This is the best restaurant in London

Arrived with family after 10pm Saturday to have some desserts. Ordered Kunefe and a hazelnut choc dessert, when they arrived the Kunefe was cold and the cheese was clumpy, looked like they served us a dessert that must have been sitting around sometime, we requested a replacement and when this arrived although warm and cheese stringy when curating in to the Kunefe, they had burned the sides, as shown on picture. Management how can you get a traditional Turkish dessert soo wrong???, please sort this out or risk losing loyal customers.

This is the first time in 33 years that I have witnessed parsley being added to the doner kebab. I can't say what I like

Delicious food, one of the best in the area. Fast service even when busy. We got the bundle offer as it was a lot of us, worked out pretty cheap per head. Will definitely visit again

Delicious food, service a little lacking. Plenty of staff around, but had to keep getting waiter and waitresses' attention, which was a little annoying, but they were otherwise polite and very helpful once we got their attention. .

Gokhan sorted me out with special liver with hummus (arnavut cigeri?),off menu, and it was the best I’ve had in London. Incredible Turkish food.

I have tried the Chingford and Walthamstow restaurants of this chain and found the food excellent. It was only on leaving the restaurant that I realised that the food was average, which got lost in the ambience and atmosphere of the establishment, plus the company around the table. Food plain and under seasoned.

Had a lovely dinner here. We got a platter to share between the 5 of us and with all the dips, bread and salad it was enough! The only downside was that it was incredibly loud and it was really hard to have a conversation. It was a great night overall and I would recommend!

We went for dessert whilst it was quiet. The dessert was great. Would recommend all.

£83 for lunch for 2,-1 starter to share,2 mains,1 water to share.Food quality was good,but portions on small side,and price tag doesn’t justify the lunch,with service charge on top.On top of that parking around there difficult and £9.50 for 2 hours

We arrived last night we was asked how many people my husband said three we was told to wait we waited over 30 minutes others were coming in no reservations because we could here them when my husband asked why we hadn’t been seated they said they didn’t remember we wanted to eat so we was told to wait again we left the restaurant and went over the street we was seated instantly this is not good customer service and we probably won’t return

The best donner I had in a very long time! Mixed donner so tasty and the portion was very generous. Lovely dinner, definitely will be back when in the area

The food was terrible, we couldn't eat the meat doner out of anger, we chewed it like gum in our mouths, unfortunately the garbage skewers were uncooked, they brought us in a hurry, but we waited for an hour... you failed the class, SORRY!!!

Service was erratic but friendly, took ages to get water nevermind anything else. Flat Bread was very heavy and doughy. The rest of the food was lovely and filling. It was very good value for money. The atmosphere and the establishment was busy, well kept, very clean and very cozy.

Excellent food and service but is really overpriced and they seem to have no restraint on how frequent it changes and just keep on pushing up prices after many years as loyal customer i will be going elswhere.

Food is always fantastic and there’s plenty of it - service is quick and helpful. It’s very loud and busy inside so don’t expect quiet ambiance.

I ordered takeaway just before 11pm and will never go back. The hygiene could be improved. I was watching them prepare food and the waiters were picking up salad from the food containers behind the counter and eating it in front of my eyes God knows that they do when customers are not around if this is what they do when customers are there! I left with a not very good impression to be honest. I was thinking it’s a big place and a nice environment but I don’t trust them. . Now I know some people are thinking it’s no big deal but it speaks volumes about how a place is run. If. Food is good but I wish they would focus more on hygiene. I visited again on the 21 march and the cutlery had fingerprints. Basic hygiene guys. It’s the first thing you learn if it’s a good pace to eat. Every knife on the table for all three of us had a thumbprint. No lessons learned from Covid? We moves upstairs. Same. This tells me it is a place that lacks proper training on basic hygiene.why? They know nothing about hygiene. No one taught them.

As a regular customers, this time was a disappointment on food, burnt, hard meet as a rock I was shocked from the horrendous food that was served today. On the other hand, their service was decent but theres no welcoming no smiling or at least a grin on their faces there were more disappointments. But the positive side to their issues the atmosphere of the place was outstanding as well as the vibes were astonishing.

Very nice and testy food, staff is very polite and helpful. I have been in this restaurant many times while visiting my daughter.

The prices are ok, not super cheap but not too expensive. Extremely slow delivery. Average food, everything is too sour, not a lot of vegetables and sauces.

Amid the excellent reviews, I thought I would try this place for the second time and unfortunately, AGAIN, the order was wrong. I had ordered the vegetarian option of the stew and bulgar wheat. It was only when I got home that the order was wrong. I had to throw away £12 into the compost bin. A meat stew and rice. I could not go back to replace the order, being that I live a few train stops away from Green Lanes.

Really enjoyed the selections here. The Mixed Platter was delicious and the wait for the food wasn’t long. The chicken was good but the lamb portions were the star of the platter. The colorful mixed salad was the perfect side, and the passionfruit mojito was one of the best mocktails I’ve had. Overall, a cool spot for Turkish food.

An amazing Turkish restaurant that offers delicious food, distinctive flavours, fresh meat and reasonable prices. It is best to go before six in the evening because it will be crowded and you will have to wait a quarter or half an hour for the table. The restaurant is a little far away. You can take bus number 274. It has a lot of food, but the best thing is that they have a mixed grill plate with rice and bulgur for four people.

Went here on valentines day and the atmosphere was lively. Food was amazing, very good quality cooked to perfection. It’s slightly on the pricey side, however you will not be disappointed. Would highly recommend. The bread and salad was very fresh which is also given complimentary

Meat lovers paradise. It is always packed and tells you about the popularity of this place. However, it is not as good as it used to be before (2 years ago). We ordered beef sausage, meat platter, lamb chops, chicken doner and chicken pide. The beef sausage was not as good quality as it used to be before. Felt like eating fried spam from tin. The chops and platter were excellent though.

First time trying this place. Unfortunately food was average food arrived luke warm. The sauces tasted like nando sauces. Don't think I'd be trying this gaff again.

Some of the best Turkish food in London. Not expensive like some of the places in Soho however, just as good. You won't leave hungry ever, unless you order wrong. Mixed grill platter for 2 a winner.

Lahmacun is oily, tasteless, uncooked meat looks raw, paca soup is terrible, it doesn't taste like yoghurt, the sauce is missing, the meat is stale, this is the first time I've seen something like this, please fix the lahmacun, the soup is very bad, your chef should drink it.

I have been eating in this restaurant since 2013 and I can definetly say that it is the best of best.Especialy restaurant manager Ender very kind and helpful he is amazing.

It does gey busy in the evening, well when we went there so it took a bit of time get a full table for all 6 of us. Since there were many people, it took more than a snap of the fingers to get a waiter by our table. But it was really good experience.

Take out lamb shish was perfect. Their rice is not bad, bread and salad can be better

All their food was divine, as was the service. The staff accommodating with my family of 9 and was able to get us all in after only a 20 min waiting time. Yes, price was on the higher end, but it was in line with the rest of the area. It was also made worth it thanks to the quick food service and everything cooked and seasoned to perfection.

Food is outstanding! The king prawns are fresh and scrumptious. And you must try the traditional dessert, ‘Kunefe’ so yummy! It’s a shame I didn’t take any more pictures. However, I give this place 10/10✨

It’s ok, but not my fav. The bread is a little dry and they don’t finish off on the grill like the others, they also will only sell a large doner if you eat in. Even though they sell for takeaway, which is too much food for most. Shame, as all the others on the road offer the choice. Nice salad.. chilli sauce from a bottle, feels a bit like Nando’s. 6/10 From me.

Waren am 24.12. dort. Hatten keine Reservierung, wurden nach 30 Minuten warten erst gesetzt, was verständlich ist. Es war gut besucht und alles Tische waren voll. Mitarbeiter waren stets freundlich. Ambiente war ganz ok. 1 Tee geht aufs Haus, dannach muss man Zahlen. Haben ein İskender und ein Adana bestellt. Adana war ganz ok. İskender war katastrophal, kein Geschmack und keine Würze. Daher war der Teller so gut wie ungerührt, 3/4 war noch drauf. Preise waren dementsprechend seeehr teuer und nicht gerechtfertigt.

Great food, the platter we had for two was massive and cooked perfectly. Can't fault that however, the staff didn't seem happy at all, very moody and cracking a smile wouldn't hurt when service charge is included. They took so long to even take drinks ordered. I normally tip more than the service if it was at least half decent. Not on this time.

Gokyuzu offers an authentic taste of Turkish cuisine. However, recent adjustments to prices and portion sizes have left me somewhat disappointed. The beloved lamb chop soup, once more affordable and generously served, now arrives in a smaller bowl with a higher price tag of £10 through Deliveroo. I hope the restaurant addresses these concerns, as it impacts the overall dining experience. Despite this, Gokyuzu remains a go-to spot for those craving genuine Turkish flavors in London.

This restaurant used to be one of my favorites akong with Hala but greed took over. Prices have nearly doubled in 5 years, which is absolutely not normal. Chicken wings cost 17£ now!! You can get them everywhere else for around 10£. Maybe they want you to save the Turkish economy by eating there. The restaurant was nearly empty at lunch. No wonder.

First of all the food here is gorgeous, and the portions are huge. This is easily some of the nicest meat I've ever had. Just delicious. I give the food a 10/10. No notes. I would say that the prices are fairly high, but for the amount of food you get (and the complimentary bread and salad) do kind of make up for it. However, for a place which is casual they were still higher then I would expect. But like I said, the quality of the food is exceptional so you can be the judge of whether it's worth it or not. I would say the downsides are the venue and the staff. The acoustics aren't the best and it can get quite loud and noisy inside. I also really wish that restaurants would ban parents playing videos out-loud on their phones or tablets for their children. My dining experience wasn't improved by listening to Bluey play on the table across from us. The service from the staff could also be improved, some of the wait staff seemed downright sulky when serving us and service seemed rushed.

Over priced food and drink. The doner was horrible no taste and the hummus was watery without the usual creamy texture. Ridiculously overpriced for what you receive and the food is not great. Shish was tough and overall not good food at all. Wouldn't recommend or return. Plus to add insult they add a 10% service charge on top of your bill.

Mantı efsane! Lahmacun lezzetli. İkram salatayı bitirmeden kalkamıyorum. Mezeler de son gittiğimde sanki daha bir özenli hazırlanmıştı. Döner de kaliteli ve lezzetli. Food is 3 times more expensive than it used to be, and the quality has decreased a lot. Really sad, it used to be a great place where to eat

We ordered 2 chicken shish (17.99 each) - they arrived in prison style food trays, freezing cold, with 2 portions of rice in each tray. There were 4 cubes of cold chicken. This is half the portions on other Turkish restaurants. The chips were stale, the flatbread was cold and uncooked, not grilled. We rang to let them know our food was cold and they just said ‘it’s cold outside, what do you expect.’ I recommend ordering from Yildiz on blackstock road or Testi in Stoke Newington which are both exceptional Turkish restaurants with high service standards.

Expensive price for food quality

Overall pretty good. The meats were cooked superbly. I can't fault the team working the grill and on the donners. There were just a few things that took the edge of the overall experience that stopped me giving them a 5. The bread wasn't good, really stodgy and slightly on the stale side. They'd warmed it up to room temperature which didn't really help, had it been hot it might have improved it. We asked if we could swap the rice with one of the mains for chips and were told abruptly no! Not the end of the world, but it's a fairly common request that most of these types of establishment accommodate especially given that rice and chips are the exact same price on their menu. The salad they do is excellent but the dressing they cover it with is very sweet it almost tasted like a dessert. I'd definitely ask for it to be left out or on the side. Depending on your pallet. The décor is decent and the place is clean but when it fills up which it often does it's really hard to hold a conversation due to the noise levels. The acoustics were an after thought when they did the interior. That being said I wouldn't let any of these gripes stop me going back. I did like it, I just didn't like everything. It's a popular place for a reason.

Very slow service, we only got our drink when we were about to leave

First time back since the refurbishment. We loved this place. The food was great. We went for the full platter and struggled to finish it. The service wasn't bad. One of the waiters was very attentive. But, none of the female waitresses smiled or made any eye contact. They looked unhappy as if they didn't want to be there. It didn't stop us having a good time, and we will definitely be back.

I highly recommend this restaurant. Very tasty fresh food . The portions are generous and the service is excellent. You are served a fresh green salad , fresh flat bread and sauces upon arrival.We had some cold mezzo followed by skewers of chicken and kefta. All delishhhhh Thanks Gökhan :D
