The best restaurant I have eaten at in the UK for a month. It’s so fragrant. The pasta is super recommended. The chocolate gelato and strawberry ones are also very delicious. The most delicious restaurant I have eaten in this month in the UK. Everything is soooooo delicious. The pasta is super super recommended. Went with my granddaughter for Sunday lunch , the older grey haired guy never made eye contact with me and basically ignored me other than taking our order he was absolutely fine with my granddaughter who is 10 . My granddaughter said he doesn't like you nana , I said yes I agree , this could be because I'm no dolly bird . The pizza we ordered was just ok not much taste couldn't taste basil or any other herbs quite disappointing really . I won't be going back .

Brilliant service,.food and drinks as always

The older waiter in the restaurant made us feel uncomfortable. Firstly, when he came and asked us if we were ready for the order, my husband said some of us are ready but some of us still need some time. To which he said he is from Africa and he is too busy for this so will come back. When I ordered, I asked “If I could have Calabrese pizza please?” To which he said “ You can, the question is do you want some?”. At this point I though may be he just trying to be funny and I just gave an awkward laugh. We ordered food which was good we could not finish one dish completely as we were absolutely full. He looked at that plate and said that the “you have over-ordered that one dish and you would be fined if you were in some restaurant in Manchester” To which we agreed and said we just could not finish that one dish as we got too full but finished everything else. He came with the bill and said again that you would be fined if you were in this specific restaurant in Manchester as you have messed about with the food. He also said “this is generally what British people do”. It just made us so uncomfortable. Terrible service.

So long as your name is mario you'll be well looked after. If not, you will get called mario anyway. Who could have known our maitre d was also mario. All five stars.

Visited yesterday for a school reunion. Never disappoints. Great service, lovely food, perfect booth & nicely decorated. They never rush you & it’s just spot on - we had a lovely long leisurely lunch - thank you

Food was spot on. Waitress service was spot on. Atmosphere was relatively loud but not too bad. Older waiter with gray hair made my girlfriend uncomfortable, after asking for a dish without mushrooms or onions he said she has ruined it and why can’t she pick something else ( not jokingly ) he then proceeded to say that he feels sorry for me after he walked away. Very lucky I didn’t complain and I was in a rush. Will not be returning. Gustos further up the road is 10x better.

Went for dinner on Saturday night - four adults and two children under 10. The food was brilliant but what was even better was the service - just lovely people who seem to be enjoying their jobs, it makes such a difference to the experience. They welcomed the children and interacted with them and nothing was too much trouble.

excellent food a bit pricy but expected it

We had an evening meal here last night (Saturday) and were so impressed with the food, service and timing. Our table was a party of 10 covers. Our son is autistic and was made to feel very welcome from the moment we stepped through the door, as were we all! My gnocchi and side salad were delicious and everybody said how nice their meal was in our party. The decor is bold and contemporary and the staff are so friendly and professional they make it look effortless and that adds to a very enjoyable evening. I would highly recommend Giovannis.

Lovely staff, great decor. Locals had vandalised the windows but the inside was well-decorated at Christmas. The food was delicious. We had the Seafood Linguine and the kids had Spaghetti. The default seems to be al dente so do let the Chefs know if you want your pasta done any other way. Salads and greens were fresh. Great service - lovely with our young kids. Would come again.

First and last visit.. Nothing special food very dated.. disappointed !! we had the Christmas set menu starter was chicken pate served with an orange slice and 1980s side salad The mains were turkey dinners which was like Bernard Matthew’s sliced roll covered in thick gravy with a skin and pale roast potatoes and a tomato and a side salad never have a Christmas dinner served with salad… we ordered a bottle of champagne £80 no ice in the bucket or towel for bottle we had to ask twice.. dessert was Tiramisu served with 1980s style squirty cream it didn’t taste of coffee it was tasteless.. Time for a new chef Giovannis you need to move with the times..

Very nice surprise one of the Best Italian restaurant in the area...

Our first visit was so lovely that we came back again, this time with my parents as well as the children! Everyone thoroughly enjoyed themselves, all the food was excellent. It's not a child-focused restaurant by any means and I would come here with a group of friends or for date night, but the children (5 and 3) were kindly catered to by immediately taking their orders and serving them first, and they were even given a complimentary scoop of gelato for dessert. Service was both attentive and entertaining! Perfect venue for a multigenerational get-together or any other occasion that calls for good Italian food.

Fun night seeing the Rod Stewart act, food was lovely especially the lasagne.

Went to a Rod Stewart tribute night with a meal. The food was good, the atmosphere was great and the act was really good.

Went here for a birthday meal with my family. All the food was delicious and the drinks were great too. Lovely atmosphere but a little loud. All the food arrived hot and at the same time. The staff were friendly and efficient.

I’ve been to Giovanni’s three times in the space of three days - only because the Capricciosa Pizza was SO delicious, and I wanted to have it again!! On the third night I had the parmigiana di melanzane, and it was fabulous as well. My partner had the minestrone soup and spaghetti bolognese, and he was equally impressed. The food is really very good, and the service is impressive. Especially if you’re lucky enough to have Izzy as your waitress, you’re in luck! She will look after you and make sure that you have the most delightful dining experience. Whenever I return to Knutsford, I will ensure to eat here again!!

First visit, will definitely return. I just wish it was closer to home. 3 courses for under £20. Excellent value for money. The Lasagne was one of the best ever. 👌

It’s okay here but was disappointed, staff were pretty friendly but inattentive. Chips weren’t good and pasta wasn’t the best, would visit again but not for a while….

Previous Visit: Had Arancini and lobster ravioli which was excellent. (5 Star) This Visit: Decided to go out in Knutsford, checked on TripAdvisor, tried to book in at many places but this was the only place available at the time we wanted. This should have raised a red flag, but i was hoping we were just lucky. Manager took us to our table, got drinks straight away and ordered food. I had the arancini for starters which all three were cold in the middle, they got sent back and another plate was brought out which were ok. Next for the main course, I’d ordered Spaghetti Carbonara with chicken, this arrived with no chicken, I then had to request some cutlery as I had none at that point, I was brought a knife and fork which I really wanted a spoon also, I started eating it and the manager came over and asked if it was too creamy we told him I had ordered with chicken he immediately took the plate away, I still had food on my fork! He then gave me daggers as he walked to the kitchen. He then came back with the dish. We also noticed the couple next to us had been waiting for at least 20 minutes to be served, they later had a calzone pizza but it looked like they were having issues also, it did look uncooked. I have been to this restaurant in the past and it was good, but I’m afraid I won’t be going back. We had been warned by locals that this place was a bit hit and miss.

PLEASE, for the love of God ... sort out the air conditioning in the restaurant. It was so hot when we visited, I nearly had to ask the waitress if I might be allowed to get into the kitchen's oven to cool down a little. Food was great and very reasonably priced, but could not enjoy it with it being so hot!

A fantastic family friendly restaurant. The waiters made the evening an excellent experience and were brilliant especially with our French friends teenage children. Will visit again.

No doubt...the best Italian Restaurant in Town...!

Can’t clearly explain why this place was a miss…..not one thing…..just a combination of a few…..slow’ish service; a few poor dishes (chicken covered in an overpowering lemon sauce, cannoli that tasted like it had been in the freezer well past it’s sell buy date), or was it hearing a chef telling a waiter to f-off across the restaurant? Anyway, I’d be tempted to give this place a miss.

Lasagne was terrible like water. Friendly staff. We visited after reading great reviews, however we were disappointed 😞

Amazing place. The food was incredible. A bit on the expensive side but worth it, portions are large. The monkfish main was stunning. So was the shellfish and cod. Kids had some amazing pizzas.

We had a great night thank you. The staff was very attentive and the food was great. Just the duck with hoisin sauce-pizza... It sounded really interesting, which is why we ordered it... It's rubbish. It really is. Please scrap it from your menu. A Chinese takeaway on an Italian pizza just doesn't go and we wished we hadn't gone with it. Maybe you could exchange it with a Gorgonzola Pizza instead? Just an idea. Apart from that, it was a perfect night, thanks.

Not sure how this has got 4.5 stars. Not a patch on Gusto or Piccolino further down the high street. Bland, cold food. Reminded me of the school cafeteria. Basic interior. High prices. Complained about meal and got a measly £5 discount, barely worth giving. Staff friendly but other than that won’t waste my time going here again.

The food was just alright, I expected more. It wasn't great. The service was OK, as was the atmosphere, but I found the whole restaurant experience disappointing.

Friendly staff lovely atmosphere

We came in after a walk in Tatton Park on a busy Saturday night without a booking, the host was able to find a seat for us when he could’ve easily turned us away. Lovely pizza and pasta meal split together, the Calabrese pizza is delicious! Delightful staff.

We had a booking for 730pm on the 14th we turned up a little earlier than we planned so we went in and they said our table was ready We must have sat for about 20/25 minutes before anyone even came to take our drinks order. My wife ordered from the valentines menu and i from the regular menu. The set meal said 3 course meal plus a glass of Bellini on arrival. My wife did not get this, even though she didn’t want it it should have been offered to her. Our meal came starters were ok nothing to sing and dance about and mains again just average. I had a request to not have a certain part of the ingredients removed and the waitress was very happy to make note of this. Fish came after waiting a while and it came with this ingredient I didn’t complain not only that no one actually came up to us to ask us if everything was ok. I understand the restaurant was busy but you arrange your bookings so things should still work the right way At the payment time I did mention a fault in my main but said we didn’t want to raise a fuss. We have been to giovanis a number of times and it’s been amazing service and food so a little shocked today and feel bad for writing this review I didn’t want to be too harsh in the star rating so have awarded 3 stars
