Gökyüzü Green Lanes in Haringey

Nice atmosphere, delicious food, fast service and friendly staff but portions are too big and leftovers go to waste. A solution should be found to avoid waste.

Fabulous food and plenty. Enough to take home for another meal too.

We ordered chicken wings, and they arrived, with two of them still having feathers on them. Upon complaining, all the manager (Rose, she said her name is) said , " i will tell the staff, no sympathy or apology." We made special to go this restaurant from outside London!!!

This used to be an amazing place... The main dishes are very expensive. Admittedly, the portions are big too, but too big. But the quality/taste has become SOO mediocre. We got döner, lamb chops, cop sis... all mediocre.

Turkish staff they always not friendly

Today, we went to this restaurant with my family. At the table across from us, a couple kept kissing and hugging constantly, which was a very disgusting situation. We had chosen the place because it was a family restaurant. We felt very uncomfortable. The food and service were excellent, but we were very disturbed by that scene. I don’t understand how something like this is allowed in a family restaurant.

The food was really good n kunafe is one of the best (no one asked me if i want the syrup on the side or spread over the kunafe, as i don’t like my kunafe extra sweet, n i always have syrup on the side in other restaurants n i add less syrup to suit my taste buds) Also, quite disappointing that this is a turkish restaurant and they could not dedicate a corner of the restaurant to offer salah indoor, specially when it’s ramadan. Salah arrangement was outside in the parking lot in the cold n it was raining at the time of aftari. So we offered it on the table n chair where we were sitting. Chingford brach is quite suspicious and easily a corner could have been dedicated for salah.

We ordered Iskender, lahmacun and Albanian liver. Ayran as a beverage. The portions are very filling, I would even say too much. But I didn't like the lahmacun very much, the meat smelled a bit strong. Ayran was obviously not good. The place was very clean and the employees were attentive. Thanks

Not our best evening eating out here for my sons girlfriend birthday meal, my wife and I are both dairy and gluten intolerant and we asked what have they that we could eat, we settled on the sea base with chips instead of the potato mash with veg and with a side of barbecue mushrooms, first the chips arrived long before our meals then the waiter forgot the 2 side of mushrooms and they arrived when we were finished our meal, so not a very good evening out and the food was not all it was cracked upto be, and we both felt a little unwell after our meal, there must have been some cross contamination with our meal, so no we will not be back for another meal,

Fantastic lamb ribs (meal via Deliveroo) came with a salad, two pieces of Turkish flatbread, bulgur wheat and two tiny pots of sauce 50ml approx. had I known it came with the extras I would’ve saved myself £7 on extras. I will definitely be ordering from here again

Last week had my excellent lamb ribs kebab. Lamb ribs are my favourite. Prefer them over chopsticks as they are fattier which make grilled meat tastier. Enormous portions. Could not finish them. On top of it they give you cacik ( jajik)- yogurt with cucumber and mint and big veggie salad for free. Aaaand! tasty turkish tea which is also free! Service is excellent. Want to mention Ali who went beyond giving me a second glass of tea and helped with the wifi. My favourite restaurant when i m in the area.

The best Turkish Restaurant in London. You won't find another better. Service on the last occasion was not great though, but the quality of the food is what matters and that can't be faulted.

Music was a bit loud, really nice staff and service, but they sold alcohol, which isn't great in a halal restaurant

I like this place and particularly the breakfast. Such a good deal and when you’re in a group it makes so much sense. You can stay there and chat for a couple of hours as well.

Food was great. The best Gokyuzu branch I have been. The service wasn’t great, we booked a table at 7.30 but didn’t take our seats until 7.55 which wasn’t ideal since we already had a booking. Not the best atmosphere. It’s a very busy place, with people shouting from every corner.

I recommend making a reservation to secure a seat in the restaurant! The dishes are plentiful and delicious We shared a barbecue with 3 of us and it was really excellent! Various types of meat all well cooked! 🤤 It is served with delicious focaccia!!

We came from a 2 hour drive but it wasn't worth it. I think the lamb shish were overcooked and dried out. chickens were also dry. Also it was expensive.

The service was okay but there was a really low number of staff so it was taking time for them to see you. The people there were really loud so it is not a place to relax but it is a place to enjoy your dinner.

I advise all customers to carefully check the bill in this restaurant! Personally, I have encountered such a situation several times when they smiled at me and slipped me another bill. For them, this is normal. But deceiving customers is not adequate

For the first time we tasted Turkish cuisine in this restaurant. The place could be improved in terms of aesthetics but the dishes were all very good and well served. Very generous portions and medium-high price.

Good food and enjoyable experience

Once the best option in the Green Lanes' variety of Turkish restaurants, Gökyüzü has certainly increased prices, and seems to have reduced the portions and subdued the flavours. I long for the old restaurant I knew years ago where — even if the original location did not have present days' glitter — you could enjoy lavish amounts of delicious Turkish fare at reasonable prices. Luckily, nearby competitors sell sanctuary.

I was not satisfied at all, I had a reservation, I waited for half an hour and I did not have a table, he said still wait 20 minutes, there is no good service, I do not recommend, DON'T COME!!!

The Mediterranean breakfast tasted really good along with the falafel and homous. It was served with bread and simit which were freshly baked and we got complimentary Turkish tea after our meal.

If you are an avid meat lover, then this is THE PLACE.Awesome quality meat, that is tender and melts in your mouth. Taste that suits every palate. Generous offerings of bread & salad.

Delicious but prices are too high

Very delicious food, good service and very nice atmosphere. Highly recommended

Overpriced; Portions are too small and not enough. Not worth the money you pay. Even going to Turkey for a day is cheaper than eating here. In Turkish ; I am reporting from 2025. Prices are excessively high. In a country where inflation was 2-3%, no one but Turkish tradesmen could increase prices by 15-20%. You can compare and see past menu prices added to Google. He tried to bring the inflation in Turkey here. If we don't know the price per kg of meat here, we will believe the prices. If you eat at a luxury restaurant in Soho, you will pay the same price, and those prices are not increased like this every year. I don't think so, but I hope their employees were given the same salary increase.

I rarely give 5 stars, but I must admit this was the best Turkish restaurant I've tried so far in London. I tried the Manti (starter portion) which was huge and really tasty. The mixed grill that my friends ordered looked amazing too

We visited this restaurant last Sunday and had the full platter with meze starters—everything was absolutely delicious! The flavors were rich and well balanced, making for a truly delightful meal. Our waiter Mehdi, was exceptional polite, friendly and incredibly attentive. His warm smile and outstanding service made our experience even more enjoyable. Overall, it was a wonderful dining experience, and we would definitely return. Highly recommended!

The food prices have doubled in one year. It seems like they put their prices every month. Food is hit and miss. Used to go regularly but wont anymore simply not worth the money

Such a lovely experience dinning here. We wanted to come to the green lanes for a while and we decided Gokyuzu. The food was superb. And the whole experience is great, they get you complementary little tzazkiki of sorts, bread, salad and tea.The services was also brilliant. All the staff is so professional and on top of things, so rare to have this experience in the UK nowadays. Meryem was our waitress, she was lovely. It might look slightly pricey if you see only mains, but portions and all that includes makes for it, making it affordable. Also they don't charge for service.

Compared the service with the service in Gökyüzü in the North Finchley has 5*. I hope you will improve the service

WARNING: tips do NOT go to staff (waiters advised us not to add a service charge as we were going to). This is unacceptable. Food tasted ok but I had issues digesting until the next morning. Overpriced - this is NOT Mayfair. And service was fairly poor as well: no serving spoons (we asked a waiter, and he never came back… hope he’s ok!) Would not go back.

Always excellent service here, I will warn you the food is so good, pace yourself as you’ll be full before the final platter

Love this restaurant, one of the best turkish in London, the owner came to us and offered us free dessert as he found out we are from Iran! And was so friendly and welcoming, we had a great experience:)

Dined in hundreds of times with often great service, but on both recent occasions I’ve stopped at the counter for take away the team there are incredibly rude and disinterested. Just had to beg to even be noticed in a totally empty restaurant after all the counter team one by one looked at me, made eye contact and then just proceeded to ignore me. Last visit was essentially the same treatment. What a shame

Rohit our waiter was so helpful and made the experience even better. We had a lovely time and enjoyed our meal. We ordered the jumbo platter which was really nice and I must say the free salad was absolutely delicious.

Everything was delicious and had very nice presentations. Ms. Tülay was very interested in the table and guided us through the menu. My score is 5.

One of the best Turkish restraunts in London and even in the Turkish district. Especially their breakfatst, if you like Menemen, never miss Menemen in Gokyuzu.

Very busy and bustling restaurant with friendly staff, quick service and good food!

The service was fast and the food was absolutely amazing.

I came here this evening with my parents and got a takeaway, firstly I waited around 20mins for the fodder to be done. I then asked the chef who did our order to label the kebab wraps we had which he did completely wrong. He also added red cabbage to one of the wraps which for the person it who has this wrap it was uneatable. The other wraps were good portions but again not as we asked, my mother had also been sick and had an upset stomach from the food which is even more concerning. The only wrap which was of any food was the lamb doner with onion salad which I have no complaints of as this was freshly cooked. Unfortunately I do not fully recommend the takeaway side of this restaurant even though I’ve been here plenty of times for a sit down meal.

I was in Turkey 3 months ago and I can compare that the food is really great and tastes the same as in Turkey. Top customer service! The atmosphere is perfect for a date or a meeting with friends. I will definitely come back again and again.

Taste like something missing in food, not tasty at all, looking good but not tasty, service good, atmosphere not bad, it is very clean place. But don't expect anything delicious l think.

We went as 8 people, none of us liked it, the rice was tasteless, the ribs were a bit oily and dry, we couldn't eat the iskender at all, the meat tasted strange, the tea was bitter, frankly we were not satisfied at all.

We ordered kuşbaşı pide for three people, and it was extremely disappointing. The pide was incredibly oily, and all of us are now experiencing symptoms of food poisoning. We've been taking turns going to the toilet since eating it. It's shocking how a dish we’ve enjoyed elsewhere could be this poorly made. To make matters worse, we paid £80 for this meal. On top of that, the staff didn’t seem happy with their jobs—no one looked cheerful or engaged. Please, whoever owns this place, take better care of your team. A happy staff directly impacts the quality of the food and the overall experience.

The best Turkish restaurant I’ve tried in England! Having been to Turkey, I can confidently say the flavors and cooking style are authentically Turkish. The dishes are incredibly flavourful, served in generous portions, and reasonably priced. I’ll definitely recommend it to friends and look forward to returning!

Great food as per usual, great value for money. As soon as I sat down, I was offered a large salad and warm bread, sign of excellent service. I then had the Sama Beyti, I think, as pictured. Perfect. The staff were friendly and kind, very North London. Lovely place.

The best Turkish food I have ever had, exceptional good than any places I visited. My family used to go there for dinner for many years. Even the price increased a lot, it doesn’t stop me going back with friends and families. Warm welcome, nice place and excellent services. I have tried every dishes on the menu. Never been disappointed for once.

Best Turkish restaurant in London, even better than my recent visit to Turkey 🇹🇷 Service is 5/5 Ordered the grilled mushrooms and grilled onions (off the menu but a must try), the Turkish pizza and the Ezme salad with pomegranate sauce with cheese and grilled garlic and lemon prawns 🍤 which were served with potato and salad absolutely amazing combination! For mains ordered the jumbo platter, enough for 4 people. Platter includes ribs, soft and juicy, lamb chops which isn’t your typical small 2 bite chop, this is almost as big as a piece of steak, chicken wings soft and fall off the bones with a hint of bbq, grilled chicken and lamb soft and delicious, served with rice and doner meat with and grilled tomatoes, must try if you are coming with a large group. Their sauces are fabulous with the garlic and chilly adding an extra bit of taste 😋 I have been to this restaurant approximately 10 times and it never disappoints! Oh and their deserts are the best in town, the kunafe and Turkish rice pudding a must try! At the end the meals are served with Turkish tea ☕️ My favourite Turkish restaurant!

What a lovely welcoming restaurant with a great atmosphere. It was early evening and already quite full but they found a spot for us. The food was really nice and we had an overall enjoyable experience. If you’re in the area I would highly recommend a visit.

I've always been going here until today, but this time the waiters are not very interested, no one turns to look at the table, but you have to call loudly, the kebabs were not as delicious as they used to be, I think it changed hands, when I walked in, half of it was empty, it used to be packed on Sundays,

If anyone would like to reward the staff for the service received with an amount of money, please ask the staff to remove the Dine In Fee from your bill and leave them tips specifying who should get them.

When I go to a Turkish restaurant, I immediately thought of mixed grill platter and this restaurant definitely top the notch! You can ask for bread and salad to refill as complimentary if you have the stomach to eat all that and the meat platter! The meat was juicy and tender. Not only that, the sauces they come in the bottle were just extraordinary. Spicy sauce was just divine! My wife and I poured more than half of it to our plate. Goes really well with the meat. Overall, great experience. The restaurant has plenty of space and get busy during evening. I was there around 5.30pm with my 15 months infant, we were given a corner area for us and felt really comfortable. Suggest to call in advance to get a table secured! Price may be a bit high but I think with the quality of meat and the condiments that come with it, it’s definitely worth it. The restaurant does a lot of other Turkish dishes to select as well. So you won’t come in with nothing to eat for sure 😄
