Goa in Dundee City

Starters were excellent, and from there meal.went downhill. Not one of the mains ordered was correct. My rice was stone cold, so sent it back. Rice was returned but not the other half of the main. So the other replacement was given, and the two curries tasted totally different. The chicken was in tiny pieces and obviously reheated and hard. All the Nan breads were burnt on the base. We at least got £30 off the bill. The service was poor beyond belief. To be honest, it's one of the worst curry experiences ever. So never again. I would suggest looking elsewhere with good food and excellent service.

And let's not forget about the garlic mushroom - a simple yet exquisite dish that perfectly complemented the other bold flavours on the table. The service at Goa was impeccable, with attentive staff who went above and beyond to ensure that my dining experience was nothing short of perfection. In conclusion, dining at Goa was a culinary journey through the vibrant and diverse flavours of Asia, especially Bangladesh and India. I would highly recommend this restaurant to anyone looking to indulge in authentic Bangladeshi and Indian cuisine.

A huge selection to choose from and the staff are friendly and very efficient. I had a chicken curry and the food was very, very good. I highly recommend giving Goa a try and you won't be disappointed.

Got a takeaway from here. Large portion sizes, struggled to finish it all! Excellent taste, my dish was really flavourful and my husbands had a good kick to it. Definitely would order from here again. Out teenagers really enjoyed the food which is rare!

We had such a wonderful evening at Goa. The service was friendly and engaging, and also really attentive. The food was lovely, very tasty and high quality. The restaurant was buzzing with customers and staff chatting to each other, great fun atmosphere. I especially liked the garlic starter sauce and was brought an extra little pot with my main meal which was delicious and much appreciated. We'll be back, very soon and more than once I suspect! I’ve been in many Indian restaurants in theUK and abroad as well as eating Pakistani home cooking but this place takes the biscuit. The food is attractive, varied and excellent, staff very friendly, helpful, intuitive and attentive. (Not overly so). The atmosphere is good and the seating comfortable. All in all an excellent place to dine out. We will certainly go back. Probably worth a phone call to book as I’m sure it will be very busy most evenings.

What a great find this was! Very authentic and delicious masala's, combined with excellent service earns top marks! Everything was fresh and served perfectly, with great suggestions from our knowledgeable waiter. I thoroughly recommend you visit if you are visiting Broughty Ferry/Dundee... well-worth it! 😊👌

Waited for our food for 1 hour while everyone else is getting served starters through mains through desserts.

We have been going to goa for years and usually it’s good and I can’t get over Terrible delivery experience we had and the customer service we had last night. We ordered our food for 5:45pm on arrival to collect they said there was a mistake and that it was ordered for 6:45pm (they were more focused on there restaurant than the service of there takeaway customers),we had a taxi running outside so had to leave we were told our food will be delivered shortly and not to worry… wow were they wrong! It reached 7:30 and still no sign. We called several times and no one would answer, eventually after numerous attempts when we got someone we asked to speak to the manger and the excuses of why we couldn’t were absolutely shocking! “There in, there not in, there on holiday, in hospital, nope there coming in” We were told again on the phone the food is on route this was at 8:30pm and they hung up on us. The food arrived at 9pm and the order was completely wrong undercooked and most of it ended up in the bin the samosas had not been cooked and nan was not cooked. I am just absolutely stunned at the lack of customer care from the staff and we were not even refunded a penny or even offered extra food or just anything! Overall I will not be wasting my money again with this place and from what I can see on trip adviser I’m not the only one recently to have this terrible experience, Goa you need to have a serious look at how you train your staff to talk to customers and how to provide a resolve and deliver a service that your promising with delivery times and correct orders

Absolutely awful service. We got a takeaway delivery we ordered at 5:30pm and it did not get delivered until 8:26pm. We phoned the restaurant multiple times and no answer. We also contacted the facebook messenger page with no answer either. Once the order came it was missing x3 things. Absolutely shocking. Next we will time order from somewhere else.

Although it says that it's an Indian restaurant, I suspect that it's either Pakistani or Bangladeshi as unfortunately the meat was all halal which we don't eat so we had prawn and vegetarian dishes. They were excellent though.

Spot on again! When my husband and I visit Broughty Ferry my husband and always try to visit Goa as the food and service are excellent. Last night’s visit was no different, freshly prepared food, value for money and friendly attentive service.

Amazing food, amazing staff and very welcoming. Young girl that served us (26/02/2024) was lovely and very polite. Gentleman offered us complimentary drinks 🍸 which was a lovely gesture.

Beautiful meal. I had the vegetable karahi with garlic and chilli naan,which was delicious. The service was fast and efficient, the staff were pleasant and the food was freshly cooked and fantastic. It's one of the nicest curries I've had for a long time.

What was to be a lovely Valentines Dinner turned out to be a disappointment. Mediocre Indian Food at a very Costly price ( The Online Website fails to state that the ‘Menu’ Prices listed are for Carry Out and Delivery only. Instead of being allowed to relax and enjoy a drink to start with - We were continually interrupted by the waiter to take a food Order. This resulted in what we tried to prevent - The Meal arriving before we were half way through our Drinks. Felt we were being rushed through our meals to get more tables ready and available ! Our Table was cleared and cleaned as we tried to finish drinks. Have enjoyed Indian Meals at restaurants for many years now - but will give this establishment a swerve in future.

Had a lovely Valentine's meal courtesy of the friendly and attentive staff. The restaurant was beautifully decorated for the occasion, and the food was second to none. This was our first visit and we'll definitely be going back. Thank you Goa :)

Went to Goa on valentines night, the attention to detail was amazing, red roses on each table heart balloons around the restaurant they really went all out to make it romantic. The service and food was AMAZING as always. Highly recommend and already planning my next visit.

I have always ordered a takeaway from GOA but never ate in the actual restaurant until tonight. The food was amazing (as suspected) and the staff were absolutely lovely and really attentive. Hands down the best Indian if not restaurant in the city. We have not had a bad experience and visit monthly. The home style curries are fantastic, fish pakora is a must try! I have yet to try better (huge portion). The staff are also what make it, service is always efficient. The countless awards speak for themselves!

Our family of five had Christmas dinner at Goa. We’ve eaten there before and really enjoyed our food, but I was slightly apprehensive that our experience might be different at Christmas. I needn’t have worried - service, food and atmosphere were all wonderful, with the usual friendly waiting staff who coped brilliantly with a packed 2pm sitting. The food was delicious and when my daughter discovered her wine glass (which was full of wine by that time) had someone else’s lipstick on it, they very kindly and generously brought us a free bottle of wine along with the clean glass. We had a lovely experience and will try to visit more often in future.

Takeaway is a nightmare! They are terrible at answering phone calls. And when your order is cancelled, they don’t inform you of it disrupting your plans. This has been a recurring problem happening for some time now. Good food will only take you far without good service.

I had the pleasure of trying the takeaway chicken Karachi and garlic Naan bread from Goa Restaurant last Friday, and I must say, it was an incredibly satisfying experience. Placed an order at 5.15pm. Told it would come at 6.45pm. This was then updated to 7.05pm. We were then told it wouldn't come until 7.55pm!! THEN they cancelled the lrder. Sadly Goa has lost a customer. Terrible service and 100% dont recommend to others. AVOID.

Goa always delivers, their food is exceptional and always fresh. Even ordering to collect and driving back to Dundee, the food will always stay hot. The service is top class when going for a meal. I would highly recommend this Indian, the best by a country mile. I wouldn’t go anywhere else but Goa.

Food was amazing. When I went to order I could see it was 20 minutes to collect but after placing the order it was even longer to 55mins. We got the time for collection for 18:40, when I got there at 18:40 the food was not ready. I asked how long it would be as there was 7 other people in front of me. I was told 5-7 minutes but the food did not come until 19:25. There was no apology it was so busy and I waited so long, I just wanted to get out. Also while I was waiting I could see and hear they were still taking orders. I understand being 10/15 mins late but to be 40/50 minutes late and still taking orders is just ridiculous!!! One guy had been waiting well over an hour for his collection.

We booked here for a busy Saturday night. The place was bustilng and the atmosphere warm and welcoming. Probably the best Indian cuisine I have ever had in Scotland. Easy to see why the have won so many awards.
