Proper best of British! I had the cheese and onion pie with mash, gravy and eels. Delicious! Authentic London in a fantastic ambient setting with friendly staff.

Some of the best pies in London. The price is unbeatable. The queue might look daunting but it clears fast. They have both veggie and meat options.

Pie was good but not the best, however the rhubarb crumble was the best I've had outside someone's home. If you're hankering after eel pie and mash head to Manze's. International crowd due to Greenwich tourists.

First visit to England, first Pie & mash, and Goddards did not disappoint. The food was great and the prices were likely the most reasonable of anywhere we ate during our stay. It is a bit out of the way from touristy central London, but that's a positive. Will definitely make time for Goddards on my next trip.

It's nice to have a decent pie and mash fresh made and Goddard's Greenwich is one of the best places to do it they have good variety (meat or fruit ) genuine south London right down to the floorboards a home from home as is said would recommend it .

I've not had a good pie and mash like this one in years. Had steak and kidney which is the most difficult pie to make and it was full marks. I'll definitely visit again when in the area.

Love pretty much everything about this place: traditional vibe, unbeatable value, friendly service, market location, however the food, although high quality and comforting, can be on the bland side if you don't get your order right. Takes some experimentation to land on a winner (chilli beef & gravy for me).

I guess it's a controversial opinion but the Beef Mash & Pie with liquor wasn't that remarkable to me. Maybe I'm not familiar enough with British cuisine but it tasted like a simple meal and like another recent reviewer wrote, a bit watery and not much taste. But I must say, the staff are some of the most hard working and polite gems out there, which made up for it for me personally.

Absolutely lush !! The service from the two girls tonight was A* you could tell they enjoy their job and the interaction with customers !! Top tip about the chilli vinegar also really made the taste of my steak and kidney pie ,mash and liquer pop !! Shame I was full as the pies and crumbles also looked delicious 😋

Fantastic experience, really delicious pies and eels, big portions and cheap as chips. Desserts were delicious, massive and cheap as well. Really friendly service. Felt like a real traditional pie shop, no frills but good honest food. The only downside was that it was very warm inside, but that deffo wouldn't put me off going again, I shall be back!

After a perfect visit in November we treated ourselves to an online delivery. Brilliant - they came this morning and we’ve just had amazing pie mash and liqueur - we’re now deciding how many of the rest of the order to freeze but already we’re wanting to scoff more tomorrow . Fantastic to be able to have them at home - will keep us going till our next visit 👍

I tried this "legendary" London mainstay. TWICE. It has NO taste. Everyone in our party agreed - this can't be right, can it? But I came here 2x PRO: - Cheap, big portions CON: This has zero taste. Can't be a fluke since I came here 2 separate times. NO taste at all, might as well be water SUMMARY: I see all the reviews but when everyone who ate it with me (from 3 different countries, including UK) agreed that this was tasteless, I can't recommend it sadly.

Great Pie and Mash! I was served by a WONDERFUL young man called Reuben, who's warmth and demeanor really lifted my day (after my hamster died (RIP)). After interacting with him, the pie tasted that much better (5 stars better). I will definitely be visiting again, and if Reuben is there, I may just cry. With happiness.

Great wee restaurant serving the London classic of pie and mash. Excellent atmosphere and the food was phenomenal. Filling and hearty. A must visit and one I will definitely return to.

A meal and hot drink for less than £6 😭 And it’s excellent too. Any nearby pub will get you less quality than this for double the price. Were all restaurants like this in the olden days 😭

All 4 staff standing around having a mother’s meeting while I clearly wanted to be served standing at the till. Waited and waited until finally got served over they finished their conversation. Clearly the customer doesn’t come first here. On the plus side the pie and mash was great.

There are quite a few pie and mash shops in London do yourself a favour and miss this one . Just a mince pie you could buy in any supermarket mash had a sour taste the liquor was powdery

Goddards' menu primarily features their signature minced beef pie and both jellied and stewed eels. However, they also offer a variety of other pies, including two vegetarian options, and I learned that their onion gravy and mash are suitable for vegetarians and vegans. This eatery is a must-visit for anyone in Greenwich or hosting guests in London who are eager to experience authentic cockney cuisine.

We have been coming here for years. Always a great atmosphere, good mixture of locals & tourists. Staff are fantastic, always service with a smile. Food is excellent, good selection of pies including Mince beef, Chilli beef, Lamb, Chicken and Soy Vegan mince pies. Plenty of room to eat in, takeaway also available. In the summer, we get a takeaway and eat in Greenwich Park, what's not to love.

They say on the website they have gluten free pies, but after waiting in the queue for 15 minutes they said they don't have gluten free pies. Being coeliac is not a choice like being vegetarian or vegan, is a disease. Unacceptable

My first time visiting for dinner on Saturday and this will be my go to whenever I'm in the area. The pies are incredible (sweet and savory), the prices are of something from 2002. Most importantly, the staff are what makes this place so charming. They make you feel like you're at your friend's parents house for dinner who you've known for decades. Also, they've got a homemade chilli sauce that'll make your ethnic grandmother proud. Have a go and let it almost ruin your night.

It was ok. Food was good and fresh and plenty of it. Ordering it felt rushed and needing to carry a full tray of food and drinks up steep stairs wasn't something I had anticipated.

Having grown up in the east end I know a thing or 17 about Pie Mash, I was privileged enough to grow up on Cookes in Broadway Market (I shed a tear the day that closed). Goddards is a bit more up market with their pies which to me defeats the purpose of pie mash. That being said if you take that aspect away the food is good, the mash is as it should be (no butter no milk) and the Liquor is pretty good. The pies are tasty and they do have a good variety. I will he eating here again for sure but I do miss my Cooksies.

Real London, Old London all in a wonderful location. As a Londoner, it's lovely to indulge in original London grub. Beats the burger joints, etc out of sight

You'll have your food within minutes, cheap as you'll get in London. Don't over think it too much. What pie do you want, mushy peas or beans, gravy or liquor? Add a drink and you're done.

We had two pies with mash and gravy along with two beer. All for less than £20 in the heart of a very busy Greenwich Market. Excellent pie and mash, quick service and their desserts are huge! We tried a chicken and ham pie, steak and kidney pie and shared a blackberry crumble! All were top quality and very filling. The pies had excellent filling with plenty of meat and tasty gravy! We will be back and will happily bring visitors with us.

Goddards was busy which is usually a good sign for a food establishment. The pie and mash was very nice and I would have that again. Clean premises and friendly staff, reasonable price.

Such a great value for money! We loved the 'Peppered Steak Pie' with mash and gravy. It was probably one of the best pies I've ever had. You won't be able to get a meal for 2 anywhere else for £12 (plus a tea)! Great option if you want a traditional, hot meal in Greenwich! 🥧 Really quick service too!

This place was the best food I ate my entire trip....and the less expensive. The service was fast and they were so nice...this place was suggested by Love and London (check her out on YouTube) if you have plans to travel to London. I could have ate here every day but don't mind me I'm a potato lover and their mashed potatoes were off the chain....So when I come back to London I'm searching for an Airbnb close to this restaurant. Good food and fast service....I want to try everything on the menu....

Tourist nightmare. No taste in the food and noisy service.

Absolutely spectacular view of the city. An absolute must do when you in London. You don't need to go in to the Greenwich me center, there is a photo opportunity point just to the side of the center, go through the one way gate and meander a few steps down.

I watched a London food review on YouTube a few weeks ago that mentioned Goddard’s so when I was in Greenwich, I had to give it a try. My wife and I were not disappointed. Kate had the lamb n mash with a beer and I had the beef n mash. The gravy was superb. What a shame I’m flying out of England tomorrow… otherwise I would be back for the peppered steak pie.

We had to try this place after seeing it over and over on TikTok, Google, and YouTube. It’s traditional pie and mash. For me it was just ok. That’s because it’s basically an American pot pie. It was good. Just not amazing like all the reviews said.

I tried their traditional British day menu, mash and pie. It tastes surprisingly good and is not expensive. Portion sizes, though, are not impressive. Recommended if you want to sample British cuisine, less so if you want to have a filler.

Worth the flight to England alone! Best meal I have ever had in my life!! Come hungry. It’s a lot of food.
