We drove from Melrose to Edinburgh just to taste the food from this lovely restaurant. Me n my husband love our Goan food it feels homely. It was worth a one hour drive to Edinburgh. The food was lovely, more over the Goan owner of that shop she was very welcoming . For a moment we felt like we were back in Goa. I guess it’s not just the food I mean of course the food was delicious, mouth watering but the customer service was beautiful. She made us feel welcomed in a Goan style 😅 . I would definitely recommend every Goans to visit this place and try our Goan food from here . Ordered through Uber Eats, we tried loads of dishes, naan, rice, desserts etc and the quality & taste was exceptional. We will definitely be ordering here again soon.

Went on Sunday night, my colleague knows Roy the owner and both are from Goa. Had Mom’s King Prawn curry never had such a tasty mea, cooked to perfection, no heat just flavour. Getting the Dhaba butter chicken tonight, can’t wait for it to arrive. Wish Roy would move to Glasgow 😂😂

Met Roy after many years. Amazing food with great taste. Mouth watering menu felt like being in Goa and enjoying the food. Friendly staff and good service 👍🙌

Excellent food. Always super tasty. Always hot on arrival and usually arrives sooner than advertised. The delivery man is a lovely and cheery. All round excellent food and excellent service. I’ve only given 1 star for atmosphere but it was a delivery so there was no atmosphere but the service was great

This is my first time eating here since they opened (or reopened?) Today and the food is incredible. The Mumbai Samosa Chaat, Goan King Prawn Chilly Fry and Miramar Sev Papdi Chaat is delicious and thank you for the complimentary goan peas Pulao dishes was outstanding. The food is fresh, the combination of spices are spectacular and the presentation is superb. I will certainly come back to try another of the many dishes that they offer. Very thankful for his passion that brought the best to town. All the best to him and his team. Wish the food keeps getting better, the business bigger and hope the quality of remains the same.

The vegetable chettinad from go goa was bursting with flavors and had a great variety of fresh veggies, making it a delightful and satisfying.In love with that.

Recently moved back to Edinburgh and looking for a good local Indian takeaway, first place I tried was pretty rubbish and 'Go Goa' were the second. Ordered from here when my parents were up visiting and we all really enjoyed the food. We had a couple of mains from the Goan section of the menu, some dall, vegetable pakora, rice and naan. Everything was delicious! Best pakora I've had and everything was excellent. I couldn't say anything negative at all, delivery was in good time and very friendly guy, prices very reasonable. I will definitely be ordering again, I think I've found my 'Go (Goa) to' place. Looking forward to trying some more dishes. Really excellent, thank you Go Goa!

We ordered multiple times, food is always good and staff always friendly

I'm not going to criticise to much as it was tasty, but it's not 'freshly' cooked & I don't mean not fresh, but it's clearly pot sauce/gravy, although was nice, but would have expected some fresh herbs/spices chucked in at least. Prawns were large & nice. Paneer is not home made, it's the squeaky supermarket paneer if you are ok with that then fine. Ok value- a lot of sauce- could have been bulked out more with some fresh veg. Would I order again- probably not tbh.

One of the best Indian/Goan cuisines in the whole of UK, hats off to Chef Roy. The Lamb Xacuti was to die for while the Chicken Salcete is an excellent blend of spices and something to devour. The Chicken Machurian was made in the traditional Goan style and the Chicken 65 was crispy and juicy. It was a wonderful experience ordering food from here. This is must try if visiting Edinburgh.

Best ever food in the UK. Nothing can come close to their flavours. The adraki dal tadka is my absolute favourite. Chicken Xacuti and naan were absolutely flavoursome. And, the rice was long grain and perfectly steamed. The size of the naan is quite big and is enough for one. The portions are generous and the flavours are authentic.

Beautiful take away meal. Out first time to have Goan Food and we were blown away by the quality & flavours of our meal. The portions were so generous with each dish having a completely distinct flavour. Couldn’t recommend Go Goa highly enough. 5⭐️

Highly recommended. The best Indian food takeaway we have ever had. Meat in chicken and lamb dishes were moist and beautifully cooked and all the dishes had distinct and delicious flavours. Vegetable options like the aubergine dish were a delight. And the naan breads were especially fantastic. Our go to place from now.

Superb place for goan and indo Chinese food.. we absolutely love the fried rice, schezewan fried rice, chicken manchurian, chicken lollipops and veg caldin. Would love to have more goan dishes like croquettes, cafreal, prawns or fish caldin. Owner and chef Roy Is extremely friendly and customises as per our preference. Would highly recommend this place if you’re a foodie from India and looking for authentic Indian food.

Exceptional Goan feast that left our taste buds dancing with joy! The Chef's culinary skills are truly commendable. The complimentary dessert was the perfect sweet note to an already delightful Christmas meal. Kudos to the Chef for creating such a memorable dining experience. Highly recommend! ❤️

This was some of the most delicious food I have ordered in a LONG time. I will definitely be back. Everything was cooked to perfection. Delivery was on time and they gave me free rice! Ten out of ten!!!

Tried for the first time recently, and it was genuinely the best Indian takeaway we've ever had. Lamb incredibly soft, dahl makhani and biryani 10/10, xacuti sauce a new find for us, all delicious. A new regular for sure.

Take away food, so no real 'atmosphere' 😁. But, excellent food, and the staff work very hard to get everything just right. Great value too.

An absolutely incredible hidden gem! The food here is, without a doubt, up there with the best Indian food I've had. I love the fact they also showcase the food of Goa - this is new for me but I absolutely love it! Normally I play it safe when it comes to an Indian (korma or butter chicken are my go-to, even though I love spice) but at Go Goa, I've changed up my order every time and haven't regretted it once. The owners, Roy and Valentina, are so passionate about what they do and the food they cook. They're a joy to speak to and if you have any questions about the menu, they love answering them! It's worth the 20 minute drive for us!

So impressive. My 1st order was: Mumbai Samosa Chaat, Margao Veg Caldin, Adraki Dhaba Dal Tadka, Saffron Pulao Rice, Plain Naan with Pappadums (all vegetarian). I can't rate the food highly enough. The Margao and Samosa Chat were standouts. The chaat felt very authentic with excellent flavours and fresh ingredients (pomegranate seeds, mint chilli paste, herbs and onion etc). Five stars for the food. So pleased this is just round the corner. The team at Go Goa were so friendly, enthusiastic and obviously passionate about the food and service they are providing. Can't wait to try some more from the menu. Tried the Ros Omelette this week which was delicious also. Thanks!

We ordered food from Go Goa recently and from the perspective of someone who was born and raised in Goa and surrounded by some of the best home cooked food, I can vouche for the Goan options we tried on the menu. These are authentic. It's nice to see the Goan choices on an Indian menu. I'll be back to try the rest of the Goan/ Indo Chinese options soon(except for Xacuti, dads got that one covered😂🙈).🙂

We had read good reviews of Go Goa so decided to give it a try we were not disappointed...lovely unusual menu ...my husband had biryani- delicious, I had chicken curry - lovely, will definately order again.

Chef Roy prepares every dish with a tremendous dedication to his craft. The food is authentic and every bite and morsel will transport you to Goa, the land of beautiful beaches, zesty spices and peppy and hospitable people. I’d recommend my favourites: The Mapusa Xacuti in Lamb, with Goan Salad, and steamed rice, the Goan Chicken Biriyani (accompanied with yogurt raita) is to die for!! The Aubergine Masala is lip smacking-ly good with its sweet and sour notes. And the (chickpea curry with coconut and roasted spices) called Chonyacho Roas, is another beautifully prepared vegetarian option. These spices have been roasted to perfection to bring out their rich and vibrant flavours, thanks to chef Roy and his team, who painstakingly put in the effort to create these culinary delights!! Bravo!!!

Lovely friendly family business. So happy to have found this place. At last a really good take away in this area. The flavours were fantastic and the food really fresh. My prawns were cooked to perfection .

Update: We love Go Goa so much that now it has become part of our monthly meal planning! We order at least 2 or 3 times a month and the most incredible part is - there is always something new to try. Really outstanding and the owners are wonderful people. So so happy that this has opened up the road from us. The owners Roy and Valentina are very friendly and passionate about what they cook. The food is some of the best that we have tasted, so much so that we have ordered something different every time so that we can eventually try everything on the menu! If I could give this 6/5 stars then I certainly would. Cant wait to be back!

Was really excited seeing the menu for this place. Totally different to most Indian restaurants in Edinburgh. Having ordered 3 times over the last month, I'm delighted to say that the taste is as good as the menu! Food is fresh, tasty and makes me want to try something different every time....even though that means missing out on what u had last time! Popped into collect and the guys are lovely. Super proud of what they're doing and they should be.

Unbelievable quality, have loved everything we've ordered and have been 5 or 6 times. Big favourite are the tandoori lamb chops and have lots of respect for Roy the chef who is not afraid to take something off the menu if he doesn't think the quality is good enough from suppliers. Have eaten a lot of Indian, Sri Lankan and Goan food in my time but Go Goa are right up there. If you're unsure what to order, give them a quick ring and you'll not be left disappointed. So glad to have them close by!

I’ve been here a few times now and every meal has been superb…the meals are so fresh and the perfect balance of spice that you can actually taste the food and not be overpowered by too much heat…I had a ros omelette today and was excellent….

Really enjoyed our meal.first time .indo Chinese fried rice and Manchurian chicken just like the beach huts in Goa. The chicken changenzi was delicious...just the right balance of spice tomato and cream with tandoori flavour from the chicken. Thanks to the owners Valentina and Roy for bringing quality to the Edinburgh curry scene. Looking forward to trying the other dishes on the menu

Amazing food. Great Vegan options too. The people are super friendly- I would go for the chat alone. Tried the Margao Veg Caldin, Hindu style Goan Eggplant curry, and Mumbai samosa chaat. All were delicious!

First time ordering here since mister India was taken over by them and sadly my last curry’s where very watery no flavour at all Nan bread also no flavour mister India was much better

Sadly we found our takeaway order to be very over salted. We could see the use of great spices but each of our three dishes was so salty that the other flavours were overwhelmed. Such a pity, but we wouldn’t order from here again

Wow! Had the best Indian take away tonight from Go Goa here in Duddingston. chef Roy & his family are just delightful, so nice & friendly. A great first impression experience when you walk in the door. I had the Mom’s Goan king prawn curry, Hubbie had the lamb & son the chicken biryani. There was also some delicately coconut flavoured rice to complement the prawn dish. All delicious & flavourful. Highly recommend!!

Excellent! Four different mains all honestly first class, side dishes fantastic as well. Superb value for money too. great addition to the neighbourhood. I personally had my 'go to' lamb madras, plenty of heat but not too fiery, nice and aromatic with lots of flavour. other dishes equally well received and obviously cooked to order. 100% will be back.

Recently refurbished takeaway under new ownership. We have ordered twice now over the last couple of weeks. Food very tasty & plentiful. Varied menu with a lot of traditional dishes. Good heat / spice! The staff are very friendly. The chef (owner) even popped out to thank me for my order & discussed the menu for future options. Will be back next week! Great addition to the area.
