Since the Breiden closed as a takeaway been trying to find a new Chinese takeaway tried the blue jade but very greasy and oil was well past its used by date . So very surprised to find the golden bamboo was bloomin lovely …..

This is a cash-only establishment, food is cooked to order, has a varied menu and you can phone an order through, this is a takeaway-only, delicious food, would highly recommend, closed on Tuesdays but open from 4.30 pm till 9 pm.

Visited 2nd December (take-away) ghastly food. Swimming in fat. Do not use this establishment. The prices are high and the food is kept in insulated bags until you pick it up. Awful, awful.

food wasn’t cooked properly, sauce was extremely weak and runny. Service Laxey Daisy, not friendly whatsoever. Price is too high and with a one star food hygiene I’m not surprised

This takeaway hasAGAIN. Increased their prices- A chicken curry and fried rice NOW. £10-20 yes just for that Will not be going again It cash only which not problem-May be for taxman??ha ha

Over priced poor quality food. Showing a 5 Food Hygiene Rating in the window when Food Standards Agency given them a 1 Food Hygiene Rating! I wouldn't of eaten there if I known this before. Food tastes like slime and sauces like water.

We had this chinese tonight, it was awful, watery curry, slimy chicken, stoggy rice. Wouldn’t visit this chinese again.

We had food many times from Golden Bamboo and never had a problem! The staffs are friendly and the food are so good. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!

After reading the previous reviews, we were very wary about the quality of the food we'd ordered, we needn't have worried, our meal was delicious and we got exactly what we'd ordered and the service was fantastic and very quick. Will use again.

Since New management food is DISGUSTING!!! 🤢🤮 Ordered Roast pork & Roast duck on fried rice.. And sweet and sour chicken balls. There was bigger chunks of fat hanging off the pork than the meat portion itself! The duck tasted like slime, massive amounts of skin hanging off and hardly any duck! Had to spit food out 🤮. As well as large amounts of skin loose with out duck on within the rice! Biten into what I thought was a chicken ball and turned out to be king prawns! I understand accidents happen so called them back up and was told to recollect in 10 minutes. Walked back down to only be given the chicken balls, by then the sweet and sour sauce from the order before was stone cold. Tried them again the week later to give them the benefit of the doubt! Mentioned the skin in my meal I had with duck to the girl on reception who spoke to the chef and he point blank refused to do anything about it! Only a matter of time to this place is shut down, the previous owners cooked amazing food and I used to go 2-3 times a week! Won’t be long to they’ve got no returning customer. Living off the previous owners good reputation won’t last long!

I have been going to the golden bamboo for years, but now its under NEW MANAGEMENT it is SHOCKING!! On the 5th of October me and my partner ordered our food, chicken balls were WRONG they had king prawns in them. Also didn't like the duck the skin wasn't fried in the pan before putting in the oven, felt soft and chewy. Wasn't cooked how it use to be cooked. Rang up on the 5th October, told them about our complaints about the KING PRAWNS IN OUR SWEET AND SOUR CHICKEN BALLS! They asked us to come back in 10 minutes, to come pick up the right food. I was shocked when we walked in there we didn't have an apology or ANY money back! All they handed us was chicken balls and NOT included the sweet and sour sauce. Our sweet and sour sauce that we had with our original meal was stone COLD. I felt the chef is absolutely lazy. On the 9th of October we went in and explained that I would like my duck cooked differently by cutting back on the extra skin on the duck and the woman on the till asked the chef and he point blank said NO. I feel the chef is VERY LAZY and WONT COOK to the customers liking!! ME AND MY PARTNER WONT BE RETURNING!!

It's a great takeaway; we've always had very positive experiences of the food there. Very pleasant staff and the wait for food to be prepared is usually very short.

This was a devastating shock, our normal treat was plain nasty! This TA is under new management and I recommend do not eat here. We had a family Chinese tonight and what a nasty tasteless meal - never seen or tasted such a nasty meal! The chicken curry was as thin as water, the noodles were grey and chicken in the omelette like tofu. Everything was like taste less cardboard. Don’t eat here - you’ll be devastated!

Quality and tasty food. The lady at the counter is very friendly. This takeaway is always busy especially weekends so it's adviasble to order well in advance.

I ordered my takeout for 9 people on a bank holiday, the lady I spoke to was polite and helpful. The food was ready for collection at a time they had told us. The food was delicious, and well priced. The Sweet and Sour Chicken Balls were very nice. Just a shame they didn't have crispy seaweed our favourite. But will order again.

I love Chinese food and naturally have eaten a lot and know what’s good. By chance I ordered from Golden Bamboo and we thoroughly enjoyed the food. Tasty and good quality! Luckily I tried for myself and not trusting some of the negative reviews on here.

Always friendly. Must admit I do stick to Singapore fried rice an the special curry. Always tastes great. Have to wait a while at wkends as does get very busy!

Just rang this place to place a takeway order - I wish I hadn't. The person on the other end of the line was most unhelpful. It was as if I was somehow inconveniencing him by ringing up.Two minutes into the conversation, I cancelled the order.Clearly they don't having custom or respecting potential customers. So rude!

I went here on a Saturday around 6pm , It was busy and they were telling people 50 mins for food. I ordered Szechuan pork, NO pork it was crammed with water chesnuts and bamboo shoots. Not worth a fiver. Very dissapointing . I have been here before and it was ok but I think they cannot cope when busy . The lady taking the orders couldnt remember or find orders for customers whom had phoned through.NOT good.

Great menu, great service, very good prices. we usually have a set meal for two which is enough for four people. its always delicious.

Lovely food. Been coming for takeaway for the last 4 years. Phone orders are definitely the way to go. Always ready when we get there and food is tasty and fresh. Would get 5 stars if they delivered to my house 5 miles away!! ;D

Had visitors so decided to have a takeaway . It was pretty average with nothing to really rave about . One thing I would say is that the sweet and sour sauce was quite bland , but portions are generous.

Called here on a Friday night, placed our order and waited and waited. 1 hour later food was ready. Would of walked away but had paid when we placed our order so had to wait for it. Customers who came in and ordered food for one got served pretty quickly, phone orders seemed to get sorted quicker too. Food was ok, staff friendly, just took too long
