Golden Chef in Cannock Chase

I’m slightly confused. We order what’s on their menu at the prices stated but yet we pay more? There is no doubt food is lovely but feel prices are different each time? Like to think we are loyal customers - perhaps not? We just received delivery from taxi driver - no prawn crackers, curry and sweet n sour sauce. So paid more for even less food. Shame was a good place.

Doesn’t even deserve 1 star. Ordered it. Didn’t come for 2 hours. We then realised they had delivered it to the wrong address. Where the person was not even in.. so food was cold! We went to the shop which is out of use! How do You contact them when they don’t even answer the phone?? I want a full refund!

Ordered a delivery around 6:30 on Saturday evening. Was told up to 90 mins delivery time (understandable-weekend and I assume busy) - food arrived 20 mins early and piping hot by a friendly driver. Food tasted amazing especially the salt and pepper shredded chicken and banana fritter was very fresh. I called the store afterwards to thank them as from working in service myself- you rarely get a call back for a good review, so it’s always nice to give one instead of only moaning! - will use every Saturday xx

Not one to leave reviews but here we are. I’ve Ordered a few times, arguably the most hit and miss place to order from. Most recent order was on time, but missing items. Called up and was told they would be delivered in 10-15 minutes max, so were not willing to replace other items as it wouldn’t take too long. 45 minutes later and the missing items arrived. I then had to re-heat the food from the first delivery. On the second delivery, the person was using foul language, and telling me how poor somebody else is at their job, and that they will be sacked… Seems like they have a good team there… won’t be ordering again which is a shame, as the food is nice when it actually comes

The merchant deliberately placed a staple on the handle of the bag. When I took the food from the delivery person, the thumbtack stuck into my hand directly, causing a lot of blood. When I called the merchant to ask about it, their attitude was very Terrible. Hang up the phone directly, and the food is very salty! !

Ordered food two and a half hours ago and it’s just arrived, if I could give less than one star I would. Never eating here again and you shouldn’t either

Very disappointed no food delivered after ordering of uber eats and still took money after phoning restaurant and telling them . Won't be using again and UBER EATS CAN JOG ON TOTAL WASTE OF TIME AND ROBBING C☆☆TS.

DISGUSTING! Can’t get any money back either! Spend £35 for a chicken curry and chow mien, prawn toast and spring rolls ……. Spring rolls were cold the chow mien was like cardboard and the chicken was cold and undercooked!!!! I won’t ever order from here again demand my money back but just eat don’t want to know 🤬

I order the food never arrived phone the restaurant told me it will be another hour and half for delivery I wouldn't care but we ready been waiting for an hour

Bit late..OK but an east to please chicken in black bean sauce just tasted like it was just covered in black pepper..no sauce ..really disappointed

we ordered 2 hours ago and it still hasn’t came even though they said it was on the way 30 mins ago

I used to love this place but just ordered and The order never arrived so we phoned the restaurant and they said that we lied and that the driver delivered it but couldn’t give a description of the house or area. Refused to deliver it again and then ended the call. DO NOT ORDER FROM HERE.

This is now a dessert parlour, and well worth visit.

Used to love this takeaway. Appears that they do not deliver from this site anymore but only from their other restaurant in pye green. Therefore food is cold by the time it reaches Burntwood. Delivery driver was rude, food took an hour and 20 mins and was cold and not what we ordered: time to find a new takeaway

Ordered through just eat. Delivered on time. Fried chicken with lemon sauce! Sauce had no flavour, gloopy like wallpaper paste. Batter had a strange taste. Not good overall cost of whole meal £30. I expect better

Don't answer their phone. When they do they say their closed and to call later. Now I've had to leave it late to order from elsewhere. Disgusting service. Last time we ordered the food was not great either. Getting worse and worse this place is.

Used this takeaway for many years , but tonight was not great. Spent over £45 and when I called about missing items was told could not refund as don’t know how to! Felt they were rude too . 2 items missing, chicken balls were greasy, crispy beef was chicken , fruity sauce was hot and spicy and lots of chilli, yuk sung was extremely salty, didn’t send enough lettuce to be able to share. Very poor this evening after waiting over an hour for the delivery. Sent missing items - but too late. Not enjoyable tonight and not worth the money. May be trying a different take away as I don’t expect to be spoken to in a rude manner when I call with a complaint and was not rude in anyway to them . Did not enjoy food this evening at all .

Delivery never turned up. Will not use again. AVOID

I’d give it 0 stars if I could took them 3 hours to deliver the food I understand they’re busy but why not give us a longer waiting time when we ordered, called to ask where it was twice and both times was told it was on the way, won’t be ordering from here again

Over 2 hours from ordering to delivery on a Tuesday evening, never again. I’d sooner let the mother-in-law cook!

Started well. Delivery was good ordered online. Prawn toast was lovely. I thought the portion was a bit small having paid for the large. .

Just tried to order from here, at 8.40 still no food at 10.10, when contacting the restaurant to discuss cancelling the order, the young lady added they had tried to deliver but lights were off and they had tried to call, I had no phone call my phone was next to me, we were in the living room at the front of the house blinds open tv on, no one knocked our door! Won’t use again very disappointed!

Ordered off just eat order arrived 40mins late with one item missing then cannot get through on the phone had a refund off just eat from this places sloppy service will never use again and all the food was cold aswell avoid

If i could leave 0 starts that would be too low. Absolute bunch of chinese cowboys. Expect at least 4 hours for a simple delivery to arrive if at all. Avoid like covid 19

First time ordering from here and if I could turn back time I would have ordered from somewhere else ...the food was barely warm and can only be described as the worst Chinese I've ever had . The duck was cooked badly and the sauce so strong I couldn't eat it ....the chicken balls had no flavour and were just mush covered meat .....my advice to anyone looking to eat from here don't do it ..get some ingredients and have a go yourself you can't be worse . And also 40 minutes late to make it more special.

Absolutely dreadful always messed up our orders, had to wait over an hour an half for our food and it still didn't turn up and when I spoke to the manager about a discount because we waited so long she refused and was very rude and sharp .would definitely not recommend, dont waste your time or money on them

I ordered myself some food on the 9/10/18, I got home and tasted some of the sauce from the dish before smothering it all over my rice (as you do). Unfortunately the sauce just tasted like vinegar!!! As if a bottle had been dumped into it! The chicken was barely cooked! That was when I put the lid back on the dish and returned it to the take out store. The only reason this review has 2 stars is because of the young lady behind the counter, she deserves 5 stars! She listened to what I had to say, offered me a different meal (which I refused) and then she gave me a refund. However there was a chef (small in height) watching her and shouting at someone in the kitchen in Chinese, this to me was very unprofessional... Thankyou to the girl who served me and if the owner reads this he/she may want to reconsider their chefs or their food supplier.

It's the first time I have ordered from here and will 100% be using them again. Not only did the order arrive 20 minutes after phoning, the food arrived hot and a great value for money. The portion sizes were large compared to other resurants who charge more for less. Golden chef gave both quality and more for less. The lady on the phone was lovely and polite as was the delivery driver which is always an added bonus. I look forward to my next order from here

This chinese was the worst I have ever had.chicken was like bullets.so tough.will never use again.

Just got home after collecting Chinese to discover the Chicken with Beansprouts is something completely different. Chicken in a plain sauce with vegetables. The prawn crackers are also very soft and bendy. Thought three minutes from order to takeaway was a bit quick! Disappointed.

Worst Chinese ever. Had a duck curry, barely any meat mainly fatty skin and the meat that was in there was completely over cooked and dry, with extra bits of bone left in for flavour! Also what sort of monster puts mushrooms in a curry?! Definitely won't be eating here again.

Usually delivered very quickly. But waited an over an hour today for cold food with no apology. Won't be using again.

Gutted to find Sammy and Co had moved on and retired. Had a takeaway tonight and it wasn't the same at all :( sorry to say I won't be returning.
