I booked a table for 9 people all the way back in April this year for the 31st August to celebrate my mum's 60th and nieces 9th birthday with family. We arrived yesterday evening and we had to stand around by the doors for over 15 minutes before anyone even noticed we were there. Once they had she had to go and speak to another member of staff about where we were being seated before she could show us to our table. She came back 5 minutes later and had to rearrange a set of 3 tables right by the doors to accommodate for us all. Once she had finished we got shown to our seats and she said she would be back in 5 minutes to take our drinks order but she didn't return for 30 minutes . By then we were ready to order food as well as our drinks so we placed two different orders with the same server as we were paying the two bills separately. She took our full orders and then said she would be back shortly with our drinks. Over 20 minutes later she returned with a mixture of drinks with several still missing. So she said remind her what we was missing and then she went off to get the rest but didn't return for another 10 minutes. We then had to sit there keeping 5 child occupied for 1hour and 30 minutes before anyone of us received any food and they weren't even complicated meals. I received part of my order at the same time my family received part of theirs and then we had to all start eating separately to each other as there was still meals missing. Another 30 minutes went by with two children and one adult still missing their meals. We had enquired a few times about the missing meals and were told there was a delay. 2 hours after we arrived we finally received the last 3 meals and by then no one wanted to eat them. We were all freezing cold from the draught from the open doors behind were we had been sat for 2 hours. We then asked why they all came out at different times and why we had to wait for so long for simple meals and the only excuse we got was that because we had ordered from one table but on two separate receipts that the cooks in the kitchen hadn't read the receipts properly and hadn't cooked them in the correct order and had started cooking everyone else's meals in the restaurant instead and we just got the rest of our meals overlooked. Which is an absolutely shocking excuse for a restaurant. We overheard others complain several times, refuse to pay for their meals, ask for a discount etc and when they were told they can't discount any of the food regardless of the delays or how the food tasted and looked we were even more disgusted. Never in our lives have we ever gone out for dinner and had this kind of service so we all agreed to get up and walk out. We didn't pay for a single thing as almost 4 whole meals were wasted because they weren't nice and 5 meals were late, cold, greasy and horrible and weren't even touched. The kitchen staff who we're on shift on this day between 4:30pm and 7pm need to have some serious words with their management and they need some serious re training. We will never ever return to this restaurant and all the 20+ people who we witnessed walk out also will probably never return either. There comes a time when everyone has to admit defeat and unfortunately that should've been done last night before you lost customers.

horrendous wait for food we had to walk out and cancel our order as did other tables due to 1 and half wait on food which I personally feel is disgraceful service and do not know how the restaurant is still in business,

Don't bother took 50 minutes for meal to come family of six near us who came in same time were still waiting after 1hr 20 mins. Place was quiet not even busy. I ordered smothered platter with larger steak, when it finally arrived gujons were frazzled onion rings were cremated side of coleslaw missing and steak was 4oz and not 8oz as ordered. Staff were that scarce that by time I informed her I'd eaten the edible parts. Only got offered some more onio rings, like I said don't bother

Another business trip, meant another stay at the hotel attached to this Restaurant. Used the restaurant for breakfast and my server was Wayne and another female staff remember (didn’t know her name). Both were friendly and were obviously under a lot of pressure, especially having to deal with some very rude and demanding customers. Plenty of choice for food and drinks and very tasty. The only negative I have is there clearly needs to be more staff members if they are going to serve food to as many people that were in the restaurant at the time I was there.

It had been expected that one of us would be out of Barnsley for the evening- probably having a curry - but a change of plan allowed both of us to walk down to Table, Table. As it was Friday, we settled for Fish & Chips - one with garden peas and one with mushy peas. Mine was fine but my wife thought the batter on her fish was greasy, albeit the fish itself was lovely. Mine was fine but we did mention the batter to the manager. The well priced Vistamar Sauvognon Blanc went well with the meal - so an enjoyable walk out.

Lynette and Kyle have been absolutely amazing from our first visit.. Couple of hiccups (from other staff) but this pair have gone above and beyond for myself and business partner. 4th week of visiting and each and every time they have excelled. Appreciation for your eye to detail and memory.. Yes, I'm fussy but this never fazed either of the team.. Hi fives all round 🫶👌🏽

2nd time here but wouldn't go again. Small portions, burger dry, chips over cooked, jacket potato was awful with processed cheese and not great service. There was a table of 8 of us and none of us were that impressed

Really good morning spent at the Glass House, good food and friendly service from Amy.

Paid for 3hr parking in the multi storey car park as car park adjacent was at capacity. Made our way up the lifts at 1:30pm to find that the doors to the restaurant were locked. The sign on the door stated that that the restaurant opening times remained as they had always been. Spoke to the premier inn attached and was advised that the restaurant is closed but she would go find a manager. The manager confirmed that the restaurant is closed temporarily and when we mentioned the lack of signage in the car park (for those paying parking like us) and the fact that there was absolutely no indication of a temporary closure online we were told, “nothing more I can do or say really”. Appalling, really gone downhill since our last visit and wouldn’t recommend anyone to visit in the future. Would give 0 star if given the option!

Table table more like toilet toilet My convoy ordered for me and somehow managed to finish there food before my 2 slices of garlic bread that was deffo from microwave and don’t get me started on the chipotle chips, The potato was not even cooked and my Bowles after definitely were… I have never seen such a council house chilli in my life places upon cold microwaved potato’s that have never seen a chip pan before.. anyways my bf paid for this “food” because if it was me I would have asked for a refund and also my sanity back, anyways wouldn’t recommend but nice view 🫠

My family came to visit and treat us for tea but the food portions are so small. Ordered £13 burger and came with the same portion as 2 for £12. Also ordered club sandwich which wasn't toasted, there was no bacon and the bread was soggy because of the egg. The veggie Thai curry was nice tasting but only had a few carrots as the meat replacement and wasn't filling for £12. It was also freezing in the restaurant. Really disappointed 😞

2nd visit back here after staying at the attached hotel when visiting family. Breakfast wasn’t too bad, just very busy in the restaurant with children, think some sort of event was going off and it could’ve probably done with some more staff helping out the poor waiter Wayne. He did his best and remained calmed under pressure. Whilst the food took a little longer than last time to arrive it was still very nice.

Very slow service. Starter red hot main meal was Luke warm forgot cauliflower cheese said it would be another 5 minutes but I was half way through my meal by then. Churros was over cooked outside so hard. Wouldn't go again and only went as we had booked Toby originally but wouldn't add 2 to our party so had to book an alternative. For £30 a head I'd expect better

Went for mother days it took 3 and a half hours from start to finish mostly waiting for food they also forgot a desert which by this point we wanted to go home. Poor service

Me and my partner came here wanting a nice meal plain and simple...waitress was hanging on to life, took are drink and food order, waited ages for food and was very unsatisfactory with the portion size of food which couldn't fill a child let alone an adult even when a plate cost £13 each then still hungry so ordered dessert hoping to god it would fill me more then a happy meal but sadly not as the dessert was a slice of tesco finest cheesecake just with out the fine. Overall extremely over priced for the food and service.

Best dining experience I’ve had in a long time. The restaurant had a pleasing, calm atmosphere. Our server Amy was fantastic and made us feel welcome - nothing was too much trouble. The food was absolutely incredible. We chose the Sunday dinner and it was one of the best roasts I’ve had. A credit to Rowan and Jamie.

I had a stater withch was a garlic bread with out cheese and our mains where chicken tikka curry it was very tasty and hot it come with a propperdom and a nan bread it was so filling and my fraind had a clacic beef lasagne with chips and it was very yummy and scrummy in her tummy the lasagne was very sausey and the service was apparently brill Scott and rowan was out off this world 🌎 Scott was very friendly and helpful and he gose above and beyond as it was the first time we have been and will definitely be coming back thank you Abby and Lorraine xx

Arrived after a horrendous car journey in the storms to be greeted by Ebony who was super friendly and very patient explaining the meal deal in detail and showing me the wine available. She put me at ease and had me relaxing in moments. Thank you Ebony! Well done to the team. The food was basic but tasty. The wine was lovely! ☺️

Had a lovely Sunday lunch 😋. Yorkshire puddings were nice, honey roasted parsnips were very good, turkey, turnip mash, roasters and carrots n peas. Proper food done well. Would highly recommend.

A great atmosphere and welcoming staff and had a nice experience and the food was affordable and delicious. Special attention was made to ensuring we were comfortable and the starters were wonderful, the chicken wings were tasty and of an outstanding quality, the mains were of a high quality and the taste was phenomenal. Fantastic service from the staff as we were seated promptly, the waitress Kelly was friendly, attentive and responded quickly to additional requests for our food. Overall it was an outstanding experience and we will definitely return because of the amazing time we had, and my stepfather and mother were very satisfied with the service from the employees, particularly Kelly who was phenomenal throughout and a delight to be served by.

Come here for boxing day food and can say we will not be coming back the food was awfull. Roast potatoes were hard the gravy was like dish water and it was cold. As for the menu we got from them there wasn't any description on the food as everything had cranberry sauce on and the starter had horse raddish onit and no on like its if we'd of known we could of asked for it without it. And it cost us nearly 30 quid per person with side which defo not worth it it was like canteen food. Staff were friendly but the kitchen was slow to say was hardly anyone in at the time was there 2 half hour nearly

Food was lovely, standard pub grub but you can tell the chefs take pride in their work. Hot food well presented and tasty, what more could you ask for. The server, siobhan was so lovely, helping my very elderly mother in law from her seat and back again! The young Lad on the bar, harrison was great with the kids too and gave my youngest a quid for the toy machine. Can't fault anything at all

Went for a Christmas meal with around 20 people. It had been booked for weeks, and we even sent the food order in over a week in advance. We were one of only 2/3 tables eating, and the starters came out cold. The sides that came with the mains arrived after most had finished eating their main course, if they turned up at all. The food was tasty, but it would have been better to arrive at the same time as everything else. When we challenged the staff response was we make mistakes. And it was shrugged off. Staff don't care. It was evident from the service received.

Unsure if there have been staff changes, appear to be a few new faces and management and the place has certainly improved since.

There was a large party of us and 2 of the main meals were cold and the turkey felt like it was straight from fridge they took it back but my brother wouldn't eat after WILL NOT BE COMING AGAIN And will NOT recommend

The service and food were both excellent. Amy was our server and she couldn't do enough. Jamie was the chef he fetched our meals and again was very polite. All in all a great experience we will be dining here again.

So booked a table for Sunday carvery at 4 originally they pushed it back to 4.30 so we turned up to be told they had no carvery and they might be able to scrape one together absolutely shocking

Fantastic service by our waitress this evening. Unfortunately the food could have been better. My younger daughter asked for her burger to be served without cranberry sauce but it came with it anyway. My main course was not particularly hot. My elder daughter also commented that her food wasn't hot. Unfortunately when desserts came two of us who had ordered a dish with warm custard got vaguely tepid custard. Such a shame because I have had great food here previously.

Served by Kelly & Kyle. Always very friendly and helpful. Whilst the food came out a little slower than usual we were asked if we needed extra drinks and kept informed. Will visit again

Again, a lovely family meal tonight. Little Miss Sunshine Great Niece loved her 10 piece veg pasta. Couldn’t fault anything, friendly service & accommodating our large family group. Always smiles, always happy we will be back soon

Waited a while for food there was 4 of us 3 had the same meal all was cold, peas was hard my daughter got shell in her egg, not busy at all only 2 in aswell as us, told waiter about it said I will see what I can do went to pay and nothing not even a apology AVOID. To top it all off 2 of us have had a bad stomach.

We went on Friday evening. For food. It wasn’t busy. We had a long wait before our food order was taken. And it took a long time for our meal to arrive. The food wasn’t very tasty. It was a cold place. Both myself and my husband were cold. No soap in the toilets.

As I am partially sighted, I received a shock when I was asked if I wanted a menu in large print or braille. Not many places do this. The food prepared by Chef Andy was absolutely amazing. Very tasty and worthy of 5 stars. Whatever you do, don't lose that chef! The staff were also 5 star making sure our meal and drinks were perfect, and catered to our needs. They are friendly and polite. I really enjoyed having a meal out and I must admit, I will be back shortly. May have to make this a weekly outing.

If I could give -1 it wouldn't be low enough, we were shown to our table quickly but that's where it ends. We ordered drinks and looked at the menu whilst we waited for them to come. So food ordered just sit and relax and wait for our meal. Almost an hour later my partner spoke to a member of staff to enquire as to the whereabouts of our food. The gentleman that took our order eventually came to see us to say he was very sorry but he had failed to put our order into the kitchen. He then said the meal and drinks would be totally free of charge and that the food would be out in 5 minutes. 13 minutes later our food arrived with chips that were barely warm, a missing gravy jug and a side of onion rings. We barely had time to eat anything as we were due to watch a play at the theatre. We will not be visiting this restaurant again and would recommend everyone to give it a wide birth.

Spent the last 2 nights here with my assistance dog. The breakfast staff are an absolute credit to the team and are outstanding, the chefs lovely and checks everything’s okay with your meal and makes you feel right at home. Not the same experience meal while with the evening staff who have made me feel slightly uncomfortable when messing up the food order and then me being made to blame on their hick ups. Never the less once correct the food was lovely. Overall a really nice experience x

Had a Sunday lunch at the Glass house 24.09.23. I would say the food was of very poor quality, & Luke warm. Roasters were burnt. I paid for extra roasters, & Yorkshire puddings, but it took me to go to the bar, & ask for the extra puds & roaster’s. It does seem to be a trend with any restaurant that is tied to a Premier Inn that the food is substandard, or poor. This place could have potential if the food was piping hot, & of better quality. For £11.49, I would expect more value for money for that price, especially this day & age. Also, the furniture that I sat on were all worn & torn, please get more comfy, & suitable furniture that would give a much better presentation for the business.

Was hoping food had got better from 6 months ago so decided to try iy again omg it was awful what a waste of £37 .

this was my fitst time having a breakfast. the unlimited breakfast was really nice and the fact that you can choose it as you want it and how much was definitely a winner. Really worth a try, I will definitely be going back.

1hour 15mins to serve breakfast

This is our second visit to the Glass House. This time was for an 84th birthday & as every time before our experience was great. We returned because the staff always seemed to put our needs first. I would always recommend this venue any event x

Well it’s not a michelin star restaurant is it, it’s mainly there to serve the hotel and the meal deals are fairly good. A few things on the menu are really quite good such as cauliflower bites. The staff do try hard here and are friendly as you would expect in the S Yorks area

Absolutely awful service. Waited and waited and waited some more. There wasn't even a handful of tables yet it took 2 hours to have 2 courses. We had to search for someone to take our order. We left after waiting to pay 99p on our bill (meal deal from preimier inn) as it was taking too long. For them to then have the audacity to get preimier inn reception to come to our room 2 hours later so we would pay the bill of 99p. We don't mind paying it but seriously after such awful service and makes you wonder how much longer we would have had to wait to get our bill when we asked for it once dessert was served.

Food was slower than other premier in restaurants I've stayed at for work. Night 1 was really busy which is fine butt 1.5 hr for w course meal for 1! Night 2 I was going to have a dessert but the staff took so long I wasn't going to wait any longer I had to leave the table to then finalise my bill aswell.

Table booked for 8pm. Told to wait as table not ready. 8.10 asked to go to our table, which was ready. 8.20 placed order, 1 starter, 2 mains. 8.55 nothing had arrived. Spoke to waitress, asked where our food was, she came back after 5 minutes, nothing started. Asked for Manager, she came after 5 minutes, we cancelled mains and just had starter for partner. Told starter was free and wine half price. Happy to pay full price for both. Not a happy customer.

Ruined our Christmas day along with every other family who turned up.

A group of friends booked a table here for breakfasts on the 6th Feb the menu look very good and we were looking forward to it. When we arrived at the venue the doors were locked and a notice on the door saying closed. we all had a wasted trip, they did not even try to inform us beforehand and cancel our booking poor effort.

Lacking of any festive atmosphere. Waitress just dropped the food on the table and disappeared! Had to find someone to pay the bill. Food basic.

Sunday 22nd January at 4 o'clock no bar staff behind bar ,no front of house staff ,no waiter ,waitress we waited 10 minutes shouted a few times got not response so left . We as a party will not be going back absolutely shocking for a chain of this size

When the food eventually arrived it was lovely. Service however not so much. Didn't have any pies on pie night. Over an hour for our starter after we ordered it, only 2 other tables were occupied (not busy). Then they decided after we had our starters that the main course one of us ordered they didn't have. How did they not realise this until over an hour after we ordered it. Staff were like sheep, didn't have a clue. No passion in their work. We were in the restaurant for 3 hours in total. SHOCKING!!

Stayed at Premier Inn so booked breakfast for 3 people, shown to a clean table and asked what we’d like to eat , I ask for a omelette to be told “ sorry no omelettes” “ Do you have eggs ?” Yes is the reply so I asked for scrambled egg instead , coffee and sundries were ok but no pastries as they hadn’t been delivered, restaurant wasn’t busy couldn’t have been more than 4 tables in use, food arrived both my wife and me had cold bacon, mushrooms and beans, the waitress apologised for this and offered properly cooked food but we were on a timescale so refused No offer of money back, sad to say won’t be eating breakfast here again which is a shame as previously it’s been value for money but not any more

It's a nice pub to have a drink if you sleep in the Premier Inn. Most of the staff from the pub are not very friendly. We didn't eat so I can't comment on the food.

Christmas day dinner disgusting after a one hour wait the main finally came missing half the veg and it was cold people had been waiting yo be served from 12 midday and were still waiting at 130pm never again will I cross the threshold of this place

Had the best haddock and chips I've had in a long time on Boxing day. Service was perfect and very attentive. Recomed for no nonsense serand quality food and drink at reasonable prices

Xmas day dinner. Booked for 3pm got seated at 5pm. Starter came, flat cold, sent back came back flat cold. Same for all our party. Gave up got a refund and ended up having a Indian takeaway when we got home. So none of us got a Xmas dinner. Not only us but every customer in same position.

This place deserves less than one star after ruining our Christmas Dinner. The management needs to be seriously looked at because the way this place is run and patrons treated is disgusting! Arrived at 3pm for our Christmas Dinner at nearly 5pm we still hadn't been seated. If you cannot cope with the bookings then do not take reservations it is as simple as that! I would advise anyone else who books here to check they have the staff and as for the management they should hang there heads in shame for the amount of families that left without a Christmas dinner! Never again...

After covid cancelled 2020 and my 77 year old mum got knocked down last year we were all looking forward to Christmas Dinner out today, what we got was an utter shambles, after 3 hours we walked out having only just received the main course, we didn't even bother waiting for dessert as we had had enough. Numerous other tables had the same problem and god knows how many couldn't even get in because of this, no explanation was given and the "manager " was nowhere to be seen, leaving young staff to deal with the problems she is paid to deal with and indeed prevent to start with. Thar particular lady should hang her head in shame and she completely ruined my mums day

Absolute shambles for Xmas dinner today, pre-paid £250 for the meal. We were served a starter after 30mins which we thought acceptable time then waited 2hr 20 mins for the main course which was cold, hard veg but we ate half of it and left before desert, everybody was kicking off it was horrendous. The waiting staff were trying to do their best, particularly Amy trying to appease everybody complaining, i dread to think what went off after we left, people were getting very irate and and further 50 plus people trying to get in but we couldnt leave as we hadnt been served, terrible xmas day.

Thank you table table Barnsley for completely ruining our Christmas. Had a table booked for Christmas dinner at 3pm. Still hadn't been seated at 5pm absolute pandamoniom badly organized no apologies and no Christmas dinner. Paid £152 thinking for one year I wouldn't have to cook. Not blaming the waiting staff had not their fault,but the management team need to be seriously repremanded as this is totally unacceptable. There must have been 15 other families in the same situation. I will never eat there again totally disgusted.
