night ordered chicken fried rice and there was no chicken, just a large tray of fried rice with peas and spring onion. Really disappointed. 2 strikes and I'm out

Easily one of the best Chinese takeaways in Paisley. Moved from Paisley 3 years ago (not too far) and still use. Try asking for a spicy curry (rated between 1 and 5). The 3 was absolutely dynamite.

Golden city Chinese has been operating for well over 20 odd years or more I always get my food from there food grate as always warm tasty and do home delivery and very well prices and staff friendly

No idea why everyone is giving this place amazing reviews. I ordered a breast of chicken curry and got everything but the breast…horrible black chewy bits! The salt and chilli chips were burnt. And the portion sizes were tiny. There’s hands down a better Chinese in Paisley called ivy. I wouldn’t waste another penny in golden city 🤢

I had recently moved to Paisley and had been recommended to try this place by a friend. I ordered a beef curry which was amazing and the fried rice was great too. Due to the two lovely ladies serving that went above and beyond their roles I will definitely make this my regular takeaway in the future. Thanks again folks it is greatly appreciated!!

Lovely Chinese takeaway. I always enjoy the food from here. I order chicken satay, it’s the best I’ve ever had. The salt and chilli chicken balls are also amazing! and the salt and chilli chips are as well lol I’m a regular.

The place looks a bit dodgy but the food was good. Was flying out of Glasgow airports. Was staying at the Travelodge so picked up a takeaway and walked back to the hotel.

Our order was a chicken chow mein and a special curry. The chow mein had very little chicken or onion, it was basically a full portion of noodles with a tasteless sauce. The curry was the biggest disappointment, it was in a very small container and was simply not a big enough portion for a main meal. Unfortunately I would not return or recommend this takeaway to family or friends.

This is a hidden gem the best Chinese in Paisley by a mile if you have not been here yet what's wrong with you

Great quality food, the main portions are served in the small square silver trays . Just ask for a large portion for a extra £ and you get your main course dish in the long silver trays.

very disappointed and ashamed the fact you do not offer card payment during a pandemic not even an online system or just eat. Customer service is shocking at the front desk also if i could give 0 stars i definitely would. Good luck when cash is no longer available and it is card payment only. Definitely for short roods customers only.

Got a take a way from here chicken maryland & it had 2 big bits of fillited chicken i bit of ham a link and 2fritters 1 banna 1 pineaple oh and a bag of chips really good the amounts u get in the meals also had beef & blackbean sauce chips n fried rice that was delish as well 10/10 i would give it 👍

We got an apartment on Albion gate behind this Chinese place. Our first thought was eww I'm never eating from there as the building looks like a dive.... But we ended up getting some anyways and it was the best Chinese take out we ever had. Beats what we ever tried in Canada. We ordered The chicken curry, the special chow rain, the salt and pepper wings, chicken in black bean sauce and chop suey and everything was way above our expectations... We ended up eating there 5 times during our stay! Only downside was they don't open until 4h30pm

Tiny little shop but it's easily the best chinese in Paisley for me. The chicken balls are superb. Usually closed on a Tuesday so don't get caught out like i did.

Food here was 1st class the area is a bit rough, Charles Bronson was the Avon lady round here.

I lived local to this takeaway 33 years ago, it was great then and it’s great now, the curry sauce is special and the best I’ve tasted from anywhere, a small takeaway which has been there over 40 years says it all

This takeaway is around the corner from where we live. They have the best chips and gravy/curry sauce we have ever tasted. I especially love their honey, chilly chicken. My hubby loves their breath of chicken curry. I would also highly recommend their salt & pepper chicken wings. They are amazing. The staff are friendly. Will be back very soon.

Food is great and the women who work at the counter are always lovely to both myself and my mother. The downside is that this takeaway only has one phone line which is usually always engaged due to the high demand. I just wish Golden City would start using Just Eat because that would attract more customers to an already amazing business!

Sometimes get orders wrong but there food is the business

First time in many years had a takeaway from golden city. The curry was amazing and my grandson had sweet and sour chicken which he loved. However, I noticed the size of containers have shrunk!!!!! Anyone else notice this??? Would still recommended as food is very good.

Excellent choices and fast aervice

The Chinese is just around the corner from the house. Their gravy is the best I've ever tasted. I get chips & gravy if I don't want anything to heavy. I would recommend the chicken chow mein with gravy. It tastes fab. My hubby loves their breast of chicken curry. I would also recommend their salt n pepper chicken wings, they are to die for. The staff who work there are funny & you always have a laugh with them. Will be back soon.

Have meant to review the golden city before , we use it on a regular basis .. It looks very run down from the outside but looks are deceptive .. The girls at the counter are friendly and efficient , the place is always busy everything seems very fresh . Prices are good.. Quality and portions are also excellent

A little gem! Tiny little place tucked away next to a derelict house. We were just visiting family nearby and decided to try it. Good decision! Best curry sauce we've had in years and the staff are friendly and funny.

Absolutely hated chinese food until i tried them! Amazing food cooked fresh! SALT AND PEPPER CHICKEN BALLS ARE DA BOMB! Staff are friendly and very knowledgeable about their menu! Best chinese food ever!
