Glasfen in Flintshire

Absolutely stunning food, amazing atmosphere and extremely welcoming staff. We were recommended Glasfryn and it definitely did not disappoint. It was exceptionally busy, we had to ask for the ,emu but that was the only negative during our visit. The staff were very helpful and chatty and even spent time to fuss over our dog. The atmosphere was great and we met some lovely people. We will definitely be back!

We have been visiting the glasfryn for years and have always enjoyed the customer service and the food. However, today the service was very poor, sides came 10 minutes after our food and we had to ask for our table to be cleared 25 minutes after we had finished. The food was ok but not as good as it used to be. We will be thinking twice before coming again unfortunately.

We are regular visitors to the Glasfryn, we went last week as we were told they had a new chef so we were expecting a new menu which excited us. We were very disappointed with the meal, it was bland, and unexciting no taste very poor, hopefully it was just a one off, but we will be giving it a miss for a while.

My family I had a wonderful meal at the Glasfryn this evening. I enjoyed a delicious cheese, onion and potato pie which I would recommend to veggies and meat eaters alike. The table service was excellent, we had a very welcoming and attentive waitress named Olivia. Olivia’s friendly and polite service is an asset for such a lovely restaurant - that level of service and knowledge of menu isn’t always seen outside of the city. We as a family would recommend this to everyone that wants to enjoy quality food and conversation amongst warm and inviting surroundings.

Sunday lunch was brilliant. Roast Pork with all the trimmings. Service was warm, quick, and friendly. Reasonably priced food. Recommended.

Lovely place but after being told, we can’t order food in the garden section because it’s not on the right level when the table sign said otherwise.

Two couples and we pre- booked our table in advance. What a wonderful experience. I'll start with the selection of beers available at the bar..top notch, the Timothy Taylors Boltmaker is fantastic. We then ordered fish and chips, chicken pie, bacon chop, cherry pavlova, sticky toffee pudding, waffles and a bottle of white wine. Everything was very tasty and the food was nicely presented and piping hot. What really stood out was the number of waiting staff and how efficient they all were, really good service and what appeared to be a well managed establishment. We will return when next in the area, thank you to the staff for a enjoyable meal and drinks.

Great pub especially if visiting the nearby Theatre. Excellent choice of Menu and both our meals were done perfectly with good sized helpings. All staff were both friendly and helpful.

Really disappointed. We are regular customers and came for a midweek lunch. Sat outside and had a drink then ordered our lunch and was told they were not serving food in the patio as it was too busy. This was unacceptable on a Wednesday afternoon. They need to improve there service. We chose glasfryn for our lunch but wish we went elsewhere

Been coming to the Glasfryn for many years. Never had cause to moan before but today was very disappointing; the linguine was bland & the steak in the steak sandwich was inedible. That was changed for another steak sandwich, but that was not much better - grissly & tough. Never had to send a meal back from here before, so we are very disappointed. Thought they might not charge for the meal we sent back - but they did.

If you want cold food this is the place to come .. starters fine nice and hot. Drinks great. Problem started with the next course. There was a bit of a wait, which was fine as nice fresh hot food is worth waiting for. Three courses arrived, which was a steak sandwich, served raw and cold. A cold poached egg was on the pecorino dish. And cold chicken on the chicken flat bread dish. All had cold chips Sent all three back, the steak sandwich came out again still with cold chips and a different steak which was cold. Sent back again. All three came back out again, the chicken was still cold but at least the chips were warm. The steak was still cold but the bun warmed and fresh chips. The whole experience was poo, with no offer of a reduction in price for the inferior food. Suffice to say I will not be going back. On a plus point, it was nice surroundings and lovely gardens in the sun.

Brunning and Price so you know the standard and this is a great looking and spacious pub. Friendly staff, we hadn't booked but early midweek and we took a table in the bar. We both had light bites, I had the Chicken Shawarma and some chips, all very good. Nice pint of the Eastgate ale.

My wife and I came here for lunch we sat in the bar area. The choice on the menu is great if you are gluten intolerant like my wife most dishes are or have the option gluten free. I’m a vegetarian and the choice is poor I had the falafel burger which is the only main on the menu that is vegetarian. This was very dry it was a bit like eating Weetabix with no milk! I was going to mention this when asked but nobody even asked about the meal when paying or after serving. I must say the my wife’s meal was excellent and she really enjoyed it. The choice of beers at the bar was fantastic I suppose it’s my choice to be vegetarian, but would have liked to have at least two choices for my main.

Went here for a wonderful evening meal whilst catching up with family during the festive season. Meals were delivered in a timely manner considering the restaurant was really full on a Thursday evening. The staff were really friendly and attentive and the food was delicious! I had the burger which was full of good quality meat with no gristle inside. The meals were of good size and I would say reasonably priced for the size of meal you get. I would certainly recommend Glasfryn and would also return if in the area again!

Three of us met for a "Bon Voyage " lunch for a friend (several others cancelled due to distance /illness/other) My meal (crab and prawn linguine) whilst tasty was small and lacked crab this was disappointing for the price. I had travelled for over an hour to the Glasfryn and It is a journey I shall not repeat.

Easily one of the best places in Mold for food and a pint. Good selection of beers, friendly staff, tasty food and the location is lovely. Nice view of Mold and the beer garden is perfect in the Summer

Fantastic meal for son’s birthday on Sunday. Sunday dinners were excellent as were starters and desserts too. Lovely pub to watch or drink in with first class service too. Love coming here.

We absolutely love this place mainly because the vegan and vegetarian food is as thought about as much as the meat-fish dishes , we are used to goats cheese quiche or butternut squash curry so absolutely love that they take care of all their customers, the people that work here are so lovely too, can't wait to come back , please please can you put the tofu stir fry back on one day 😀

I decided to celebrate a significant milestone for me and my wife, with a Monday night visit to Glasfryn. We knew it would be busy and booked ahead using the very easy booking link on the website. We arrived at a thriving and busy venue, and enjoyed a drink at the bar as the table wasn't quite ready, 10 minutes later we had a lovely table for two next to a warm radiator looking at the large fire, every table around us busy and people enjoying themselves but still far enough away to not intrude in our own conversation and meal. I choose the Camembert with walnuts and Grape, whilst my wife enjoyed the Squid, both starters were excellent and generous in portion size, which we appreciated. For mains my wife chose the belly pork and whilst concerned with the pancetta croquette our server assured her it was almost the star of the dish however if she didn't like it he would replace it with large chunky chips within a minute of here displeasure, I chose the braised shoulder of lamb with minted new potatoes. Both dishes where spot on and we both took pleasure sampling each other's meal, which considering how busy the place was, was really pleasing.... and yes our server returned within a minute of our mains arriving and asked my wife re the croquette she agreed it added to the dish and there was non left at the end. We enjoyed a lovely full bodied but smooth bottle of wine (cotes du rhone) and decided against desserts as it was Monday after all. I had won a 2 course meal voucher at the local rugby club which the pub is proud to support which gives you a sense of the pub truly being part of the community, Thank you for the lovely night.

My husband and I booked a table at The Glasfryn for a festive meal. We both ordered turkey roasts that were tasty. There was a generous serving of turkey, roast potatoes and a medley of vegetables, served on piping hot plates . The Christmas crackers were a nice addition. Booked a reservation, as I know that the Glasfryn does get busy. We were attending the panto at Theatr Clwyd so it’s an ideal location for a pre-show meal. Always a great atmosphere. We ordered our meal my wife had the pork chop while I fancied the cod and chips . Both meals were excellent - which were followed by a sweet each . Great customer service

We were visiting a lady in Mold Community Hospital so decided to have Sunday lunch at the GlasFryn. We have been many times before and it has always been very good. Today the food was good but we ordered a pot of tea after the meal which never arrived. After waiting fifteen minutes we decided to forgo the tea and went to pay. The girl behind the bar said £50 please..my husband asked for the written bill which she gave us reluctantly and on it was £7 for the tea. We said that the tea had never appeared so could it be taken off the bill. She called a lad over and said ‘we have a problem here’ and walked off. He sorted it out with no trouble.. but what a fuss over a missing teapot and two teacups. We weren’t cross so don’t understand why it was such a problem to the young lady. Need to sort staff out on customer care.

Been here a few times but food quality has slipped and service slow. Firstly the waiter got our drinks wrong which was resolved but took a while. Long wait for simple food, steak sandwhich and a steak burger. Hardly any steak in the sandwich chunky chips undercooked and hard in the middle. Burger ok chips really undercooked. Not worth almost £16. Used up or 6 vouchers from previous visits and wont return.

Went for lunch mid week with parents. Food was excellent - fish and chips, proper steak burger and crispy chilli salad all went down superbly. Service was impeccable and good value. Definitely one to return to.
